WAE 512 restore configuration after system reinstallation

Hi
I had to reinstall whose system on one WAE. It WAS working as core and Edge. I could not save configuration directly from this WAE. It is only stored in CM. Now i'm trying to register this WAE back in CM to restore whole configuration but I have this message:
WAE-4(config)#cms enable
Registering WAAS Application Engine...
Sending  device registration request to Central Manager with address 10.1.1.1
Registration record for this device already exists or other nodes share the following information with this node: Mac 00:14:5e:95:da:5d already used by device WAE-4(CeConfig_928333);
register: Registration failed(512).
cms: unable to register node
FAILED to enable management services
I suppose that it would work after force deregistration or delete this WAE from CM. But in this way I would lost whole configuration.
Is it some way to add this WAE after system reinstallation and restore its configuration ?
thanks you in advance
James

Hi James,
There is indeed a way to register this WAE back to the CM after re-install.
The procedure to do so is described under the following link: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v431/configuration/guide/maint.html#wp1105458

  • USB drive no longer works after system reinstallation

Recently I reinstalled the system (after 1 year of no uptades). One of my USB disks (strictly speaking it is a 2.5" disk in a USB enclosure) stopped to work. When I connect the USB cable the drive icon doesn't appear on the desktop. I attach the dmesg messages:

In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
    dmesg | tail or so.
The drive is OK. I was able to use it on other computers, reiserfsck showed no errors. Also my computer is OK, and I was able to mount the drive using some old arch linux cd.
The system is 64-bit, I use the default kernel (3.9.2-1-ARCH x86_64). I wonder, what could be missing in my configuration?
I'm able to use other USB pendrives, hard disks, mouse with no problems

For comparison, I attach dmesg log from another computer, which sees the drive normally:

  • Help needed - Can't access OneKey Recovery restoration option after system reboot,

    Hi,
I run OneKey Recovery, after I choose "recovery", and system reboot.....system automatically log in Windows 7 again, rather than access OneKey Recovery restoration option.
I am using G570 and  OneKey Recovery version is 7. this issue never happened before, it always reboot to OneKey Recovery restoration before....please help. Thanks

You shouldn't need Command + R since the Option key will present you with the Recovery boot volume. Seems something is amiss there, I'm willing to bet you may have been using a wireless keyboard.

  • Restoring songs after system crash.  Help?

I recently had to re-image my computer which caused me to lose all of my files. When I reconnected my iPod, after replacing the iTunes software, I got a message saying that I couldn't use this iPod unless I restored the disk. This means that I would also lose all of the songs on my iPod. Is there any way of getting around this?
    Dell Inspiron 9300   Windows XP
    Dell Inspiron 9300   Windows XP

First of all try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

  • Restore DB2 after System Crash .No backup available

    Hi Everyone,
We have a severe problem at this moment, please let me know any suggestion for this
    Issue :
The operating system have crashed on the application server, and reboots itself all the trails to restore have failed, no backup of System / Database / Snapshots of the system available
    Intial Symptomps :
The application Server was rebooting itself
    Backup :
No Backup available ( System / SAP )
    Steps Taken:
we have finally restored the data / Drive snapshots and have attached this to a new system ( Windows 2008 R2 standard Datacenter ) , at this moment we have all the datafiles/ Logs retrived,
Is there any solution to build a system using this raw data ?
Is it possible to create a backup from the node directories ?
Is it possible to create a new system with samebuild and attach thedata file and process further to retrieve the old system
Can anyone  help to describe any other possible option and share your thoughts
    Regards
    Tim

Thanks Everyone for your Quick Inputs, and sorry for delayed response,
well the System is Production System, we finally restored the system by fixing the root Volume,
However when we have contacted SAP, SAP have suggested to follow the below strategy
    Create a Blank DB,
    Use db2relocatedb command
Move the Log Files and Data Files
Now from this Database, Create a Backup
Restore the Backup on a SAP instance,
The below approch is also tried parallely ,
System Copy from Development is done on a new box
important thing is we need to maintain the same drive / Diriectory structure, and later the replace the Log Files and Data Files ( Drives / Directories ) with the Production Data, in this approach we didnt maintain the structure so the dispatcher kept going down , however I didnt give a second try as my root volume was fixed, will try and update you later..
    Cheerz

  • After system restore: why no more write permission with TM on TC?

