WAC: Bonjour record is displayed in MAC OS 10.9 but not 10.8

Hi everyone,
When my device goes into WAC (Wireless Accessory Config) mode, the Bonjour record is not displayed in MAC OS ver 10.8.
But it is visible on OS 10.9. Similarly, it is not visible in Safari on Windows PC too.
Will this be a problem for AirPlay/MFi certification?
If so, any suggestions to fix this issue?

My Mac Mini will charge - but not sync with - USB-connected devices (ipod, camera, memory card reader). I have tried unplugging the devices, restarting the computer, selectively unplugging and plugging in the devices, closing and opening the relevant applications (iTunes, iPhoto, etc). I have tried using different USB cables.
It's like all of a sudden the synching service stopped functioning or recognizing these devices for some reason. The other ports work just fine (monitor).
The only USB-connected external device that appears to be unaffected is the USB SuperDrive and it works on all the USB ports into which I plug it.
How do I fix this?

Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens or doesn't happen.

Mac mail will receive but not send, happened yesterday!

Hi, my mac will receive email but not send anything. I didn't do anything differently and it was working just fine before. Can someone please help me. I am trying to get work emails out and they won't send. Gmail and exchange won't send, it's not just one email provider. Please advise. I have looked up other forums and I don't think it has anything to do with the settings because it worked before.

HT1386 mac itunes is current but not good enough for mini. how to get min to sync?

The Mac itunes is current but not the same as the mini. Do i have to purchase software in order to add another device the mini onto my growing pile of apple? Will this upgrade effect the other older apple devices running older versions?

This was first reported 10 days ago. Had to be out of the country for a week - without photoshop working-- and now I'm back with the same problem. Can someone please help, or do I dump this and try to get some help just reloading the program?

It had 4 years of photos and videos on it.
To what did your camera record those photos and videos - camera's internal memory, inserted memory card, other?
Any remote chance that the latter may still exist for you to use to download the camera files to your new external hard drive?

V 3.2 v2 now has problems with layouts, displays images fine in IE10, Firefox but not in Chrome...

Images placed in a page are not displaying in the same places in the design view on the rendered Chrome page, they are perfect in IE 10 and Firefox but not chrome / safari (ipad)?
In other words I cant get all the browsers to render the same, in order to get one set to work I have to position images one way and then they dont work in the other browsers? it doesnt make much sense but i cant seem to figure it out and need urgent help!

this has been setup to work with chrome, but in the design view you have to place the images in totally wrong places to get them to show correctly....
if you review in ie/firefox you can see the problem!

Every browser will potentially line break the same text with the same formatting differently due to subtle differences in the text layout engines between browsers, so the inline graphic approach is generally the best approach for achieving completely reliable results.
The reason the difference was so dramatic between IE or Firefox versus Chrome or Safari is that Chrome and Safari are based on Webkit and Webkit rounds percentage leading to a whole pixel value where as IE and Firefox interpret percentage leading as a fractional pixel amount, if necessary. This means line spacing for text with leading that's specified as a percentage will be substantially different between IE/Firefox and Chrome/Safari. You can avoid this by entering a pixel value (i.e. "14 px" for leading in the Control Strip or Text panel in Muse.

What type of authentication is required for this SMTP? When using in Entourage, what are the selections in Advanced sending options, particularly regarding the box beside Use same settings as receiving mail server?

No images or form elements are displaying in Firefox, used to work but not after an update

Virtually no images are displaying in Firefox, mainly background images - but on every website. Also, form elements are often not visible. Didn't happen before; new Vaio laptop running windows 7 - it can't all be bad coding. Yes, load images automatically is checked etc.

We've had a friend develop a website for our Videography company on a PC using the flash program. I can see the website from any PC that I have access to, but when using a Mac, I can't see it. Imac, Macpro laptop, nothing. Is there something that I am not checking? Please help me. I've made changes to the website, the first time I did it it had the same problem but tech support told me to delete the browse history? And after that it worked. But this time that I made changes again, ANY MAC... it will just go blank. It won't show anything.

I hate to say this but more than likely it isn't the mac. It's the browser.
I program for a living, web, windows, mobile, mostly web and knowing what browser you've been using will help.
There are certain bits of info you can pull from a user when they visit a site including operating system. If you've worked on the site, then chances are no one is adding "<if os=OSX then quit>" type of code.
But you never mentioned your browser. If Safari (the defacto when purchasing macs) try downloading FireFox. Could also be missing plugins. You mentioned Flash. Ensure these things are there. Double check and make sure there aren't warnings about missing plug-ins.
If Safari make sure it's updated etc. But not knowing the browser kinda makes it hard to diagnose the issue.
Again, Mac/PC doesn't really matter unless someone has coded the page to do something if a particular end user visits the site. It's the browser that deals with the web pages.

Why would a repeating Calendar event display on both my Macs and my iPhone, but not on my iPad?

Welcome to the Support Communities. The answer is that Adobe's Flash Player is an unsupported product on mobile devices such as iPad. In Adobe's own words:

Subtitles suddenly displaying by default on burned DVD but not in simulator

Hello, subtitles which normally did not display until they were selected 'on' from a menu choice in the DVD are suddenly automatically being displayed by default when played on a stand alone DVD player for a television.
The subtitles however do not show up by default in the DVD Studio Pro simulator nor when I play from a 'build' folder using the Mac DVD player. Also, burned DVD's do not display the subtitles by default on two of my Macintosh systems when played with DVD Player (Macbook Pro and Powerbook G4 both running Leopard) yet the subtitles do display by default on a stand alone DVD player.
I have 'force display' off on the subtitle track (applied to whole subtitle stream).
I created brand new builds and can't figure out why this is suddenly occurring. I opened up very old projects and rebuilt them and they exhibit the same problems.
Anyone with any ideas? I recently upgraded from 10.4.11 to Leopard - is it possible that that would have caused the problem. Thank you.

I have not changed any settings on my set top Panasonic DVD player. The set top box can display subtitles but typically only does so when I choose it from a menu. This just started happening 2 days ago.
The same is occurring on another person's stand alone DVD player so I am fairly certain something is going on with the DVD build. The only major change I did recently was upgrade to Leopard and install the Apple software updates. There doesn't seem to be a preference or setting to display all subtitles in DVD Studio Pro - I am at a loss why this is doing this even with older projects that have worked perfectly and not been modified (just rebuilt and burned).

GarageBand won't record. Built-in microphone used to work, but not anymore-

I have an iBook G4, Mac OS X 10.4.10. My GarageBand is Version 2.0.2
I have built-in microphone that used to work great in GarageBand, but now is showing no input. When I try to record it isn't hearing anything.
Under GarageBand Preferences it says 0 MIDI input(s) detected.
Under System Preferences > Sound > Input "Internal Microphone; Built-In" is selected; but next to "Input Level:" none of the ovals are filled. Hope this makes sense.

Interesting, this could be an issue with the firewall on the router blocking the scanning ports from being accessed. I do wan to start by performing a complete uninstallation and reinstallation though my method, so we can establish a clear baseline on troubleshooting.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it. Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu and click Run type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.
Then follow this link to download the full feature software and drivers for the printer:

Install that and let me know the result!
Additionally, if you can connect the printer directly though the router with an Ethernet cord and install the printer through that method, I might be easily able to determine if there is or isn't a firewall on the router.
