WAD report broadcasting as PDF error
Hi,
I am trying to broadcast a report in PDF format. The report is from a web template that has a table of 2 rows and 4 columns with 8 chart web items. But the PDF file displays only one graph in a row instead of the 4 defined in the template. What can I do to correct this?
Thanks.
Hi Sanjeev,
As i understood that you have 4 Graphs in each row, and u have 2 rows.
The first row has a graph and Table of 2*4 matrix.
But the problem is u r getting only 1 Graph per row in the PDF.
If this is the case:-
I hope this might be the page cutter problem when converting from WEB page to PDF.
Please check the Page settings in the Wed item properties.
If possibel limit it to a sizw where you can see 1 table and 4 Graphs in your web reports itself, so that you have the same in PDF.
User the Insert table options befor putting any beb tiems on toi the Web designer page, it will help you in organize the web items in a proper way.
Best Regards,
VNK.

I believe you have already posted a Q on Dashboards
Re: DashBords
& many have responded with documentation links that can help. I suggest you take time to go thru' the links.
Reference to data provider "%NM%" is invalid
In the Web Application Designer, create a data provider with the name %NM% in template ZDEMO_WAD, or change the reference to the data provider in Web item ANALYSIS_ITEM_1
You need to first create a Data Provider, say DP1, on either an InfoProvider/Query/QueryView to be able to bind it to any webitem in a WAD template. Once created, assign DP1 to ANALYSIS_ITEM_1 under Data Binding properties.
No reference To data provider defined
In the Web Application Designer, set parameter DATA_PROVIDER_REF in template ZDEMO_WAD for Web item DROPDOWN_ITEM_1 to a valid data provide
Create DP2 first & then have it assigned to the DROPDOWN_ITEM_1 under Data Binding properties. -

Financial Reporting Studio - pdf error
I have one FRS report that will not produce a pdf when running as a view in Workspace or when running as a batched report. All my other reports are working fine. This reports does preview/print in the Reporting Studio and works in HTML on Workspace. It also ran correctly in the past. Currently when opening in pdf format on Workspace it begins to run then displays a window with this message:
"Website cannot display the page"
When running in a batch the batch errors out with this message:
Executed "FOP/Income Statement Summary - RDD" successfully
Status for various save options for "FOP/Income Statement Summary - RDD"
Error while saving as PDF
Error unmarshaling return header; nested exception is:
java.io.EOFException
I can run the other reports in batch and they save correctly to the same place that this report should be going. So it not a permission issue to the directory where is should be saving the file.
Thanks in advanceHave you checked the logs? When I first saw the subject, I thought it was due to lack of Ghostscript installed on the FR Studio server, but looks like it is not the case.
Also a long shot, but does it happen in other machines? -
WAD report with Report Item occurs binding error
Hi,
We created a report by Report Designer and embaded in a WAD report. If we run the report in Report Designer,
It can generate the result correctly, but it will show "Binding error for characteristic value: / Binding error for key figure:Dynarmic" if we run it from WAD. Our server is on 7.01 SP6.
Thank you
Best Regards,
Michelle LeeHi Michelle,
The normal data references in a query have a reference to a dataprovider which should be static binding.
It may be that by using the Report Designer and then embedding the query in the WAD, the references have been lost and therefore you see the 'dynamic' mesage as the binding is not available anymore.
Hope this helps,

Hi All,
We have a WAD report for whcih we are not able to execute due to some wrong properties assignment, since we dont have change authorisation, so we tried to create a copy of WAD report by SAVE AS option and change the properties correctly.
But when doing SAVE AS we are getting below error.
Namespace '/BIC/' must be set to changeable (transaction SE06)
We dont have authorisation to SE06, although iam not sure what needs to be done in SE06.
Is there any other way to create a adhoc/copy of WAD report so that we can chage the properties of the report and can test it.
And what exactly SE06 tcode is used for??
Please advise.. thank youHi,
/BIC/ is the name space(Prefix) given for customer defined objects. you can understand this in fact table or DSO active table's naming difference between a standard cube and a custom cube.
in SE06 you will get option like in below picture,
there you can set/BIC/ as modifiable.
unless you set this to modifiable, you cannot create custome object in you system.

