I need to convert the mode to application-accelerator and also downgrade version to 4.4. Could please somebody suggest me the procedure?

Hi Kashish,
The Box is actually running a completely different software ACNS. Download the WAAS rescue CD from Cisco.com, then reboot the box with the disk in it. It should boot to the WAAS recovery menu. Run the following options: 2,3,5,7.

  • WAAS 4.4.5 upgrade to 4.5.1?

My WAAS deployment is currently at 4.4.5 and I just got a hold of 4.5.1 through my account manager. Not sure if I can do a direct upgrade or not since the release notes for 4.5.1 states the following:
Upgrading to Version 4.5.1 is supported only from  Versions 4.1.1d, 4.1.3, 4.1.3b, 4.1.5c, 4.1.5f, 4.1.7, 4.1.7a, 4.1.7b,  4.2.1, 4.2.3, 4.2.3c, 4.3.1, 4.3.3, 4.3.5, 4.4.1, 4.4.3, and 4.4.3a. If  you want to upgrade a WAAS device running a different version, first  upgrade to the next supported version in the list, and then upgrade to  the current 4.5.1 version.
From what I understand 4.5.1 is built off of 4.4.3 with the only added functionality being the Citrix ICA optimizer (which is what I want). Does anyone have any experience with this or know for a fact that it can be done without causing any issues?
    Thanks, Jan

Actually I found the answer after reading the release notes for the current version I am using. The following is from those notes:
Downgrading from Version 4.4.5x to a Previous Version
Note the following guidelines and considerations for downgrading:
•A downgrade is supported only to Versions 4.5.1,
Makes sense considering 4.5 is based on 4.4.3.

  • WAAS optimisation between different WAAS OS versions

    Hi,
We are replacing WAAS devices WAVE - 7371 with WAVE - 7541. There are 6 WAAS devices at this location and we have already replaced one of existing 7371 with 7541. The 7541 are running OS 5.0.3 as we are running OS 4.4.7 on WAAS CM and WAAS devices at other locations (200+) we have not yet enabled wccp on the new device and not registered this device in WAAS CM.
In next few days, we have to upgrade all the 7371 with 7541. I would like to know , if the traffic optimisation will happen between the WAAS devices running 2 different WAAS OS versions.
I don't want to downgrade the OS on 7571, WAAS devices in other location will be upgraded to OS 5 after few months.
    please advice...

    Hi John,
    Thanks for the info..
Unfortunately, we cannot hold replacing the WAVE 7371 devices till the upgradation of WAAS CM. As we need to return them to the vendor .
As a work arround, can I replace them with 7541 and enable optimisation without registering the WAVE 7371 in the WAAS CM,till the we get approvals for upgrading the WAAS OS ver 5 on remaining ( 200 +) devices including the WAAS CM
It will still optimise the traffic between WAAS devices at other locations right ?

  • WAAS Upgrade CM path from 4.4.7 WAE-512 to 5.4 vCM

I have a deployed WAAS system running 4.4.7 and the old WAE hardware is all on the EOL clock or not supporting 5.4 at all.   The budge fairies had money at the end of the year so I've got new WAVE boxes and vCM 5.4 DVDs to deploy.
My question is what is the upgrade process for the CMs?
Can I simply spin up  two 5.4 vCMs as a secondary CMs to the 4.4.7 primary CM on a WAE-512, then make one the primary?  That would assume that a 5.4 secondary could sync to and then take over directly from a 4.4.7 primary.  That's the bit that I have doubts about.
Or would I have to start with vCMs at 4.4.7 to get them to sync, then take over as primary and upgrade them?  Is there a 4.4.7 vCM image?
If that's a dead end, I saw another discussion about downgrading a WAVE-294.   I'm thinking one could be downgraded to 4.4.7, joined as a secondary CM, promoted to primary, and then upgraded as a stepping stone to vCMs at 5.4.  Then the '294 would be deployed back as accelerator as originally intended.  Any pitfalls with this?
Or is there a simpler path that I'm missing entirely?
Also can anyone confirm that the RJ-45 console ports on the WAVE-*94 have the same pin-out as traditional Cisco switch RJ-45 console ports?
    Thanks.

    Hi Edward,
For the upgrade process, you'll have to follow this procedure :
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v541/release/note/waas541xrn.html#pgfId-171257
So either down grade your vCM to 4.4.7 (this requires that it is a vCM-100 or -2000)
    - there probably is a vCM 4.4.7 image out there somewhere, but these could be hard to get.
    - or just use the "copy ... install" on your vCM, to get it downgraded.
or use the 294 method (same methodology applies)
But as I see it, there is no need to play around wit ha secondary CM, you don't need the CM to ensure optimization, when things are up and running.
You can easily change a CM to an accellerator by configuration and a reload, unless we're taking vWAAS, where the ova image is locked.
remember to take a backup of your CMS database and place it somewhere else, before starting upgrading.

