WAD: 'Update Data' command code

Hi,
I'd like to add a button to my web application which would call a script function to perform the 'update data' command on the web layout. Currently, this command is only available via right-click --> Data Entry Active --> Update Data within the layout.
Has anyone done this? I ultimately like to enable the user to update the data in the layout (calculations included) after making a change simply by clicking Enter. Is this possible?

Thanks for the suggestion Priya. Unfortunately the SAVE_DATA command will not work in my scenario. In this case, we do not want to actually write data back to the cube. We only want to refresh the data in the planning layout to see how totals and other calculated fields will be impacted.
I believe REFRESH_DATA will do this.
It appears to be working, unfortunately my solution (A refresh button with the flag marked to execute on Enter) has created another problem. I have several long planning layouts which require the user to scroll to the right to enter data for future years. If the user hits Enter to refresh the data, the screen refreshes back to the upper-left corner of the screen. In fact, it refreshes to the exact coordinates of the refresh button which was executed by typing Enter. Ideally, I would like the screen to refresh to the last data entry location, as the scrolling gets very frustrating.
Have you (or anyone) seen this problem and can you provide a recommendation to solve it?

Execute Command "Update Data" of dynamic graphic xls with Java?

hi, i want to write datas in tthe xls sheet, i have in other sheet from same file xls a dynamic graphic, and i want to update de graphic with the new datas writed, how can to execute the command "Update Data" in the dynamic graphi sheet??

You missed a space in the string after your WHERE clause.
put an extra space after the 'WHERE' in your execute immediate statement.

How to update date in a table from another database

Hello,
I am trying to code a way to Update my Testing database from another database. In the coding below the database that has the updated data ends in Restore.
Use ClientDB_MASTER_Restore
Truncate Table ClientDB_MASTER_Testing.dbo.Activity_Tracking_AZ

SELECT * INTO ClientDB_Master_Testing.dbo.Activity_Tracking_AZ
FROM Activity_Tracking_AZ

I know with this Technique the table must be truncated if not deleted first. There is probably a better way to do this which I'm very open to. I'm also looking for coding that will roll back any changes made should an error occur.

If you find it boring to type the column lists, just find the table in Object Explorer, and drag the columns node to where you want the column list.
You need the SET IDENTITY_INSERT command if the table has an IDENTITY column.
By wrapping the code in a transaction, you are not left with an empty table if the INSERT fails. The command SET XACT_ABORT ON makes sure that the batch is aborted and rolled back in case of an error.

Background job not updating data for some steps of program

We have created a custom program and submitting the standard program RPRCCC_READ_KR1025
which is used for conversion of AMEX credit card files.
Since this program can update data for 1 company id at a time,we have created a background job
for that program with 10 steps and 10 variants of data related to 10 different company codes.
when this job is executed it is not updating data for all the 10 files , sometimes it updates 5,7,etc...
If we execute the other files which didnt update in job manually they are getting updated.
All the files executed with that program can be seen in PRTA transaction.

Edit: Solved.
Since the standard program updates the database every time with commit work
there should be some time until the next database update,so we can use wait command
after the submit statement which will do the trick.

Updating data from a text file in DW is it possible ?

Hello,
I would like to know if there is a way to update
info that I originally input into DW from a .txt file
using the insert tabular data command.
If anyone know if this is possible, I'd really appreciate
knowing this. I don't mean via means of using php, or anything like
this.
I am talking about updating info in cells on a local
computer.
So for example, a .txt file gets updated, and in turn, DW
will auto-update the table content it sees in the updated .txt
file, or other type of data file.

It really depends on how you've saved the data. If you have a simple text file with x data in one column and y data in another, then you can use the code below. It's just a Read From Spreadsheet File, and Index Array, and Bundle function. Modify as needed for your actual data. If you get stuck, post a small example of your data file.

With 10.4.x this feature doesn't exists.

Move the newly created application into the folder:

The contents of the header will be replaced by the current date/time

As I am unable to activate the dialog allowing us to adjust the date whe it is inserted the official way, I simply paste the current date-time into the header.
Just click tnto the header of the current page. It will be automatically reported into other pages's header.

I've created table from view as the following command:
Create table table_new as select * from View_Old
I can insert/update data into table_new by command line.
But I can not Insert/update data of table_new by SI Oject Browser tool or Oracle SQL Developer tool .(read only)
Anybody tell me, what's happend? cause?

the admin user and password,server info , port and ldap_base for admin.
I have uid and password for regular user, I am trying find the ldap_base for regular user, which may be different from adminuser.

