Wacom pen pressure sensitivity with PS elements 9

I was just using the free trial with CS6 and was able to get  it to ignore the pen pressure sensitivity, so that it was the same size no matter how hard i pressed down. In elements I'm having a hard time in getting it to ignore the pressure sensitivity. I have the pen settings in the wacom software on the softer side so you dont have to press down hard to get the full size of the brush in photoshop, but when I go to test it out in PS it doesnt ignore the pressure.
Im using it on windows 7.
Any ideas?

With the Brush Tool selected in pse 9 did you look at the settings for the graphics tablet?
It's a small arrow as in the screenshot below to reveal the popup menu to set the pressure options.
Since you posted in the full photoshop forum you might post over in the photoshop elements forum if the above doesn't work:

  • Wacom pen pressure sensitivity always turns off in Photoshop

I got this issue since I got my new windows system.
I do my daily Photoshop session with my Wacom Intuos 4, then randomly later, sensitivity of the pen turns off. The only way to recover the problem is to reboot Photoshop and sometime the whole system.
Any idea why it doing that?
I downloaded the latest Wacom drivers and Photoshop CS4 is up to date and the problem still persist.

When you get this problem again. See if you can open the Wacom Control Panel applet.  Some see if the tablet is still working for that applet.  If not try checking the Wacom service is running perhaps stop and start it. If that does not fix the problems see if logging off and back does. I have lost my some Wacom Intuos 5  function in Photoshop. The tablet seemed to be working for I could move the cursor.   However I think it was widows Pen support doing the movement not Wacom for when I tried the wacom controll panel app it did not think a tablet was connected.

  • No wacom tablet pressure sensitivity in LR6

After installing LR6 there is no pen pressure sensitivity with wacom intuos pro tablet (Win 8.1, latest wacom driver)
With LR 5.71 everything was ok.

I have the same problem with a total different Wacom tablet and I am running 10.10.3. I have posted a thread here about it. There are others having the same issue as well: Lightroom 6 bug when using adjustment brush, mask overlay and a Wacom tablet

  • Pen pressure issues with CS6

So, I'm having an odd issue with my tablet and its pressure sensitivity with CS6. I've got a Genius MousePen tablet; M508W model. I can use it on my mac computer with photoshop elements; pen pressure works just fine with it. In CS6, when I do the stroke preview for all of my burshes, it shows the tapering-- as well as in the brush settings. When I go to make an actual rush stroke though, it doesn't apply the pressure settings. I've got the most recent drivers for the tablet downloaded, All of the old driver software was uninstalled, I've made sure that the drivers are for my version of windows, I've tried setting the compatability back to windows 7 and using the windows 7 drivers, but STILL nothing. The only reason I'm lead to believe that this is an issue with CS6 is that the tablet works with PS Elements just fine. If anyone could help shed some light on the situation, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I am having a similar issue.
Working in CS6 on a Cintiq Companion.
Pressure sensitivity disappears while I'm working.
The only way to get it back is to quit out of Photoshop and relaunch.
The pressure sensitivity works fine in Autodesk Sketchbook.

  • Pen pressure sensitivity stops when I have more than one window open

I recently upgraded to Flash CC and have noticed some new bugs. Here's one of them:
When I have more than one document open at a time, my pen pressure sensitivity stops working. In fact, it seems to work on the newest opened document, but will stop working on any previosuly opened documents. If all but one document is closed, the pen pressure returns.
    I'm using Windows 8, and a Cintiq 21UX.
    Steps to reproduce:
    - Launch Flash.
    - Open a new document.
    - Select the "Brush" tool.
    - Toggle "Use pressure" in the tool bar.
    - Draw something to make sure the pen pressure is working.
    - Open a new document.
    - Draw something to make sure the pen pressure is working.
    - Return to the previous document and attempt to draw.
    - Notice how the pen pressure is absent.
Any help or suggestions would be great. Thank you.

No problem.  I've been using older versions of Flash until CC gets the bugs squashed.  This pressure issue is a deal breaker for my coworkers and me, and also this audio one: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6013488?tstart=0

  • How do I get pen pressure sensitivity in Photoshop CS5?

    Hi
There is no sensitivity to pressure in my Photoshop CS5. I have installed the driver for my tablet (Intuos 4), but it still doesn't work. I have also clicked the icons for both pressure and opacity in the bar at the top, but they made no difference.
I see a triangle with an exclamation point in the brushes menu by the control options. It says "Control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet," so I take this to mean that my tablet isn't supporting sensitivity.
The tablet works just fine, but the sensitivity won't. What should I do?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I figured it out! Pen Pressure is working just fine now. Here are the steps I used to fix my problem. Thanks for your help, Noel!
    Windows 7/Vista Pro Driver
-Disconnect the tablet from the computer
-Open your start menu and then the Control Panel
    -Open programs and features
-Uninstall any listing here for Tablet or Wacom Tablet and then restart the computer
-After restarting, download and install only the latest driver (6.16) from wacom website
-Once the installation is complete, and the system is stable, connect the tablet.

  • No pen pressure sensitivity in CS3

I am running both Photoshop versions CS2 and CS3 on a Macbook Pro with Leopard 10.5.6 installed. I have downloaded the latest Wacom driver for use with my Intuos2 tablet. Running CS2 the pen's pressure sensitivity is working fine. Running CS3 however, gives only 100% pressure on every stroke, regardless of the applied pressure on the pen.
    Can this be solved?

Be aware that when running CS2 under Leopard, there are usability issues that Adobe will not correct, as CS2 is long discontinued.

