WAE-7341-K9 wrong code type have ACNS need WAAS

Hello,
We ordered two WAE-7341-K9 devices with application acceleration code but received content engine code.  Is it possible to just install the oe7341-4.1.7.11 code or do we need to send them back to the vendor and get new devices with the correct code?

Hello,
I was able to switch code products using the recovery CD-ROM.
Some things I learned.
It took about an hour then I had to reconfigure them and add them back to CM; so about 90 minutes for each device.  While you can back up the config and reinstall, I didn't bother as my devices weren't in production yet and only had some basic IP configuratuion.
I had two critical alarms after the code install.  One was for a missing license and one was for a RAID issue.  I was able to correct the license issue from CM.
Select the device then Admin\License Management and tick the ‘Transport’ (or whichever type your using) box then click the submit button.
The RAID alarm I didn’t fix myself.  Depending on the device model, the process of using the recovery CD-ROM involves rebuilding the RAID array.  The install process continues while the RAID array rebuilds in the back ground, at least that’s how I think it works as the documentation wasn't clear on that point.  When I left for the day the RAID alarm was still showing on the CM.  The next day there weren’t any alarms.  I was able to find a mention is some other documentation the the RAID rebuild process can take several hours.
Thanks again for your help.

    I shoot with a Canon 7D, have Windows 7 installed on my computer, Adobe CS4 (Bridge & Photoshop). I'm trying to open the CR2 files in Bridge to adjust them before I open them up in Photoshop, but it's giving me an error code saying it's the wrong file type. I downloaded the latest updates for Adobe Raw as well as the DNG converter, however I don't want to have to convert to DNG before opening in Bridge. Please let me know what I can do to open the CR2 files directly in Bridge CS4, thank you!

    Yes, the store didn't properly activate the card. If the store is nearly then you could try going back and asking them to do so, if it isn't (or if they can't/won't help) then try contacting iTunes Support (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    I'm afraid the only thing you can do is the obvious thing, change your password.

    The # is not my # to send my security code to. You have the wrong number on file & I need access to my account. How do I get you to input the right number or can I edit my profile in some way and change the telephone number so you can either issue a new security code, or determine what my existing code is. I don't seem to have a 7 digit number on file anywhere.
    Thanks,
    George Sedlack

    Thanks again Tyler. The problem comes up when I try to log into Outlook. Microsoft asks to send my security code to a phone number which is not mine and I cannot find a way to change the number. Without an updated or recovery of my existing code, I am always mumbling around the questions and just keep retrying to log on until I can. Any thoughts?

