WAD 7.0 Connection BW7.0 ABAP and BI stack JAVA ?? & WEBEX

Hi experts,
My question is probably too simple but .....
I am from basis components and I have some littles questions..
I have 2 systems :
- 1 BW 7.0 ABAP stack only
- 1 BI 7.0 JAVA standalone
I have configure UME and Webex between the two systems.
For testing, I use internet explorer on the portal...It's OK.
But consultants wants to use a "WAD 7.0"...
What i would like to know :
- WAD could connect directly on the ABAP BW ? Or throw the BI 7.0 JAVA?
- In case they could connect directly to the ABAP, a BI JAVA was necessary? SP 07  for abap STACK?
Last question :
In my Bi portal user from abap stack are created by UME (from abap)  but tkey don't have any permissions...This is normal or my user mapping is wrong?
Thanks for your help in this new world for me.
cdt,
patrick

    Hi Venkat,
if u know java very well, then u can take up EP. ABAP is also very easy one to read and understand, as ur basically from prgming background.
To start with go thro the classical abap and then come to abapoo.
u can find so many link when u search for doc in sdn.

  • Connectivity between ABAP and Java Stacks for BI

    Dear all,
our BI developer have to use BW Analyser for showing and changing of BW reports in Java based NetWeaver Portal.
Initially just ABAP stack (SID DCE) was installed. In Februar 2014 I installed also an Java Stack (SID JCE) and got dokumentation for
connection to ABAP Stack from SAP Support, it is attached. Further help from SAP Support is not possible, they mean that this
    case belong to consultion issues.
    Follow activities were sucessfully done:
    1. RFC connection DMSAPERP4DEV_PORTAL_JCE was created in J2EE engine
    2. RFC connection DMSAPERP4DEV_PORTAL_JCE was created for Portal
    3. Portal Server Settings were maintained for portal
    4. Singe Sign-In in BI was maintained
    5. BI Certificate was imported from BI
    6. Portal Certificae was exported from Portal
    7. Portal Certificate was imported into BI.
By processing of attached SAP guide it was a problem at step 7 "Create BI System in the Portal"with the
creatig of BW system name. Under "System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape"
I found no systems which are maintained with the Portal Content Studio. I take a template "SAP_R3_Dedicated"
but can not change the system name to "SAP_BW", it is still "Dedicated Application Server for R/3 System". All other
    properties was set fine.
At step 8 of mentioned guide I face the next problem - there is no system names under "SAP Reference System"
under "Administration -> System Configuration -> Configuration for User Management", because the system
name on the step 7 could be not set correct, so I can not choose any.
Please advice how to proceed here.
    Thank you and best regards

    Hi,
It clearly says the problem is with virtual memory. SO you need to change your virtual memory settings using configtool.
    See the relevant note.940893
Make changes in the VM parameters for Bootstarp, Dispatched and the server nodes. Your -Xms should be less than equal to -Xmx.
    Restart the cluster then.
    It should work.

  • How to connect separated ABAP and Java stacks ?

    Hi,
I have installed two separate ABAP and Java Stacks and trying to connect both the stacks together.
As per my understanding, only JCO RFC is the mean of communication between ABAP and Java stacks.
But still even after configuring the JCO RFC successfully, I am unable to view, configure or control
J2EE stack's status from smicm (ABAP).
Would you please suggest me, if there is any more configuration to be done on abap or Java stack side.
    Thanks,
    Cheers !!!
    Ashish

    Hi Sunny,
JCO RFC is tested and it is working fine. So no issues from JCO RFC side. Hope you would have read carefully.

Hope I am able to clear your doubt. Java is completely separated stack and not add-on.
Suggest me how can I proceed further on this connectivity.
    =========================================================
    Hi Olivier,
I am grateful to you for your reply. I understood your point but now except a successful JCO RFC test,
is there any mean to check and ensure that both the stacks are connected properly and ready to use.

  • ABAP and J2EE-Stacks in SAP WEB AS

    Hi,
I have two questions about the technical architecture of SAP WebAS, particularly about the ABAP- and J2EE-Server.
Can someone recommend detailed papers/guides (besides help.sap.com)describing:
    1) the management of processes and resources in two parts (ABAP and Java)
    and
    2) The communication mechanisms between J2EE- and ABAP-server.
What are the problems with JCo?
Is there other possibilities to communicate between  2EE- and ABAP-server.(besides JCO), what is the performance in this case compares with JCO?
    Thank you!

  • Separating ABAP and J2EE stack after an Add-in installation

    Hi All,
While I need to migrate an Add-in installation (ABAP + J2EE) to a new machine, there is also a requirement to separate these stacks into two separate instances. Can you please suggest the approach for this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Regards.

    Hi Vincent,
if you want to have a two stack system you better install it that way, meaning two different installation for both.
Unfortunately then you might have some trouble with security after this I cannot foresee.