Vendor ID, Last Update Date, Invoice Details - Query

For each Supplier, we would like to know the vendor ID, vendor number, vendor name, vendor site code, Created Date, Last Update Date, last invoice date, last payment date, total number of invoices and total $ amount of invoices for each supplier.
1) How do i find the last payment date and supplier catagory?
2) As i have to use sum(invoice_amount), count(invoice_amount), max(payment_date) which point to 3 different tables, i am not sure how to use "group by" based on the Vendor_id alone while i select lot of fields from different table. Could you please help me with this?

1) You can get last_payment_date by joining vendor_id to ap_invoices_all and the joining invoice_id with ap_invoice_payments_all to get the max accounting_date (i.e. last payment date)
2) You are partially right. Invoice_amount and invoice_count are from the same table so you have to join 2 tables. Best way is to do a select in the select.
e.g SELECT   pv.vendor_name, COUNT (1), SUM (invoice_amount), pv.vendor_id,
         (SELECT MAX (aipa.accounting_date)

How to trigger pop-up window in report and update data base from report

Hi All,
I have a requirement, in a report output list to trigger a pop up window with some rejection codes corresponding to each sales order when i select from the output list. Also i need to update data base by selecting one of the rejection code in the pop-up window list for that sales order. Can any one please let me know how to achive this.
Also, i have check boxes for each record in the output list. Also, i have added one more check box as "Select All'. When select 'Sleect All' check box , all check boxes need to be checked, how to achieve this. PLease let me know.

Need to automatically display update date and user in update form field

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me with this... I am using dreamweaver cs4 and php/mysql. I have a database table that will be updated by 1-5 different people at random times. I have everything set up and working, as far as the update function, delete function, add new, etc. In my update form the last two fields are Last Updated and Last Updated By. There are fields in the table called 'last_updated' (formatted in PHPmyadmin as timestamp) and 'last_updated_by'. But how do I get them to update on their own? Right now it is showing the first entry into the field which I did in the PHPmyadmin table, but it is not updating automatically. It would be a nice field to have so that we know who has worked on the table and when it was last updated, without the user manually typing that in, which I am sure they would forget to do. By the way, users will login to this with a username and password before editing the records.
This is the code for the last row in the update form with those two fields. It is pulling the fields from the database table, but they do not update automatically...

Sort all the Records in Data manager based on Update Date

How to sort the reocrds in Data Manager based on Date or something ?
And also I have three records for a same customer in ( for three different company codes ) and when I search for this customer with the Customer number then it is showing three records , but when I search with Update Date then no records are fetched ...what is the reason ?

If you make a field as type "Time Stamp" in your data model using the MDM Console, make sure that the option Sort Index is set to Normal. If this is the case, whenever a record is updated in the repository, the date will be updated. If the sort index is normal, then MDM will allow you to sort the records based on the date and time by which they were updated. You can do this by finding your time stamp field in the MDM data manager and clicking on it. If there is an up and down arrow next to the name of your field, it means it can be sorted. Also, to answer your other question, you can definitely search based on date. Use the Free-Form Search on the left hand side of the data manager at the bottom of the screen. Simply select a date, and it will show you all the records updated on that date.

Error while updating Date Field on Process Form.

Hi,
I am using java code to pre-pop date on the process form.First I used a java code whic took java.sql.date as input and returned the same java.sql.date.But it gave an error that:java.lang.String cannot be converted to java.sql.date.......
So I changed the java code and now it takes string as input and returns java.sql.date. This code works fine for Pre-pop adapter and the date is populated on the process form.
But when i use the same code in a Process Task adapter to update the date, then it gives the following error:

Error while updating data virtual provider data to targets

Hi,
We are getting error while trying to update data from virtual cube based on a function module in 2004s.
It seems that it is complaning about the mapping of 0recordmode to the targets. has anybody faced this problem? We are in SP10

I am sorry its not a cube but a direct update ODS to a basic ODS but both belongs to BCS. I have generated the export datasource multiple times but still no use.
The source ODS name (direct update from BCS) is called ZBCS_01Z and the target is called Z_AJ_ODS.
When I run the load I get "Job Terminated is source system" with message type X.
Here is some of parts of the dump:
Information on where terminated
    Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLUCI1" - in
     "MAP_FIELDNAME_BW_2_SEM".
    The main program was "SBIE0001 ".
    In the source code you have the termination point in line 245
    of the (Include) program "LUCI1F02".
    The program "SAPLUCI1" was started as a background job.
