What's the max-users of MeetMe , conference ,7936 conference station,How to change the number ?
the maximum 'conferees' of a conference call are limited by the type/number of DSPs and the codec(s) used.

this link shows RTR based DSP tables. a 6608 blade in a catalyst can handle g711/g723/g729, maximum 16 conferees per conference.
the number of sessions differs as well depending on the type/number of DSPs and codec(s) used.

You make an assumption in that other post about exceeding various maximums. That may be true or it may not be true. Since the installation of a database program seems to be your actual expectation, go work that forum thread instead. -
What's the semantic of "max user processes" (ulimit)

I don't understand the behaviour of ulimit, have a look at this shell dump:
$ ps hax | wc -l
120
$ ps h -u myUsername | wc -l
35
$ ulimit -Su 78
$ ps h -u myUsername | wc -l
bash: fork: retry: No child processes
bash: fork: retry: No child processes
bash: fork: retry: No child processes
bash: fork: retry: No child processes
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
$ ulimit -Su 80
$ ps h -u myUsername | wc -l
35
$
If I am currently running 35 processes, one would assume that >35 more should be sufficient to start two more processes - but obviously it isn't.
In this case, I needed at least "ulimit -Su 80" to start ps and wc.
If I set the "max user processes" limit to 79, the first four error messages change from "bash: fork: retry: No child processes" to "bash: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable"
Can somebody explain this bevahiour to me, please? Why am I not allowed to create new processes, although the limits should be sufficient?Apologies for the necro-bump but I hope this will help others.
ulimit -u does not give you the max number of processes rather it displays the max number of threads. To list the number of threads a user is currently using:
ps -L -u myusername | wc -l
The output from the above two commands can now be compared and allow you to set the appropriate ulimit. -

Not sure what you mean by "max user session", but since you mention sql code, then I have to think that you mean database sessions. If so, you can check out SESSIONS parameter :
SQL> sho parameter sessions

List of excepted users, that is, the users that are permitted to log on to the system more than once.
Ex as follows:
Valid Input, Formats, Areas:
List the user IDs separated by commas ",".
Blanks before/between user names are not allowed!
Correct: login/multi_login_users=ALPHA,BETA,GAMMA,DELTA
Incorrect: login/multi_login_users= ALPHA, BETA,GAMMA , DELTA

What you are describing, " Multiple simultaneous logins to a single computer" is not avialable on a regular Mac of any description, unless you decide to use Unix tools instead of Mac OS X.
Server will happily store files for many, many users and provide them to multiple (up to hundreds) of computers at "near hard Drive" speeds over Gigabit Ethernet. It can make the File Sharing part easy. -
I'm trying to increate the ulimits for max user processes and open files for the oracle user. I've set the values in limits.conf, /etc/profile and in oracle's environment scripts. Now when I log in as oracle I get the below errors. If I change the ulimits back to the original values errors go away but ulimits aren't changed.

I modified the /etc/security/limits.d/90-nproc.conf and added a line for oracle and also modifed the oracle.sh file. The ulimits are setting correctly when I su - oracle but they are still wrong when sshing in as oracle.

This can be done by changing the value of profile paramter rdisp/max_alt_modes. Currently its value in your system must have been set to 6. You can check the value through transaction RZ11. To change it use transaction RZ10.

How to limit the max dialog no that one user can use at the same time?

I meet one performance problem that one user can open 6 sessions in the GUI and he/she can run 6 reports at the same time witch could occupy 6 dialogs in the sap R/3 instance. It makes poor performance for other users.
Would you pls tell me how to limit the no. of sessions one user can create at the same time or how to limit the no. of dialogs one user can occupy at the same time?