  • Wacom tablet pressure sensitivity, dont work outside canvas

    Hi.
I wonder, if i'm the only one, who are having problems to start a stroke outside the canvas and follow it on the canvas, without the pressure sensitivity is all on max.
seems the same is happing, if you have marked an area and start at stroke outside that area. kinda like the brush only start recognize the pressure level when on the canvas or marking.
    does it make sense?
    running windows7 64bit intous3 A4.
tested in on my my laptop too on the intous3 A5, same problem.
    /cheers

    Hi JJMack
    thx for your comment
    - i'm on photoshop cs5, any brush thats pressure sensitivity, did it with both docked and floating canvas.
I think i've fixed the issue.
Apprently its a problem with the newest version of the wacom driver. And somehow it only affects photoshop.
i've downloaded the march 2010 driver from wacom. And installed that. seems to be fixed.

  • Does Lightroom's brush tool support Wacom Pen Pressure?

Does Lightroom brush tool support true "pen pressure" from the Wacom Intuos tablets?  According to Weston Maggio and Joe Sliger of Wacom (in numerous Webinars), "Pen pressure has been supported since Lightroom version 2."  I have used Lightroom's brush tool extensively and find no difference between the Pen and the Mouse.  The FLOW slider seems to be the only thing that adjusts how much effect applied.  If you continue to 'paint' your brush adjustments over an area with a flow of 20% it will gradually build up with either pen or mouse but the amount of pressure on the pen appears to make no difference.  If there is "Pen Pressure" available how do I enable it?  Thanks

No, it is not. Wish it was for adjusting the "flow" in the adjustment brush, but that's really what Photoshop is for (meaning local adjustments). I perform all global adjustments in Lightroom and open the image as a smart object in Photoshop. Much better control, Lightroom is too limited as to local adjustments to be truly useful. Other than "flow," I see no reason for pen pressure so it's ok.

  • CS4 Brushes Not Pressure Sensitive with OpenGL Drawing Enabled

    Hi,
Four days into my CS4 experience. Not awful, but not good either.
Running on Vista Business 32bit, Phenom 9550 Quad Core, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 7600 GT.
I just tried my WACOM tablet and the brushes were very slow, missing the start of some strokes and most importantly no pressure sensitivity. I did
a little searching and someone suggested switching off OpenGL and this has
    fixed my problem.
Does anyone else have a similar experience ?
Also, is my 7600 GT card not powerful enough ? When I moved to CS2 from 7,
I had to upgrade my graphics card - which was running just fine with 7.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shahzad

    Hi,
    Thanks for the tip.
As it happens, I also updated both my Wacom and Nvidia drivers
and when I switched OpenGL back on, things were fine. The pressure
sensitivity was back and the lag was gone.
I'll also try playing around with the settings as you suggest.

  • Is there a way to simulate pressure sensitivity with a mouse?

I dont have a tablet, so is there any way I can make strokes with my mouse that look like they were made with a pressure sensitive pen? (thinner edges, thicker middle)

You can use Stroke Path with Pen Pressure enabled is one way.
What version of photoshop are you using?

  • Pen Pressure sensitivity not working

I'm using Intuos4 and the pen pressure won't work.
I've downloaded the latest driver and the patch for Photoshop CS5.
Do I need to do anything else? Or is there a problem with my program?
    Cherry.

When you use the Brush Tool, in the Options bar appears an icon that gives you access to the Brush Engine:
Here you can set options for the brush including using Pen Pressure if you use a tablet:

  • I have pse 12 i bought a wacom intuos pen tablet small recently but when i click on the tablet options only the opacity pressure sensititive option works everything else does not respond to pen pressure sensitivity

who's fault is it adobe or wacom?who should fix the problem or can i fix it on my own? the wacom driver is up to date just in case u suggest that to me.

This is the Photoshop Touch for tablets forum. But anyhoo...
I have a Bamboo Splash tablet that I use with Windows 8.1 64-bit but have zero problems using it in Photoshop CC 2014.2.2. Things that come to mind to me are:
You didn't mention what model tablet. Wacom has a range of drivers for your specific model here. Try that.
There's no way that you can install Mac drivers on a Windows system. Mac drivers come as DMG files; Win drivers come as EXE files.
If you have the proper drivers installed and it's still giving you overall system issues, look into other aspects of your system. e.g., Are there other applications running in the background that could interfere? Exit them. Are all the drivers for your components updated? (Video, audio, etc.) If you don't feel computer savvy, get someone who is to take a look.
ON EDIT: I am a derp. I just saw the thread title. Sorry about that. Go to the link I posted above to find the Windows drivers for the Intuos 4.

  • LR 3.2 - Adjustment Brush flow & Wacom pen pressure

I'm noticing that regardless of how much pressure I put down with the Adjustment Brush, I cannot get a full 100% flow in one stroke, especially when using a larger brush size. For instance, with the Mask Overlay turned on and my brush settings are Size 50, Feather 0, Flow 100, Density 100, if I press down once with the pen and press down with force, the mask isn't applied completely. I have to "scribble" a little to get the full amount of adjustment in the area. Is this the way the brush was designed or a bug in v3.2?

    SImilar issues here.
Today I completely uninstalled and reinstalled LR3.2. This issue, and many other issues, are still there. Everything else just works fine including other Adobe products, so it is a Lightroom problem.
I suggest that anyone that depends on Lightroom, NOT TO BUY this product (LR3). Stick to LR2, or something else.
