W800i fails sync - kind of corrupted addresbook and ical ???
Okay - i choosed to update my sonyeric. w800i and that worked well on the pc with sonys foolsafe software.
It all worked out.
After a few days i tired to sync my phone.
It appreas that isync transfers informations and then fails.
The result is a 75% complete phone book ... argh.
So i tried to send my adresses by the bluetooth comand appleshiftb.
Does not work ...
So is went back to the addressbook and selected each contact and moved one by one to a finder folder and send each contact by the m.a. bluetooth comand to the phone.
It turns out that the phone rejected some contacts.
So i removed them from the addressbook ...
Should work now, right? - Sad, but no ...
So now i'm very frustrated? Whats going on?
I also exported the whole phonebook from my mac account to a new user account ... same thing: failure.
I also repaird the phone few times, read all articles on isync, paired my phone a few times, did a lot of restarts, a lot of reset-pr-ram, repaird permissions on my mac, and yes: i've got the very latest final release of osx software ...
And i tried syncing only the ical events:
Even my ical seems to contain brocken stuff.
Can someone please help? Is there a tool that verifies contacts?
I can not sync contacts one by one ... took forever and is not what i mean by syncing the phone,

sorry for the long wait in this matter.
I did all you asked but again it didn't work out.
1. I removed all "faulty" contacts - however that has happend in the first place.
2. I removed all events, actions etc. from my ical i don't want anymore ...
3. Did all you suggested - thnak you very much.
4. While syncing it repored same errors as reported earlier.
Does it help when i say that he status line in isync reports negative values before nagging me with it's "failure" message?
I think there is no way than to start from scratch - empty all contatcs. Even the used to be okay ones, kill my ical and redo the whole thing and then hopefully get it to sync again ...
Any suggestions on how to empty all caches, hidden datas in adressbook, ical i should read about?
I'm still unhappy with the results so far - i miss the step where i understand how all this comes together to avoid it from happening again!

I recently added my Outlook account via MS Exchange to my iPhone to access my email and outlook calendar. At this time I could still sync iCal as well, and I could chose to view either one, or both calendars at the same time, on my iphone. Then for some reason, about a week later I could only see my outlook calendar on my iPhone.

Why is it when i plug my iphone in to sync,i get a corrupt file message cant sync.It wants to reset my phone back to factory settings and i lose all my phone.It has happened 5 times to me now.
well, you probably have a corrupt file as the message indicates. You will need to reset your phone back to factory settings as indicated.
If you've been using your phone as designed, you've been making frequent backups so that data loss will be minimal, if at all.

How can I sync calendar on phone, iPad and iCal on Mac.
Having trouble since new iCal replaced old version. All 3 devices are not syncing properly-and my iCal on Desktop has erased all my previous entries/categories for appointments since I updated software. Any tips appreciated.

Android Syncing with Mac Address Book and iCal
I'm getting a Motorola Droid (can't get an iPhone due to poor ATT service in my area).
Question: Is it possible to sync directly between Mac iCal and Address Book to Android (Motorola Droid) without intervention from Google sync? (and keeping the information from syncing to Google)
I don't want my contacts and calender stored in Googles cloud.

I don't know why my new 7th Generation Ipod fails sync diags on both Win7 and Win8 computers. I am an admin on both machines. The computer sees the device, but ITunes does not, but yet I can eject the ipod.

It sounds like your iPod nano is recognized by your PCs, but it isn’t recognized by iTunes. Try the suggestions in the article linked below, they will resolve most issues like this.

I cannot install Creative Suite 5.5 on my Windows 7 Professional. I keep getting error message: "Exit Code: 15 - Media DB sync failed". I have disabled UAC and Startup items and Services with no luck. Can you please help?

You are welcome to post any specific errors you are able to discover within your installation log to this discussion. Since you are using Windows then Exit Code 15 could mean one of the following:
Installer database is corrupted
Update pending to your operating system
Improper permissions set for the Media.db
The installation log file should provide additional insight into the exact error you are experiencing. Please make sure to use the find command to look for the words 'ERROR' and 'FATAL' to locate the relevant error messages. -
Can you sync w800i and iCal remotely (ie via web rather than via bluetooth)
I am trying to sync my Sony Ericsson w800i with iCal via the web. My ical is published on .mac. On the w800i there is a synchronization menu that requires entry of a server address, username and password, and then specific app.settings for calendar (Database name, Username and password).
Does anyone know whether it is possible to confgure the w800i to sync using .mac/iCal settings, and if so, what settings to use.
Thank you!The simplest method would have been to use one or more playlists to control what you sync to the iPod nano. You could then sync that same set of playlists to the new device. You cannot sync directly from one device to the other. All content is copied from iTunes. You may be able to export one or more XML playlists from the device, import those back into iTunes, and then add the playlists to your iPad.

Just in the last month I've been getting a failed syncing message in iSync with my T610. Previously for the past 2 years things have worked flawlessly.
This is the error I'm getting:
The connection was lost while sending some changes to the device.
Device "Johns T610" synchronization failed
Any help in troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.

