WAD report refresh

Hi Guys,
I have one Web template with 2 quaries in tab, one will give detialed infromation other will give high level view. Both reports having same varible when i run the report results are coming fine.
Now my requirement is after report results if i filter some values in report 1 the same should apply to other report as well.
For exapmle in an intial disply assume that i have selected 10 reigion, so report1 and 2 will give results, if i select filter on region1, other rerort should changed to one region details. how to achive the same in WAD.

Hi JB,
In the Data Binding Properties of Analysis webitem which corresponds to Report 1, plz. specify the Data Provider qry of Report 2 under Affected Data Providers. It should work.

You need to first create a Data Provider, say DP1, on either an InfoProvider/Query/QueryView to be able to bind it to any webitem in a WAD template. Once created, assign DP1 to ANALYSIS_ITEM_1 under Data Binding properties.

AJAX Report Refresh a_report- Condition for display not being validated

I have a report which has the following condition for dispaly:
Exists(SQL query returs atleast one row) - SELECT * from temp1The query for the report is : select * from temp1 Now I have a button on the page and on click of the button I call the below Javascript :

}Everything executes fine and the report refreshes the rows but the condition used for display doesn't get checked when I call $a_report() ...
I can see the ODP execute successfully and row gets inserted into temp1 which means report condition is satisfied .
If I remove the condition for the report, I can see the report getting refreshed and showing new rows through the $a_Report() call.
Is there something that needs to be added to the script or $a_report call to validate the condition too ?Is there a way I can validate the region condition too ?
Appreciate any suggestions/pointers here. I really do not want to refresh the whole page.

Thanks for your support.I figured where I was going completely wrong.
Its just that when the page loads for the first time the temp table is empty and hence the report is not being displayed which simply
means that the report id Im passing into the a_report function is not rendered on the page. Hence no matter what the temp table contains the report id is absent from the page.
I fixed it as follows :
Remove the condition for the report.
Added and item and computed(P_Compute) its value using select count(*) from temp.
Added an onload JS function which does a $x_Show('Report_Region') if P_Compute > 0 or $x_Hide('Report_Region') if P_Compute <0 .
Now in my JS function which has an AJAX call to an ODP does an $x_Show('Report_Region').
Flavioc : the query for my report is simple
select * from tempIt finally dawned upon me that I'm trying to catch hold of an ID that's not rendered.
So one issue is solved now the other part would be figuring out how to make $a_report work with pagination etc .

How to print title in WAD report

Hi,
I need to be able to print the title of a WAD report. I need this to be exported with specific font and color. I tried using the text box but, in text, I cannot give any font or size to the text. I am using the "Header" and giving the text of the title in the Print configuration, but is there any other alternate way? Any suggestions???

How to keep the input parameters in a query (WAD report)

In some WAD reports, we have to record the report name and the user name (which user use the report) and what the selection criteria the user input. How can we do?

Report name: create user exit variable (lets say Z_QUERY_NAME) with following code at I_STEP=2
WHEN 'Z_QUERY_NAME'.
DATA lv_compid TYPE rszcompid.
CLEAR lv_compid.
IMPORT compid = lv_compid FROM MEMORY ID 'COMPID'.
l_s_range-low = lv_compid .
l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
User name: crate user exit variable (lets say Z_USER) with following code at I_STEP=2
WHEN 'Z_USER'.
CLEAR l_s_range.
l_s_range-low = sy-uname.
l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
Then in WAD create 2 InfoField webitems. Set dataprovider and select variables for info fields.

When i save an existing WAD report with a new name and execute it, am getting some kind of chinese language instead of the variable screen. Please let me know what might me the issue and how to resolve it.

Change comma and period in key figure presentation in BEx WAD reports

Hi gurus
We run our BEx WAD reports in the SAP portal. By default the thousands separator is period and the decimal separator is comma. How can I change this so the period becomes the decimal separator and the comma becomes the thousands separator?

Hi Erik,
you can change this by setting at user parameters.
At system, at any screen (RSA1) -> menu SYSTEM- > USER PROFILE -> OWN DATA -> Defaults Tab, here you can change.
and Save.
these will reflect in WAD report output.

Few WAD report functionalities not compatible in windows 8.1 version

Hi,
We are currently facing an issue with one of the BEX(Web application designer 3.5) features not working as expected. we have currently using the BEX WAD report in windows 8.1 version and we see issues with the design of the report. The report is built in WAD 3.5 and it works fine in windows 7 OS where as there are some drawbacks of using this report in windows 8.1 . Has anyone faced the same issue, If so what could be the possible solution for this. Is there any SAP note that i can refer to??

To display the selection screen variant name in WAD report output.

Hello experts,
I have a requirement which is to display the selection screen variant description in the output of the WAD report.
I managed halfway, by using the object "Information field", which displays all the values which are selected by the variant.
Example:I have created a cost center report created using WAD, since I need some graphical displays..
In the selection screen, I have the characteristic "cost center" as input field. I have created a variant " GM - IT" which will include few cost centers managed by GM. In the output, I want the dispaly to be "Cost center - GM IT". Currently it displays "Cost Center - a,b,c,d" as the values a,b,c,d are the values from the variant name "GM-IT"
Please let me know if this required any java script. I am not familiar with java / html codes and any help would be much appreciated (and rewarded)

Hi,
Try this.
If you want to include your variables in your WAD means you have to choose "Force Variable Screen" option to be in enabled condition.
TO enable this,in WAD select your Template(New Template1) click the WEBITEM , it'll shows all generic properties , here you can enable this "Force variable screen"
Save and execute your WAD now you can get your variable screen.

WAD result row in the name of the WAD report

My requirement is we need to show summary of the result rows in front of WAD report output. Is it possible by any means please let me know.

WAD output as of now we have.
> costing report (Heading of the report) (compress)
> Query result (at the top or at the bottom)
I need Query result should appear at top level before clicking on heading costing report.

Issue with 'Comment' functionality in WAD Report

Hi All,
We have a issue while entering comment in a WAD report.
We are entering comment (eg:'Approved') to a Document 'ABC' belongs to Comp Code '123'.
After saving the comment we should ideally see the following
Document
Comp Code
Comment
ABC
123
Approved
But with the above action Comment is also being copied to all the Comp Codes which has Document 'ABC' .
For eg if the Document 'ABC' is being used in another Comp Code '456' then the comment is also copied to that.
Comp Code
Comment
ABC
123
Approved
ABC
456
Approved
ABC
567
Approved
Comment should be applied to unique Comp Code and Document combo s. Please guide.

Where do you see the standard cost as '8.42'? In listcube?
It is likely that there is nothing wrong with what you see. JPY currency's conversion factor is different from other currencies in the standard system. It is likely that the 'real' value <i>is </i> 842 Yen (Yen amounts not having any decimals in real life).
Adding further -
This behavior (if it is the reason) is due to the decimal place settings for currencies (stored in table TCURX). This is not meant to be changed.

Crystal Reports refresh issue

Hello,
I created some report's in CR2008 using MySQL database. I use (.udl) file to create a connection and connect to MySQL Server. I want to give the flexibility of refreshing this report on SQL Server, I created a (.udl) data source file for SQL Server and used it to connect to a SQL Server, by setting database location for the report, the refreshes works properly. But every time I open the report , it displays a new connection string, The Data Source name is only supposed to be "AAGARWAL-PC\MSSQL", but when I open a new report and refresh it, cr2008 creates a new connection string "AAGARWAL-PC\MSSQL_1". I dont understand the reason for this.
When I refresh a MySQL report on MsSql the report refreshes properly and creates a new connection string. But when I try to refresh a MsSQL report on MySQL the report does not refresh. I shows an error saying it cannot access the database objects, I guess the reason for that could be "dbo.tablename" for for MsSQL will not be supported on MySQL, is there a workaround for this?
Any ideas or thoughts on these issues?

No work around other than setting location manually to SQL Server. Both DB's require different SQL being generated therefore you can't assume CR will just work without giving it a chance to "fix" the connection info.
Easiest way is to have one report for each DB if you don't wnat to manage them through an application.

WAD Report(Template to be opened in new browser tab)

Hi,
I have an urgent issue with WAD Report.
I have my Template with Tabstrip containing Link Item, which opens another template on click. For this I used transfer state instruction by which new template is opened in the same tab of browser,I need new template(on clicking Link Item) to be opened in new tab of browser and the old one to remain in same browser tab.

I did something similar before.
I had three tabs.
Summary Tab
Details Tab
Totals Tab.
By default when user runs the template, first tab is displayed with summary details. When user wants to drill down to the details of particular line, then user clicks on the row. When clicked on the row, details report gets generated in the second tab but user manually needs to go to second tab to see the details.
To achieve this i did the following
DP1, Analysis gird properties
"row selection"-->single with command and used SET_SELECTION_STATE_BY_BINDING.

Auto report refresh on v2.2

I'm following an old thread on how to auto refresh a region. I followed the steps but
the page/region is not refreshing... Could anybody help me whats wrong? I copied
the colde from Carl's page. Im still stuck with 2.2.

are you talking about the database table caching? if so we are using OLAP cubes and I am not sure if caching is disabled. Is my issue related to caching? also another updated if I have just one dashboard prompt for example just year only report 1 refreshes and the report 2 doesn't disappear. But when I add state dashboard prompt, which ever prompt I change state or year both reports refreshes. The problem is when I add more than one prompt on the dashboard all the reports refreshes when the dashboard prompt selection changes. Any ideas.

DeskI report refreshable on the web

I am attempting to make a DeskI report available on the web. That part was easy, i saved as HTML, and was able to view it on a web page. But we need a step further, i need to be able to make this report refreshable, it has 4 prompts. We want the user to be able to enter info into prompts and get the report. I know this can be done, but cannot figure out why i can't make it work, any help is appreciated.

The browser reloads the document according to the frequency specified in the box, which ensures that the HTML document is kept up-to-date with changes made to the original document in BusinessObjects. This is similar to the document refresh feature.
