WAAS ANCS to application accelerator conversion process

Hi,
we have 20+ WAAS devices in our network environment, all are running on
Cisco Wide Area Application Services Software (WAAS) &
the device mode is : application-accelerator.
Now we brought the new WAAS which is came with the image as
Application and Content Networking System Software
& the device mode is : content-engine.
Can some one please help me that how can i convert my device mode from content-engine to application accelerator mode.

Use the recovery CD from WAAS to reimage the unit to support WAAS
The ISO can be found at the WAAS software download section if needed.

  • Slow Boot process + can install Intel Application Accelerator IAA

    My system takes almost 35+ seconds to reach the log in screen of windows.. I think its pretty slow.. and secondly can i install Intel Application Accelerator or its only for Intel motherboards..??
    Thanks

    35 seconds feels like a long time, but I dont' think it's that bad. It depends on how may services get started. With time, it will take longer as you install more software.
    The IAA is only required, and only works, with the ICH5R raid setup.

  • Utilizing Cisco WAAS (Wide area application server) to optimize CAD traffic

    Hi all,
    Has anyone used Cisco WAAS (Wide Area Application Server) to optimize CAD traffic for agents sitting at remote site ? if so, does the remote agent really notice any improvement login to CAD or while working in CAD ?
    Thanks in advance for any inputs / suggestions !!!
    D.

    Hi,
    The push-down, the WAAS will push down the signed SMB traffic to Generic AO.
    Be aware that if you turn on SMB signing the optimzations performed will only be TFO/DRE/LZ. The signed SMB/SMBv2traffic is optimized, not accelerated with SMB AO like unsigned SMB/SMBv2 traffic.
    We know this is confusing, whence: CSCub42695.
    I hope answers at least some of your questions.

  • Data Domain - Replication Acceleration vs Application Acceleration?

    http://www.datadomain.com/pdf/DataDomain-Cisco-SolutionBrief.pdf
    I recently read an article by Cisco detailing the WAAS appliances capability to add addional deduplicaion to Data Domain replication traffic being forwarded across the WAN.  After reading the aricle and speaking with my SE.  He recommended a 674 in Application Acceleration mode vs the WAE 7341 in Replication Acceleration mode.  The article also states Application Acceleration mode was used.
    Why is Application Acceleration mode recommended over Replication Acceleration mode for this traffic?
    I have a project requiring 15 - 20 GB / day of incremental backups to be replicated between 3 sites.  The sites are 90 ~ 110ms apart and the links are around 20mbps at each site.  Would a 674 in Application Acceleration mode really make a difference for the Data Domain replications?

    Is their any possibility you could dig up the configuration that was used on the WAAS Application Accelerator during the Data Domain testing.  I see Data Domain replication service runs over port TCP 4126.  My SE recommends disabling the WAE 674s DRE functions for the Data Domain traffic and simply reply on LZ & TFO.  How do you simply disable DRE, but still use LZ and TFO?
    I see 3 common settings;
    action optimize full                                                       LZ+TFO+DRE
    action optimize DRE no compression none          TFO only
    action pass-through                                                    bypass
    Can you do LZ+TFO only?  None of the applications in the link below show this type of action setting.  This leads me to believe my SE was really suggesting turn off DRE completely for the WAAS.
    This WAAS needs to optimize traffic for;
    Lotus-Notes, HTTP, CIFS, Directory Services, RDP, and Data Domain
    Can all applications above + Data Domain be optimized from a pair of WAE 674s in AA mode?

  • While upgrading 574 Application Accelerator to 4.4.7 System Crashed

    I was upgradeing from 4.2.3c to 4.4.7
    I upgraded the Central Manager without a problem
    Went to upgrade the 574 Application Accelerator
    With the following command
    "Copy ftp install ftpserver / waas-universal-4.4.7.4-k9.bin"
    So I ran "reload" and now it freezes at the lines below upon reboot
    dbgrub_start.s
    Booting the Kernel
    Kernal Alive
    Kernal direct mapping tables to la7fff000 @ 8000-10000
    It gets to that point and just freezes.  What would be the best steps to follow to try to get this back up without blowing it away?
    and it hung up d

    Ok, much better. I can connect to it now, but it looks like the configuration is blown away.
    I am not sure what would be the best way to get back online from this point.
    Before upgrading it did a backup and stored it locally on the disc.  Is there a way to get that backup restored?  Should I be using the 4.2.3c rescue disk to acomplish this, or can I use the 4.4.7 that I am upgrading it to?
    Also I have a backup that I ran from management connection from HTTPS:
    Can I use the 4.4.7 rescue cd blow the old system away then do a restore from this backup that I made from the cisco wae under the backup tab?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Is there a way to stop and then resume an ipod video conversion process?

