    Hi,
All postings which are originated from other than CO module ( i.e from interface, FI etc ), are called External postings in CO.
Whereas internal postings means posting which happen within CO module, example Assessment, Distribution etc within a company code.

  • External portal capturing internal portal URL in Log and trace file

    Hi,
We are facing one issue in portal like we have two portals for internal (Intranet) and external (Internet) users.
Once users logged in the application and try to get the information about mylink from the external portal link (internet) they should not get any information about the internal portal.
But in log and trace file we can see the external portal link capturing the internal portal URL.
We need to find, from where system capturing the internal portal URL.
    Thanks.

The tkproffed trace file is in seconds.
"set timing" is in hh:mi:ss.uu format. So 00:00:01.01 is 1.01 seconds.
You have to remember that most of these measurements are rounded. While your trace file says it contains one second of trace data, you know it's more.
One excellent resource for trace files is "Optimizing Oracle Performance" by Cary Millsap & Jeff Holt. (http://www.amazon.com/Optimizing-Oracle-Performance-Cary-Millsap/dp/059600527X ) I thought I knew trace files before, but this book brings your knowledge to a whole new level.
There is also an excellent WP by Cary Millsap ( http://method-r.com/downloads/doc_details/10-for-developers-making-friends-with-the-oracle-database-cary-millsap ) that gives you some insight.

  • Separating external portal from internal portal?

We like to implement an internal and external facing portal.
Do we have to seperate these portals or not?  Are strong security measures enough?
If seperating is the best, what are the reasons for implementing separate portals for external / internal usage?
    Kind Regards

You can use single portal system for both Ext and Int Portal.
Portal helps you to seperate Portal Objects, KMC Objects, Content Administrators, System Administrators, User Administrators by means of delegated administration concepts.
Also, you can differentiate portal theme and apps used for both portals.
But if you are very very sensitive in security , you can seperate them but still manage them from one by means of Federated Portal concept.

  • Sponsor portal and internal users

    Hi
I have configured on our ISE to use AD-users as sponsors. And this works perfect.
but I'm also trying to configure an internal user, for the sponsor portal.
I Have configured it almost the same way so i don't understand why the ISE is reporting :
Sponsor authentication has failed : Sponsorgroup not found for user
My identity store is a sequence for AD and internal users, and i can see from the log that it looks in the right place :
    Identity Store:
    Internal Users
My condition is that the internal user, should be a member of identity group : sponsorAllAccount
    my identity group :
    Identity Group:
    SponsorAllAccount
and then get a created sponsor group, this sponsor grop that is allocated to the condition, works fine for det AD-users.
    Evaluating Identity Policy
    5435 Sponsor authentication has failed
any suggestions of why ?    I'm now running the lastes 1.1.1 version.

    Hi  Tarik
    thanks for the answer.
I'm certain that the user does not exist in the AD domain,  anyhow, then my log would tell me that the authentication failed because of wrong password !?
I can se from the log that the ISE is doing lookup in the internal database.
this is output from he logging :
    Identity Store:
    Internal Users
I have ,made a identity store sequence with both AD and internal users.

  • How to add similar systems in SMSY: BI Portal and NW Portal?

    Hi All
I am trying to add our BI Portal in transaction SMSY and assign it in our Solution Landscape, however I am having a few issues. Basically we also have a NW Portal 7 in out landscape aswell, and I cannot seem to add 2 Netweaver Portals. So here is where I am stuck:
Firstly the BI Portal (BBP) does appear in the Systems section in SMSY and I have configured the SLD Settings in the Visual Administrator.  In Systems the BI Portal is listed as EP Core, Enterprise Portal, Search and Classif. (TREX), so when I go into: SYSTEM GROUPS AND LOGICAL COMPONENTS > SAP NETWEAVER > Enterprise Portal, I already have one logical component set to SAP NETWEAVER PORTAL SERVER (the NW Portal 7 (EPP)).
So , what I want to do is add another portal component (the BI Portal) and assign the various Dev, QA and PRD Systems and finally include it in the Solution Landscapes.
Does this make any sense to anyone and if it does can you let me know if I am doing this correctly or have I missed something vital.
    Thanks in advance
    Phil
PS: Will always award point for helpfull answers.