    Hi.
Last week I did a little mistake on my Macintosh HD by assigning user rights to all subfolders. I recognized my failure - but after confirming the warning advice...
After that procedure (with a lot of failure advices) the system did not run any more. No problem - I'm using the 1TB time capsule and do have backups from the same day. So I restored my hole system by using the boot dvd and so on. Everything works fine so far.
    BUT:
2 days later I recognized, that TM doesn't work since I restored my system. When I opened the TM configuration, it says that I need to asign a backup volume. OK - so I tried to asign the data file from the TC that I used before. I could see and confirm the file, but then there comes the advice (analogous):
You don't have permission to write an that external network device.
Log in as other user or contact your network administrator.
    I'M THE ADMIN!
I tried all the hints I found in the web: repair the sparesbundle, reset TC, repair permissions in HD, create an new user with admin permissions,...
    Nothing helps.
Only after I installed BatCHmod, chose the "old" data-file and marking the option "unlocking", TM works as before. The next backup needs a lot of time, because it backups the hole HD.
Why did TM not work after the backup? How could it happen that there are major permission problems after using original Apple hard- and software?
Why do I need a app from the web to run my system??
    Thanks so far,

  • 2nd drive unformatted and not restored after attempting restore from a system image

I created a system image, which included drive C (where Windows is installed) and drive G (where some installed Windows programs are located).  I then ran into a situation where I wanted to restore from the system image.  With my first attempt,
this process took several days.  When I returned home from work, my computer had booted up into Windows -- drive C had successfully been restored.  I soon found out though that drive G was in an unformatted state.
Now, given the time it took for each drive to restore and the sizes of data for each drive (160gb for C and 1000gb for G), it seemed odd to me that the entire process had completed already, given the time that had passed and the progress indicated for drive
G in the status bar, in the morning before I went to work.  It is entirely possible that one of my cats may have jumped on my desk and somehow cancelled the operation.
    My questions are:
    1. if the restore is cancelled while the 2nd disk is being restored, will the 1st disk (C) still be successfully restored?
    2. why does this process take so long?
    3. if there is some other error, is it displayed?  Does system restore automatically reboot after completion/cancellation?  Is there an error file created somewhere if there was an error, or perhaps something mentioned in a log file?  If so,
    where?
    4. has anyone encountered a similar issue before and can provide any insight?
    5. anything else I'm missing?
I'm attempting to restore a second time, and it is not even halfway through drive C, so it might not be until the end of the week before the entire process completes.  To be safe, especially from nosey cats, I disabled the mouse and keyboard so no input
can interrupt and accidentally cancel the process.
    thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
For the first problem, if the restore is cancelled while the 2nd disk is being restored, the 1st disk (C) can be successfully restored.
For the second problem, I think it is normal to take a long time to finish the process, it is depend on the size of the date.
For the third problem, you may check the setup log files to find the clue of the cause.

  • Help with Photoshop Elements 10 after system restore

Hi I need some help and guidance. I have successfully installed my Photoshop Elements 10 twice now; once on my own; and following a MS Vista System Restore; with the help of Adobe support . I then worked on it for a day and all was well.
But unbeknown to me at the time, I had a MS System corruption that was causing Boot issues resulting in a forced Restore of my system and both Restores caused the Photoshop elements desk-top shortcut to disappear and a subsequent PSE10 re-install to fail with the dreaded Data7 , and "Application Shared Technologies" and rollback of Orgainizer and Editor etc etc.
I now realise that the two events were connected and the Adobe Support Person helped me get PSE10 up and running but it involved a lot of file permission changes etc, which lost me in the process, which was done remotely. PS Great customer support!!
After sorting out my MS Vista problem due to "Corrupt System" files, I now need to get my PSE10 up and running again; but how?
    Regards John

Have you tried uninstalling and installing again?
    thanks.

  • After system restore i reinstalled firefox, how to get back bookmarks etc with old firefox data?

After system restore the only thing i have is old firefox data on desktop if all bookmarks, passwords are recovered it will be great help.
    P.S
i reinstall firefox from drive other than c ,that was in downloaded form.
    Thanks

The "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop has been created as the consequence of resetting Firefox.
Doing a Session Restore may have reverted the profiles.ini file to a previous version that hasn't registered the new profile folder that a reset had created, so you may need to check for this.
    * C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.
If you have a profile folder that is more recent than the "Old Firefox Data" on the desktop then you can use edit the profiles.ini file and change the path of the currently default profile to the name of the profile folder as you find in Document and Settings.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
It is always best to be cautious with using System Restore as this can cause some file to be replaced with older copies, i.e. your Firefox installation and profile folder can get inconsistent and you may have to reinstall Firefox as well.

you may need to check the transfer structures,
right click infosource and 'change', click 'comm.structure'/expand,
click 'transfer', move the 0BASE_UOM from left to right side,
or if you wont use the comm structure anymore, you can right click infosource and 'delete comm structure'

    Hello all,
We are facing problem in restoring the SAP XI System, after taking backup of the system the java instances in SAP XI System are not starting again. ABAP connections are fine.
Can anyone provide suggestions/solutions in order to restore the XI System back.

