W550 Ultradock with two digital displays

Hello Folks, I'm expiriencing trouble with W550s Notebooks from Lenovo, inside an Ultra Dock. If have the setup:- Integrated display enabled- External display connected via DVI on Dock and connect an external display via DP on the dock the display connected with DVI is disconected and the DP monitor is connected. The DVI monitor is then not available in windows and cant find any incoming source. All drivers are updated and lenovo allready changed the mainboard of the W550s device. Any ideas? Look, you can build an HD DVD with an SD movie, just as you can build an SD DVD with an HD movie. This is not a bug, it is most likely user error. Apple will not be addressing it.
Just start over, and ensure you are building an SD DVD by bringing up the inspector for the disc (click on the background in the Graphical tab).
Make sure SD DVD is selected:
(If you do the same thing on your ill fated project, you'll see that HD DVD is selected)
Build your DVD and you'll be fine.

P.S. You will need to google HD DVD and Blu-Ray if you want to understand the difference between the formats. The reason that DVDSP included HD DVD was that its format was similar to SD DVD's. Blu-Ray is something else entirely.

5k imac with two 4k displays?

Can anyone confirm that you can use two 4k monitors with a 5k imac? I know it has two thunderbolt monitors but people have told me it can only support one 4k monitor due to the processing power of the CPU and Graphics Card. Essentially im trying to have a mac with 3 high resolution displays. I dont know if its possible yet because of hardware limitations. I was thinking about doing a 5k imac with two 4k displays or a mac pro with three 4k displays Or if neither are possible, I'd just go with a 5k imac and the 5k dell monitor if the iMac could only support one monitor. I have this exact same question.
Just a side note: I own a 5k iMac with a 4k display connected and when I try to add my 4k tv it will not work as a third screen. Bear in mind that is via an hdmi-mdp and I have not tried connecting another monitor via dp.

Problem with two thunderbolt display's daisychained

hey,
i'm having problems with my mac setup. i've got two thunderbolt displays, hooked to a 15" mbp retina laptop.
i've got my iphone hooked to one of the usb ports of the display then i've got a keyboard, a superdrive and a charger for my magic mouse hooked to the displays as well as a firewire hd. two usb 3 hard drives are hooked directly to the mbp.
i also changed the audio midi setup to let the audio pla through both of the displays to get a better sound. the mbp is closed so only those two displays get a video signal.
i have issues when data is transfered along the lines. f.eg my keyboard doesn't work from time to time, my iphone wont be recognized when connected to the dock. not really sure what the problems is a the transfercapacity shouldn't be to it's limit.
could it be a energy problem? that the displays don't get enough power, my power strip has a voltag controller in it, might that be a problem?

I think Apple should extend the warranty if they have a known manufacturing issue. I won't be investing another $1000 on a display from Apple ever again. I can't afford it. I can by an LG, Viewsonic, Dell, or "fill in the blank" for a fraction of the cost.
I expect a $1000 display to last me more than 20 months.

Convert String to double with two digits

How can I format "String" type of numbers (eg. 199.0, or 199) to return a "double" type of nubmers like 199.00, or 199.00. It should have two digits.
For example, the input is String of 199.0, how can I get "double" 199.00. Always format as two digits.

Here is my code. For some reason, when convert the returned String back to double in main, it cut the "0".
What's wrong with my code? How can I get that 4.60 in double type.

Triggering two conuters with two digital signals

Hi,
i am doing some period measurements using a 6221 M-Series card with two counters.
My problem is now to trigger them with two different digital TTL signals. How can i do this?
(Period times Signal 1 <-> Trigger 1, Period times Signal 2 <-> Trigger 2)
Has someone an example vi?

Mac Mini with two VGA displays

Hello. I have a MacMini (2.4 Core 2 Duo) recently connected to 2 Dell E197FP screens. The main screen works fine (HDMI to VGA) but the second screen is blank (Mini DVI to VGA) even though it is recognised in Displays and I can set the resolution. Any help? Thanks in advance.

I solved it myself with a trip to the computer shop.
It seemed to be the chain of connectors coming out of the Mini Display Port (not Mini DVI as mentioned previously) to the monitor. I was using a MDP to DVI/DVI to VGA chain. I've just bought a MDP to VGA and it now works fine.

ALVOOPS with Two Tree display not clearing the prevoious fetched data

I have screen 2000 (Main tree) and 3000 (Sub tree). From main tree an item is double click the corresponding item id is to be taken and populate the data based on the id and display in second Sub tree. I did the process.
My problem is
1st time the data is populating.
2nd time fetching the 2nd id then process and creating the second tree data
But finally display the 1st data
I tried using Delete_all_node, cleared the table, free the container but no use
Please help me.

