Bhanu,
I have noticed that in RSBBS we are able to use BW 3.x Web Application as receiver from a query, we dont see any option for BI 7 Web Application. Since we are creating our Web Application in BI 7, our Web Application reports are not being shown in the list of the receivers.
In the receivers option BW 3.x Web Application is there only, no option for BI 7 Web Application. Is there any setting needed to get this option?
Pls Advise?

  • Can we use RRI in WAD?

    Hi Gurus
    Can we use RRI in WAD?
    Thanks in advance
    Raj

    Yes.  I dont know if you can create it from WAD.
    But in GUI you can.
    The transaction is RSBBS.
    Remember to be logged in in the same language as you run the queries.  HTen the name on th RRI will be correct.

  • Multiple line selection for RRI  in WAD

    Is it possible to select multiple lines from 1 query and do a RRI to the receiver query. Eg : Select multiple POs and then go to PO details query which shows PO details of multiple POs in WAD and both the results shown in the same web report?
    I tried the below solution, but all I get is the display of the entire Master data dump and not the filtered values. Any suggestion?????

    Yes. You can do this. You create web template with ANALYSIS web item. In the item parameters of ANALYSIS web item, you can set a property, single line or multiple for the runtime selection. Once you do this, you create a button option or context selection menu option to jump target. In the button (RRI button) in the command sequence, the first command should be SET_SELECTION_STATE_BY_BINDING and then, the RRI command to jump to the target. Hope it will help.

  • How to implement  rri in wad

    hi experts,
    i have implemented RRI in bex analyzer but don'y know how to implement in WAD. So, please help me out...

    Hi Uday,
    You can jump from WAD to Bex query by selecting the sender query and in receiver query select report type as BW BEx Query.
    Here you need to remember that you are actually jumping from a query to another query, and not from WAD to BEx and vice versa.
    The procedure is exactly same except for the Receiver query report type.
    Hope it helps...

    Umesh.

  • Automatic closing of SAP GUI generated by RRI in WAD

    BW experts,
    I am having a showstopper scenario in our project.  Basically i have a webbased report produced by WAD 7.0 and it is working correctly.  I have an RRI connected to it.  The RRI receiver is an ABAP program which we execute based from the item in WAD (i.e document number).
    However, it always open 2 browsers. 1 is for the SAP Gui session generated by RRI and 2nd browser is open due to the code we have in our abap which calls a browser (CALL_BROWSER).
    My question now is, is there a way to put an IF-THEN condition somewhere, perhaps in javascript, where the 1st SAP gui session can be killed immediately and the 2nd browser opened?
    I have already used different components like RRI, ClOSE_WINDOW, Script_item in WAD but with no avail.
    Any ideas is highly appreciated.

    Hello,
    I’m glad that you answered me. Your feedback was helpful for me and a source of good news for our project.
    I saw the B1DE form generator, it is still axed on the screen painter, and also I saw Ibai’s project.
    I realize that SBO developers need a more powerful tool for developing their add-ons. For the same reason we have started this project and we’ll continue to develop it.
    This is not just a .srf generator and converter. A powerful feature is that our visual objects have implemented the business objects from DI API (of course you choose with what business objects the visual objects are associated, obviously for performance reasons). The business logic can be made at the designer level. It is improper to say that they generate code because the code is embedded in the visual objects, and no code line is added. For example a complex choose from list can be made in a few minutes without any code writing. In a month the SBO UI add-on generator will be ready. So you can have the add-on developed with Axel Controls in Windows forms without writing hundreds of lines, and additionally with a click the SBO UI add-on will be generated automatically (srfs, functionality, menu and the .exe). And let’s not forget that the Windows forms solution made with Axel Controls has the same feel and look as the SBO.
    If you still have ideas or suggestions please post them.

    Andrei Baciu.

  • WAD - Possible to embed RRI commands in CSS style menu?

    I'm not content with the standard web item options in WAD and was hoping I could create my own menu using CSS style commands and then embed the BI:ACTIONs within the list links.  Is this possible?  I've got the list created within WAD, but can't find anything out there on how and what BI commands to embed.  Any help or alternative suggestions appreciated.  Thanks.
    Ivano

