Wacom Bamboo & inkwell

Have posed this question to Wacom, but have not had definitive answer. They say ask Apple. So, will the Wacom Bamboo allow me to install and utilize inkwell? I note earlier positive responses concerning older Wacom tablets, but seek reassurance that the Bamboo is inkwell friendly. (Wacom advertise that it works with Vista's hanwriting recognition software, but fail to mention OSX). I'm assuming that if it does work with Tiger then it will work with Leopard?
Many thanks.

I have a Bamboo tablet and Ink works just fine for me in Leopard.
*Interesting note*:
The "error message comes up about a missing driver." is not an error message. If you plug in a Wacom tablet, Ink appears in system prefs and you can turn it on and adjust setting. But you need to install the Wacom driver for Ink to actually be able to Ink with your Bamboo. This message is just informing you of that.
*How to prove that it is an Apple issue:*
1) Use "Remove Pen Tablet Software" to uninstall the Wacom driver.
2) Unplug Bamboo tablet
3) Open System preferences
4) The Ink pref pane should not appear! (If it does, then ink is probalby turned on and working)
5) Quit System Preferences
6) Attach Bamboo tablet to Mac
7) Open System Preferences
8) Click on Ink pref pane
9) If you get the warning message, just click OK.
10) Turn "Handwriting recognition" ON
11) Quit System Preferences
12) Open System Preferences & Click on Ink
Is "Handwriting Preferences" ON or OFF?
ON - Ink appears to be working. Install Pen Tablet driver (v5.0.3-3 or later) and enjoy
OFF - Something is horribly wrong with Ink. At this point, you have NO Wacom software installed, so it's not Wacom conflicting. At this stage it's all Apple and you should be able to turn Ink ON and have it stay ON.
Just to be thorough, delete the com.apple.ink.* (1 to 3 files) from you Preferences folder. Reboot.
Try steps 2-12 again.
Still OFF? It's not corrupt Ink preferences. What is wrong? I don't know, but it's not Wacom, or the Tablet.

  • Wacom Bamboo Tablet with Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 install on Newly bought Windows 8.1 laptop

So I bought a Wacom bamboo tablet a while back when I had windows 7, which it came with Adobe Photoshop 8 on a CD with product code. I upgraded and bought a new laptop with windows 8 and no CD drive. While I managed to re download the things needed to make my tablet work from their site, I realized I can't download Adobe elements 8 for my laptop because of two things:
    1) I have no CD drive
    2) Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 seems to only be for windows 7 and under.
My question is Is there any way for me to get this back on my laptop or am I out of luck in that department? I'm not quite sure I can manage the money to purchase the newer Elements for windows 8. Is it hopeless for me to work with this program again?

You can try this version of pse 8 from the adobe site:
    Download Photoshop Elements products | 9, 8, 7
As far i know know, pse 8 should work on windows 8.1

  • I am trying to install the driver for a Wacom Bamboo Pad. The dmg from Wacom downloadsand will opens, but when I try to install it the message "Install Wacom Tablet.pkg" can't be opened because the Identity of the developer cannot be confirmed"

iMac late 2009 3,06GHz Intel Core Duo; 500gb hard drive, 12gb memory. OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion)
'“Install Wacom Tablet.pkg" can't be opened because the Identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.'
I have been trying to install the driver for a Wacom Bamboo Pad. There are several driver packages listed on the website (the device is supplied ready to run with Windows devices) and I have tried tried downloading all the available drivers which apply to my set-up. Some will not open at all and I get a 'Damaged' message on my screen. Of the ones which open, I can download the .dmg and expand it but when clicked it opens as a window with multiple choice of languages and an icon which instructs you to click to open.
If I do this some versions repeat the 'damaged' message but the later ones generate a window saying:-
'“Install Wacom Tablet.pkg" can't be opened because the Identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.' - this is as far as I can get it to go; most frustrating!
I understand that Apple's security updates have recently included an alteration that causes this result, and that there is supposed to be a legal (i.e. Apple sanctioned) workaround to allow files like this to be opened. If this is so, can anyone enlighten me?

    Many Thanks, Kurt.
I knew I'd seen the solution you've provided somewhere - either in MacWorld or MacFormat - but couldn't remember the Gatekeeper bit!
I shall save it somewhere VERY safe now in case this happens again …
You have made an old man very happy and saved me from worrying that senile decay had suddenly set in. (I was 70 last week so you might understand the situation from that.)
    Best wishes

  • Wacom Bamboo Tablets & Elements 9

I just bought the Wacom Bamboo Pen...... but it looks as though I can't use it with my Elements 9....... Is this right or do I need a bigger version of Bamboo?? Just wanted to use it for some of my photography as well as elements of windows 7..........
    Thanks for any help!