    Hi Phil,
The Logical Component "SAP Netweaver Portal Server" is a supplied reference and should not be used.
You should create your own logical component based on a copy, typically identifying it in the customer name space by prefixing a Z_ to the logocal component name, into which you would populate the server/client info for the vaious system types.
Because the logical component "SAP Netweaver Portal Server" already exists, you cannot create it again.
This is why you are getting this error.

  • Pavilion dv7-4285dx: cannot BOOT/POST to external VGA and internal LCD is dead (cracked)

I have cracked the screen of my HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx so badly that I cannot read anything on it. I am trying to boot to an external monitor on VGA port, but never get a signal.
I have tried the monitor switching key, but that doesn't do anything. I have tried disconnecting the internal LCD from the motherboard - no different. I have tried a CMOS reset by removing the laptop battery, removing CMOS battery, disconnecting power supply and holding power button down for >1 minute, then restarting with just external LCD attached, but STILL no video on VGA port.
The video adapter is okay, as it boots to Windows and then I have video on the external monitor.
Although it's good that I can use the ext. monitor once Windows boots, I need to have video at boot time to make changes to BIOS.
Does anyone have another suggestion of how I can get the BIOS to detect and display to external VGA at boot time?

  • 2 external monitors and internal Screen on T430S and Mini Dock Plus

    Hi Community,
I just got my new T430S and the MiniDock Plus. On the website I've ordered the combination I had the impression that I could use two external screens and the internal screen at once.
Unfortunately I don't manage to find the right settings to achieve that the internal screen is switched on.
I wonder if its just a question of settings or is it simply not possible to extend the screen over three screens.
Any help or hint  is greatly appreciated,
    Andreas

Intel 3000 doesn't support 3 independent LCD in this manner. You would need something USB2DVI or USB2VGA adapter to get the third LCD.

  • Two External Displays and Internal Display Over Different Connections

    Hi there.
I'm going to be purchasing a rMBP in the very, very near future. However, I am unclear about how external displays work with this. My current display setup at work is two basic 1080p monitors that can be run over DVI, VGA or HDMI. I'd like to keep using these when I start using the rMBP but also gain the advantage of a third screen by using the internal display at the same time (so much space for activities!).
One of the thunderbolt ports will need to be used for an Ethernet connection (there is no wireless here), so this leaves the setup needing to be one monitor run via Thunderbolt -> DVI and the other monitor run via HDMI.
The internet in general isn't being entirely helpful with this. I'm looking for a clear answer of whether the rMBP will run the internal display and the two external displays using this setup under OS X. Some seem to believe that it won't work using different connection types, for example.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello dljfield,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you'd like to use multiple external displays with a MacBook Pro with Retina display, then please take a look at the information outlined below. A 15" MacBook Pro mid-2014 can support up to two external displays using different outputs.

  • What is the difference between CE Portal and normal Portal

Can someone tell me the difference between CE Portal & Normal Portal. I mean, I keep hearing that SAP EP 7.2 is CE portal whereas SAP EP 7.3 is not CE portal.
Can I assume that CE (Composite environment) is a failure model so SAP switched back to Non-CE environment ? Your inputs please.

    Hello,
SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 and 7.2 have been introduced as a lean "side-car" approach to complement the SAP NetWeaver standard release. Main reason was to provide composition tools and services based on a enhanced Java technology stack (back the time).
The official successor of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (or any of the enhancements packages) has been SAP NetWeaver 7.3 (where we brougth various tools together back into one SAP NetWeaver codeline.) Nowadays we recommend the latest release: SAP NetWeaver 7.4 including the Enterprise Portal 7.4.
Customers & Partners who did not want to install the full SAP NetWeaver Java stack had the chance to only go with the Composition Environment - that contained selected portal core services. These are mainly used for application integration / launching scenarios and not supportin full enterprise portal (intranet / extranet) scenarios - that's why there is no KM included.
Hope this helps to get a better understanding.
    Regards,
    Thomas

  • Where/how to troubleshoot external gateway and internal connection brokers etc.??????