  • TACACS configuration on WAAS

I am trying to configure tacacs on a WAAS device using 4.1.1c. I have configured the tacacs server to allow the user to login using privilege level 7 then the user is required to enable the device and login again to reach privilege level 15.
When ever i login then enable the device I am getting the following error
Error: Wrong Admin Password. Try again...
I can get the user to login straight to level 15 but this doesn't follow our security requriements.
has anyone seen this before or experienced this issue?
    Thanks
    Matt

    Matt,
The current TACACS implementation in WAAS supports command levels 0 and 15. Levels 1-14 are downgraded to 0.

  • How do I upgrade from WAAS CM on WAE-7326 to vWAAS CM

My WAAS network comprises of WAE-612 and WAE-7326 Running Sotware version 4.3.3.1, these are old and we are now going to Cisco 3945 Routers with SRE WAAS and the vWAAS as Central Manager.
The problem is how do I get the configuration across from the 7326 that is a CM to the vWAAS CM?
Can the vWAAS run software version 4.4? if so my standyby CM is a WAE612 which can be upgraded to 4.4, so I would make that the primary CM the new vWAAS as standby, so then the configuration would go across to the new vWAAS. once done make the vWAAS primary again, then install a second vWAAS as standby.
    is the above possible?
I can't find any documentation about upgrading the WAAS nework

    Hi Edward,

  • Looking for the Proper WAAS Upgrade Path

A while back I started upgrading some of our WAAS 274/574 devices and once I got halfway through I relized I was on the wrong path to get the devices to accelerate and compress Native ICA for our Citrix sessions.
So Currently I have half our devices at 4.3.3c and the other half at 4.4.7
    So my questions are....
What is the latest greatest version that I should be at for Native ICA Acceleration?
What is the best upgrade/downgrade path I should take to get there?

    Dan,
It is recommended/required to run 4.2.1 (or a later version) before you install Version 5.3.1
You cannot upgrade from 4.0, 4.1, or 4.2 to 5.3.1 since it is NOT supported
Here you have a link about it:

  • WAAS Critical Issue - Producing Outages

    Hi All,
We have a setup to which we are going to implement WAAS. Datacenter having One Central Manager(512) + WAE (512) and Branch location having WAE (512).
Both the Core WAE and Branch WAE are registered to CM and shows online. But Branch WAE is flapping between online and offline states.
The Following Shows the IOS versions
    CM WAAS version 4.0.19
WAE (Inline Card) : WAAS version 4.1.1c
Branch WAE : WAAS version 4.0.17
We thought of swapping the boxes of Core WAE and Branch WAE and the Problem still persist. After further troubleshooting we found that their is a mismatch in IOS Version.
Please suggest whether this offline state occurs because of this IOS version or not ?
Branch WAE : WAAS version 4.0.17

    Hi DAN,
Thanks for the Response , we are anticipatingly trying to sort out the issue.
Please inform whether the Device going to offline with CM, will optimize the traffic or not. If so do we require to downgrade one of the WAE having 4.1 to 4.0 version???

  • Help Needed: Returning Back to Windows 8 after downgrading to Windows 7

Hi guys, im just new here.
I have a MSI GE40 gaming laptop which I bought 2 months back.
Within those 2 months of usage, I always encounter my laptop to be very slow in shutting down. It always take, maybe up to 10 minutes to fully shut down. The screen goes black but the power button stays on orange color, & as I said, it takes a long time  for the power button to be completely unlit. But for start up, its blazing fast.
Thinking that windows 8 itself is the culprit of super slow shutting down, I searched the net on how to downgrade to windows 7.
Of course I did make a back up first on a 16gb usb flash drive using the pre-installed recovery software from MSI which was completed successfully.
Then I made some tweaks on the bios (ie select legacy & disable secure boot) & boot using windows 7 installation DVD, deleted all partitions (since the notebook comes with GPT partition) to be able to install windows 7. I installed all the drivers which I downloaded from MSI website specific to my notebook.
But the problem is not solved, it is still very slow in shutting down, & now even boot up becomes very slow too.
So I downloaded & execute the firmware & bios for windows 7 from msi website (again, specific to my model). But still the same, the notebook is still very slow both in shutting down & start up.
So I decided to go back again to windows 8, I tried to boot from the flash drive (I adjusted from the bios & make the flash drive to be the first priority) but it did not boot from it. I tried F11 on start up & selected to boot from usb flash drive but again, to no avail.
So the last one I did was downloaded windows 8, make a bootable flash drive out of it, boot from it and luckily, I succeed - I have now again a windows 8 msi ge40 laptop.
But I wanted my laptop to be reinstated to factory setting, i.e, all preinstalled softwares are there, the bios is default for windows 8. So I tried to update the bios to the one for windows 8 again (since I downgraded the bios to the one for windows 7 when I downgraded the OS to windows 7). But I could not update the bios, the laptop is not booting from usb flash drive containing the bios.
I tried also to recover using F3 on start up but the system does not recognize the flash drive (with system back up). I tried also on PC settings but to no avail.
Now guys, I need your help.
How can I return back my laptop to default factory settings?
    Thank you.
(sorry for my not so good English)

