WAD space between bar chart

Hi Guru,
I have two questions:
I used a column bar chart on WAD for my dashboard development and right now there is no space between each of column or bar. Is there a configuration setting I can use to leave some space between them. I am using BW 70 WAD.
Second question is this column chart is based on a query with filter defined. It is drillable on analyzer. Can I make this chart drillable? I want to make it drill down to more detail characteristics. Can this be done and if so, how?

right click on the chart and edit.
and click on Refine-> then you will see all the options to setup.
-> click on Chart and there are two settings you can make the distance and overlap, that will do it for you.
Second Question: How do you want to drilldown a chart? The chart will be the screenshot of a query before the drill down, if you want the chart to display drilled downed results, then drilldown the query and save a view and attach the view to the chart.
But if you want to change the chart on specific selections, then you can have dropdown or radio button so on specific selection the chart will change as you change the selection.

How can I eliminate the pointless top bar, close up the spaces between bars that are wasting space and reduce the depth of the tabs so that I have the space I had before for the websites I am looking at?

I have updated to the latest form of Mozilla Firefox, and the top of the screen is altered so that it occupies far more space than it used to do, leaving far less space for what I want to look at. Why are there spaces between bars? Why are the tabs deeper than they used to be or need to be? How can I eliminate the pointless top bar which merely duplicates the information in the tab bar? Is there any way of simply restoring the previous arrangement?

Okay, I accept that this is just how it is, and there is nothing to be done about it, because no-one except me thinks that the icons and toolbars should be organised to take up minimum space in order to allocate maximum space to the page.
The crowning irony of all this is that, having updated to the latest Mozilla Firefox and consequently having this arrangement at the top of the page which I don't like, the middle of the page now comes up with its old message, 'You are not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade now.'
Computers are very odd. :(

WAD - Values above Bar Chart not displaying.

Hi All,
Please find the report that created in WAD using Chart.
From the above image, the numbers above the Bars is not displaying except the first Bar. I have checked the Series in WAD and all the settings are same Bar 1 and Bar 2. But still, the values are not displaying except 1st Bar. Please find the settings i made in Web Application designer.
And also some text is displaying "Missing text XXXX". Any settings i need to do for not appearing in the chart, pls suggest.
Do i need to do any other settings for displaying the value above the Bar Chart.

You will something like this: Version 7200.0.3.1

You can also check your patch level as follows:
- Start transaction SA38 (or SE38)

Dvt:barGraph with no space between bars

I have a dvt:barGraph that uses the BAR_VERT_STACK subType.
Is the a way to make the graph so that the vertical bars appear next to each other, eg, there is no space between 2 consecutive bars?

If your images are in jpg, you can open them with IE. Right click a file, choose Open With, choose IE.
If your files are in the .psd format, you will have to use PSE.
Regarding your first question...I'm a little confused as to if you mean borderless paper. Assuming you just want to print several images on one piece of photo paper with their edges touching, for ease of cutting I suppose, you can do that in PSE.
Create a new canvas the size of your photo paper and assign the same resolution to it as your images. Open each image and drag/drop it onto the blank page. Arrange images as desired by locating said image in the Layers Palette, make that layer active and use the Move Tool to reposition it. Change layers to move a different image and so on.

Adding Spacing Between Groups of Bars in a Bar Chart

I am using Word 2010. How can I add a subtitle to a grouping of bars (that each set of two bars has a descriptive title) as well as additional spacing between the groups of bars. In other words, if I have two sets of two bars in two separate "categories"
that in both categories the two sets of bars are labeled as "Trial 1" and "Trial 2", I want to add a "category" subtitle under each "Trial 1" and "Trial 2" bar grouping as well as additional spacing between
these two sets of two bars (that is greater than the spacing between the two sets of two bars for each category) to help make the distinction between the two categories of bars.

I have tested on my local environment and use some sample data to design the bar chart like below:

1. I assumed you have three kind of values in Category group1(HotelName:A,B,C) and you need to add some blank values for Categroup2(RoomType) to make this group display between A,B,C as the blank bar like the add the space between, Modify the query like
below:

Increase gap between bars in SSRS 2008 charts

Hi,
I'm converting from Crystal Reports 11 to SSRS 2008. In the reports I have bar charts. In CR11 I could set a gap interval between the bars so there would be some white space between each data element. How can I set a gap interval or create white space between each data bar in the charts. I have tried setting custom attributes on the bars and all it did was adjust the width of the bars. Thanks.

