Wacom Intuos 2 lives to see another OSx (10.9.2) upgrade!

Re: installing Wacom Intuos 2 on OSX 10.9.2.
Wacom Intuos 2 lives to see another OS upgrade!
I upgaded to a iMac 27"  Intel Core i7 from a wonderful iMac circa 2005 running OSX 10.6, but woefully underpowered
After unsuccessfully attempting to install Intuos 2 from Wacom Legacy Drivers I started hacking around.
1)  I  deleted / uninstalled all things Wacom, reinstalled Driver 6.3.7-3 from Wacom and restarted:  Reslt:  FAILURE:  Again:  Systems Prefrerences: Tablet not recognized.
2) On my iMac I searched for "Wacom" and deleted  / uninstalled all things that contained the word Wacom EXCEPT "TabletDriver"  - because it came up on the search, did not contain the name Wacom and  I had not noticed it previously. ["Date Created = 10.05 ... i'm speculating that this  is when I upgraded from 9.2]
3)  I 2x clicked on "TabletDriver":  SUCCESS!  My subjjective evaluation is that the Pen is considerably more reponsive.
4)  As I am on deadline, I have chosen for the moment not to investigate why this strategy worked but would be happy to follow-up when things quiet down.

I have the same setup and recently did the same upgrade to the same iMac. Would love to keep my intuos2 going.
I followed your steps, but can not find file "TabletDriver"
(Installed both 6.3.7 -3 on the new computer and legacy drivers on my old 2005 mac)
Any insight on where the file TabletDriver resides?
Failing that, would you be willing to share a copy with me?

  • Wacom Intuos Tablet and Pen not working on new iMac with OSX 10.9.4

Hi there, I've been using an A3 Wacom Intuos tablet and pen for many years now on a 2006 iMac for my illustration work, but I cannot get them to appear or work on my new iMac with OSX 10.9.4.  I think they are the original Wacom Intuos tablet and pen.  Does anyone know if they are just out of date now and aren't supported on the new OSX 10.9.4?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I need to work and it's frustrating!
    Many thanks,
    Steve

    Barbara B.
I have done as you suggested; I uninstalled PSE 11 and set my wife's account up as admin and reinstalled from there. Still have the same problem with my wife's account, but when I went to mine it is working correctly. Any ideas on why that would be? I'm sure it should work on both accounts. I have 2 accounts on my Mac Mini running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and it works on both.
Thanks for your help; at least it's working on my account so that's a great improvement.

  • Mac OSX Yosemite   Wacom Intuos 4 - Painting not possible due to terrible brush lags

I recently updated my iMac (27", end of 2013, 3,5 GHz intel core 7, 16 GB Ram + Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M 4096mb) to OS X Yosemite, and also installed the new driver for my wacom intros 4 tablet (version 6_3.9w5).
But since OS X 10.10, I got nothing but troubles with CS6 (version 13.0.6) - whenever I try to paint with a brush (it doesn't matter which one I choose), the stroke gets applied laggy and delayed. I already installed the white windows plug-in but nothing changed.
When this happens and I try to quit PS, most of the time it says the program stopped working and I need to force quit it.
When I use my mouse in PS, on the other hand, every stroke is fast and smooth as it used to be.

I had the SAME problem. This worked for me:
Before, I was running Yosemite 10.10 on an iMac i7
I had the latest driver from Wacom (I tried a couple of older drivers, to no avail)
I'm running PS CS6, with all update
I'm using a Wacom Intuos 5 medium tablet
I was getting super bad lag while using the brush and other tools. Let's say I'd open an image to edit. After selecting the keyboard shortcut for my brush, I'd make one pass with the brush on the image. The brush stroke would be there, but it wouldn't show up in the history palette. Only after making another brush stroke would the previous action be recorded in the history palette. I was lagging real bad. In between brush strokes I wouldn't be able to change tools or even change the size of my brush. Nothing worked. I'd have to click off the image to regain control, or click the trackpad to regain control. BTW, the trackpad worked perfectly. NO lag for anything in PS. The polygonal lasso tool, one of my favorite selection tools, was basically unusable with the lag. I'd have to click several times before it would catch up and then sometime it would just randomly close the selection. So that was useless.
Ok, so that's what was happening to me. My tablet was basically useless. It took triple the time to work with it.
All I did was update Yosemite to 10.10.1 and the tablet now works PERFECTLY in photoshop cs6 for me. I'm not sure you'll get the same results but it worked for my computer. I really didn't think it would work so I was pleasantly surprised when it did.
I had tried installing older wacom drivers. Didn't work.
I tried reinstalling PS CS6 in a new user profile on my Mac. Didn't work.

