W530 system language problem

Hello!
I have W530 laptop; purchased it from Germany, but I do not speak German at all.
After purchase on the first boot it offered me to choose system language (there was a note that it is not possible to change it later). There were 2 choices - German or English. I chose English and was happy until 2 days ago I decided to restore Windows to its original state. I created recovery disks and successfully restored C partition of my machine.
The problem is that there was no option to change the language anymore. There were those "select your country and keyboard layout" menus. But it was all in German. I thought that I had missed that point of choosing language, so restored C partition once more and looked very carefully through all the menus on the first boot, but it is not there.
I have windows 7 pro 64 bit. I found that I need ultimate for windows to support language packs etc.
Is there anything I can do besides acquiring normal windows on torrent mall? How do I get that choice between german and english languages?
Thanks in advance!

The new update to Mavericks fixes the problem with updates not showing, if the primary system language is not set to English:
Fixes an issue that prevented iLife and iWork apps from updating on non-English systems
It does not mention Aperture - but hopefully this problem has been fixed for Aperture as well with this update.

Actually, this is an id10T mistake.  I rebooted to the wrong hard drive.  Please disregard this problem.  It is solved.

  • System Language after upgrade to 10.4.6

    Hi everybody,
my PowerBook seems to run nicely after the upgrade, however, the language of the LoginWindow has changed from German (my user's default) to English. The language of my account is German when I'm logged in. Any hints on how to resolve this?
    Thanks, Jonas
PS: No, this is not critical... but it's not nice, either.

The update didn't change my system language (Danish), so it can't be a general problem. How did you update your system?
I used the Combo Update¹ and ran Repair Permissions both before and after the update. I always use the Combo version of updates just to be sure. So far (knock on wood) I haven't had any trouble with updates for 10.4

  • Language Problem after 10.5.7 Update

    Hi,
i´ve installed the 10.5.7 Update successfully. But after the Update my login screen language is chanced to english instead of my own language german. How can I change the language setting for the login screen?

After updating I have the same problem with the standard language. I tried the command mentioned above to switch the standard system language to german without any effect and got the following message:
    +Setting boot completed.+
    +2009-05-13 21:57:31.217 Language Chooser[529:c0b] Cannot load BootPanel.pdf from (null)+
After restarting the system the standard system language is still english.
Access rights are checked and seem to be ok.

  • Different Safari and system language

Hi, I would like to ask, if it is possible to have different system language (System Preferences > Language/Religion/Preferred Languages) and Safari language. The problem is, that I want to have my Mac in english (Preferred Language - English), but Safari in Czech language, because if I set my Mac language english, then safari automatically turns pages into english language, and i have to click back on the Czech flag. I'm sure everybody knows the option which some webpages have - its usually on upper right corner, where are two or more flags depending on what language do you want to have the webpage.
Theres an option in Chrome to change this (Chrome > Preferences > Show Advanced Settings > Languages > Language and imput settings), but for Safari I'll have to figure it out by Terminal or something I believe..I don't know. Eventually that's why I'm here asking you.
    Thx a lot guys! x)

Funny is that before Lion or Mavericks there was no Czech language option in System Preferences, so I had to use English, but Safari didn't have problem automatically set language of the pages into Czech.
Before there was a Czech localization, you could use the Edit button to put Czech at the top of the list in system preferences and the OS would stay in English but Safari would ask for Czech web pages.   But I don't know how Safari could ask for Czech pages without doing that.

  • Agentry Android Client - Device Language Problem

    Hi all,
We are using SMP 2.3 SP04 and Agentry 6.1.4 versions both for client and server.
There is no problem when the client's device system language is English. But when it is a diferent language, gives an error.
    Check the screenshot below,
Previous client versions are worse, because they all just crash after "Checking Style Definition" step.
    Thanks in advance.