    I am trying to convert videos to play on my new iPod Classic. The conversion process is painfully slow. I need to move the computer. Is there a way to stop the conversion process and then resume it later where you left off? The only way I have been able to figure it out is to put the laptop to sleep and then open it up later to resume. This is a problem too as I have an external USB drive hanging off the side. Any ideas?
    Thanks all in advance for your help.

    AFAIk you can just uninstall Thunderbird and reinstall. The profile will not be deleted. If you want to make sure, however, make a backup of your profile folder first.
    Read up on "backup", e.g. here : http://email.about.com/od/mozillathunderbirdtips/qt/et_backup_prof.htm
    (google is your friend :9 )
    P.S. _ Matter of fact you should regularly backup your data (e.g. your thunderbirdprofile) to some place different so as not to loose it all, if a thunderbird-bug/virus/windows-failure/Layer8-Problem corrupts your data.

  • EXECUTE_METHOD_BOR - Application method has processed message 'E'; see long

    Hi All,
                I am having the following error in the workflow. Actually the WF was working fine and the past few days i am getting this error.
    EXECUTE_METHOD_BOR - Application method has processed message 'E'; see long text
    Actually the error occurs in the sub WF, in the method cancel invoice. it has one return variable the l_return but the method is not returning any value. The step is a background step.
    The error is
    Application method has processed message 'E'; see long text
    Message no. SWF_RUN669
    Diagnosis
    The workflow runtime system has called an application method in a tRFC or background context. A message was processed within this application method. This results in work item processing being terminated in this context.
    The processed message has the following parameters:
    ID: CRM_ORDER_MISC
    Type: E
    Number: 106
    System ResponseThe workflow runtime system has recognized this status and has caught the message. The status of the active work item is set to 'ERROR'.
    Procedure
    Identify the message statement in the application method and replace it with the command "Message....Raising". If the method is part of the standard shipment, create an OSS message for the relevant application component.
    Procedure for System Administration
    Once you have corrected the method, restart the workflow instance concerned by using Workflow administration.
    I started the WF from SWPR still the error persists. I dont know whether the error is in the method or in trfc.
    Kindly suggest what to do.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Application Engine Server process dies on Windows

    Hi experts,
    We developed an AE in which employee data will be calculated and inserted to HR core table via CI. We started multiple instance of the AE by people code, most of them will success but others run into error and reported "Process XXX is marked 'Initiated' or 'Processing' but no longer running.". On further research we found the windows process (PSAESRV) died and a folder named PSAESRV.PID was generated in process scheduler log directory. The following can be found in "process_state.txt" in the directory:
    Exception: (0xC0000005) EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION - Memory access violation
    (The memory at 0x00133000 could not be read)
    Exception location:
    Fault address=0x2500b836 0001:0000a836 C:\PT850\BIN\SERVER\WINX86\pscmnutils.dll
    Other information:
    Tools: 8.50
    Server:Windows XP SP3.
    Database:Oracle 10.2.0.1.0.
    Could any one figure out what's the problem?
    Edited by: user9546195 on 2010-12-7 下午10:32

    Yes it's running on Windows XP professional. We run the test both in Linux Server and Windows XP.  So far no error has been found in Linux Server.  We began performance test and found the error on Windows XP on April,2010. Then we refine the code and test again these days, and the error happens again with the same error message.
    *Not sure whether the Peopletools is up-to-date or not, the version of modules can be found in the "process_state.txt" file of the dead process. Attached below is the file.
    Thanks!

  • Conversion process(job work - MTO) delivery issue

    Hi All,
    We are unable to create delivery for a conversion process sales order(Job work - MTO) for which stocks are reserved from 5th nov 2011. The sale order is created on 5th nov 2011.
    We are getting the following error message: Message no. VL455 "The sales order you want to deliver, sales order 1101200011 with order type ZO03, either contains no delivery-relevant items or its delivery-relevant items have already been delivered."
    For the same sale order we are able to do the delivery from 23rd nov 2011 onwards.
    But we are not able to create deliver for the materials between 5th to 23rd.
    Please could any one suggest a solution for the above issue.
    Regards
    Srinivas
    Edited by: yenigalla on Nov 4, 2011 9:15 AM

    Hie,
    This is because the schedule line in the sales order has confirmed the date for delivery as 23rd novemner. If the material is available (it should be reserved for that sales order since it is MTO) at 3rd novbr then re-run the availability check in the sales order. This will confirm the date for delivery as 3rd novbr.
    Regards,
    Denish.

