Wait on reboot - and continue after?

Hi folks.
I'm having some issues with the reboot action.
2 bundles:
B1 - Install (Launch Exe) .NET Framework 4 ; Reboot.
B2 - Install B1 ; Install (Launch Exe) Expression Web 4.
B2 is the bundle that is associated to users.
So, the Install B1 action works fine - .Net installs and then prompts for reboot, but I then get an error for Install Expression Web 4 action.
I have a "continue on error" set for the Install B1 action (as .Net framework may already be installed on some users PCs).
It appears to me that the error is appearing because it is not waiting on the reboot? There is no "wait for action to complete" option for the reboot actions.
What is the best way to get Framework installed, reboot, then install Expression?
This isn't a force run. User launches it when convenient.
Thanks.

I dont think that a reboot or shutdown can be used in the middle of an action, but I think the following should work:
Put a requirement on B2, Bundle installed B1, remove the Install B1 action, make B2 launch on login and assign B1 to the user instead of B2.
The user would then launch B1 which reboots after install. At login B1 is installed so B2 will launched.

  • Resize Panels bug? Dragging panel depth is not smooth and continues after mouse up

I've noticed in both CS6 and CC when I adjust the custom panel layout by changing the depth of a panel or docked panels, the panel movement lags and often continues after mouseup. It's annoying and I have never seen this in CS5 or before. Does anyone else notice this? Surely it is not a "feature".

  • System rebooting and hanging after installing Radeon Drivers

Hello,  I have a MSI VIA KM266 motherboard with onboard video.  Whenever I install a video card in the AGP slot and install the latest display drivers for my Radeon 8500 (i've even tried a Geforce card with the latest drivers) the system will randomly hang, crash, bluescreen, or reboot.  I have the latest bios which are version 1 (ms-6738).  I'm not using any device in the PCI slots either.  I've got 256 MB of DDR ram, 40 gig Maxtor HD, and 8x ACER cd burner.  It's running on a clean install of WinXP Pro.  I'm running out of things to try.  On the other hand, if remove the video card and run the onboard video, the system runs fine.  Can anyone help me??

Sorry the CPU is a AMD XP 2200+ that runs at 1.8 GHz.  Not sure about the max amps though.  How can I find out.
    Thanks!

  • Data Merge: How to make images skip and continue after an ad or coupon?

Using Data Merge to create a catalogue of images but through out the layout there are Ads spaces that I need to have control of the images not to be layout in that particular space. How do I go about  having that control using Indesign Data merge?
    thanks

Thanks ja3754 for responding but you I went to a job interview and they explained  the procedure to me but did not showed me the steps. I told them it was news to me since I am aware of data merge doing business cards, variable letters and brochures but nothing to this level. So "unless they were not clear on the steps" according to them it is doable in data merge. But I am having a hard time finding any information on this procedure.

  • I tried to install v7 and it's stuck in installation where it says need to reboot to continue but nothing happens after reboot

Every time I reboot and start Firefox v7 it tells me that I need to reboot to continue. I'm using Vista. I can't get out of this reboot window even after restarting the system. I tried to remove the program to re install it but I can't do that either. I removed Zone Alarm and Adobe Reader and that didn't help either.

  • After rebooting mac, backup from hard drive was too large and didn't happen. I continued the reboot and can safely use my mac now, but how do I transfer the backup files I need from my hard drive onto my mac/macs system?

Seems like a silly question but I had an appointment at my local apple store about a start up issue, ran some tests and passed them which was fine.
After this, I was left to reboot my mac and basically transfer files from my harddrive onto my macbook. However, I couldn't choose the files to be transferred and so I went with the reboot and the startup issue I initially had was fixed, although I need the files from my hardrive to be transfered onto my mac.
There are backups and documents I need.

I'm not sure I understand, but are you asking how to copy files from your external drive? Open two Finder windows. In one find the files you want to transfer, in the other where you want to put them. Select the file and drag it over.

  • Preview is STILL frozen even after force quitting, rebooting and reopening. Help?!? I need to see my files!

Not sure what I did, but Preview continues to stay frozen even after force quitting, rebooting and reopening. It seems like it is trying to open all 720 pdf documents I have on my internal memory. That's my best guess... I really don't know what happened. I've tried clicking the 'close windows when closing application' option under general settings and every other thing I've seen listed on help sites... nothing is working. PLEASE HELP?!?

