WAAS Mobile Server Time/Date incorrect

Hi,
I cannot seem to find where I configured the time/date settings for the WAAS mobile server.
The Win 2008 server that the Mobile server is installed on has the right time, but the WAAS mobile server itself does not.
At the moment it is using GMT.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Where do you see this GMT timestamp?  It may be by design.

  • Server Time/Date ?

How can i get Server Time/Date from an applet

You can't without making a request to the server. An applet is simply a bunch of bytecode that is downloaded to the client and executed there. Once the applet has been downloaded to the client, it has no connection to the server.
To make the connection to the server from the applet, you can make a HttpURLConnection to your server (the applet sandbox will allow this if it is the same server the applet came from) and request a servlet URL. The servlet you request can simply grab the server date/time, format it as text, and return it in the HttpServletResponse as tyle "text/plain". Your applet can then parse the text back into a date object and proceed.

  • Mobile itemisation - times are incorrect

A new month a new problem - and it's another one which clearly shows that there was little or no testing before the software was released.
Just got my latest mobile bill to download and headed for the option to grab the itemisation as a csv file. Lots of stuff in there that I'm not too sure I needed to know, but it's not difficult to ignore columns that might be wanted by other folk.
The big trouble is that the itemisation call times are riddled with errors - loads of calls and texts in the middle of the night! Digging around with the csv file and comparing it to the pdf bill copy, i discover that all afternoon & evening calls have been time shifted back 12 hours. A bit more sorting shows calls and texts only display as from 01:00 to 12:59. Looks to me as if they have taken data that was formatted in AM / PM style and then just grabbed part of it, so all are treated as AM - why on earth didn't they use the original call record which is held in 24hr format!!
So, when will this be fixed and what delights await me next month? Presumably, this will be like all the other errors and data losses from previous months - never corrected and backdated, so every bill since February with something wrong ......
Oh, and by the way, the pdf bill version still only shows the 1st 2 minutes of "call home free" and misses out the (potentially very long) continuation data - although the csv does have it this month.
    David

Well, a month has gone by and of course the next bill comes out with exactly the same faults!
Are the poor mods not allowed to tell us that they have been instructed to bin all complaints made via here, or does the team they pass them to bin the problems and lie to our mods that action is being taken?
I have had enough and will now be taking a rather more aggressive legal line. A bill that has been proven to contain errors of fact cannot be legally enforced, and once evidence of my numerous challenges is produced, I would expect any adjudicator to find against a cowboy organisation who fail to rectify or respond.
Also time to get a formal complaint in via the Chairman's office - much tighter timescales that have to be met and higher management visibility of failures. Enough of these will affect the annual bonus for the individual managers, as they all have customer perception targets to meet.
I think it's time to seek compensation too - I'm having to hack what data I can scrape out and eventually mangle it into something usable to apportion costs across my family users. Why should I have to spend hours of my time fixing what should have been done months ago?
Mods - you've been sent my info once already, so I'm sure you can find out who you passed it to last time and give them a boot up the proverbial .....

  • WAAS Mobile HA between 2 Data Centres

We have to deploy WAAS Mobile between 2 Data Centres, with remote user connecting to either DC across VPN & then connecting to a local WAAS Mobile server. We are trying to understand the best way to configure this from the available documentation on CCO.
We are a bit confused re the role of the WAAS Mobile Manager Server.
Is this similar to the role of Central Manager on normal WAAS, i.e configuration/management etc, or does it have any function in the selection of the server a client will connect to.
Regarding HA & Load balancing of the connections between the Data Centres, this is how we think we should deploy it!
Deploy a Server Farm at each DC & use the Latency based method of farm selection. This way the client should connect to the local server farm, based on which DC the VPN connects to?
Is this correct, has anyone deployed WAAS mobile in this way or have any advice?
    Thanks
    Colin

Fabricpath is L2; not related to the L3 technology you want to use; if VRF are in use you can just use VLANs which is described in your first scenario : "use 2 routers with VRF lite configuration in each DC, then dot1q on the trunk through the Fabric Path"

  • Waas mobile + waas appliance

    Topology
waas mobile client ---------waas appliance---------wan---------waas appliance---------waas mobile server---------------applications/servers
What will happen in this topology?  Who is going to perform the acceleration function?
Can waas mobile client/server talk to waas appliance?
    Thanks
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
Waas Mobile and WAAS are going to be both optimizing traffic in this case.
While  WAAS mobile will tunneled all the traffic so Optimized data is  transmitted over UDP port 1182 and session initiation and control uses  TCP port 1182.
WAAS appliance will perform same transparent method,  by applying option 33 (0x21) and changing the tcp sequence so both WAE's  (dc and remote site) can see each other and apply optimization to the  tcp flow.
Since WAAS mobile will have already compressed data  initially, when the tcp flow hist WAAS appliance devices I expect that  the optimization there will be minimum.
You might  consider to have WAAS Mobile next to your VPN hubs, so remote  desktop/laptops are able to get optimization when ingress in your  network and  won't waste WAAS appliances resources  which will perform  double optimization, first in waas mobile then in waas itself.
    Hope the information helps.
    Thank you
    Rubens

  • WAAS Mobile 3.4 - Cannot Uninstall

One user has a windows 7 laptop and the uninstall process errors out.  Have tried uninstalling from both the programs and from the icon for program uninstall.
    Any suggestions?
We upgraded to 3.5 too - and the auto upgrade won't work either - a message came up that we have to manually uninstall the client first.

