                   After deregistering a WAAS from CM I tried to register it back into CM and this is what  I get .............

Hi,
Did you try doing "cms deregister force"? In case you see the device listed under CM, try to delete it after you do dregistration force and re-register to see if that resolves the issue. Also, ensure that there is no FW which is blocking any communication between WAE and CM. If the reachability is fine, it should work fine.

    after a long time i have a new issue in our WAAS environment.
    We're running several WAAS Express devices.
    And a few weeks ago i integrated them into our WAAS Central Manager.
    The registration of WAAS Express device was done on basis of "waasx_deployment_guide_120910.pdf"
    Now when i came back from christmas holiday i detected that all of them became offline again in CM.
    Activating as well as replacing did not work, cause the router detected that the device is still registered.
    i got the following output after this:

    Hi Dieter,
    i am just curious to know what made the WAAS express go offline. Even if you open a TAC case, TAC is going to ask this question.
    1. Was there any IOS upgrade performed on routers?
    2. Was the routers reloaded for any reason?
    3. If you are using AAA / TACACS, any changes like upgrade / renewal of certificates on them?
    This information will help you narrow down the problem quickly. If you can share above information, we might be able to move something for you.

    Hi Saransurendran,
    A common cause of the issue you describe is that not all files from the WAAS SRE ZIP archive are available in the same folder on your FTP server, or permissions are not good for all files.
    There should be 6 files on your FTP server in total, all in the same folder:
    •waas-accelerator-4.4.3c.9-k9.bin
    •waas-accelerator-4.4.3c.9-k9.bin.install.sre
    •waas-accelerator-4.4.3c.9-k9.bin.install.sre.header
    •waas-accelerator-4.4.3c.9-k9.bin.installer
    •waas-accelerator-4.4.3c.9-k9.bin.key
    •waas-accelerator-4.4.3c.9-k9.bin.srebootloader
    If any of these files should be missing or not accessible on the FTP server, installation will fail.
    Please ensure you have all these files available and accessible on your FTP server and retry.

  • Branch WAAS(547) missing from CM...can't add back

    Hi,
    One of our branch WAAS devices had the wrong hostname and I edited our DNS/TACACS and updated the hostname in the WAAS itself.
    I went to the Central Manager and deleted the old entry and went to the branch WAAS, enabled cms, disabled/enable the tcp promiscuous 61/62, and WCCP is up. I can see redirection happening on the WAAS and the router but the Central Manager does not have an entry for the WAAS device. I can also ping the central manager from the branch WAAS and visa versa. Everything seems to be working optimization wise but I can't figure out why I can't see the hostname of the box in the CM gui. It's been two days and it's not showing up.
    Here is the cms info on the branch WAAS (IP's omitted).

    I have a central manager address configured on the branch WAAS but when I try to deregister it, I get this output that it failed.
    I can't follow the document because you need to select the device in the central manager to mark it replacable. The device doesn't exist in the central manager so I can't follow that document.

  • WAAS - Multicast Deployment

    Has anyone deployed WAAS using multicast for the WCCP registration? We're using the multicast address of 239.0.0.1 ip pim dense-mode and multicast routing being enabled. Does anyone know if you can use  ip pim sparse-dense-mode instead of ip pim dense-mode? The documentation shows only an example for ip pim dense-mode. I've gotten it working in the LAB, I was just wondering what the recomendation is and if it's alight to use 239.0.0.1 instead of the 224.10.10.1 multicast address shown in the documentation.Is the 224.10.10.1 reserved for WAAS? If so then I would want to use that instead of 239.0.0.1.

    Either multicast mode will work.  In addition, WAAS/WCCP don't care which multicast group is used (they'll use what is configured).

  • WAAS: Using 4port HWIC module on a router

    Hello -
    I was wondering if there are any performance issues with using a 4-port HCWIC ethernet module on a WAN router for connecting the WAAS device rather than trunking down to your switch? We have this deployed today in all of our remote sites using 2 WAN routers for redundancy along with multicast for the WCCP registrations. We do sometimes get dropped packets when you do a show int sum on the WAAS connected interfaces, but it's not incrementing rapidly.

    Of course I'm doing optimization on the WAAS that's all the whole point of having WAAS. I don't think you understand my question; you only posted marketing information which I do not need. My question was, are there any performance issue with using the 4-port hwic module on an ISR router?

  • WAAS installed without Central Manager. not compressing traffic

    Hi,
    I installed 2 SRE modules in 2 ISR G2 router and configure them without Central Manager, but they are not doing compression, Traffic is going to Branch to Head Office but without compression.

    Hi Arslan
    WAAS requires a Central Manager however once they are setup it doesn;t technically require one in order to continue to to optimise traffic. If your WAAS environment is setup correctly and is intercepting the traffic http and CIFS should automatically been compressed with LZ compression. WAAS can accelerate Exchange however it depends on how your Exchange environment is setup and whether it is encrypted? If its encrypted via SSL you will need a WAAS Central manager to accelerate it.
    To check if you WAE's are running correctly type in "show cms info" on the WAAS and you will probably see your WAE is status is not online:

  • Cisco WAE registration problem

    I have a data centre WAE-574 using WCCP redirect. Behind a firewall I have the CM. In a remote location, +/- 600ms RTT, I have another WAE-574 in line mode. This was working perfectly until it was powered off. It lost all its config on recovery. I reloaded the config but cannot get it to register. The central-manager address is correct but when I enter 'cms enable' on the remote WAE it times out after several minutes. I have deleted the device from the CM.
    If I check the data centre WAE with the "show stat conn" I can see sessions between the CM and remote WAE on port 443.