Back up all data. Quit Preview if it's running.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following items, if they exist:
    Containers/com.apple.Preview
    Preferences/com.apple.Preview.LSSharedFileList.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Preview.SandboxedPersistentURLs.LSSharedFileList.plist
    Saved Application State/com.apple.Preview.savedState
Log out and log back in. Launch the application and test.

  • TS3274 iPad 2 Auto-rebooting continuously after OS update to iOS 7

My iPad 2 is auto-rebooting continuously after OS update to iOS 7 . After every reboot , it is waking up for around 20 seconds and then rebooting again with apple logo coming on the black screen . I tried switch-off/on but the problem is still there . Please tell what to do .
PS : The iOS update was completed successfully . The General>Software-Updates shows "up to date iOS 7" .

I somehow managed to restore the ipad within 20 seconds time . I erased all settings and data by General>Reset>Erase-All-Settings-And-Data (simply reset settings did not work) . Make sure you have backup of your data (on iCloud or iTunes) before doing the previous step . Thank god , now it is working fine . *** Apple !!

  • Force software reboots after Software Updates install, and do a WUA rescan upon reboot and install any remaining patches?

Running SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 and having two big issues with SUP that impacted us severely with the February patches.  An RDP patch from November broke our 2-factor authentication (2FA) method, so we stopped deployment until Microsoft could fix the
patch.  Rather than fixing the patch...they made a patch for the patch.
We divided our servers up into multiple Day/Time maintenance windows, like SUN, MON, TUE, and from 0200 to 0600 AM, and we run deployments weekly as needed.
There doesn't seem to be a way in SUP to "let SCCM control reboot" and ALWAYS reboot (whether the patches request it or not), and, as a result, we seem to have an awful lot of servers that are stuck at "reboot pending" after patch installation,
and have actually taken to using a third-party program to reboot the servers.
There also doesn't seem to be a way to force SCCM SUP to rescan the computer after the patch is applied until after a day...or, for servers, a week (from Mon to Mon, for example).
What happened this time around was that the first patch installed and broke 2FA, the second patch is not recognized as being needed until after a reboot and rescan--since that did not occur, it took up to a week to get the second patch installed (IF the
server ever was rebooted), which...was unacceptable.
    Soooo...how can I:
         1.  ALWAYS force SCCM to reboot after patching (60-min countdown if user logged-on), just like we do with our normal deployment advertisement, package, program.
         2.  Force a WUA scan after this reboot, so, if remaining patches from this patch group are needed, they get detected and installed, and hopefully this will all work within the 4-hour window (we might be able to extend it earlier,
    but, not past 0600).
    Thanks!

Thanks, Don.  OK, if there is a "reboot required" returned at the end of the patch deployment...shouldn't the computer then reboot?  We see a large number of computers with "reboot required" that never reboot.  Is there something wrong in
the setup to stop a reboot from occurring?
    Thanks.
It looks like you've continued the conversation with Jason and it's taken an interesting turn ;)
But, in the case where a reboot_required is the returned resultcode, CCM will look to your MW and deployment settings, and the context of the installation event (enforcement etc), to determine if the reboot request should be honoured or refused.
You should be able to see all the to-and-fro of this logic within the client logfiles, as it's occurring (or after the event).
If you do some spelunking into the logfiles, don't forget to look at windowsupdate.log (the WUAgent logfile), as that can, with the CCM logfiles, paint a more complete picture of the "flow of things".
This does all assume that the client machine is in a healthy and predictable state to begin with.
If there is already some other pending_reboot hiding in the background, or, WUAgent is running with it's own configuration (potentially fighting with CCM), or, it's Win8 with the "Automatic Maintenance" scheduled task, you can get some unexpected behaviour
(but usually that is unexpected reboot, rather than unexpected no-reboot)

I just encountered a similar issue.  I bought a new iPhone5s and sent my iPhone4s for recycling as it was in great shape, no scratches, no breaks, perfect condition.  I expected $200 and received an email that I would only receive $24.12.  The explanation was as follows:  Phone does not power on - Power Supply Error.   Attempts to discuss don't seem to get past a customer service rep that can only "escalate" my concern.  They said I would receive a response, but by email.  After 4 days no response.  There is something seriously wrong with the technical ability of those in the recycling center.

Did you actually download the installer from Apple or did you use Software Update.  You can download the installer http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Maybe I'm old fashioned but I would consider repairing permissions first using Disk Utility because something caused this to go wrong the first time.  And of course make a backup of your whole library first.  It shouldn't happen but some have complained about their libraries being wiped out by iTunes updates.  Better safe...