Based on your description, you want to increase a gap interval between the bars in the chart. Just as Jason Thomas said, you can change the value of PointWidth Property to increase or decrease the interval relatively. However if your chart also has Series Group not just Values and Column Groups, the different series chars at one scale on X-Axis will still be side by side without interval after changing the PointWidth Property, to work around this issue, the following detailed steps are for your reference:
1. Right-click the whole chart, and then select the Series Properties.
2. Switch to Border tab, you can set the line attributes of the border on the left side.
3. Select "Default" in the Line style drop-down list and "White" in the Line color drop-down list,
4. Set the value of Line width to '1pt'or '1.5pt'...
5. Click OK, and preview the chart you will see 2*'1pt' or 2*'1.5pt' interval between the chars at the same scale on X-Axis.

Why did you increase the space between bookmarks in the bookmark bar

It use to be smaller, so I could get more bookmarks on the browser bookmark bar. There is too much white space between them IMHO.

Bar Chart labels are occupying more than the needed space

I'm using a bar chart to display percentages. X axis is for 0 to 100% and Y-Axis is for categories. Labels on Y-Axis are aligned to the axis line, and it leaves some blank space on the left of the label, that could used by the chart area. Is it possible
to control this?

Do you mean the value of the label is long and will be cut and not display all the word？ I have set the properties of CustomInnerPlotPosition but not CustomPosition and can't see the issue.
You can using the expression in the label to make one long label to display

Space between navigation bar images?

I have 8 image in my navigation bar. When I had 7 (home, contacts, forums, etc) I had no space between them, but now that I have 8, a small space appeared between the images. How can I remove the space?

Instead of using a tag and using align=center to enclose the navigation bar, I would use a div, give it a width (total width all the buttons added together) and then use margin:0 auto; to center it on the page.
Without having access to the images it's difficult to bring the code into DW for testing, but make sure there is no 'whitespace' in the code between the button images.

How do you add space between the Series Name and the chart?

I'm trying to format a 3D pie chart and the series name is nearly unreadable depending on the angle. I would like to add some space between the series name and the chart.

On my charts, I just select the legends and drag them away from the chart. Hopefully this example helps:

WAD - How to Minimize the Space Between Drop-Down Box and Table

Hi all,
I am trying to display a query in 'Table' with Web Application Designer (WAD). First, I have placed the 'Drop-down box' web-item and 'Table' web-item below it in the Web Template. There is an half-inch of space between the 'Drop-down box' and the 'Table' when it displays on the browser. It doesn't look good with this gap.
How can I eliminate or minimize this gap, PLEASE ?.

 Thanks a lot for your help. Now it reduced the gap between the drop-down box and table to 3mm on browser.
But, there is no gap on web template. If we change some settings, we could still further reduce the gap while displaying it on browser.

WAD Display value in bar of a bar chart

Hello group,
I'm trying to display the values of every bar in a bar chart and can't fine the way to. I'm sure it's quite easy and can't find the solution. I've searched the forum and only found a link on SAP help which explains how to do it on individual bar but not all of them (Series --> Series1 --> Show Labels, same for Series2 until Series5 etc etc...).
I can't find any options for all Series. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Figured it out. It seems that this option is only available in Wizard mode, not when using the refine... Oh well...

Mapping between Icon component and Bar chart component

Hi experts,
I have added one world map, on which i have added 3 icon component in different area of world. At present i have added 3 different bar chart for each icon component. Now i want to take only one bar chart which sohws data according my selection of icon component.
can anyone help on this, plz?

Try the following:
Icon1 Source data = Unchecked 0, Checked 1
Icon1 Destination Cell $D$2
Icon2 Source data = Unchecked 0, Checked 2
Icon2 Destination Cell $D$3
Icon3 Source data = Unchecked 0, Checked 3
Icon3 Destination Cell $D$4
Have all the icons set to be unselected.
In cell $D$5 have the formula =max($D$2:$D$4). This cell now controls the Dynamic Visibility of the Bar Charts.
Barchart1, Dynamic Visibility Status = $D$5, Key = 1
Barchart2, Dynamic Visibility Status = $D$5, Key = 2
Barchart3, Dynamic Visibility Status = $D$5, Key = 3
I think that's what you are asking! Please keep in mind that you have to click the icons on and off to show/hide the charts.

Flex charts: How to increase space between columns?

Hello!
I just added columnWidthRatio: 1; to my mx|ColumnChart to fatten up my columns a little. But now, there's no space between the X axis and columns, and between the columns themselves, so how do I increase this space?
mx|ColumnChart { marginRight: "50"; paddingRight: "50"; } has no effect.

Somehow setting width="400" did not change anything. I also tried:
mx|ColumnChart { columnWidthRatio: 0.8; width: 1000; columnWidth: 1000; }
to no avail.
Anyhow, I've reduced my columnWidthRatio to 0.8 though as you suggested. It looks better, but I'd still like some more space between the columns.
