W530 WiFi not working after wake-up on Windows 8.1 64-bit

Hi,
I have W530 that I bought in 2013, I have Windows 8.1 installed.
When I wake up my computer from sleep, by operning the lid, the WiFi status shows as active, Internet as available -- I get the icon with 5 bars. Unfortunatley, when I try to access anything on the web or ping, I get information about unknown hosts or network not being reachable.
When I reboot, everything is okay. This is not a wi-fi problem, as I checked with my phone in the same time and the internet worked.
I noticed this happens when I move my laptop from one workplace to another or from work to home.
Do you have any ideas how could I debug this problem?

Correct everything works great, WiFi has never been faster and stable.  I can resume from a suspend and Windows 8.1 wakes up and connects to the internet immedately.
Bluetooth works great even with the device manager "!" shown from the older bluetooth.   I assumed the old bluetooth was part of the old mini pci card.  (I guess not)
It was suggested I remove the old bluetooth daughter card.   I'll need to figure out where that is exactly.   I might just leave it alone if it's too hard to get to but need to find out.
And no the special firmware while not easy to flash is totally safe.  They just stripped out the whitelist.   I'd be happy to  help anyone via teamview that needs help updating if they are not good with dos commands.

Iphone 3G wifi not working after software upgrade, no proper fix from Apple. APPLE SUPPORT - R U SLEEPING.......

You are not talking to Apple. This is a user to user forum.
If you're using the iPhone 3G, there will be no fix for your problem. The software you have, 4.2.1, is the end of the line for the 3G. Apple is no longer providing software updates for the 3G.

  • WiFi Not Working After Restore

The WiFi Is Not Working After I Restored My 1st Gen. iPod Touch
    *PLEASE HELP!*

    luvlabs,
Thanks for attempting to assist in this. Unfortunately the networks around me are not even being seen by my ipod touch. I of course, to answer the dumb question you asked macpolymer, have my wifi settings turned to on. I will attempt the restore/reset again, but I have done that about 3 or 4 times now, can't recall exactly, with exactly the same result.
I need to have this resolved, otherwise I am stuck, as I have lost my receipt for Best Buy.

  • Alum BT keyboard does not work after wake up - but BT trackpad does!

    Here is my set up:
MBAir 2011 model (13", i7 4GB, Lion.. all up to date)
Desktop set up (same at work and home)
    - Thunderbolt display
    - Aluminum Bluetooth Keyboard
    - Aluminum Bluetooth Trackpad
    What I do:
    - Plug in the sleeping mbair into my display via thunderbolt and power cable
    - Wake up using external bluetooth trackpad
    - computer wakes up and external trackpad is functional (it always works)
    - 7/10 times the external keyboard will not connect to enter password to get into system
         - I have tried power button banging on it for a long time and does not work
         - open mbair and type password in and remove keyboard and repair and after several tried it will work
         - then I can close mbair and use external keyboard
         - painful to do this most days at home and work
    What have I tried
    - PRAM, SMC reset
    - remove all BT entries - trash blutooth properties files and freshly add them back
    - I have tried waking using keyboard as well and it does not work
Only think I have wanted to try and have not found out is, if keyboard can reset to factory.
Yes I also have the occasionaly wifi not connecting from sleep issue

    Hello
Have you noticed this problem on factory settings or only on your Windows 7 installation? Maybe its just a driver or software issue
Make also sure that latest BIOS version is installed. Look on the Toshiba website for an update:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Before you start the update, make sure that all programs are closed and you are logged in as Administrator.

  • Windows 8.1 wifi not working after sleep (and other various bugs)