How to edit template for report broadcast
Hi,
my client publish the report thru information broadcast in PDF.
The report show the dynamic selection and variable selection information at the top of the report content and they want to remove it as it consume half page for this.
How can go to the report template they are using ? I see it has the company logo on page header so i guess it was already modified somewhere but I don't find this in SPRO...the fields there is blank.Hi Panadda,
Regretfully, you are correct that they have probably created a copy of one of the standard WAD templates that control the PDF print out - if it was a standard template you could go into the WAD and just do a search on anything starting with 0* and you would see something like QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70 - or one similar.
but what you will need to do now is find that template that is being used - it may be that they altered the standard 0 template - go review that first. If you find that template you will see that it will have some web items that you can change or adjust - this is where you will be able to alter the format.
either remove or filter those web items that you need changed on the PDF file print out.
Thanks, Pete -
PAYABLES NOT GETTING THE REPORT OUTPUT IN PDF AFTER APPLYING RUP5 R12
Hi All,
RDBMS:10.2.0.3.0
Oracle Apps :12.0.4
OS:AIX 5.3
Problem Description:
We are presently facing an issue in Payables not getting the report output in PDF esp for the reports "Invoice Register", Invoice Hold Report and also other reports. We were able to generate the reports till our last test performed on last Thursday. This instance was cloned over the last weekend and probably the new upgrade to RUP5 R12,would have impacted it.
Concurrent Programs submitted are completed normal but on clicking "view output" results in Blank PDF output.
The error message what was shown is as below:
"Adobe Reader could not open 'AcrC.tmp' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)".
Where could we locate ther above 'AcrC.tmp' of Adobe Reader..
could anyone please share such an experience encountered for resolution..
Would appreciate an early response..
Thanks for your time!
Regards,I suggest you speak to your DBA/sysadmin. This is not likely to be a reports problem.
Check that you can see the output from apps through the viewer (the report may not hav output anything)
Check whether you can print anything on that printer from apps.
May also be worth checking to see if you can print to another printer from this report. -
XML Report Publisher program is erroring out
Hi All,
I've customized the AR Customer Statements.
I've created a data definition as "ARXSGP" and uploded the sample_output.xml of Statement Generation Program to it. Also I've created a Data template as "ARXSGPO" and attached the data definition "ARXSGP" to it and uploaded the customized rtf file "XXHCC_CLE_F_ARCUSBALSL.rtf" and set the default output type to PDF.
As I donot wish to call the XML Report Publisher program manually every time when I Print the Statements through Print Documents-->Statements.
So I've done the below customization in ARXSGP.rdf file ie; Print Statements Report which is an Oracle Report.
I've added the below code in After Report trigger.
=======================================
FUNCTION AfterReport

Below code added for Customer Statement Case Study

ELSE
srw.message(20004, 'Failed to submit request');
END IF;

srw.message(20005, 'Template is not picked ');
END IF;
END;

SRW.USER_EXIT('FND SRWEXIT');
RETURN (TRUE);
END;

Excel 2013 macro to save pptx as pdf; error in code?
Hello MSDN community,
I know that this question probably was asked x1000 times, but i've been struggling for the past 6 hours to covert pptx to pdf via excel vba (this is required for my report generator, and in order to keep layout clean ad tidy i've decided to use PowerPoint,
because Word constantly mess things up).
Here's the code im using:
Dim ppt As Object
On Error Resume Next
Set ppt = GetObject(, "PowerPoint.Application")
If ppt Is Nothing Then
Set ppt = CreateObject("PowerPoint.Application")
End If
On Error GoTo 0
Set WDReport = ppt.Presentations.Open("C:\Users\User1\Documents\Folder\Final Report Template.pptx")
WDReport.UpdateLinks
Dim FileName2 As String
FileName2 = "C:\Users\User1\Documents\Folder\Complete Report\" & Sheet14.Range("Q3").Text & " No " & Sheet14.Range("U21").Text & " Report" & Sheet17.Range("E10").Text & ".pdf"
WDReport.ExportAsFixedFormat FileName2, ppFixedFormatTypePDF, ppFixedFormatIntentScreen
WDReport.Close
ppt.Quit
Set ppt = Nothing
Set WDReport = Nothing
But right after PPT file opens and updates links, i receive an error message "13 Type Mismatch" on the line WDReport.ExportAsFixedFormat
FileName2, ppFixedFormatTypePDF, ppFixedFormatIntentScreen. I've tried to replace WDReport with ActivePresentation, but received and error "429 ActiveX Component Cant Create Object".
Here's the list of Libraries activated:
Visual Basic for Applications
Microsoft Excel 15.0 Object Library
Microsoft Word 15.0 Object Library
Microsoft PowerPoint 15.0 Object Library
OLE Automation
Microsoft Office 15.0 Object Library
Additional info:
1. When initially i was converting .docx to pdf via excel vba, everything worked out fine (well except for the format, ofcourse).
2. I've tried to change
FileName2 to FileName2
= "C:\Users\User1\Documents\Folder\Complete Report\Report.pdf", but without any success.
3. Ranges used in FileName2 use the following variable data:
Range("Q3") is Name (e.g. Test Company)
Range("U21") is Number (e.g. 1234567891011)
Range("E10") is Date (e.g. Feb-15)
So the final file name would be like "Test Company No 1234567891011 Report Feb-15.pdf".
Once again, it worked fine when i was converting .docx to pdf
4. I've run this part of macro directly from PowerPoint, and it worked out fine.
Dim FileName2 As String
FileName2 = "C:\Users\User1\Documents\Folder\Complete Report\Report.pdf"
ActivePresentation.ExportAsFixedFormat FileName2, ppFixedFormatTypePDF, ppFixedFormatIntentScreen, msoFalse
So i guess there might be a problem with my Excel-PowerPoint commands execution?
I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me with this issue. Thanks in advance!Hello MSDN community,