  • Is the Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus supported yet?

According to the Wacom website, the Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus IS supported for pressure sensitivity, palm rejection and shortcut functionality.
    http://intuoscreativestylus.wacom.com/en/
    https://store.wacom.com/us/en/product/CS500PK0
However I have been unable to pair the pen with Ideas on my iPad...?
(I had previously paired the pen with another app - I closed the app so think it was unpaired - can it be paired with two apps simultaneously?)

    Hi AdriaDG,
Sorry about your issues with Wacom Intuos Stylus and palm rejection in Adobe Ideas.
    Couple of things to note/try:
    1. We have seen an issue with Wacom where sometimes it does not fully connect and behaves poorly. Try taking the battery out of the Wacom, putting it back in, and seeing if that improves palm rejection behavior.
    2. When you bring down the stylus drop down menu by tapping the pen icon on the right side of the top toolbar in Adobe Ideas with the Wacom connected, does it show a battery level value soon after connecting? If not, this is a sure sign that the connection is probably faulty and you should remove the battery, replace and reconnect.
    3. We are utilizing the palm rejection functionality from the SDK that Wacom provides to developers. When palm rejection is on we ask the Wacom SDK for the stylus touch and, if it is not reporting one, we don't draw a line. I see a similar behavior with my Wacom when I have palm rejection on in Ideas and I start drawing lines without a lot of pressure. They often don't start where I start the stroke and then they start drawing after I've applied a little more pressure. Does this sound like what you are experiencing?
    4. Would you please try installing the Wacom "Bamboo Paper" app on your iPad (available in the app store), connecting your Wacom Intuos Stylus to that app, and see if you see similar behavior. If so, I'm afraid there's not much I can do from my end. I would suggest contacting Wacom Customer Care and telling them about your issue (http://us.wacom.com/en/support or 800-922-6613 in the US).
    Thanks,

  • Photoshop CC brushes extremely laggy with Wacom Intuos Pro!

I've been messing around with digital painting on an iPad for a while, and just bought a Wacom Intuos Pro (medium) so I could do so on my Macs.  I immediately noticed input lag from the Intuos, so started to do some testing.  It doesn't appear to be the tablet.  The same lag exists in Photoshop when using the Mac's trackpad, but the problem disappears entirely when I move into Corel Painter, trackpad or Intuos.  Some lag exists in Illustrator, but not nearly as bad as Photoshop - Photoshop CC really seems to be the culprit.
I've uploaded a video (from my iPad; sorry for the quality) of this behavior: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwR76V-hmLU
Any thoughts?  Calling Adobe first resulted in finger-pointing to Wacom (quickly squelched when I pointed out the same problem existed when using the trackpad), and then sending me a link to a 5-year-old Adobe Forum post that's for Photoshop CS4 and Wacom Intuos 4 tablets - that's 3 versions back for Photoshop and 2 versions back for the tablet.  (Of course, the solutions present in that post no longer apply.)  Here's the link, for anyone interested: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3709366
Any thoughts?  Painter seems nice, but I'd really like to be able to do digital painting in Photoshop as well.  This issue makes that quite a bit more difficult.

I have an intuos 5 touch not the pro. However have user my son's intuos5 pro on my machine for his first pro had a bad touch ring and he wanted me to test his tablet.
I do not have a problem with normal brushes like you show in Photoshop.  I can produce long delays using large wet mixed brushes though. However ever small mixer brushes work more like the brush stroke you show using painter painter on my windows workstation in Photoshop CC 14.2.1 current version and prior versions.
I using wacom driver 6.3.7.5 I see there is a version 6.3.7.6 I'll download a try that now.

Hi, I have macbook Pro, running Leopard OS X. I partitioned my hard drive a while ago to install windows and only allowed myself 10 Gig of data. I deleted windows after i realised i wasnt enjoying using it at all and wasted my hard drive. I now decided that i want another OSX on there instead yet i have only allowed myself 10 gb on the partition. I have ben thru some programms but am struggling on making this partition bigger.
I only want it at 20gb but cant seem to make the partition bigger, only smaller or split it into further partition.
Is there a way to do this, i have all installation discs from original OSX so think this could help.
Any help please would be fantastic.
    Thanks Chris

Hi, dragging the partition will only make smaller, not larger. In disk utility you can only split or make smaller the partitions. Yes i booted from installation disks also but still no help.
And Brody, I am willing to erase the disc completely, infact jus started doing a backup in order to do so but that failed also. And the information you gave on partition a hard drive, Although very simple and i already know how to do this, but it wont let me make the partition bigger, and i dont want to make a new partition, just enlarge the one i already have, which i dont see possible from disk utility.
Getting really frustrated now, even backing up is saying no to me. **** external being a douche.
I dont mind erasing the hard drive but surely this must be doable without deleting the secondary partition back t a single volume, and re partitioning into 2 volumes again.
    Thanks again

  • How do I get non anti-aliased vector rectangles in Photoshop CS5 using a Wacom Intuos 4?