Mac Mini Server with two displays

I am about to purchase the new MMS, but I want to clarify two things first.
I just got off the phone with Apple Customer Service. I asked them, if it's possible to connect two displays, one via Thunderbolt, the other via mini port at full 2500x1440 res. The guy said, it's possible with two Thunderbolt displays, however, he seemed not to sure about it. Further, he couldn't say anything about the possibility of connecting one Thunderbolt and an older Cinema display at full res.
Does anybody know?

I'm not sure about the full res on HDMI. They always had the dual link adapter for the mini display port, not sure how this HDMI one will work out. Maybe they'll offer a special adapter in time?

Can DAQ 6025E Interface with a digital multimeter? I have an ordinary digital multimeter without RS232, GPIB etc. Is it possible to read any instrument with a digital display with a DAQ 6025E card?

NO! You have no physical connection between the dmm and the pc. The digital display on the dmm cannot just be magically transmitted between the two. The 6025 can measure voltage. It is not a camera that can read the dmm's front panel. The 6025 sits inside the pc. There is a communication bus between the 6025 and the pc. NI-DAQ/LabVIEW software allows you to control the daq board and measure voltages physically present at the input pins of the daq board. Use the daq board and throw away the dmm or throw away the daq board and buy a dmm with a serial or gpib interface.

Two 24" Displays

Anyone knows if the new Mac Mini will work with two 24" Displays DVI (1920X1200, not the Apple LED) (with adaptaters : MiniDisplay --> DVI and Mini-DVI---> DVI) ? Does it work fine as extended desktop ?

Cannot change precision of digital display of a numerical control

Hi,
This may be a stupid question. But in the attched slider control, I am unable to set the precision of the digital display. I can only set the precision of the scale. What do I need to do? Thanks.

In the upper left of the display format tab of the properties dialog box, select digital display.
I agree that it could be implemented better, for example if you right-click on the digital display ...display format. it should land on the dialog with the digital display selected. It currently does not.
(as a general rule, you should avoid overlapping controls. It hurts redraw performance)

Xorg Random crash with no keyborad, display, termial

Hi,
I am running arch in my sager laptop with two external displays (one via hdmi and other dvi). I am using aweome wm as my windows manager. I don't use a login or display manager. I boot to login prompt and lauch awesome using xinit. I have noticed a few times when i quit awesome, all my screens go blank. no terminal. however my keyboard is still working( i test it by togling the caps lock). I just type xinit (without any echo's in the display) and awesome wm gets launched and i can work. This never bothered me.
However recently, i am facing a wierd issue. At random times, the monitor, keyborard and mouse all get's disabled. However my system is still up. I just have no way to interact with it or see what it prints. so i do a ssh and noticed none of the xinit/xorg processes were running. however i don't know why the default terminal or login prompt is not working. (This defect appeared after a pacman update or a chages to boot resoluton of frame buffer). I treid searching all the logs could not find any error messages. May be i don't know where to look.
I can however bring the interface back up by running xinit from the ssh remote terminal. It actually brings awesome wm up in my actual machine. can some one point me in the right direction to diagnoise the reason i loose the default login prompt or reason for x crash.

How much of the thunderbolt datapipe does two thunderbolt displays use?

I have a Late 2011 MBP Pro with Two Thunderbolt displays.
I want to add a thunderbolt external drive and use it to store paralles images for occassional use.
My question is, how much of my thunderport "pipe" is already being consumed by the displays? I found a video with what appears to be a speedometer type tool, but can't find it for the life of me.

No idea what that 'speedometer' test is - I use the AJA System Test to test my Thunderbolt drives speeds. My config is two LaCie TB 2big drive (one 4 terabyte 'unRAIDed' into 2 2 terabyte drive and one 2 terabyte RAID 0) connected to my 15" late 2011 MBP and then with the Display on the end of the chain (as it should be).
As I understand it, the more Thunderbolt drives you have, the faster your overall speed (don't ask me why - it's PR put out by LaCie). I don't think that you'd take any kind of hit putting a Thunderbolt drive or drives between your MBP and your two Thunderbolt Displays.
That's just my understanding...

Weird Digital Display Key Down events

(Using LV 8.51)
I have a slider with the digital display shown. The slider is restricted to 0-50 (I32) I want the user to be able to type 0-50 in the digital display only. I have formated the display as %2d and set all limits. The display allows the user to type any arbitrary number of characters as well an many letters. I figured out the random letters are the allowable numeric prefixas such as k (for kilo). I need to not allow the user to type anything in the numeric display except [0-9][0-9]. I figured that I could filter the key down? event. This did not work. I placed the key down? event and the key down immediatly restricted the typing to a single character. What did I do wrong or is this a bug. Is thare a simpler way of restrictin g the imput (NOT Coersing which is done on the data but limit the input characters). Thanks I am stuck on this one.

I hope I am doing something wrong but I dont see it. It seems that independent of registering for the keydown event the action of the slider changes. I have attached an example.