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
    Hi,
    This sounds like an issue with your FTP server timing out the connection.  You may want to increase the timeout value on the FTP server, or you can enable FTP services on the WAE itself and upload to it.
    On the CLI of the 7341 enter the config command inetd enable ftp.
    Then from your PC command prompt FTP into the WAE with the admin account and put the file.
    Example:
    C:\>ftp 14.110.3.19
    Connected to 14.110.3.19.
    darkcoder wrote:...  Anyway after those changes I was able to mount windoze floppies as a normal user with # mount /mnt/fl
    What about the ext3 floppies? I have no problem with vfat ones, I can mount them as you mention but when I try to mount ext3 floppies as a regular user I get:
    [florin@guns /mnt]$ mount /mnt/floppy
    mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/fd0,
           or too many mounted file systems
    [florin@guns ~]$ mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
    mount: only root can do that
    [florin@guns ~]$ mount -t ext3 /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
    mount: only root can do that
    I can mount an ext3 floppy as root:
    [root@guns /mnt]# mount /mnt/floppy
    mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/fd0,
           or too many mounted file systems
    [root@guns /mnt]# mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
    [root@guns /mnt]# cd floppy/
    [root@guns /mnt/floppy]# ls
    lost+found  test
    What am I missing here? What should I do to be able to mount ext3 floppies as a regular user too?
    Looking through the documentation, and googling was not helpful. Am I looking at an
    iropt bug?
    The "wrong IR type" message is an internal compiler error. Try getting the all the current patches for the Studio compilers and see if that fixes the problem.
    Regarding your command line:
    Most of the options appear two or three times. You should look into cleaning up the option list.
    The -xchip and -xcache options are questionable. If you don't have a particular reason for needing them, remove these options. In the best case they might provide a small performance boost. In the worst case, they will reduce performance significantly.
    The -features option has a long list. Most of them are the default and cannot be disabled anyway.
    -features=except,rtti,export,tmplife fall into that category.
    -features=anachronisms is questionable. It allows code that was considered improper in 1991.
    -instances=global is the default
    -xalias_level=compatible makes strong claims about the program, allowing the optimizer to make simplifications that are not in general valid. (See the C++ Users Guide for details.) If any of those claims are not true, the program can fail in mysterious ways.
  • Wrong Partner Type in IDoc with message type REMADV
    Dear all,
       We have created 2 IDocs, one for outbound (first in one company code) and one for inbound (receiving company code) with transaction F110 (message type REMADV, Idoc basic type PEXR2001). However, for the first outbound IDoc we have created, we have the wrong Partner type (we would like it to get type KU (customer)) LS (Logic system).
    Does anyone know how to change the partner type from the Idoc generationg?
    Many thanks,
    Ronny
    Hi,
    Welcome to SDN.
    Please delete the exisiting outbound partner profile (WE20) for message type REMADV which under partner type LS (Logical System) and setup new outbound partner profile for partner type KU (Customer).
  • Help for wae 7341 device
    Hi,
    For the first time I am deploting WAE deviece in DC center. Since this is a new technology for me. Can some bosy help me  in doing physical connectivity. I am getting confused in WAN in /out interface. Apart from this I want to know how to do basisc level configuration .Can you please help me out in this regards?I
    my setup is like one core rtr,one core switch and onr layer2 switch in betwwen core rtr & core switch.
    Regards,
    APN
    Your account team could be the first place you turn, as they can get someone onsite if needed to provide in-person assistance.  We also have an internal helpdesk to help Partners with new deployments and trial deployments.  And there is Cisco TAC should you encounter problems during the deployment.  All of these resources are staffed with people trained and experienced in WAAS.
    WAAS provides multiple methods of deployment and interception, including (but not limited to) WCCP and Inline.  Inline places the WAE in the path of the packets. WCCP places the WAE out of path of the packets and requires that the router/switch be configured to intercept packets and redirect them to the WAE.
    If the WAE comes equipped with inline card, an inline group consists of a pair of interfaces marked LAN and WAN.  Connect LAN to the cable connecting to the LAN-side switch/router, and connect WAN to the cable connecting to the WAN-side switch/router.  The types of cabling you use, duplex and speed settings on the switches and routers, and placement of the WAE within the network are important.
    However, Inline may not be the preferred method for deploying in your datacenter.
    If the WAE does not come equipped with an inline card, then the Gigabit interfaces are used to connect to a router/switch, and packets must be redirected to that WAE on that interface.  A single interface may be used, or the interfaces may be grouped into a port-channel or standby interface configuration.  Redirection from the router/switch is generally accomplished by configuring WCCP on the router/switch and on the WAE.  Packets are intercepted at the router on one or more interfaces, and redirected to the WAE.  The WAE processes them, performing appropriate optimizations, and egresses them back to the router/switch which forwards them to the destination.
    Decide on the interception method.  Read the appropriate sections in the documentation and decide how best to connect the WAE and configure interception, based on your datacenter's unique requirements.  Probably the fastest way to get started would be to read the quick-start guide, and use the CLI-based setup tool.
  • WAE 7341 conversion
    Does anyone know if it's possible to convert a WAE 7341 into a generic server to run any type of OS on it?
    Hi Brad,
    You cannot use this HW box to install any other OS other than Cisco WAAS, we have the Bios customized and it won't allow any other OS to be loaded on it.