    FYI, I found one simple way to do this.  You can use the web item "Link", define the RRI or other set of BI actions you want to perform within that in the Layout side of WAD.  Then, within the XHTML portion you can cut this relevant snippet of BI command code and place it under the CSS-style menu you're trying to create.  In my exmaple, I styled a drop-down list and was able to have this as action as a link within the sub-menus.  For example, here's the list portion:
    <ul >
                            <li >
                                <bi:LINK_ITEM name="DISTRIBUTIONMETRIC" designheight="23" designwidth="200" >
                                    <bi:TEXT_CONTENT value="Distribution Metric" />
                                    <bi:ACTION type="CHOICE" value="INSTRUCTION" >
                                        <bi:INSTRUCTION >
                                            <bi:RRI >
                                                <bi:TARGET_DATA_PROVIDER_REF value="%NM%" />
                                            </bi:RRI>
                                        </bi:INSTRUCTION>
                                    </bi:ACTION>
                                </bi:LINK_ITEM>
                            </li>
                            <li >
                                <a href="#" >Volume Metric</a>
                            </li>
                            <li >
                                <a href="#" >Marketshare</a>
                            </li>
                            <li >
                                <a href="#" >Standard Operating Reports</a>
                            </li>
                            <li >
                                <a href="#" >MPS Reports</a>
                            </li>

  • RRI values in WAD

    Hi,
        We have created the pie chart on the product query in the WAD 7.0,
        Product query is linked with Customer WAD template(3.5) by using RRI.
        After executing the pie chart i will check the goto option by selecting the particular product in the pie chart,but here customer template is displaying all the customer.
    we like to see only the customer related to particular product i had selected in the pie chart.
    Please suggest here.

    Venkat,
    In transaction 'RSBBS', where you create the assignment between the 'Sender' and 'Receiver', select the 'Receiver' query and click on 'Assignment Details'.
    In the 'Field Assignments', for the 'Customer' field select the 'Selection Type' as 'Parameter' and also select the 'Required Entry' check box. This will ensure that only one customer value is passed on to the 'Receiver'
    Hope this helps.
    Please let me know the outcome.
    Regards,
    Sri.

  • RRI in WAD...pass values

    Hello Gurus,
    I have gone thru many threads but couldnt find the same scenario so posting this question. I have developed a RRI and it works fine is BEX analyzer as well as in WAD. But when I open the main query in WAD, and jumping to child query, it asks me to enter the value of variables again for the child query. I am using the same variables in parent and child queries. In RSBBS, I have set assignments to Generic for all the fields. Is there any specific setting we need to check in WAD template so that it accepts all the variables properly in child query? Pls help me urgently......
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

    Thanks Gill and SVU123. Actually I am jumping from Web templ to query. I am using 2 structures for row and column. It is a finance query. It seems we cannot transfer variable values from structure to Structure. My Parent and child query fileds are exactly same but in child query,  I have couple of more characteristics in row. I tried same kind of jump queries for other regular queries and it is working fine. Pls let me know if I can jump with the same variable values for the structure fields.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rahul.

  • Use of Single Click in RRI/WAD

    I want to use a single click to link two queries in the WAD.
    I have created the Jump targets etc. and the context menu works fine (with Goto). I believe it is possible to have the link via a single click (Left mouse button) and have investigated the use of the Table Interface without success.
    Is there any other way to achieve this, failing that I wonder if anyone can give me a more detailed explanation of the Table Interface.
    Thanking you all in anticipation.

    Gareth,
    what you want to do will be a combination of Table INterface , Java and command URLs..
    A command URL goes like this
    <DNS>/sap-language=en&cmd1=ldoc&template=<your template ID>&cmd2=filter&iobjnm_1=<characteristics for jump>&iobjnm_1_value=<valyue fr the same>
    Here you go to the table interface and go to the method CHaracteristic_cell
    and modify the same.. have a link attached to the calue bu using the href command ad the c_cell_td_extend parameter
    Now ave the cell point to a javascript function like cell_jump(char)
    inside the cell_jump function create a javascript routine to create the jump url and redirect to the new URL and your ump is done. There is no need to have any RSBBS assignment for the same .. or customize the context menu to move the jump to the top of the context menu and be done with that.
    hope it helps..

  • Link in RRI/WAD

    Dear All,
    i want to use a single click to link two queries in the WAD.
    I have created the Jump targets etc. and the context menu works fine (with Goto). I believe it is possible to have the link via a single click (Left mouse button) for jump to another query.
    Is there any way to resolve this?

    Hi Andrey,
    my problem is connect via a hyperlink the char.  values of a query.
    This connection allows me to call a new filtered query to the selected value

  • About using RRI in WAD?

    Hi Experts,
        I have designed two queries for a scenario. To which I used the RRI. In analyser, I can able to move from sender to the receiver.
       I tried to do the same in the portal ( after creating the templates and executing), everything is fine regarding the template except the RRI. I can find the name of the receiver query in the context menu. But while selecting the query, it isn't displayed.
        Please give me the proper steps to do RRI in the template.
    With Regards,
    Yokesh Kumar.

    Hi Ingrid,
            Thank you for ur reply. But I not able to get it clearly. In rssbbs, I can found only the following report types:
        BW BEx Query, BW 3.x web apllication , BW Java Web application, BW Crystal Report, Infoset Query, Transaction, Abap Report, Web Address. On which I chose the first one.
       So pls give me the clear steps so that I can able to use RRI in the web report.
    With Regards,
    Yokesh Kumar.