    The problem was WCCP. This was removed and the device registered and came online. However, When WCCP was re-enabled I now get the device going offline again. Is this an SSL issue between the 2 WAEs ?

    When using the Administer Partner Applications page, it appears the application is not being registered completely. The information does not appear in the WWSEC_ENABLER_CONFIG_INFO$ table, as has been suggested in prior posts (everything is fine in WWSSO_PAPP_CONFIGURATION_INFO$).
    I am attempting to deploy the SSO SDK demo PL/SQL application, which works fine when logged into Portal. However, when not logged into Portal, I receive the following errors:
    "Error in application: missing application registration information
    Please register this application as described in installation guide"
    This error is driven by the PL/SQL exception:
    "wwsec_sso_enabler_private.enabler_config_not_found"
    What am I missing? I have created several Partner applications, and none of them appear in the WWSEC_ENABLER_CONFIG_INFO$ table. I have sucessfully loaded the SSOHash into my partner schemas.

    Thanks for the info; however, I'm still unable to get the SSO SDK sample, or any partner app, to work.
    I have read the docs, what little there is, and followed the steps closely. Everything executes ok.
    I have several questions:
    1. When executing the REGAPP.SQL script that comes with the SDK, it indicates to login as the partner schema. I have noticed when running this script, the entry is stored in the partner schema table WWSEC_ENABLER_CONFIG_INFO$, not the one owned by Portal. Is this correct?
    2. My partner app is really a PL/SQL Server Page (PSP) application which uses the same server as Portal. When entering the Listener Token name, I have been using the same server name as Portal. Is this a problem? What is this token used for? Must it be unique for each partner application?
    3. In your response you mentioned changes to the REGAPP script. I found no mention of any changes in the docs with SSO SDK. Am I missing something?
    Finally, is there any better documentation for the SDK and/or partner application configuration. The readme and install files do not, in my opinion, pass as documentation.

  • Jabber 9.1 Registration To CUCM 8.6.2

    Good evening,
    I have a problem I am hoping someone can answer for me. I have a CUCM/ Unity Connection/ CUP platform which are all 8.6x
    I have configured all the components and I am currently trying to get Jabber to work, I have 1 user who has 2 clients he wants to use. One client is is home Mac and the other his work Windows based laptop.
    Jabber 8.6.4 on the Mac works 100% the client can call, access voicemail and use IM with no issues. The same user when he tries to login with his Windows based client gets IM and authenticates to Unity Connection OK but the client does not register with CUCM and therefore he cannot dial out and so all telephony functionality is unavailable. The options in the windows client only show Phone accounts for the voicemail server which all look OK.
    It looks to me that the windows client is not getting the correct paramters from the jabber-xml file (infact I cant find one in the tftp server which is CUCM) or maybe I need to have 2 softphones detailed in CUCM, i.e one for each client (MAC & PC). I have all the CCMCIP and trunking etc working fine, along with the relevant AXL, LDAP and CTI users set up ok.
    Anyone have an idea of where I may be going wrong ?

    I have tried your suggestion but while the symptoms are slightly different I am still not able to get the Windows client to register with CUCM.
    If I disable the softphone on the mac client then exit Jabber on the mac, then I open the Windows client initially the results are exactly the same. However if I then sign out of the windows client and back in I get the option on the bottom right of the client to choose the softphone source (i.e computer or deskphone) but then no matter which one I choose the client sits at the setting phone prompt and still does not register.
    I guess one option for me may be to run a WIndows client on the home Mac using VMware fusion and use the same client, hopefully then the graceful softphone registration may work between devices running the same client?

  • ISE 1.2 - Self-Provisioned devices still in pending registration status

    Hi everybody,
    I'm on ISE 1.2 patch 2, setting up single-SSID self-provisioning BYOD flow which works as expected except for a couple of issues:
    first PEAP authorization always fails (no server certificate confirmation appears on device and no Endpoint Profile is assigned), second on goes through as expected and self-registration flow is started;
    at the end of the flow, TLS certs are installed, device appears in endpoint database under user's account but "Device Registration Status" stays "pending" and this makes it impossibile to further authorized RegisteredDevices identity group;
    single mobile devices gets different "Endpoint Profile" result at each subsquent access. For example: Android smartphones are profiled as Android or HTC device or HP devices or Samsung randomly.
    I've tried to analyze log files but cannot extract a full dump of the profiling process that could help identify why all this happens.

    Hi Kevin,
    I did not find and answer. In subsequent patches the self-registration flow seems to have changed somehow and now I have more device in 'Registered' state, but still most of the time at the end of the process there is no guarantee that the devices will be in this stage. I've moved to more broad policies for authorization (i.e. if you have a valid certificate and login from one of the accepted profiles, we'll let you in).
    Please let me know if you open a TAC case, what is the answer.

    There is no standard API for creating these assessments. So, we are doing manual insert to the
    tables. The vacancy assessment is working after insert form the interface. But
    the registration assessment is not showing up.
    I am inserting records in to the following tables:
    ota_attempts
    ota_utest_questions
    ota_utest_responses
    For the vacancy assessment that I am inserting through interface is showing up fine. Only the registration assessment is not showing up.
    Is there any other data that needs to be inserted or updated for the registration assessment?