  • Application Engine inbound Process

    Hi all,
    am new from peoplesoft.
    anyone knows how to write application Engine inbound process.
    please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    RS

    Hey Inbound threw Application engine is a simple process
    take a new file layout from application designer
    drag & drop your record into file lay out definition page
    go to Preview panel & select segment (your record) name , browse the flat file
    go to properties -- use -- File Layout Format check exel format ok
    drag your file layout into AE actions ,automatically it generates code. now Run or else use this code
    Define a file,array,string,record
    Assign values to the above using functions GetFile , CreateArrayRept , text file for string,GetRecord .
    Check the file status open using IsOpen ,read the first value of flat file using ReadLine
    Push the text into array ,next step split
    assign to the record field values Local File &myfile;
    Local array of string &myarray;
    Local string &text;
    Local Record &rec;
    &myfile = GetFile("C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\office.txt", "r", %FilePath_Absolute);
    &myarray = CreateArrayRept("", 0);
    &rec = CreateRecord(Record.IN1_TBL);
    If &myfile.IsOpen Then
    While &myfile.ReadLine(&text);
    &myarray.Push(&text);
    &myarray = Split(&text, ",");
    &rec.IN1_NAME.Value = &myarray [1];
    &rec.IN1_LOCATION.Value = &myarray [2];
    &rec.Insert();
    End-While;
    End-If;
    &myfile.Close();

  • How can I restart the conversion process?

    When I installed I-tunes the program started converting my WMA files to the AAC format. I let it run all day but at the end of the day I had to shut down the computer, so I stopped the process figuring it would restart when I restarted the program the next day. It does not do that. The only way I can find to do the conversion is one album at a time. Is there a way to restart the automatic conversion process?
    Compaq Presario v5000   Windows XP

    I don't know of an automated way to do it, but it is easy enough to do it yourself in one large batch. Note I use a Mac version of iTunes and still use iTunes6, but the following should be more or less the same anyway.
    Right click the headings in your library and you will get a pop up of all the different headings. Turn on "Type" by checking it. Type is a column showing the encoding method (e.g. AAC, MP3, AIFF, WAV, etc.). Now you can click on this heading to sort your library by encoded Type. So now all the WAV files should be grouped together. You can now easily select the entire batch of WAV files, right click, and pick "Convert to xxx" where xxx is the encoder type you currently have set in your preferences for importing files. So if it is not in the format you want, go to preferences and change it. Once you pick the Convert function it will convert all the selected files to the new format.
    Note that converting makes a copy leaving the original in place. So the other advantage of having the ability to sort and select a large number of files by Type is that you can also select all the WAV files to delete in one step after you have converted them all.

  • Oracle conversion process

    We are moving from Access to Oracle. I am new at this. How does the conversion process work?

    Oracle has its migration tool. You could go to their Migration Workbench discuss group to get more help. I am trying to migrate from MS SQL Server to Oracle too. :-)

  • Tranport Application Component of Process Chain

    Hi Gurus,
                   I want to collect and transport the application component of process chains. Please help to provide the solution.
    Thanks
    Ganesh Reddy.

    Thanks,
                  Here is the solution.
    You can create a transport and add an entry in it
    R3TR TABU RSCOMPTLOGOT
    Go to change mode, and expand this entry in the request and add the key you want to transport(you will need to specify which app component - you can put an * there )
    The key you would want to transport would be ERSPC* (Where E is for lang = english, RSPC is the type, and * is for all app comp) or ERSPC
    RSCOMPTLOGOT is the table where these components are defined. You need to transport the corresponding entries from this table.
    Thanks
    Ganesh Reddy.

  • Akamai ip application accelerator to improve LCCS Audio/Video

    Greetings,
    We are using Audio/Video components
    in some cases (5% of the sessions) the Audio/Video quality is not so good
    Has anyone tried using Akamai ip application accelerator to improve rtmfp flow?
    See: http://www.akamai.com/html/solutions/ip_application_accelerator.html
    Thanks,
    Zeev

    I've never tried that but we found we needed to adjust video and audio
    quality on the fly, depending on network conditions to keep a quality Audio
    and Video call going.