Hello Apple support forum, this is my first post!
Alright, so I just switched to my first mac. MBP Retina late '13. I bought it primarily to run windows, and to also of course use OS10.
My issues in bootcamp however are getting annoying. My Wifi shows up as connected after I resume from sleep, but my mac won't let me disable wifi, enable airplane mode and then re-enable wifi, nothing. The only way to get wifi to work when resuming from sleep is to reboot.
I just set hibernate when close lid on all my power modes, and basically disabled sleep for now. Hibernate works fine for now, but sleep is much faster from resume and also I'm not sure if the machine will wake up from a simple tap on the keyboard or opening of the lid, I think I have to actually boot it all over again anyways.
My other minor but still annoying issue is my titles of windows in windows are showing up as black (screenshot here)
the only other thing I was curious about was the dual-gpu functionality. I know from reading these forums it's probably not possible because of the hardware and software mesh apple created for OSX and their dual-gpu design, how it wouldn't really work in windows. I'm just wondering if anyone ever got this to work in windows maybe on the older retina MBP or older macs, or if anyone is making progress on trying to fix that in windows? I bought this laptop expecting that to work, even the geniuses at the Apple store said it would be possible, I was misled and might have second-gussed buying a 3k machine if it would only get a few more hours battery than my old Vaio. I bought this machine primarily for battery life.
I'm just remembering another tiny tiny issue. When I plug headphones in the headphone jack in windows, it doesn't automatically switch to that audio output, I have to manually do it in audio settings, is this a bug, have I configured something incorrectly, and is there a fix?
One other thing is my dpi settings, I have it set to a larger font and everything because at stock it is SOOO tiny. my question is, is there any way to smooth out text in other apps, my browser and apps like rdio look like crap unless I leave the dpi settings stock, which I basically need a magnifying glass to use (I tried that for a week lol. Not the magnifying glass tho haha)
I know I'm rambling at this point, but in the windows 8.1 camera app, sometimes my camera does this bug where it flips between inverted and normal, extremely quickly, so it looks like there are two of me. I don't know if this was GPU drivers tho, because just reinstalled those this morning and it seems to be ok so far.
also, the keyboard. I miss my context menu key, what do I need two command keys for? A right alt button, I'd rather have that be the other control button. Any way to remap these easily? what about switching Fn with control on the left, I prefer my windows button in the exact corner.
last question tho, I saw people overclocking gpu's on their retinas from last year, can you do this on the new retinas, and can you overclock the cpu as well as the gpu?
I do have to say this in the end, I am a little dissapointed with apple, I was told thst my mac would run windows like a native windows machine. I know windows 8.1 is not supported, but coming from PC's for years, and being a PC technician, I also go to school for computer engineering, I expected everything to "just work" as steve jobs once said. Well, it doesn't just work. I even had these issues in windows 8, which is supported.
Installing windows 8 was a nightmare. I had to use the forums, try for weeks to get windows 8 to finally instll the proper (uefi) way, and to get everything usable, I had to reinstall my os's twice.
Apple, if you are going to advertise a mac that can run windows "seamlessly", you need to get these major issues fixed, support all new versions of windows before they are even release, and release proper hardware drivers and support software before new hardware is released. All other Windows OEMS are pretty much required to do this to stay in business. I don't dislike OSX, I just use windows for everything I can't use Mac for, so please fix this. You're better than this, you should put a higher standard on this. otherwise, don't advertise macs that can run windows.
Thanks guys, sorry for the information overload. BTW, MBP Retina 15" 16GB RAM 512 SSD, 2.6 haswell, pretty much the max specs other than the SSD.

I have stated every issue I’ve had so far in a fairly clear and concise way. I think if you read what I wrote, it all makes logical sense as to what is going on. Windows 7/8 would work just as well on a Mac if it was supported the same way the OS is for other OEMs.
As I stated earlier in the post, I’m having these same issues in windows 8, not just 8.1, which is the reason for the post. I know the difference between supported by drivers and not supported by the manufacturer. The fact that when Haswell mbp’s came out and no revision to bootcamp for the new hardware was released to fix issues with installing windows on the new hardware shows Apple clearly Is not supporting bootcamp as strongly as they advertise.
I am being realistic on Apple having drivers early. Anyone with an MSDN subscription can download the RELEASE version of windows months ahead of the actual release, I’m 100% sure if any average consumer can do that by paying $100 and saying they are a developer, apple can do it just as easily.
You aren’t much help, you haven’t answered really anything to my post, nor have you contributed any knowledge that wasn’t clearly posted above, so don’t say anything if you don’t have anything to contribute.
By the way, my rant is directed at apple, as you can see because I am saying “Apple, if you are going to…” because this is an Apple forum on Apple’s website. It is not directed to end users, clearly.

  • Yoga 2 830lc wifi not working after android 5 update

hi i am update my yoga 2 830lc to android 5 and after update not working wifi please help me

Hello all. Fisrt of all, this are my specs: Yoga 2 pro 13". WiFi card: Intel(R)Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I bought it from Best Buy on November 27, 2014. If you aquired your Yoga before this date, you may have the single band WiFi card. As many of you have experienced, I also had a bunch of issues with my WiFi connectivity and this is how I was able to solve it. At least it has been a couple of days that I haven't had any issues. The first symptom was the usual connection drops every X amount of time. For me it was about every 2 hours. I first unchecked the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in the Power Management tab of device manager and disabled U-APSD support in the Advanced tab of device manager. This action did not solve the problem. I then downloaded and updated the driver from the Intel web site (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect) and this seemed to solve the drops; however, a new problem arised: Everytime my Yoga would wake up from sleeping mode, all my wifi networks were gone and the adapter showed as disabled in Device Manager. I would have to anable it to have my networks back. It was a solution but a pain the butt to have to do this everytime. After hours of reading post after post in several forums, I read a repy from Lenovo asking to try leaving the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" CHECKED if you were using the latest version of the driver. I went back to device manager and checked it back and that seems to have solved the problem. So far I haven't had any drops and everytime my laptop comes back from sleeping mode the WFi connection is still there! Here is a recap of how everything ended up: -The driver version I installed is 17.1.0.19-The driver date is 7/21/2014-In device manager|Advanced, U-APSD support is Disbled.-In device manager|Power Management, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is checked. Hope this helps somebody else.

  • Win 7 Wifi not working after upgrading to 10.9.4

After the update I am not able to get Wifi connection on my Bootcamp 5.1.2 with Windows 7 Professional. The wifi icon gets a red X and it can't se any network at all where it earlier could se several networks. Its running on a Macbook Pro Retina, Mid 2012 2,3GHz i7. Also my external keyboard is not working anymore when booting to Win.
Everything was working perfect before the update and somehow it seems like the the Apple Windows support software is not working anymore (I am guessing).
I have tried to download the support software again to a USB and reinstall on Windows but no change.
Since I have been reading that there has been a issue with a Apple wifi update on 10.8 I tried the workaround from that thread and restarted the bootcamp in many different ways but still no changes.
I guess that this requires a new update from Apple - but I can't find any way to report this issue without having to pay for it!
Anyone who are experiencing the same or maybe someone who has a solution I would appreciate it - thanks.

After i reinstalled Bootcamp with Windows 7 it was all working fine again with OSX 10.9.4.
The bad news is that I just updated OSX again to the new 10.9.5 and now I am back where I started again - no network connections.
It can't be a coincide that it is the same pattern again and a bit annoying if the solution is to reinstall Bootcamp every time there is a update - hope anyone can give me some hints?

  • MMS over WiFi not working after Sense 6 Update

A week ago Monday, the Sense 6 update hit my phone.  Once loaded, I could no longer send MMS over WiFi, stream Google Play Music over WiFi, access my content on Google Play Books, or back up my pics to Google Cloud over WiFi.  After several days of e-mails back and forth with HTC, it was determined that I had to perform a Hard Reset and lose all my information.  This after clearing the cache, re-booting, various Safe Mode re-boots, etc.  Nothing worked.  I finally gave in and performed the hard reset.  Now, the only thing NOT working is MMS over WiFi.  I've tried other WiFi networks and still no MMS functionality.  After about 10 minutes, I get a red triangle next to the message and an error notification, "Generic Network Failure."
This is going to start costing me money.  Like so many of us, I no longer have unlimited data.  Now, every time I want to send an MMS, I have to use my data plan.  Not cool.  I'm hoping that someone sees this and is working on the problem.  I love my HTC One (M7), I really do.  But, we're talking basic smart phone functionality.  Without it, I'll be looking for another phone, and perhaps even another carrier.  I'd prefer not to do that, but so be it.  Please, Verizon, a little help?
For what it's worth, the MMS does this first.  Notice the little MMS icon with the clock lower right...it just hangs there first...and sorry about the shoe pic.
Next, it does the Red Triangle thing...
And that's all I know.  Perhaps someone here, or a kindly VZW employee will see this and take pity.  Thanks!

I am having the exact same issue with my HTC one, which started immediately after updating to sense 6. Very annoying since I do not have unlimited mobile data plan, so I have to manually turn mobile data on each time I want to send or receive mms texts, including texts with multiple recipients. Did not have this issue before the update. Love this phone, my very first smartphone. But it is hard to believe that I was able to send pics over text with my old flip phone with no data plan. And now I can't with the HTC. I just can't have the mobile data on at all Times. It has become very inconvenient ever since the upgrade. Wish I had never done sense 6.

  • Time Machine backup over wifi not working after upgrade to 10.6.3

I have a firewire external hard disk connected to directly into my imac which I use for back-up. The imac is wired into an ethernet LAN. I also backup my MacBook Pro to the same hard disk. The MacBook is connected to the backup disk via a wifi link to a router. All has been working well until I upgraded Snow Leopard to 10.6.3 and now the back-up is not working for the MacBook. The same thing happened after the last point release upgrade but at the time I thought it must have been user error. Last time I had to trash the backups and start from scratch. Can anyone shed any light?

Try reselecting the drive (from the laptop) via TM Preferences > Select Disk (first select the "none" drive, then the correct one).
If that doesn't help, try a "full reset" of TM on the laptop, per #A4 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.

  • Wifi not working after upgrade

This morning, after the upgrade of mij MacBook to OSX 10.8.5 my wifi is not working anymore.
Technically it is ok, in recover mode, it is working, so it is a software problem.
    Is this a known issue?
    Regards,
    Eric

There have been a lot of people having this issue...Especially the 2008 model which is the unibody aluminum version.  Found that they have to revert back to 10.8.4 to get it working again.

  • A665-S5170 WiFi Not Working After Windows 7 32 Bit Install

I had to put a new hard drive in my A665-S5170. Since there were drivers listed for Windows 7 32 bit for this computer, I installed a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit that I owned. After installing every driver listed, I have no wifi. Another forum I was reading suggested it was because someone with the identical problem had not installed a driver for their chipset, and there is no chipset driver listed, but there is one for the 64 bit version.
When I look at Device Manager, I see the "!" by "network controller."
    Any suggestions?

    Satellite A665-S5170
    Downloads here.
It was apparently not intended to run 32-bit Windows on that model. But probably this driver works.
       Intel WiMax/WiFi for Windows 7 (32), 14.1.1.3.1
       wlan-intel-win7-32-141131.zip
..and there is no chipset driver listed
    The chipset software is here.

  • 2008 aluminium macbook WiFi NOT working after 10.8.5

Well, I have tried EVERYTHING, reset PRAM, SMC, reinstall combo, back from time machine, delete wifi and creat a new one. NOTHING will solve the WiFi problem on 2008 aluminium mackbook.
Before 10.8.5 everying just went great, and I am sure that there is nothing wrong with the router or macbook itself.
reset PRAM and SMC does NOTHING.
reinstall combo only work ONCE right after your first reboot.
back from time machine will NOT help.
The only thing that helps is to DOWNGRADE to 10.8.4
    APPLE, DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I reset the SMC and ran the newer 10.8.5 combo updater. The installer ran and the machine restarted, and guess what - no wifi again!
I decided to see if applying the 10.8.5 supplemental update alone (not as part of the combo) would correct the situation. After that wifi was working again, but just for that boot - after restart it was gone again!
I went into safe mode and all is fine - wifi works in 10.8.5. I'm not running anything special that would be disabled in safe mode, so I don't think that the recent releases made any adjustments to avoid the wifi problem.
I think I'll have to go back to 10.8.4 again -- *sigh*.

  • Thinkpad T440s - trackpad not working after wake up

    HI,
I have an annoying issue with my new T440s.
Trackpad stops working after I get it out of sleep. In fact, it works partially (two finger, edge scrolling is OK).
Even I re-install the driver, it won't work everytime.
Any suggestions? Is this a hardware issue?
    thank you.

Just more information about the issue:
The trackpad is acting like being disabled in BIOS.
2 finger scroll , side scroll are fine. When my screen dims down, I touch the pad and screen is back up.
"enable touchpad" is grayed out in Mouse Properties under control panel.
All trackpad features are fine, only the mouse is not working.
Another thing I noticed: when I get to Windows login screen works fine (sometimes), but then, once I get authenticated and get Windows loaded, its stops working.
    BTW, I'm using Windows 7
Driver reinstall, reload factory image, enabled/disabled in BIOS.. nothing helps.
Hopefuly a Lenovo stuff would read this and share some thoughts.
This is my second 440s replacement. First one did not wake up, after it gets to sleep.