  • [WAD] Filter on a structure in an RRI link

    Hello again, I have a second question,
    Is it possible to put a filter on structure's formula in an RRI link?
    I tried :
    SAPBWOpenWindow(SAP_BW_URL_Get ()"&CMD=RRI& RRI_RECEIVER=QURY0002 &FILTER_IOBJNM='MY_STRUCTURE'&FILTER_VALUE='MY_FORMULA_NAME'&DATA_PROVIDER=" + escape(dataprovider),"CustDetails",600,400);
    But it doesn't work. I thought the problem could come from the fact that a formula has no technical name but even with a ratio it failed!
    Thanls in advance.
    Mathieu

    Hi,
    First of all: Additional filter and navigation options are not possible with the command cmd=RRI.
    This means additional filters in RRI links are not possible.
    The filter link itself (meaning calling the Template without RRI and filter the data) would look like:
    <A href="<SAP_BW_URL CMD='LDOC' TEMPLATE_ID = 'MY_WEBTEMPLATE' FILTER_IOBJNM='43C72B1F0D4D5B73E10000009F32EC25' FILTER_VALUE='4042UXMO7XH2LONXW39H41OV9'>">LIEN</A>
    With BW 3.5. (NW2004) you could use the command RESET_DATA_PROVIDER with the parameter RRI='X'. This will internally utilize the RRI technology to transfer filter values and variables. With this command you can still add additional filter values or change the navigation state and so on

  • Open a crystal report from WAD with passing  the variables values

    Hi,
    I need to know is there any way to link SAP WAD to crystal reports (open a crystal report from WAD)and pass the values of the variables which are entered in the Web App. (e.g. Customer id,year) should be passed to the Crystal Report.
    Maybe we need to pass parameter by WAD URL but this is just my assumption and have no idea how to do this with passing variable values.
    right now I know the method of how Bex queries which are used as data source for crystal reports but in my current scenario we have the structure like this that bex queries link with WAD and then WAD is linked with crystal reports.
    No doubt that Crystal report is target option in RRI but there the source is Bex Query only but in current scenario we are looking  WAD (web template) as a source to crystal report or crystal report called in WAD.
    Please suggest something on same.
    Thanks
    Take care
    Vishal sharma

    Hello Vishal.
    Did you find a solution for this problem?
    I'm facing right now the same problem, I need a way to link SAP WAD to crystal reports (open a crystal report from WAD) and pass the values of the variables which are entered in the Web App. (e.g. Customer id,year) should be passed to the Crystal Report.
    Have found an answer to this issue? If yes, please kindly inform how have you solved this.

  • How to show a variable screen when clicking on direct link of report in ,when that report is used as target in RRI alsoRRI

    Hi All,
    I have created RRI between two reports and the type is web template/WAD.
    My requirement is to show the variable screen of target report when clicked on direct link and it should not show the var. screen if it goes from jump/go to.
    while currently I can not see var. screen on both the places and when switching the var. scree. display on in web template , it shows the screen at both the places.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Anu

    Hi Anu,
    "And when I am using another var. in assignment details which is ready for input (in both the queries), its not helping."
    Did you try using such a variable? What kind of a problem do you face? I am sorry I am still trying to understand your problem. I am just saying that which variable you use is not important for the first query. Only in the second query, add a variable with ready for input (I am not sure why the other doesn't work, I just tried and it gave an error, that's why I suggest this) and in RRI connection make the assignment with this variable. Please try this and let me know the result.

  • RRI no longer working after update from BI 7.0 SPs15 to SPs17

    Hello,
    since the upgrade of our BI-7.0 (2004s) from SPS15 (BI-ABAP SP17, BI-Java SP15) to SPS17 (BI-ABAP SP19, BI-Java SP17), we have a strange behaviour in our RRI-jumps (which worked fine with SPS15!) from WAD-Reports (SAP-Portal) to the ECC (via ITS-based Web-GUI):
    1) on first traversal in the Portal session, after login on to the ECC system, the SAP Easy Access page is displayed instead of the target transaction (nothing special: MM03, VA03, ...)
    2) on all subsequent traversal, a remote login page (from the ECC to the BI system) is first displayed; after doing the remote login (i.e. specifying the BI account), the target Tcode in ECC is displayed with the targeted data.
    This strange behaviour is new since the update. Before that, RRI worked as expected, bringing the user directly to the TCode after a first login.
    Has someone else experienced this behaviour and how was this problem solved?
    Thanks in advance,
    Hans.

    We faced similar problems with jumps after upgrading to SPS15.
    THe jumps from the 7.0 charts resulted in javascript error.
    And jump to infoset query with larger dataset resulted dump .
    SAP recommended application of java patches. But those java patches broken lot many things and hence not implemented.