    Murat,
One idea for non-English language is that all the localization files or configuration files (*.ini) or any edited files were saved in encoding type: Unicode.  If you are using Notepad to save your changes, when you press save or save as there is an Encoding type selection next to the "Save" button. Make sure it is Unicode (not Aschii).
Here is the definition of Unicode Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode
If you look at the Wiki Unicode characters support Non-English or character type better.
The above is just a trick we use in support. Also when Agentry implemented multilingual support the code supported Unicode encoding.
    This is one idea.
Another idea is to dive in the log files just before the failure occurred for Replacing Definition for EditFieldStyle. Check which file it used.  Try opening it in Notepad and click Save As - See what encoding it is using (The Encoding will be displayed next to the Save button).

  • System language on mac OS

Hallo. can anyone tell me this.. do all apple OS ship with the actual system language in US english? I know that you can change the language (or get rid of some) on install but is this just dialogue boxes etc? In other words if I were to buy OS leopard in Germany for instance and had to get right in to the system to fix a software problem, would everything be in that language? What actually changes when you change the language? Just curious really being an english speaker in france! cheers and thanks in advance.

All OS X installs are multilingual by default. You can change the language of the menus and dialogues to English in a few seconds by going to system prefs/international/language and putting English at the top of the list and doing logout/login. App's normally follow the language of the OS, assuming they include that language in the localization files.

  • System language switch

I would to change time to time system language.... in my spare time I use to translate many apps into Spanish...
since now this was easy... I rum system in Spanish on my mac pro and English ( with an English keyboard) on my macbook 17 ... but now I need French too...
for apps, no problem, I go to system preferences and I switch to desired language..
I need to check system terms, because many translations are literal and sound unusual for they language.

many thanks, I have always thought that this preference worked only at application level...

  • Appstore language problem

Hello, I have recently got an Ideapad A1 as a gift from someone in China. After much difficulty i managed to change the System Language to English. However, the appstore still works only in Chinese and I'm unable to change the language to English. Could anyone help me with step by step instructions on how to change this to English (with where to click) as I don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese (not sure which one it is).  Thank you!

You'll need to install a system image from another region in order to change the language of the Play Store/Android Market. Note that this process is going to erase everything you have on the tablet, and bring it to a factory state.
In order to do this procedure:
    1. Download this file: http://download.lenovo.com/slates/a1/OTA/A107W0_A234_001_015_2643_ROW.zip and rename it to update.zip. Copy it to an SD card.
    2. Power off the tablet.
    3. Insert the SD card
    4. Whilst holding down volume -, power on the tablet. Keep holding volume - until you see a progress bar and an icon of an open box.
    5. Wait until the progress bar completes - the tablet will power off at this point.
    6. Remove the SD card.
    7. Power on the tablet, again holding down volume-. Keep holding it until a menu appears, entitled "Android System Recovery ,3e."
    8. Use the volume buttons to navigate to the "wipe data/factory reset" option. Press the power button to select it.
    9. Once the wipe has completed, reboot the tablet.
At this point you should have the Android Market in English, and a fresh installation of the "Rest of World" version of the system software.
If you have any trouble with this process, please post back with a list of the steps you performed, and what problems you encountered.

  • Troubleshooting System Recovery Problems

A System Recovery is a useful tool to return your Windows 8 tablet back to factory defaults. However, what do you do when the System Recovery isn't working!?
A full System Recovery can be a lengthy process as there is a lot of data being transferred. Patience is the key, as a full Recovery can take two to four hours to complete.
For more information check out HP's Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems for Windows 8. This document will help you get your Windows 8 tablet back up and running.
TIP: If you are planning on using the System Recovery make sure that you do not change or delete the HP Recovery Partition as that will make all but impossible to Restore your tablet using the HP Recovery Manager.

  • To export system language to a browser using CALL_BROWSER

    Hello Experts,
I am triggering a search help exit with the search help in my R\3 system, which indirectly takes me to the netweaver system via RFC. In the Netweaver function module I have used the call_browser FM to call a browser. While defining the URL I want to export the system language ( the one where my search help is present) in the browser. Please let me know , by calling which FM in my Netweaver system I can export system language parameter to the browser.

    Hi Calvin!
This isn't possible. Applets just can handle events inside its phisical area as they run in a security model called "sandbox". Using class netscape.javascript.* possiblies interaction between applets and javascripts but there are many constraints and finally method "showDocument()" just open a new http address.

I reinstalled iTunes exactly as described at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224 but this does not help.