1 - How is this performed?
A driver on the WAAS Mobile Server initiates TCP connections to the application and content server using the user’s source IP.
2 - Does the waas mobile needs to be inline?
We do not recommend deploying WAAS Mobile inline. When the source IP transparency option is selected, the WAAS Mobile server should be deployed in conjunction with a Layer 4 switch such as a Cisco ACE with mac-sticky capability that redirects traffic back to the WAAS Mobile server.  The Layer 4 switch could be inline.
3 - Does it send the packets with the source ip on the header or use another option on the header?
Yes, the user’s source IP is in the header.
4 - How is the mobile server located on the topology? See response above.
5 - How can we add redundancy if the waas mobile is inline? Multiple WAAS Mobile servers may be deployed using ACE server load balancing to provide redundancy.
6 - Can the waas mobile server use the fail-to-wire feature?  WAAS Mobile servers are not recommended to be deployed inline.

  • Could any expert in WAAS Mobile see this question?

    Hi everybody!
I succesfully installed WAAS Mobile in a customer. Everything worked fine with WAAS, except for a particular application. WAAS Mobile is not working with a particular client/server Application. When WAAS Client is running, the Application Client is not able to connect to the Application Server.
Analyzing the packets capture with Wireshark, I observed that the first 3 packets are not being redirected to the WAAS Mobile Server. It is going straight to the Application Server.
At first I thought that I needed to add another process to the Proxied Process list in WAAS. But using the TCPView software I can see that the process that is sending the first packets is the one that I already added to the Proxied Process list.
The question is: Is it normal for these first packets not passing through WAAS Mobile Server? Or all the packets of the process should be redirected to the WAAS Mobile Server? Could this problem be a bug? What is the best way to troubleshoot this?
    Thanks!
    Marcio

First of all, individual packets are not passed thru to the WAAS Mobile Server. All TCP connections for accelerated applications are terminated on the client. The packet content is encapsulated and passed to the WAAS Mobile Server using a UDP connection on port 1182. The fact that you saw packets going to the application server means that the applicaiton in question is not being optimized for whatever reason. To determine the reason, please generate a client and server System Report directly after exercising the problem application with WAAS Mobile. Either open a TAC case for the issue or send the system reports to the Cisco SE assigned to your account. The system reports can then be analyzed to determine why the application is being bypassed.

  • Best placement of WAAS mobile

    Hi,
What is the best practice?  Should WAAS mobile server be installed as close to Internet router as possible? or should WAAS mobile server be installed as close to server farms where the applications are?
Let's say the internet router and server farms are NOT co-located at the same building.
    Thanks!
    Joe

The WAAS client will intercept all traffic to the networks you specify. See:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas_mobile/v3.5/configuration/administration/guide/CiscoWAASMobileAdminGuide_3_5.pdf
    page 41, "Configuring Client Networking".
You could add only the ftp servers in Bldg2 in your example. If you had another farm in Bldg1 your could direct traffic towards those servers to another WAAS-Mobile serverfarm.
All traffic send via the WAAS-Mobile server will exit the server (in the default setting) with the IP of the server and using the routing table of the server, so yes you would have to arrange for traffic between the server and the internet.
Alternatively you can define an ip range (as big as the ip range of the clients) to use for outgoing traffic or you can use the original IP of the client (this requires some magic in your network). See page 27.
    Best regards, Peter

  • A problem with WAAS mobile client

The customer has a problem with WAAS mobile client. When he disabled WAAS mobile client - all is working, but http is not working.:-( On the server the accelerated networks are configured. The browser send the http request, but the response is not received:-( For other clients it is working. Thank you for help.

I have WAAS mobile server version 3.4.0.1460 on the Windows2003 server with SP1. Client OS is Windows XP. All clients who use WAAS mobile client have WinXP on their notebooks. All clients are on the same network. This client sees this problem when the waas client is active, disabled, and for now when the waas mobile client is uninstalled - it seems like waas mobile client changed registers for IE or FireFox - so all http answers are redirected to nonexisting waas mobile client:-(
    Thank you

  • "Latest Backup" time/date is incorrect for OS X Server Time Machine backups

I administer a OS X Server that provides Time Machine backups for clients across our small business network. I'm running Server on a Mac Mini (2.3 GHz i7 with 8GB RAM), and after going from Mavericks to Yosemite (and from Server 3 to Server 4) the other day, the TM backups are still running hourly, but the "Latest Backup" times are incorrect.  Has anyone noticed this behavior?  In case it matters, none of the clients currently being backed up are Yosemite clients.  I mentioned this because for our older clients (10.6), the "Latest Backup" times/dates were always listed as "Unknown" in Server 3, and continue to be in Server 4.  Thanks!