Check the tablet control panel/settings to ensure you have Elements set up as a recognized application. It will also show if a driver update is available.
PSE should then show up in the Bamboo dock.

  • Premiere Elements 13, Wacom Bamboo tablet input not working on several screen elements

I installed both Photoshop Elements 13 as well as Premiere Elements 13.
Now I notice that in Photoshop Elements 13 (and ALL other programs on my pc) my tablet/pen input via a Wacom Bamboo tablet works perfect, but not in Premiere Elements 13.
Some screen elements in Premiere E.13 do not allow to be 'clicked' by the pen.
If I hover over it and then 'click' it with the button on my tablet or tapping the surface of my bamboo tablet, then it works fine. But whatever I try, I cannot get the thing working with the Pen-input of the Bamboo.
What does work are the 'normal' items in the top of the screen, like 'file' 'edit' etcetera.
What doesn't work is the second bar, with the buttons to 'add media' or switch from 'simple' to 'professional' screen layout. (or similar wording... I have my version in Dutch)
The interesting thing, in Photoshop Elements, that second bar switching from 'easy' to 'expert' modus is working fine with the pen.
Please do not suggest me to re-install my Wacom/Bamboo drivers, for I can assure you: Nothing wrong with thát :-)
If you have suggestions to get it working in Premiere Elements, then most welcome of course.
Honestly I think it is a little techncal flaw that needs fixing by Adobe in the first update, right?

Thanks for the additional information on your Premiere Elements 13 Mac situation.
I have an older Wacom pen and tablet (named Wacom Graphire 3) which works fine with Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Windows. I do not think that I tried it
with Premiere Elements 13 tryout when I had the tryout. I still do not have the purchased version 13. I did not have any problems
using the pen and tablet in the Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Editor. My hang up with the Wacom was that, although it installed great with the
latest drivers, within 24 hours of installation and successful use of the device, I would start getting reinstall driver messages.
    I gave up on it
    a. I could not make that transfer of use from mouse and pen/tablet...I was so used to using the mouse.
    b. Got annoyed with the frequent reinstall driver messages.
I will keep watch for any further news on the subject Mac or Windows based.

  • Do I have to purchase Adobe Director to get Projector, so I can fix the Wacom Bamboo tutorial?

As I've noticed, there are OTHER people who get the same message as I do: "Projector has stopped working. Windows wants to close." (in the Wacom Bamboo tutorial.  Is this an Adobe OEM error, or is there something going on with the Bamboo software?  Surely this can't be a cruel attempt to get us all to lay out $400 to fix a <$100 piece of hardware. Surely we're not ALL yutzes if it is happenning this often. Or is it that I'm running the 64-bit Windows 7 as my operating system, instead of the 32 bit program?

Adobe Director is an application used to make interactive multimedia presentations. Wacom have used it to create their tutorial... and there is a error in the scripts that the Wacom development team have used. Your best chance of finding a solution will be to contact Wacom, and explain which part of the tutorial causes the error, giving details of the computer that you are running it on.
I imagine that Wacom will be somewhat embarrassed about this error, and will be posting an updated tutorial soon.
I am pretty sure that the error in the tutorial does not indicate an error in the functioning of your tablet.

  • Help! Blur tool issues with Adobe CC/Windows 8/Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet

Hi everyone, would really appreciate your help with something frustrating. I have been using Adobe CC quite happily since it was released, but after upgrading to a faster desktop that runs Windows 8, for some reason the Blur tool is playing up. I've upgraded drivers and cleared caches but it keeps happening sporadically. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it wont. My pc isn't the fastest in the world (ie not video editing speeds) but is perfectly competent to run Photoshop; I've run the program on slower machines and am used to the lag that happens there, so this is something different.
What happens; the blur tool is slow, and inaccurate to the extent of being unusable. When I attempt to blur out a section, for example a section of background, it will instead blur out a totally different section of the photo, for example, the face of the subject.
I use a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet CTE 450; I have upgraded its drivers as well.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated; this is only a small thing but is slowly driving me mad! I don't use the blur tool constantly so it isn't preventing me from doing anything, but it is handy when it works and extremely irritating when it won't!
    Thanks in advance!!

Also adding; the same error happens when I use a mouse, which seems to indicate it isn't the tablet's fault.