  • Differences between dual stack and single stack Java system copies

    Hi
Can any body please provide step - by -step procedure.
    Thanks in advance
Edited by: Kobby bryant on Apr 13, 2008 10:39 PM

    Hello Koby,
    Dual stack is ABAP+Java instance.
Single stack or Standalone is just Java instance. There is no ABAP part.
Using the installation wizard, you could select the desired option and the installation is performed accordingly.
If you are looking for any specific info, please provide the details.

  • Seperate ABAP and JAVA stack for BI

    Hi,
We already have running a ABAP stack with BI 7.0 on Oracle/AIX
We are now going to install the JAVA stack with the following software units (AS JAVA, EP, EPC, BI JAVA) to a seperate AIX server. I do have the following questions:
1.) The installation of the JAVA stack will also create a new database or is it possible to use/connect to the database of the ABAP stack
2.) How are we going to connect the ABAP server to the JAVA server. Will that be with JCO or RfC or something else.
3.) Installing the JAVA on a seperate server, how the handle the user store. Creating its own or can we use the user store of the ABAP such as in a dual stack installation ?
4.) Other issue's what is worth to mention
    please advise
    Ritchie

    Hi Ritchie,
You can have different installation options.Amswers below
1)As you are installing in a different system It will create a sepatate database and the connection will happen through jco/rfc.
    2) jco/rfc will be used for connection
3)User store will be selected according to the installation mode mentioned in the installation guide.

  • WebDispatcher on ABAP and JAVA on serperate Servers

    Hi all,
i read a lot of hours trough post concerning issues about web dispatcher, but i didn't find anything that suits my problem.
We have a MSCS-Cluster. One Node has the db which is for ABAP and JAVA (different schemas).
Than we have an SCS for ABAP and one for JAVA.
So the ABAP and JAVA-Instances are physically separated.
Now we want to use a web dispatcher to pass the requests to the right destination.
But i am not sure how to set it up. Do we need 2 dispatcher, or can one handle the requests. How does the dispatcher knows, where to redirect the requests ?
Is that done with the parameter icm/HTTP/redirect_<xx>  ?
in hope of any advise to this problem
    yours
    BjoernTrabes

So, i tested around a little bit.
i am not clear with the function of the dispatcher.
When i bind the ABAP Dispatcher, than all requests to /sap/ are handled by the ABAP-Stack an are working, but when i browse to an Adress like /irj/portal/ the dispatcher says that the Adress is noch reachable.
When i bind the dispatcher to the Java-Stack, than all Java-Adresses work, but the /sap/ not, which is the ABAP Stack.
so, i don't know exactly where my fault is.
How knows the Dispatcher, where the ABAP or JAVA-Stack is.
On an other Machine where the java is an add-in, it works quite well, but on this server the abap and Java Servers are physically separated.
    greets
    Bjoern

    Hi,
Step step description here is not possible.
It always advisable to go to service.sap.com/instguides.
slow and steady wins the race.
    good luck.
It's advisable to have quad processor with atleast 8GB ram.
If it's a nw04s then at a shot you can select AS ABAP. JAVA, EP, PI(XI) and proceed.
    hope this helps you.

  • Patch ABAP and JAVA

    Hi,
I´ve a application ABAP netweaver with the EHP1 with the level 701_05, but to I´ve an application JAVA netweaver with the level 7.00_17.
What can i do to have the same level of the kernell and basis?
    More thanks

    Hi,
There is no generic answer to your question.
This depends a lot of what you are running on ABAP and what on Java.
For example, if you want to run ESS on netweaver JAVA, the necessary SP levels and business packages releases and patch levels will depend from the EHP level, the basis and HR support packages of the ECC 6 back office abap system.
You have to read a lot of documentation and OSS notes to get this information...

  • DB-API in ABAP and J2EE

    Hello!
I have two questions regarding the communication mechanisms between ABAP- and J2EE-Stack.
1)Is Jco the only one solution to communicate between ABAP- and J2EE, or exist other possibilities (if Yes, is there some comparison papers: performance, advantages/disadvantages).
    2) Which similarities/differences are in the DB-communication in both Server? (e.g. each Workprocess in ABAP/Serverprocess in J2EE<--> DB-Process)
Which DB-API is used in both stacks?
    Thank You!
    Regards

    Hi, Peter!
For both languages - ABAP and Java - SAP offers a Dictionary (for definition of database objects) and Open SQL (for database independency), you may also in both languages embed static SQL scripts into you code (via SQL/J in Java).
For Java there' s the Persistence-Framework offering three support levels, Vendor-JDBC, Native and Open SQL the last one guaranteeing the maximum support. You may in Java access data - via JDBC and SQLJ - in a relational or - via EJB/CMP or JDO - in a object-relational way.
Performance-Features like Table-Buffering exist also in both stacks.
Please have a look at <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/de/61/fdbc3d16f39e33e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm">Developing Java Persistence</a> for more information regarding the Java-Part.