This undoubtedly has to do with the FileName2 string, something must be incorrect with concatenation. As a test, in the VBA sub in Excel have the following
FileName2 = "C:\Users\User1\Documents\Folder\Complete Report\Report.pdf"
, I bet you the code would work :) -
Hitting some limitations on exporting a CR XI R2 report to a PDF.
Hello.
Using Crystal Reports XI Professional Release 2 SP6 V11.5.12.1838.
I have a stored procedure on an MS SQL 2005 server which requires 3 parameters.
A supplier, POD (Proof Of Delivery) Range Start and POD Range End.
The procedure generates a list of all PODs for that supplier in the required range where we have a scan of the POD.
The report that uses this procedure correctly generates the expected output in Preview Mode.
The report has a subreport. The sub report uses the same procedure and the run time parameters are passed through correctly, so I only ever need to enter 1 set of parameters for the report and the sub-report to work.
The sub-report generates the listings whilst the main report links in the scans, 1 per page, following the list.
The list (the sub-report) is in the main report header.
Basically, the report works.
I can see all pages (currently 795 scans) when I preview the report. The full report contains 12 pages of listings followed by 795 scans - a total of 807 pages.
If I export the report to a PDF file, I get a "Memory full" error.
Looking at Task Manager, I can see that crw32 Mem Usage has peeked at 1,366,692K (1.3GB )and VM Size is at 1,796,204K (1.8GB)
There is a temp file in ~crw{A1A3CBF4-9020-4729-9309-C51323FC9E9A}.tmp which is 18,497,404 in size, but I am unable to copy the file whilst CR is open and it is automatically deleted when the report is closed.
I've just upgraded from SP5. In SP5, I don't get the error, but the report seems to only have around 300 images rather than the full amount.
Rebooting and rerunning the report, and watching using SysInternals Process Explorer, I can see that the report runs in around 50MG of memory, but the exporting to PDF, the memory starts climbing upto 1.5GB and then slows down to 1.7GB and then the report runs out of memory (slightly different values but in the same region as when using Task Manager).
The machine has 4GB of RAM with plenty of pagefile space.
I'm out of things to try.
But am willing to give anything a go.

Hi,
I got an ASP.NET MVC (Razor View Engine and C#) application running on a Windows Azure Web Role.
I use RDLC local reports to create pdf files with printable price tags with respective barcodes.
I got it working on Azure after installing the barcode font (TrueType) using a start-up task. Recently, it stopped working without me changing anything related to this functionality.
I'm getting the following error and so far I didn't find any solution. I know the problem is the barcode font because the pdf is generated well with a standard font like Arial. Also, it works perfectly with barcodes when running the app
locally on my computer.

Any help on this issue would be welcome and sorry for any grammar mistakes.
Thanks in advance.
Vitor PintoHi Vitor,
Thanks for your posting!
It seems that the error may have more than one possibilities. I recommend you could try to use the Azure remote debugger to debug your cloud service project on Azure instance. Please see this tutorials:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cie/archive/2014/01/24/windows-azure-remote-debugging.aspx
You could debug your code using the cloud service URL.
And you could enable the Diagnostics feature for collecting Logging Data by Using Azure Diagnostics (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/gg433048.aspx).

Conversion of oracle 10g character (.txt) reports to bitmap (.pdf)
Hi,
I have two queries:
1) I want to convert oracle 10g bitmap (.rtf) reports to bitmap (.pdf) reports. I can do it by converting desformat. But the problem is .rtf reports have PAGESIZE 13 inches x 11 inches. After conversion to .pdf I need to have A4 size (11.7 x 8.3) . This also I can do it manually by changing width and height. But the issue is I'm getting error that : some object is out of body. So I have to change the marging of each and every report manually by trail & error method. Which is consuming lot of time.
So any one please provide me solution so that I can generate .pdf report in A4 format with out any issues. (By changing any class files, etc..)
2) I want to convert character(.txt) reports to bitmap (.pdf) reports. Again its having same problem as mentioned in (1). So any shortcut or any method for doing it.
Please let me know whatever you know abt this issue.
Thanks in AdvanceDon't think there are any shortcuts you can convert 13x11 to 11.7x8.3 without modification of the layout. changes or moves of the frames/fields are expected if they are beyond 11.7x8.3.

I have lost my iTunes library. How can I get my library back?
My iTunes library was stored on an external hard drive. Given that the MTBF of these drives is probably measured in months, I realize this was a bad decision on my part; nonetheless, it happened. How to I get my library returned to me?