  • Possibilities in iWork 08 (Pages) with wacom bamboo design tablet?

    Hi
Since yesterday i have wacom bamboo to draw and navigate by hand.
My Question: The title says everything...
... which functions offers me iWork in connection with a tablet (widhout Ink)?
I like to write on keyboard and after draw Sketches under the text.
    Thanks for answers.

    Just FYI regarding Scribbles:
Scribbles makes it really easy to get a quick sketch or signature into Pages. Just draw something in Scribbles, then hit Command+C, which will copy a bitmap of your drawing to the clipboard (CommandOptionC will copy a higher-resolution bitmap).
Then, just switch to Pages and Command+V (Paste).
You can even use the unregistered version of Scribbles for this, as the unregistered version only puts a watermark at the bottom of the image, and is super easy to crop out in Pages.

  • Wacom Bamboo stopped working after OS 10.9.4 update

    Hello.
I wondered if any one else with a Wacom Bamboo has had this problem?
After i installed the OS X10.9.4 update today on my Imac, the tablet stopped working properly. I updated the tablet drivers, then re-installed it but still it doesn't seem to be working the way it did before.
I guess I need to also contact Wacom and see if there is a solution.
    Very frustrated!
    <Edited By Host>

Leave 10.9.4 alone and work with Wacom to see if there is an update available. I was able to find:
    https://www.wacom.asia/en/macosx-driver-637-3-106x-108x-2
If they do not have anything more current you will need to be patient.

  • Lightroom 4.0 & Wacom Bamboo (Pan/Scroll Function)

    Hi guys,
just updated to LR 4.0. Unfortunately I can't use the pan/scroll function of my Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch anymore. I set my »back button« of the pen to »right click« and my »front button« to »pan/scroll«. So if I press the front button I can scroll and pan through the windows (browser, finder, etc.). In LR 3.6 I could use the pan/scroll in each module - especially in Library - Grid View, Navigation and Menus I always used it to scroll through. Since LR 4.0 I can't - if I click the pan/scroll button LR always zooms in or goes into Loupe View (from Grid View). It's like hitting the space bar or left click. I don't know why. I deinstalled and reinstalled LR already. I checked my Bamboo driver as well. I went through LR's preferences, but like in LR 3 there's no way to change keys (like in PS). It drives me nuts!
I'm using Mac OSX 10.6.8 with LR 4.0 and Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch.
    Thank You!
    //edit
Cool. Solved it! Just reinstalled the driver and LR again. Don't know what happened or what's different now, but it works ...

The same problem here. However, like somebody mentioned scrolling up and down helps. Also, What I did, I set up the scroll speed to the minimum. That gives you much more control in Premiere Pro, but when you go to web to check something, better have mouse near your tablet, cause scrolling web on minimum is freakin' slow. A good solution for that is to have turned on the touch option and scroll with 2 fingers. The pen scroll and the tuch scroll can have separate speeds.
BTW. ADOBE FOR GOD'S SAKE! FIX IT PLEASE. IT DRIVES ME NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!
And now I'm angry again... all because of you Adobe!

  • Mail broken by  wacom bamboo

Hi I've just installed the latest update 10.8.5. I was hoping it would fix this long standing problem with the mail app being broken by having the wacom Bamboo tablet connected.
The symptom is that the mail viewing window greys out and is pretty much unresponsive to mouse or pen. Has anyone else come across this and any fix or work around?
    thanks

    Hi ...
When you update your Mac software, you are presented with links that provide exactly what the update includes.
For v10.8.5 >  About the OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.5 Update
Keep in mind, your Wacom tablet sofware is designed to be used with grahpics software, not the Mac Mail app.

  • Does CS6 support the old model of Wacom Bamboo Fun?

So I have an ancient Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, model CTE-650. I recently received and installed the Adobe CS6 package (the student version... if that makes any difference) to further my graphic design dream. Long story short, I can't seem to make the pressure sensitivity work in Illustrator or Photoshop. In Illustrator, I've fiddled with different Calligraphy, Bristle and 6D brushes with different settings, and still, no luck. I can see the option on the dropdown menu, but for some reason, the CS6 programs aren't sensing the pressure sensitivity capability of my tablet.
I also have Photoshop Elements 8, and the pressure sensitivity works just fine there.
Could the problem be that my new "toys" are so new that they are no longer compatible with my 5+ year old tablet, and if so, is there a fix for it? I hope that isn't the case, because I'm still quite fond of my (first-ever) tablet, which is still going strong even with daily use.

So this is the one you have installed?