    Hello,
When using Photoshop CS5 to draw a vector rectangle using the Wacom Intuos 4, the rectangle comes out anti-aliased, but when I draw a rectangle using a mouse on the same machine, there is no anti-aliasing.
What can I do to get sharp, non anti-aliased vector rectangles?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

c.pfaffenbichler, here is a screenshot of my problem:
The red square was created using a mouse and the blue square was created using my Wacom pen, which you can see the anti-aliasing on.

  • Wacom Intuos III in CS4 64 bit - isn't work at all - help?

    Hello!
I've just barely built myself a new computer and am running Vista 64bit.  I downloaded the trail version of Photoshop CS4 64 bit to play around and I noticed my tablet (Wacom Intuos 3) is not working in the program.  I move my pen and nothing happens for a long while.  After about 5 seconds, the cursor will move maybe 2cm but is largely unresponsive.  Completely useless for painting/animating.
Is there anything I can do?  All my photoshop work is tablet based so I'm starting to freak out just a little bit here.  I'd really appreciate any help/advice .  Thanks!

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I've tried everything listed and unfortunately nothing works.
I was only using the trail to see if it was worth upgrading now that I have Vista 64 bit, and in the meantime I've re-installed CS3 on my new computer... only to discover my tablet isn't working in CS3 either... I wonder if it's time to panic yet!
ETA:  I'm positive this isn't a problem with my tablet as it's working fine in other programs on this PC and on my other PC.  Sadly, that pc is an ancient relic so it's not as if I could use any version of CS on it.
    UPDATE:
Disabling Vista's Tablet PC Input Service in Administrative Tools under the Control Panel is now allowing me to use my tablet in CS (it will at least move now).  However, there is no pressure sensitivity.

  • Wacom Intuos + Yosemite = Freeze

Just as an FYI to those of you having issues with Wacom Intuos tablets and Yosemite.
There is definitely an issue causing lockups/freezing with the Wacom drivers under Yosemite. This is also being discussed over at MacRumors.
    My combo is:
    Retina iMac (iMac 15,1)
    OS X Yosemite (10.10, Build 14A389)
    Intuos 5 Pro tablet
Latest Wacom OS X drivers (6.3.10w2)
    Symptom (nearly 100% reproducibility)
Let computer go to sleep (iMac power settings at defaults). When you wake the computer, login screen comes on, then the entire system locks. No mouse, no keyboard input, nothing. Just the login screen. Only way to get the system back is a hard reset with the power button.
When the Intuos tablet is unplugged (but drivers still installed), problem still happens.
When the Intuos drivers are uninstalled (using the utility in Applications/Wacom/Wacom Tablet Utility), problem goes away.
Here's hoping Intuos gets their drivers fixed ASAP, because for now, some of us have very expensive paperweights on our desks.

I see you are running LR 2.6. You should load version 2.7, which is the last update for LR 2:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4673
LR updates reload the complete program, which will eliminate the installation as an issue.
The link I posted talks about the larger Intuos4 tablet, but all Intuos4 tabletsuse the same USB connector type. Apparently the internal solder connections can break from heavy tugging on the small miniUSB connector. I have the medium Intuos4 and wrap the cable across the back edge and held down with a small piece of clear tape. Since your problem seems to occur intermittently (after ~ 1 hour) it indicates losing the USB connection to your tablet may be the cause. You can use a camera miniUSB cable to replace your current cable for testing purposes. I have about six of these, since one comes with virtually every camera today. I also suggest plugging it into a different USB port on your computer, to eliminate that possibility as well.
If you still have the problem you can try deleting your Preferences file, which does NOT get replaced when you reinstall or update LR:
    http://lightroomers.com/replacing-the-lightroom-preference-file/745/
On Windows 7, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Users/[username]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom/Preferences folder, and delete the Lightroom 2 Preferences.agprefs file. LR will create a new preferences file the next time it is opened.
If still no joy perhaps upgrade to LR4, which has its own set of issues and learning curve.