We have gateway.domain.org as our external/internal gateway server.
It goes from gateway.domain.org to rdbroker.domain.local, rdbroker is the DNS address for two connection broker servers.
After this it should set up the connection and create a remote desktop to one of the RDS host servers in the RDS host farm.
Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't -- for different user accounts and different computers.
    How to troubleshoot this??
We know the firewall rules for DMZ etc. etc. are properly configured because everything IS observed to work, just not all the time consistently. We get errors about cannot contact the computer, cannot establish remote desktop connection...
    Thank you, Tom

    Hi Tom,
Firstly, you need to recheck the DNS entry is well setup for your case. Are you using DNS RR for Load balancing the server or 3rd party load balancer? Have you setup the proper certificate for your case?
Please check whether required ports is opened? We need to open TCP port 443 and UDP port 3391 and forward them to your RD Gateway server. Also need to specify the external FQDN of your RD Gateway server in deployment properties under RDS server manager. If
you have RDWeb and RDG on the same server this would be the same FQDN that your users will use for RDWeb. Please see whether you have properly configured RD RAP and RD CAP policy.
You can go through beneath article for more details.

  • External HD and Internal Hardware?

Posting this here, since I use my External HD on my iBook G4. Although, this can go with all computers. *What Hardware is used for an External HD to startup and appear on the computer?* From my, somewhat new PC versus my iBook G4. The iBook G4 takes 1 - 5 minutes for the External HD to start up, where my PC takes no more than 12 seconds.

does it take my Computers CPU or RAM to start up the External Hardrive?
If your external HDD has an external power supply, as opposed to being powered by the firewire port, the drive starts up by itself. Normally you would want to power up the external drive before starting up the computer, so the drive is running and available when the computer needs it. The CPU is involved in the startup of the computer itself, and will draw on external power or the internal battery.
My PC is far more faster than my older iBook G4, so I was thinking that it may have had to do with the hardware for the External Hardrive to startup.
That will affect the booting of the computer itself, not the starting up of the drive. On the other hand, if your external HDD is not self powered and draws power from firewire, then it does, indeed, draw on power from the computer's battery or the wall jack.
I have a feeling I am not answering what you ask. I have not done actual tests to check the startup time from internal vs external drives, but 4 minutes does seem an inordinately long time. During that time, is it that the drive is starting up, or is the computer taking that long to boot?

  • Using External Speakers And Internal Speakers At The Same Time

I know this is probably a long shot, but is it possible to use both the external speakers I have (the cheaper Bose ones) and the internal speakers of my Intel iMac at the same time?
    Probably not, right?
I'm just looking for a cool three speaker kind of experience. Just wondering. Thanks for the help. Asante sana.
    Pete

    Pete
Once you plug into the external headphone jack that's were your audio output for iTunes is. The exception here for me is at start-up, the sound will use the internals untill the external set-up is detected.
Something else you can do to add more to your external set-up is to split it with an adapter(s).
Examples use this adapter: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&DOY=search&ModuleNo=1221&criteria= one lead to your powered externals,
and the other to a Stereo or TV with this adapter: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=31700&doy=19m2
You can buy these adapters at most electronics outlets.
Hope this helps you expand on your sound set-up!

  • EFP and Intranet Portal - Best Practices for architecture

    Hi All,
We are planning to create a portal for our partners  (b2b scenario). This portal will provide anonymous  and user specific access. We also have a intranet portal with ESS and MSS.  I have some doubts around implementing EFP and Intranet portal.
       1) What is the best practice solution architecture around portal instances? Is it suggested to implement both intranet and internal portals on same portal instance? Do you implement them as 2 seperate instances (and 2 seperate boxes) one for intranet and another for internet?
       2) There are couple of functions shared between inranet and internet portals. Has any one attempted   a FPN connection between a internet portal and intranet portal?
       3)  What is the best practices around an external portal connecting to ECC directly?
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hi Pallayya,
We are implementing a similar kind of thing for our client.I can explain that so you find some glimpse out of it.
    We have decided twp ways.
    1) We are having one instance of the portal that will be accessed both in Intranet & Internet. We are using two different URL for intranet & internet. We have a reverse proxy in the picture also, coz it will increase the security of the portal in the Internet. The reverse proxy will be available in the DMZ Zone.We have integrated ECC & BW with the portal and some web dynpro application(For intranet only).
Now the user comes from the Internet will hit the reverse proxy first->then it will go to EP Server->in EP it will be decided which kind of request client is asking ->
If it is a ECC request->Portal Server sends back the request to Reverse Proxy->RP will send it to web dispatcher->Then it will go to ECC.
If it is a BW request ->Portal server sends the request to BW Server.
    2) There will be two different URLS for the portal in Intranet & Internet
For that we used two reverse proxy