System Component: SAP NetWeaver 2004s, PI 7.0
Operating System: SunOS 5.9, SunOS 5.10
    Database: ORACLE 9.2.0.
    Regards,

I would correct Oracle version is 10.2.0
I would also like to reframe my problem.
XI server(both abap and Web) was working fine. Every weekend we take full backup(file system+DB)(UFS) of server. After taking backup server got up and we were able to login through abap but java web page was not openning. We did some troubleshooting it didn't work and finaly we restored the backup and somehow it worked. Next week after backup again same problem arose. We again restored latest backup but this time problem still exists.

  • Windows could not finish configuring the system error after sysprep /generalize

    Hi
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate RTM off from technet and as always I do make use of WIM images on having them deployed to my home PC's
I was able to have it installed on a clean machine and once the wizard appeared i immediately entered Audit mode (shift+ctrl+f3) and the usual I loaded all of the software i need to pre-install after I was done I Immediately loaded sysprep and had it with the generalized option
now this is where the problem begins....... after it restarts during the "Setup is starting Services" screen it gives me a message box error saying "Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt resume configuration, restart the computer" and once I press ok it jsut restarts and gives the same error again.
This does not happen when i dont select the generalize option in sysprep.
Anyone who had the same issues?

I now have the ACTUAL SOLUTION to this problem.  This solution will actually tell you exactly what registry key is causing your sysprep to fail, so then you don't have to slowly install
every program until you find the problem -- especially since this didn't work for me because my problem has been intermittent.
This issue is caused by certain registry keys that are either:
    a) Larger than 8kb
    b) Set with incorrect permissions
    c) Corrupt in some way
For me, the problem was intermittent (same registry key would sometimes cause the issue and sometimes not - must be corrupt sometimes) so it was impossible to tell what program was doing it.  Luckily, there is a log you can look at that will tell you
exactly what registry key is erroring out.  Here are the steps for getting the log you need to see:
When you see the error message, do the following:
1.) Push Shift+F10 to get to a command prompt
    2.) Navigate to C:\windows\Panther
3.) Find the Setup.etl file and find a way to copy this file off of the system (I copied it to the D:\ partition and used Ghost to gather that partition and get the file off)
4.) Copy the setup.etl file from the corrupted system to another computer that has Windows 7.  Put it on the root of C:\ for easiest access.
5.) Open a Command Prompt on the Windows 7 computer.
6.) Navigate to the root of C:\ (or wherever you saved the file)
    7.) Type "tracerpt setup.etl -o logfile.csv"
8.) Close the command prompt and open up logfile.csv in your text editor of choice.
9.) Look through the log file (towards the end probably) for messages that say "Failed to process reg key or one of it's decendants"  For me, the exact eror looked like this: "Failed to process reg key or one of its descendants: [\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET
Security\CurrentVersion\Plugins\01000200\Profiles\@My profile]"  If you search for "reg key" or "failed to process" you should find the failure.
10.) Remove this software from your image, or find out how to get the registry key that is failing to work properly.
After this, you should be able to properly identify any problem keys and remove/workaround them on your image.
I see this post is about a year old at this point, but after searching the internet for weeks, I had high hopes for this solution. It seemed to go well, but the logfile.csv doesn't have the word "fail" in it anywhere...no "reg key", nothing. Did a sysprep
install with an unattend.xml answer file that seems to be working properly, but hangs at "Setup is starting services." forever.
At this point, I'm pretty convinced that the problem is a service or reg key error from one of the apps I installed during audit mode, but I can't tell which app/service is causing the problem.
Are there any other methods for viewing failed services or registry errors that would cause the sysprep install process to hang at "Setup is starting services."?
Willing to post logfile.csv from the "tracerpt setup.etl -o logfile.csv" command, or other log files such as setupact.log, etc. Nothing popped out at me.
For now I think I'll start making multiple .wim files with only certain software installed to try to discover which application is the culprit...just wish there was an easier way.