  • Issue with Wacom Intuos tablet since installing Leopard

I have been having a problem with my Wacom Intuos 3 tablet ever since I loaded Leopard. Often on initial start, the tablet is not working. I have to shut down and start again (notice I didn't say Restart because that doesn't fix it). Often after waking from the Sleep mode the tablet is again not working.
Initially upon the Leopard install it wouldn't work at all and I loaded the most recent driver (and yes, it was flagged as the #1 reported problem at Wacom Support) but the performance has been sketchy since reinstalling the drivers.
Anyone know anything else about this? Thanks.

I tried what nerowolfe suggested but that did not resolve my issue. I did a few hours trial and error and this was what I posted on the Wacom forum:
I am having similar problems with Intuos 3, driver 6.0.5-2, Leopard and MacBook Pro. On boot up Intuos is working fine, but once computer goes to sleep and wakes up, Intuos is dead. Unplugging and plugging back into the same usb port will not resolve the problem. To fix it I either have to switch usb port or reboot the computer. The initial usb port will be unable to connect to the Intuos until either the computer has rebooted OR the computer has been put to sleep with the Intuos connected to another usb port. The usb port that has been made inoperable with Intuos after sleep IS operable with other devices such as iPod's and usb flash drives. To resolve this problem I have clean installed Leopard and freshly installed driver 6.0.5-2 but the problem remains.
After 2 hours of turning applications on and off, tweaking different settings I have finally found what causes my Intuos sleeping disorder. Bluetooth! Bluetooth on — sleeping disorder, Bluetooth off — NO sleeping disorder.
I have tried removing my paired devices and paired them freshly up again, but still, Bluetooth on — sleeping disorder.
I have not removed any Bluetooth .plist files and such, mainly cause I am a bit tired now and I do not know what to delete. So, if anyone reading this knows which Bluetooth files I can delete to reset Bluetooth as much as possible I would be very happy if sharing.
Hope this problem can be resolved.

  • Erratic pen pressure with Wacom Intuos 3 in CS4

Very light paint strokes on my Wacom Intuos 3 produce a full force stroke in CS4 every 3 to 15 strokes.  Anybody else have this problem?
This does not happen with CS2.  Also, using the Wacom diagnostics, I can make endless light strokes and never see the pressure go above 16%.
I'm using CS4 11.0.1, Wacom driver 6.1.1-3, Nvidia GeForce 6800 with drivers updated 8/10/2009, Windows XP.
    Thanks,
    -Rob

Wacom has just released a new driver version that some say has cleared up the pen pressure problems:
    http://www.wacom.com/en/CustomerCare/Drivers.aspx?model=Intuos3&os=Windows+7
EDIT:  I no longer see the June 2011 driver on that site.  It was there earlier today!

  • Photoshop CC doesn't recognize the right mouse button of my Wacom Intuos pen tablet, how do I solve this?

For some reason photoshop CC doesn't respond to the right mouse button that is on my tablet pen.
It's strange because it does work for illustrator CC, so why would photoshop CC not respond to it?
    Anyhow, help please!
I have a wacom intuos pen tablet.

I checked my settings and they´ve always been like this:

  • MacBook can't see my home wireless network after upgrade to OSX 10.8.5

After upgrading to OSX 10.8.5, my MacBook does not detect any wireless nertworks. My iPad and iPhone work fine, my router has been rebooted, WiFi is turned on, and the ethernet connection is how I am writing this message to you via broadband. There are a half dozen wireless networks in range (according to my iPhone) but the MacBook cannot find the router I am sitting next to. Any ideas on how to correct this issue?

It appears an SMC reset was required:
HT5815 I've just done the 10.8.5 update on my MacBook Pro end of 2008, and WiFi don't work after reboot... Impossible to activate it...
Here is your other post: MacBook can't see my home wireless network after upgrade to OSX 10.8.5
If you reply to it and marked it "solved", perhaps with a link to that post (copy and paste it, or just say you performed the SMC reset) it will help others find a solution. Thanks!

Trying to clean up my iMac.  Noticed that while in finder, I click on Applications and in the list I see another folder called applications that is a duplicator of the original folder.  Is this truly a copy that can be deleted?

DO NOT remove either folder. DO NOT mess with any OS X system files either. If you have dupliocates check your files in iPhoto, iTunes and your iMovies libraries. Also check your data files, under ALL circumstances stay away from any OS X systems files or you will probably bork your Mac to the point it will not run.
