Waiting for Activation.. uhm HELP :(
My iPhone 4S has not been using iMessage all day. I'm just trying to fix it now, and when I turn it off and then back on, all it says is "waiting for activation" and then eventually says failed. How can I fix this? Is anyone else having this issue?
side note: FaceTime also is not working.. blah.

when i try to active the imessage or facetime it typing "Waiting for activation" and stuck like this.
when i go to setting > phone > i see the correct number.
i think i read the whole google already trying resolving this issue tried everything, even restored my phone and actived the new sim using itunes.
but still not working same error.
the NEW sim of HOT MOBILE gave me a temporary number which worked fine its was 053-xxxxxx
after somthing the transfer like 24 later hours they transfered my old number from another carrier witch is 054-xxxxxx
and now not working.
called my carrier and they has no idea how to fix that.
they told me contact apple.

- Date & time set as automatic (I don't know why this matter, but mine was already set as automatic from the begining)
- Reset network setting
- Changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8.
- Restore to factory setting (from back up & as new iPhone)
- Turning on/off iMessage & facetime
- Sign out/in of apple ID
- Change location from apple ID
- Hard reset/reboot
And many others.

My imessage isnt working so I turned off imessage and now its been saying "waiting for activation" and has been for a long while now? Also saying that my apple ID password is inccorrect when its not! Can anyone help me?

I have an old iPod Touch with old software that can no longer be updated:

I've been searching for a solution to my iMessage login problem for months and tried everything from those frustrating links and all the tips from other users.
Here is what finally worked:
1) Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On
2) Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically > On
3) Reboot device until Apple logo appears
4) Settings > Messages > Sign In -
After the IOS7 update, i can no longer use my imessage and facetime. It says "waiting for activation" and tried to log in on my apple id but it turned out to connection error. Please help me guys! Thank you.
Have you tried to reboot your phone(hold home and lock button simutainiously)?

I keep getting "waiting for activation" on my iMessage. I can only send/receive iMessage from my email address, NOT my phone number.
Under Receive at, my phone number isn't listed at all and I have no way of adding it.
I've checked under setting > phone > my number. And the phone # is listed correctly. (I live in Indonesia so it's +62xxxxx).
And I'm not sure if this is connected or not, but under setting > phone > show my caller ID, the ON button is greyed out.
A little history & weird problems I encountered:
My iPhone 4S was stolen about a month ago (I'm still ****** about it).I did a remote wipe on it and I figured the person who stole is has thrown away the SIM card because the number isn't active anymore.
So I just bought a brand new iPhone 4S and a new number again. I synced it to iTunes and upgraded it to iOS 5.1 then I did a restore from my old back up. Everything was fine except for the iMessage. It shows "waiting for actvation". When I tap under Receive At, the email address is listed as well as my OLD phone number (the one that was stolen). It was greyed out and the status was "verying" which later turned to "error". I have no way of editing or removing that old number. When I connect my iPhone to iTunes, the phone # was shown as n/a on iTunes, but after 30 mins or so, it will appear.
So I did a restore again and this time set is as a new iPhone. The old phone number is now gone, but only my email address is listed. I can't input my phone number there.

I just updated my iphone to IOS 7 and cannot get my imessage to work, it keeps saying "waiting for activation" nothing i have read online has helped me try to fix the problem. why is it doing this and how can i fix it?

Hi, I have bought a iPhone 3G 8GB from ebay. I have checked the IMEI number on "checkmend" and there are no reported problems. It is apparently on o2 but I want to unlock it for use on Vodafone. I have bought a o2 pay as you go sim card so that I can get it unlocked properly but when I insert it I get the message "Waiting for activation, this may take a while" but it never goes until I press "dismiss" then it just says "No Service".
Under the carrier menu the only provider listed is Orange but under the "phone" menu in settings the last box does say o2!
Can anyone help? I've tried googling, restoring the iphone, uninstalling and re-installing itunes. Does anyone know what the problem could be or better still anyone know of a solution?No way to tell really - I am always suspicious about 'the worlds largest,best, greatest ' etc checkers of anything. The four/five UK carriers all operate an IMEI block agreement between them and somehow I doubt that they would give up that information to a small company operating out of a Coach House in Gloucester
That said, who knows - its practically impossible to tell where a phone came from - you are not the first to ask by far! The others didnt manage to find out either. Last night I changed my apple ID password on my phone. It says 'waiting for activation' on both imessage and facetime. Meanwhile I did some tests and I sent an imessage to a fellow imessage user but it sent from my email rather than my phonenumber - i dont want this!
When I go into 'settings' - 'messages' - 'receive at' (which has my current and correct email address) and click on 'my apple ID' and go to 'view account'
I see my current email with my OLD password (I can tell by the amount of dots) when I enter the one I changed it to last night it says 'you must choose a password that you have not used within the last year'.
So I have 2 different passwords being used on my apple ID/iphone.... The OLD one which is stuck on my message and the one I just used to log into my apleID to ask this question (the new one)
And I cant cant change this current one back to the old one to sync it up again because it gives me the message 'you must choose a password that you have not used within the last year'
I dont mind changing the password to a whole new one - but how do I do that so it syncs with all systems (imessage, facetime, App store etc) HELLLPPPP