I also had to restart the server and client after applying the "fix" I described above. Basically, no user should have multiple, simultaneous file sharing sessions on the server. But even clearing the user sessions does not resolve the problem beyond the next Time Machine backup, so I also tried disabling and enabling file sharing, but the problem also returns after doing this. Only restarting both the client and server after clearing the sessions has worked for me when I have this problem. The problem may return much later, but this work aroudn definitely works as a temporary solution.
Next time I encounter this problem I will try restarting just the server or just the client, because it is unlikely that the problem exists due to something on both systems. Server 3.x is definitely not as stable as it should be, but for my use, it is getting the job done.

  • Windows server 2008 R2 Standard edition time server problem: The computer did not resync because no time data was available.

    Hello,
I'm trying to get my 2008 R2 server (physical server) to synch with an external time server. I've read other threads on the topic but have not found a solution. I'm sure i'm missing something.
First the step leading to the error:
    w32tm /resync /rediscover

    PDC                         DC-01.coastal.local
    RID pool manager            DC-01.coastal.local
    Infrastructure master       DC-01.coastal.local
    The command completed successfully.

    Hi,
You may need to update command w32tm /config /syncfromflags:domhier /update, to change the IntranetServer w32time type to nt5ds (this sets the service to pull from the AD).
For more detailed information, please refer to the thread below:

  • Time and/or Date incorrect after moving/copying/importing

This has been going on for years and has messed up hundreds, maybe more, of the time/date on my photos in Aperture.
If I select my entire photo library (typically preset to 'Date - Ascending') in Aperture, I can find hundreds of photos out of order. When I look at them in 'Info', the time and sometimes date has changed by several hours. I'm not sure if this is an Aperture thing or Mac thing? Over the years I have moved and/or copied photos from smaller HDDs to larger HDDs to eventually a NAS unit and/or from iPhoto to Aperture.
I have made calls to Tech Support, but they have always made me feel as if I made some mistake on my end or I didn't set the time correctly to begin with (now this could be correct with the P&S I share with my girlfriend, but very rarely with my DSLR). But I also explained that it was random (3 to 5 photos in a set).
So today as I was trying to update some of my photos, I came across some photos (and videos) I took last year with my iPhone (my iPhone always has the correct time and date or 99.9%). I originally uploaded these to an old iPhoto library I still have (all the dates and times are correct). These same photos and videos (55 over a 3 day period) were moved to my Aperture library some time ago and 3 of the 55 have the incorrect time by -7 hours (ie. 3:30 pm is now 8:30 am).
Why does this happen?? I have not set any time changes to these photos. If I did, they would all have the wrong time and not just 3 of them would be off.
Is anyone having this issue and if so, was there a way to get the corrcet time/date from the photo hidden deep down in the EXIF? This is driving me crazy.
Here are some screen shots of the same photo in iPhoto and Aperture.
    iPhoto 5:28:09 PM - Correct
    Aperture 10:28:09 AM - Incorrect -7 hrs
TIA if anyone can help. I just don't have the time to go back and try and change all these photos.
    Narvon

    DF
Thanks for the reply, I will try to post the screenshots again (they still show for me, odd?).
Anyway, this is not a zoning problem. This is a moving or copying problem.
The photos I tried to show from the screen shot I took last year at a concert in Coachella (same time zone as my residence in Redondo Beach). The shots were taken using my iPhone which has GPS and constant updating of Time. All the photos and videos show up correctly in Places (GPS) and all the correct times show in iPhoto.
The issue occurs when the photos are moved to Aperture. Randomly the time has changed to -7 hours on a few photos. This same randomness has occured to hundreds of my photos that I have imported into Aperture over the years. As I said before, Tech Support and everyone else has placed the blame on me within my camera settings or improper importing.
Now that I use my iPhone more often, I have proof that the settings are correct and that Aperture or Finder or ?? within Apple has changed the Time randomly. Also, if I had 'Accidently' opened the 'Time Zone' brick when importing (as suggested by Tech Support), all the photos would have the incorrect time and not just a few random ones.
iPhoto original from iPhone - Time 5:28:09 correct
Aperture photo from iPhoto - Time 10:28:09 incorrect -7 Hrs
    Thanks again,
    Narvon

    Hello.
How can I set data subsetting parameters in Mobile Server with patch 5.0.2.10.0 NLS.
From Mobile Server "Control Center" -> "Applications" it's not appears at left screen the following field:
    * Data Subsetting

Have you any idea for this problem?
    Thanks All.

    Thanks Oliver,
I have to go in control center in "applications tab" then i have the list of application and i edit one of them, on the left clic Data Subsetting it's not appears.
    The following it not appears:
