We have a router 3845 with a WAE-522-K9. Eventually we have received notifications about "session limit" and we got this:

What version of WAAS OS are you on and how long has it been since you reset your Policy Rules to the default? Also, from enable, do a "clear connection" to purge all those out of there and get things accelerating again. The WAAS policy rules stay the same through each upgrade, so if your original policy rules date back to version 4.1.1, there have been a lot of enhancements since then.
I had a similar problem with Sophos corporate virus protection. Each of my clients would open 20+ sessions to the Sophos update server and max out my connections.
I was on WAAS OS Version 4.4.3c when it was happening. My first solution, was to create a Policy for Pass through only on the Sophos TCP port destination. I kept this policy in place until I upgraded to WAAS OS verion 5.0.1 about a month ago. After the update, I removed the rule and reset all rules to the default, which the default rule set from 5.0 is different than the default ruleset on 4.3.x which I had kept through every upgrade. I reset the ruleset for a different issue, but after I did the reset, the Sophos Clients only took 2 TCP sessions each. One from Client to Server, one from Server to Client.

You usually have to use the program's uninstaller utility for such things as Symantec. Read this:

You may need to install it all over again, just to use its uninstaller.

Upgrade 9.3 to 11.1.2.1 "your session has ended or timed out" on EXPORT

Have two different issues going on.
The first is a user loads succesfully then go to change their location. Once they select the newe location and it goes to open they receive this error "your session has ended or timed out"
The second is similar in when a user clicks the export buttopn they get this message "your session has ended or timed out"
Anyone with Admin access does not get any errors
We thought it could be provisioning as we setup two groups and put users in those groups for provisioning but the people getting the second error are in the same group as people who pass Export.
We got the second fixed by provisioning the group to be able to "Run Integration" but that scares me.
Any ideas?

We had thought the same thing at first. We use Intermediate 5 for people who can make mapping changes and intermediate 7 for users who can load but not modify maps. Anything the can both do is set to AllIntermediate.
We tried makig that just Int7 or Int5 and it still bombed.
Also if they do not have access to a location it does not show up in the dialog box to be selected. If they do not export they can bounce from one location to another without issue.
We feel it has to be a setting somewhere because our admins do not experience the same issues at all.
Do you have 11.1.2.1 installed and workig fine?

Error: Your session has ended or timed out. Please login again. FDM error on "Export"

On logging into FDM URL, with a specific user on clicking "Export Fish" FDM Processes gives the options for load but on the other hand when we click on "Export" from the left panel(navigation). "It throws Your session has ended or timed out. Please login again." Quite anomalous behaviour ,when I try with admin this issue does not exist. In shared service this user has the access for that group with WRITE permissions.

Target: HFM
Tried creating a new native user with all admin priv on the FDMApp,HFM app but the issue did not get resolved.
It is peculiar and unable to gain any pointers.

Can you check the Object Security for the Analysis Menu and Export button and see if it is restricted?
Also, is this a Oracle DB? IF so, has the following 32 bit Oracle Client components been isntalled:
Oracle Objects for OLE
Oracle Data Provider for .NET
Oracle Providers for ASP.NET

Symantec's End Point Protection

I just bought a new IMAC and wanted to install anti-virus software. On my old IMAC, I had downloaded from my company's website, Norton Anti-virus for MAC.
They no longer offer that software but instead offer End Point. I downloaded and installed it. Should that be adequate anti-virus and firewall protection for my computer?

The very best protection for your computer is keeping it up-to-date and allowing it to run it's built in daily maintenance. Antivirus software on Macs tend to create more problems than they solve. While you did have a problem it was because either you or another user on your computer were downloading from unfamiliar sites. Please read Viruses, Trojans, Malware - and other aspects of Internet Security to get more informative information.
At all cost I would recommend avoiding Symantec products on your Mac unless of course you simply want problems.

Hi,
I gave a user access as Basic Reviewer and Submitter in shared services and also in FDM for all the locations.
When I am trying to login to FDM using that user ID I am getting error Error: Your session has ended or timed out. Please logon again
Can anyone pls let me know how to resolve the issue.

To resolve this issue you need to install the latest patch set update for 11.1.2.1.0, (11.1.2.1.502)
You will also need to modify object maintenance for Journals and Multiload to make sure that Intermeidate Users have access to these objects.

Issue with variable while in a PSSession connected to an end point

Ok so Ive put together a simple script that will allow our helpdesk to look at permissions on a specified folder or share adn display in a nice html page. I need it to run under different credentials so I set up an endpoint which I can connect to remotely
and run the script. The issue is in the variable that needs to get set. It prompts for the folder location and once you put it in, it just freezes up. If I run the script locally its fine and works perfectly. but running it in the remote
session connected to an end point, it just doesnt do anything once you put in the information after it prompts you. For testing also I set the $folderpath to a specific path and it does run fine through a remote session so its just an issue passing
that input back to the variable while in the remote session. Any idea?

Change of Video Frame One Sample Out of Sync with Correct Point on Timeline.
It has been found on the author's PC that, in Audition 3 in Multitrack View, a video file displayed in the video window will change its frame one sample later than it should do with respect to the correct point on the timeline. This has led to extra work having to be done by the author, as detailed later.
To demonstrate this issue:
Create a new multitrack session. Enable the Time and Video windows. Enable only 'Snap to Frames'.
Using an external program, render a two-frame video clip at 25fps. Let the first frame contain the letter 'A', and the second frame contain the letter 'B'. Making sure that the Display Time Format is set appropriately, in this case at 'SMPTE 25 fps (EBU)', lock this clip on the multitrack timeline, ensuring that the clip starts at time 00:00:00:00.
Create a mono audio clip of silence at 48kHz 32-bit that is two frames long. Lock it on an audio track, ensuring that the clip starts at time 00:00:00:00.
Place the cursor at time 00:00:00:01 and create a cue marker at this point by pressing F8.
Zoom into the timeline so that approximately twenty samples are visible, with the cursor lying on the cue marker in the middle of the screen. The Time window should display 00:00:00:01. The Video window should display the letter 'A'.
Move the cursor back in time (leftwards) by one sample. The Time window should change its display to 00:00:00:00, whilst the Video window should still show the letter 'A'.
Move the cursor forwards in time (rightwards) by one sample, so that it overlays the cue marker again. The Time window should change its display back to 00:00:00:01, whilst the Video window remains showing the letter 'A'.
Move the cursor forwards in time (rightwards) by one more sample. The Time window's display should remain at 00:00:00:01, but the Video window should now display the letter 'B'.
As can be seen from the above steps, the video's change of frame content occurs incorrectly one sample later than it should; the change of video frame content should occur simultaneously with the change of the frame number displayed in the Time window, which is at the point that the cue marker has been placed.
The practical effect of this issue is that it has caused the author a huge amount of extra work on an 89-minute long soundtrack-for-video timeline. There were over 1100 changes of shot which the author wished to mark by placing cue markers at the beginning of every shot. This should have been a quite simple process of enabling 'Snap to Frames', stepping through the video, and laying cue markers down by pressing F8 when the shot was seen to change.
Because currently the Video window (referencing the cursor laying over a cue marker
i that has been placed on the timeline using the 'Snap to Frames' option
) will actually display the end moments of the previous frame rather than the beginning moments of the current frame, laying down a cue marker when the shot is seen to change will actually place that marker at the beginning moments of the second frame of the new shot, not at the beginning moments of the first frame of the new shot, i.e. the cue marker placed will be one frame later in time than it should be. If it is wished for the cue marker to, as best it can, represent the beginning moments of the first frame of the new shot, it has to be manually repositioned so that it is at least a sample later in time than the time at which the shot has actually changed, in order for the Video window to correctly display the content.
The author had to manually reposition all 1100+ cue markers.
Ideally, the Video window should display a change of video frame in synchronization with the change of the frame display in the Time window, which occurs at the position of the 'Snap to Frames' point.

Watch Folder End Point Problem

I'm currently evaluating LiveCycle ES and having problems with watched folder end point.
I use the Sample - Barcoded Forms: RouteOnDataEntry process and have added and configured the watched folder end point for the process.
When I copy the RouteOnDataEntry PDF form to input folder, it manage to pick up the file, but the PDF is moved to failure folder. Here is the information I get from the failure.log:

Problem getting parameter values at the service end point

I am having problem getting parameter values at the service end point. I created service end point and this method is having 35 parameters and then i created test client file using Sun One Studio 5. but when i run this test client and make a call to service it sends wrong value to first three parameters to the service end point. I tried all the way round but it gave me same sort of problem. I change the order of parameters change the names of parameters but it didn�t work. And then i started chopping of parameter from the left side. And my problem is solved when my parameter list reached to 12 from 35. So is it a bug or some problem with my configuration or some thing else.
I am using sun one studio 5 with sun one app 7. My service end point does very simple thing. It only takes out put of the parameter to the server log file. And my wsdl file seems all right. There is no conflict with the count and data type of the parameter information it contains.

I just found that there is a bug with Sun One Studio 5. It creates faulty JSP file to test the client for the web services. With above problem I tested my web services using different developing environment such as Jdeveloper 10g. I created client stub using wsdl file generated by sun one studio. And made call to my web service and all the parameter reached perfectly at service end point. And then I used stub class created by sun one studio for the client and made the same call. And it also went well. So the problem is with the test application (JSP File) sun one creates for my web service.
This is the majore problem i faced during the development. But still there is many problem along with this which is not seriouse enough but requires attension. I would like sun developers to make sun one studio IDE simpler and handy .

When using option right/left arrow in clip trimmer end point handle won't stick

From the help menu:
In the Clip Trimmer, do either of the following:
Drag the handles at either end of the yellow clip selection to set a new startpoint and endpoint.
Move the handles one frame at a time by placing the pointer near the handle that you want to adjust, and then holding down the Option key as you press the Left Arrow or Right Arrow key.
Move the entire yellow selection box to the left or right by pressing the Left Arrow or Right Arrow key, or by clicking within the box and dragging. Using this technique, you can change which video frames are selected without changing the duration of the selection

The bug I've found is that when I place the pointer near the end handle I can hit option arrow and trim the end one frame forward or backwards but when I then hit option arrow a second time the start handle is trimmed. Thus it is hard to quickly option arrow the end handle trim multiple frames without having to move the pointer each time before hitting option arrow. Trimming the start point handle works like I would like as I can just keep hitting option arrow and the start point handle will trim a frame each time. The end point handle should work the same way but it doesn't. I'm on the latest ver 9.02

One thing you can do to help yourself out is to create bookmarks to give you a visual reference for the beats in the music.
You create a bookmark by choosing Bookmarks>Add Bookmarks or by typing command-b.
So you can place your song in the timeline and then play it while tapping out command-b's to the beat of the music. You'll then have little green diamonds in the timeline to use as reference points.
Similarly, you can choose View>Show Audio Waveforms to identify the beats in the music by seeing the peaks in the waveforms.
These techniques should make it a bit easier to make your edits in time with your music.
Keep in mind though, that your movie is built from left to right in the time line. When you edit a clip your clips will always slide in to take up any space to the left of the clip.
When they do that, you can slide them apart again. Doing so will create a clip of black between them that can later be replaced.
One last thing to mention. If you select your music track and then choose Advanced>Lock Audio Clip at Playhead you can then slide a clip around and the locked audio will move with it.
It's a bit quirky I've found, but may also be useful.

BPEL End Point URL using External Load Balancer URL

Hi All,
We have Oracle SOA Suite installed in a clustered environment as per the Enterprise Deployment Guide 10g Release 310.1.3.3.0 E10294-02.
I have deployed a BPEL process to the clustered environment and the end point refers to the internal url of the load balancer e.g. http://internallink:8001/orabpel/default/testService/1.0
When we just paste this end point in a browser, enter the parameters and click on invoke, the BPEL Process gets invoked.
However, if we try to use the external url(which is on https) of the load balancer as the enpoint url eg https://externallink/orabpel/default/testService/1.0 to invoke the same BPEL process, the page which is used to accept the parameters and the used to invoke the BPEL process is successfully displayed. However, when we try to invoke the service, the connection times out.
Please note that internallink and externallink are the internal and external VIPs, respectively.
Does someone have an idea of what may be wrong or what needs to be corrected to be able to invoke the BPEL process using the external VIP, please?

Exporting line end point coordinates?

Hi,
I'm in desperate need of a script to export the coordinates of lines, or paths, it doesn't really matter, into a text document.
I've set my ruler up so the 0,0 is in the center of the image, because I need both 0,0 and -0,-0 to work for what I have in mind, basically using a document as a large Cartesian grid, which you can then extract coordinates of 'edges' or end points of lines from.
A little background on why I need it, for anyone curious. I figured out a way to build new worlds/maps for a game that generates terrain based on 'boundaries', which are drawn on, in a 2d plane, but I need coordinates to map these boundaries correctly. I could do it manually, where I'd hover my mouse over every edge or end of the line point, but this would save a LOT of time.
I'd be insanely grateful if anyone can help me out. I've tried looking for scripts or other software, but haven't been successful at all for what I really need.
The way I have my document setup is, 1 pixel per cm, 16384x16384cm. It's quite large, so most 'graph' software won't work for it. The grid itself works fairly well, I just need a decent way to export the coordinates from it.

Which made me realize, that the paths aren't bound to a layer (It's been a while since I've used paths), so it'll just use the Background layer. There is no way around that, right? Since this script only targets layers, it'll ignore path names, which brings me to another question, is it possible to use the same thing, only for saved paths? So if you had 2 paths, one named P1 and the other P2, that it would display it like:

Basically like the post previous to this, except with paths, instead of layers.

Playing Quicktime with Multiple Start End Points

in the movie. Now I have a new problem which I cannot fix at all..
Here is the problem:

contain a generic script which allows input of start and end points
for each button to trigger the movie. Initially just doing this
with one button is successful.
However, multiple buttons all with the same generic code make
the movie freeze up completely. My guess is that they are all
fighting each other for control. Maybe I need something in the code
which allows the button that is being used to play the movie to
keep control.

ever so slightly from Mike's orginal for anybody wanting a nice
little behaviour for controlling a Quicktime movie.