    Hello:
I think it's not only about the OS version, you need to return this back to your shop to repair with the slow shot down issue, because the OS should be shot down in 30 seconds, far from your GE40 times.

  • 10.6.8 update downgrades USB

I have just updateded my MacMini Server to 10.6.8 and this seems to have downgraded my USB ports to 1.1.
This is according to Elgato EyeTV which no longer recognizes my EyeTV Hybrid. I get a dialogue advising that my Hybrid is plugged into a USB 1.1 port and that to operate it must be connected to a USB 2 port. Any clues to what the problem is, or has my USB really been knackered by the update?

    That happened to me too.
I have a Terratec Cinergy XS that worked perfectly under 10.6.7 (and still does, on my other Mac).
Upgrading to 10.6.8 gave me the same exact problem with EyeTV.
There's something in the new IOUSBFamily.kext release that causes this problem (googling around I saw that 10.6.8 gave many USB problems to the "hackintosh" world too).
I've experienced that if I unplug and replug the USB receiver, EyeTV recognizes the device properly connected and works flawlessly (at least until the next restart); the problem is I cannot schedule unattended next-day video recordings as EyeTV will give the same problem at next Mac restart.
You could try (as "hackintoshist" do) to downgrade the IOUSBFamily.kext to the 10.6.7's one, this should fix the problem; I have not tried this yet.

  • Problem with downgrading bios. MSI P67A-GD65 (B3).

    Hi!
I'm having problems with downgrading my bios from version 4.3 to 1.19. I want to downgrade, because 4.3 doesn't want to boot when I use xmp settings for my RAM ( that might be related to my CPU since I have i5 2500k which is 32nm and 4.3 version of BIOS is recommended for 22nm processors ). When I try to flash with the MSI Forum HQ USB Flashing Tool I'm getting an error: "Rom file ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS ROMID". I've ran out of ideas how to downgrade my bios so I'm asking you for help. My specs:
    MOBO: MSI P67A-GD65 (B3)
    CPU: INTEL CORE i5 2500K
    RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAWS X 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHZ CL6 (F3-12800CL6D-4GBXH)

    Here you go. GD65 and GD55 usde the same BIOS files;

  • Message: You will run out of storage when your downgrade takes effect

In my email, I received a message today with the subject
You will run out of storage when your downgrade takes effect
I looked in my account and don't see anywhere where I've set it to downgrade. It's still set at the correct level. I checked the credit card to make sure it hadn't expired.
Any thoughts of what else I could check?
    Here's the email:
As requested, your iCloud storage will be downgraded to 5 GB on 02/27/2015. However, you are currently using 6 GB.
Unless you take action before your downgrade takes effect, backups to iCloud will stop, and apps will no longer be able to save documents to iCloud. You can either free up storage or cancel your downgrade to keep your current storage plan for another year.
To continue using these iCloud features without interruption, you can cancel your downgrade by selecting a different storage plan:
    1.
On your iOS device, go to Settings and tap iCloud
    2.
    Tap Account.
    3.
Tap your current plan, then choose from the options presented
For more information on managing your iCloud storage, please read this Learn how to manage your iCloud storage >.
    The iCloud Team

Sounds to me like you're not the original owner of the device.
Did you buy it secondhand? From where?

  • Downgrading Oracle database ( Version 9.2.0.8.0 to 9.2.0.6.0)

    Hi All,
I am working as development Dbs. I had upgraded Oracle DB 9.2.0.1.0 to version 9.2.0.8.0 for some testing purpose in Windows XP(32bit). I didnt take the backup before applying patch. Now they want to downgrade the db to 9.2.0.6.0. How can i do that? Is there any patch for that? or Is there any patch for downgrading to 9.2.0.1.0? Please let me know a solution.
    Thanks,
    Manikandan

I meant if the COMPATIBLE parameter has been set to something greater than 9.2.0.1 or 9.2.0.6 (depending on which you want to downgrade to). If it is still 9.2.0.0 that is fine.
Check the patch documentation for rolling back the 9.2.0.8 patch.