I used this parameters in the default profile as blew:
rdisp/rfc_check 1
rdisp/rfc_use_quotas 1
rdisp/rfc_max_own_used_wp 20 (means: 20%)

We can reserve DIA W.P by giving value to the parameter :- rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp=1(default)
that have to necessarily remain free for other users.
This parameter is used to reserve a number of dialog work processes for Dailog mode.
For eg. If 10 dialog w.p. are configured for the instance(rdsip/wp_no_dia=10) and the parameter rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp=3 is set,parallel RFC's can occupy a maximum of 7 DIA W.P.3 DAI W.P. always remain free for dialog mode.
But now the question is how we assign/restrict this free dialog w.p. to the specific user.

Redirecting the message Max User Limit Reached to page
Hi Gurus,
We have set a user limit parameter in portal to limit the no of users logging into portal at a time...This parameter was set for each server node.
Now as soon as the limit reached on any of the sap server, then that triggers the message to the new user that "MAX_USER_LIMIT_REACHED".
We wanted to redirect this message/page to a different page where we say that user has to try after 15 minutes as the system is loaded now....
Can Anyone help me in knowing how to get this message/page redirected.

Maximum number of participants for MeetMe conference
How do you determin the maximum number of participants for MeetMe conference? All participants will join the conference via the PSTN with the exception of the initiator.
It depends wether you are using hardware of software conferencing resources. With hardware conferencing resources you can have 32 streams per port on a cat 6K blade so you could either have on conference of 32 participants or 10 conferences of 3 participants.
For software conferencing it depends whether the conferencing resources are co-residant on the call manager of on a seperate server. If co-residant the max streams is 48 and 128 for a separate server -

User will pass date as the parameter and if the table has Transaction Date same as the date parameter then that date is picked.
Eg: if the parameter passed is 12-feb-2012, since it is present in table then 12-Feb-2012 2:00AM will be fetched. The table has 2 records, the onewith latest date is picked.
Now if the table does not have Transaction Date same as the date parameter then the max date previous to that date passed as parameter should be picked.
Eg: if the parameter passed is 15-feb-2012, since 15- FEB-2012 is not present in table, it should pick 14-FEB-2012 8:00 AM (latest date).
I am not able to frame queries for the above criteria.
If someone can help me with the same, it would be of great help.

Since the call to TO_DATE doesn't specify hours, minutes or seconds, they will befault to 00:00:00, so '12-feb-1012' would mean mignight at the beginning of February 12. We want it to mean anything later on the same day; that's why I added 1 to the date, and used < instead of <=.

If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and also post the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using.

UCCX playing prompt to meetme conference bridge

I'm creating a script to be in front of a meetme conference bridge
1) collect meetme extension digits
2) recording caller name
3) if call redirect to meetme not successful: opening the conference by pushing xml to a utility IP Phone
4) then redirect caller to the conference
5) place a new call to meetme extension and play announcement + caller name to the new contact
All is working well except play the announce and caller name
No partition on extensions, same Region and Device-Pool. G711ulaw used
When placing the call to an Ip Phone the playing prompt and caller name works fine
Tried on my lab CUCM: 8.6.2.22900-9 / UCCX: 8.5.1.11003-32 in fact it does work fine only once for the first try after reboot all.
I tried it also on version 10 on dCloud: same issue
Conversations started on this item a few months or years ago I wonder if someone got it to work finally.

How to find the max data transfer rate(disk speed) supported by mobo?
I plan on replacing my current HDD with a new and bigger HDD.

So I guess, when I get the new HDD, I will first set it to AHCI and then install the OSes on it. See if NCQ helps any, and if not I will turn it back and re-install (if I have to). I am planning to have Windows only in virtualbox in the new drive.
Anyhoo, while I was in the BIOS I found two things which I had questions about :
1) Under Onboard Devices --> Integrated NIC , my setting is currently set at "On w/PXE" and it says the default should be just "On". Would it be ok to change it back to On since its a single machine and its not booting an OS on any server. I just don't want to have to re-install anything now since I will be doing that in the new HDD.
2) How would I know whether my BIOS would support a 64 bit OS in Virtualbox? I checked some setting under Virtualization, but they weren't very clear.
