  • SAP PM stand-alone with Baan ERP ?

Does anyone have experience with implementing SAP PM module with Baan ERP ?
I don't think that this is a good idea at all, but I just wanted to check if someone already did it, and how much it did cost.
    Many thanks for your feedback.
    Best regards,
    Hervé

    Bonjour Hervé,
I don't think that this idea has been seriously explored, as Baan ERP is a distinct ERP system from SAP, and SAP PM is only one module of the latter. As such, SAP PM is driven by the integration with other SAP ERP components (and non-ERP components, by extension) to the point that using SAP PM functionalities, while not utilising other core SAP ERP functionality, would be severely cost-ineffective... It is a much better option to switch to SAP ERP throughoutm, or look at other options for integrating into Baan ERP.

  • BI4.0 with Baan ERP LN

    Hi,
We are using BO3.1 for reporting against Baan V ERP. Now we are implementing Baan ERP LN (New version of Baan) for some sites.
We have already migrated all Non Baan (other database/applications) reports to BI4.0 SP5 version.
My question here is did any one tried to connect BI4.0 with Baan ERP LN ?. Is there is any new features are limitations?
Please share your experience and idea's.
    Thanks...

I have battled with INFO ERP, both with BAAN AND LN.
Please list down the file system you are using and the storage vendor along with specs ? If you are using ZFS, you might wanna do some tuning at there.
Most of the sql's with "hint" first rows should work fine except the "SALES ORDER ONE". You might wanna take out the hint and check the execution plan.
Please list down all specific questions and i will try to answer them.

  • Difference in SAP R/3 Financials and MY SAP ERP Financials

    Hi ALL,
Can any one tell me the difference in SAP R/3 Financial and MY SAP ERP Financial
    Thank and Regards
    Kedar

My SAP ERP provides additional analytics such as financial analytics, workforce analytics and operations analytics. We get employee life cycle management and employee relationship management and there's a financial supply chain component.
The NetWeaver piece gives you portal capabilities and better integration capabilities for integrating applications with applications from other vendors.

  • Designing database structure and SSAS Tabular Model cubes

    Hi.
I need to design a database and SSAS tabular models for my clients but I am confused which way I should implement it.
Data for all the clients is stored into a single database with unique ClientId for each client, such 15 tables I have under a single database which stores information about all the clients.
Task is to create a SharePoint Site collection for each client which will display Power View Dashboard by taking data from above database.
Till now I have created a SSAS Tabular Model for each client, XClientModel, YModelClient  using BIDS and using SQL Queries to extract data for respective clients(select * from Table1 where ClientID="X") and using Power View external connection
to this model, have created Dashboard and other SharePoint information.
I am not sure if creating different Model is suitable or I should first separate data for each client into separate database and then create Model based on respective client's database.
Can Some one highlight pros and cons on using
SINGLE database with Multiple Tabular Model (One with Many) AND Separate Database with it's Model(One to One) ?
This is understandable but just putting it here........Imp Note: Data for X client shouldn't be visible to Y client on SharePoint.
Please let me know if further information is required.

    Hi Sgms,
In your description, you said that all the clients information were stored in a single database, now you want to know which method is better, single database with Multiple Tabular Model or separate database with it's Model?
In your scenario, all the information were stored in a single database, why do you want to separate it or create multiple tabular model? If you create multiple model, then you need change the data source to create PowerView dashboard for each client. As
per my understanding, you just need create one tabular to load all the information. And then use this model to create PowerView dashboard. Using filter to display the information for each client.

  • Scenario for interface between a non sap system and a SAP erp

    Hello,
I need some help in order to elaborate a interface between a SAP ERP and a non-sap system with the help of a XI system.
       -  At first regarding the interface from the non sap system and a SAP ERP :
the non sap system sends a flat file to the XI system. The flat file contains a row with header data and rows with item data. We were thinking when the file arrives to the XI system, to save the data in a header database and in a items database in XI. is it possible ?
And then to have like a job that reads the database and creates idoc and sends them to the SAP erp and updates the xi header and items database  with a flag that means that the records have been sent to the SAP erp.
       -   Regarding the interface SAP erp to non SAP system:
the SAP erp sends idoc to XI. Then the idocs are transformed into flat file.
    Is this scenario possible ?
Do we need any adaptator between the non sap system and the XI ?
    Thank you for your help
    Christophe

    Hi Bontron,
Idoc doesnot support synchronous call. So you can use either proxy or function module and inturn call the idoc from them and send response back to xi. You need to have two scenarios for your design.
Scenario1:   Source File (file adapter) -- xi -- Dump into database tables (Jdbc Adapter)
Scenrio2:  Pickup form Database tables  (Jdbc Adapter) -- xi -- RFC Adapter  ---> This is synchronous call.
Regarding the interface SAP erp to non SAP system
You can send idoc to xi and from there use File adapter to send to the receiving system.
These blogs may help you to some extent:
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/06/01/file-to-jdbc-adapter-using-sap-xi-30
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/step%2bby%2bstep%2bRFC%2bto%2bJDBC%2bscenario   (your scenario will be opposite to this)

  • How to install Studio, DataTools, SSIS and SSAS to SQL Server 2014 RTM DataWarehousing

I have fresh installation of VM. Plan is to build DW and SSAS OLAP Cube.
How to install needed services and tools as they are not installed as default?
If I click SQL Server Installation Center and choose Installation and New SQL Server, I'm guided to choose file, but don't know where to find.
    Kenny_I

    Hi Kenny_I,
According to your description, you want to add SQL Srever Data Tools, SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Analysis Services to your existing installation, so you click SQL Server Installation Center and choose Installation and New SQL Server,
nad now you are guided to choose file, right?
In this case, you need to choose the folder which contains SQL Server installation media. I have tested it on my local environment, after select correct folder and click "Ok" button, everything works fine.

  • SQL Server SSRS, SSIS and SSAS services

    Dear Gurus,
I am Reinstalling SAP B1 Server and during MS SQL Server installation have been assigned the tasked to discover SQL Server SSRS, SSIS and SSAS. Which SQL Server 2005 version is suitable for the above services. Please advice.

    Hi,
Most of SQL Server 2005 versions are supporting those services. Which version are you planing to install?

  • WAAS and IP SLA operation

we are currently using the IP SLA udp jitter measurement to monitor our voice paths accross the WAN. If we implement a partial WAAS across the same WAN the voice traffic will be acellerated but not the IP SLA jitter measurement. Does this mean that when WAAS is implemented IP SLA is limited in its use?

    Hi Steve,
The answer to your question depends on 1) how you deploy WAAS and 2) how you use IP SLA.  If you deploy WAAS using WCCP for interception, UDP traffic will never be intercepted.  If the WAAS device is deployed inline, all traffic flows through the WAAS device, so an IP SLA probe using UDP will be subject to WAAS pass-through handling behavior.
What are you trying to measure with regards to WAAS?

  • WAAS and Juniper Netscreen Interoperability

I've been doing a dig on historical posts relating to WAAS deployed through firewalls.
I am working on a deployment with Juniper Netscreens & ASA5520 sitting between WAE's. IP connectivity is fine. I can ssh to remote device etc. but users cannot login (XP). The login scripts calls upon CIFS etc and I suspect this is being broken through the fw's.
When I disable WAAS for this flow - it all works fine i.e. users can login and access full set of corporate resources. I suspect the firewalls but would appreciate any leads..
    thanks
    Ajaz

    Hi Ajaz,
WAAS adds TCP Option 0x21 and increments TCP packet sequence number during TCP handshake. FW needs to be configured to allow
    these changes.
On the latest PIX/ASA a new command "ip inspect waas" has been added to allow above changes by wae. You might want to check
Netscreen config guide on command to disable TCP sequence number checking.
If SSH to Servers is working fine then it might not be FW dropping packets. However to confirm it might be best to use
tcpdump/tethereal on both WAEs and to sniff the traffic on whether its being dropped along the path by the FW.
    Few questions:
    - Whats the version running on WAEs?
    - Is it only CIFS traffic which is affected? Try disabling CIFS AO if its enabled and then test.
    Hope this helps,
    Best Regards,
    Rahul Vavale

  • WAAS and TACACS

We are trying to get our WAAS environment to authenticate against TACACS and then fall over to local if TACACS is unavailable. For engineer logins everything is working as expected. However we are seeing several thousand failures against the TACACS server from a username of "CMS". This user is not configured in the CM or in TACACS. So we log the failed login and CMS logs into the WAE due to the failover to local mechanism. Looking at packet captures, and debugging aaa on the WAE's it is definitely a CMS user that logs in but shows 127.0.0.1 as its "from" host. I am fairly confident this is automation within the WAE syncing with the CM or vice versa. Does anyone know how to get WAAS and TACACS to work together without a mass amount of login failures? Is there a way this CMS user can be cloned/duplicated on the tacacs server? What is the password for this automation user?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Stan,
WAE can authenticate against TACACS, RADIUS and Central Manager (Local) at any time depending on your configuration.
There are couple of things to keep in mind while configuring TACACS on WAE, on both sides - TACACS adn WAE CM.
    On TACACS side:
    1. Please make sure to create right username.
    2. Please make sure to verify if you are using ASCII password authentication.
    3. Try to use less than 15 letters - Alphanumeric TACACS password.
    4. Please provide right user level / group level persmissions. This is somewhere under user account properties. Please also make sure to select right user password under user properties.
    5. Verify if this user needs level 15 (admin equivalent account).
    On WAE CM side:
    1. Please make sure to select right authentication method as primary and secondary.
    2. Please make sure to enable the check box for authentication methods.
You can verify the failure / successful log events on TACACS server in order to find out if the user is atleast trying to authenticate against TACACS.
I am sure you have looked at this link to find out all the required steps: Configuring TACACS+ Server Settings
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • WAAS and Symantec Vertitas Volume Replicator

    Hi,
We are forwarding Symantec replication traffic via our WAAS infrastructure over a 20Mb WAN link. The CM appears to register the traffic but does not optimize it at all. Has anyone had any experience with WAAS and Symantec Veritas Volume Replicator (VVR) 4.3?

I tested with VVR in the lab. VVR default uses UDP and using the nerd knob in the GUI did not force VVR to start using TCP. To get VVR to use TCP, I had to input these commands:
    vrport data 1999-1999
    vrport heartbeat 2000-2000
or use what ever ports you want to use. The previous answer was asking if you were seeing TCP sessions in the WAE's. This can be seen by telneting to the WAE and issueing a "show tfo connection summary". Can you post the output of that command?

  • WAAS and 512 Deployment

Attach is the Visio as well as config for the India site. The Visio has 2 tabs (POC-WAAS and Proposed-WAAS). The POC (Proof of Concept) tab does not have the spare 3660 installed yet but I plan to do that soon. The "Proposed WAAS" is where we would want to be. However, my question will most likely address POC tab with the preparation to move to the Proposed tab.
    Current assumptions:
Since we have a Manager in India, we will be getting another Manager in Calif, If so, I would like to setup a Primary/Standby deployment for redundancy.
    Questions:
    1. For Calif Primary WAE, the visio shows a Management interface but do I need a management interface or is it better to go with a standby interface instead as well as use MHSRP?
    2. Since we have a high speed link (4 Mb Internet for VPN in POC but 10mb WAN for proposed), should we tune the buffers to the max? If so how?
    3. Is this a recommend design for California? for India?
    4. Is my configs a recommend configs for California 3660 in POC? If so, what do I need to change in 3825 in Proposed?

    Zach
After reading the SRND, I believe the best design is to move the 512 to the Cores. Please see the updated Visio and planned configs. Here's my updated requirements:
    1. Calif is hub
    2. All traffic to India (10.2/10.26) should go through the VPN tunnel through (ASA5520)
    3. All traffic to 10.3 and 10.5 should go through WAN via (R-Voice2)
    4. Latency to India is btwn 280 to 340msec and BW is 2mb. Do I also need to be concern with the BDP, L2 redirect(forwarding), and Mask assignments?
    TIA