Working with the same configuration, and have no
problems encountered so far.
Some ideas:
1. Perhaps wel known, but after your systemupdates
did you run "repair permissions" ?
2. Also are your systems regularly running the
maintenance (Cron) routines. These empty caches and
logs. You can have this done my keeping your system
up and running overnight or by forcing the routines
with terminal commands or some free/shareware apps.
3. What are you syncing adresses and/or iCal ? What
happens if you sync only one.
I am thinking (if 1 & 2 don't work out) that one of
your files is corrupted.

I have repaired permissions several times a week from the install disc.
I admittedly have started putting it to sleep many (though not all) nights. I'll leave it on tonight. I am syncing only iCal, not address book
I have also run Disk Warrrior and re-paired the phone.

Finally, I tried, im desperation, resetting the device. Same result except this time the phone calendar had been completely erased.

Alright there are multiple aspects to this problem.
Back in February of 2013, I bought the album "Goodbye Lullaby (Deluxe Edition)" by Avril Lavigne. I have 12 albums that I have bought through iTunes throughout the years by her. I had an iPhone 4S and did not update to iOS 7 right away. Later in October I got the new iPhone 5S and already came pre-installed with iOS 7. Somehow, (and I don't know why or how to fix it) a bunch of my songs (again purchased through iTunes) in the cloud are either hidden or erased and I can't seem to download them. When I received my new phone, I downloaded all the songs that were in iCloud. However I noticed that a few were missing. Then a few weeks later I saw that a lot was missing. I had a total 1,497 songs in the cloud, and now it has been reduced to 701 songs. That's about half of the songs that I have spent from $.99-$1.29 on music through itunes since 2004.
Fast forward to November 5. Avril Lavigne (big fan) released her new album. I pre-ordered it back in Septemeber. Normally the day an album is released I go to the album and pressed the cloud with the down arrow. No problem. However when I went to download this album, all it said was that I purchased it- no cloud with arrow, no nothing. I figured that it was in the cloud so I check under the purchase category in the iTunes App on my iPhone 5S. Again, no luck. Somehow when I logged on to my MacBook it downloaded a copy of the record on the computer. (That's fine. As long as I have the music...)
Then another problem springed up. I saw that Goodbye Lullaby was no longer on my phone, however it was in my iTunes library. I tried removing all of my music off the phone. Then ANOTHER problem came up. I unchecked the box saying "Sync Music" on my phone, and pressed sync. Then for some reason it automatically checked Sync Music, and all the playlists on my computer. I did this process multiple times. I updated iTunes, I reinstalled it. Restarted the computer- Nothing. So not only half of my songs are gone from iCloud, my music that is on iTunes is NOT syncing into my phone. Plus I can't take the music off my phone without iTunes checking the Sync Music boxes again.
the 3rd (and last) problem I have is that the music that did install in the sync became corrupted. So when I went to play them, the Music app would skip over them and then delete them instantly. One full album I had just went in a loop and changed songs lightning fast and then when I exited the album, it was delete.
Please let me know if anyone else has any/all of these problems. I will call Apple to straighten all of this out- and I might have to schedule an appt. at the Genius Bar at the retail store (which is an hour away so if I can get this problem solved here or over the phone that would be great)

So I keep trying to sync music to my iPhone from iTunes, and whenever I select the album the sync goes by really fast and nothing goes onto my phone. Then when I click "On this iPhone" it shows the songs, but they're grey, and I can't click on them. Help?
Ok, sorry. And yes, I just restored my iPhone as new and tried to put all the songs on there before I even restored with my previous backup, but it still does the same thing... even when I just checked the option to sync only "selected music or videos". How's that possible?
P.S. After I tried syncing with checked songs only, nothing showed up under Music on my phone and this message popped up in iTunes: "The iPhone "..." could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish." If you could, please tell me what that means, thanks. -
Ipod click wheel corrupted, restored and not seen in I-tunes
I have a 20 gb ipod click wheel that froze. It gave me a message it was corrupted and to restore it back to factory settings. I have restored it to version 3.1.1. currently, itunes does not recognize the ipod at all, therefore I am not able to update it. I have tried two ipod updater's that are on my machine, but they say invalid ipod service version. I have downloaded the latest version of itunes multiple times. I am still unable to update my ipod. Thank you in advance for any help.
Same here. I think the new versions of iTunes have corrupted mine to the point where it doesn't sync, is deemed 'corrupt' and won't restore. I think we may be forced to upgrade.

Failed sync, now ipod will not shutdown, reset or connect to iTunes
Was syncing my ipod touch 4g and the sync failed with a message something along the lines of "cannot sync as there is already a sync running".
Now the ipod is really slow. It will now power off. Hard reset brings it back to the same state. When I plug into PC, itunes hangs for a while, but does not recognise the ipod.
Any suggestions?I would reboot the computer and then place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore it via iTunes on your computer. For recovery mode see:

Having followed the instructions for "if you have never synced your device to itunes" and my computer displayed the message that the device has been restored, my phone is still saying its disabled and I should connect to itunes. What do I do now??
Put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:
