Waiting for download
The movies I purchased from Itunes on apple tv are stuck in waiting for download mode. I have tried to restart them, but with no effect. Any ideas?

Are you able to watch trailers and podcasts. Have you tried restarting the tv.

Hello, I have songs that show they are "Waiting" for download from the cloud but they are greyed out. Some songs in one album are done others in the same album will not download. It is not a time function because i have been working on this for weeks. I have allowed my compter to run for days and the songs are still not accessible. I have a Match subscription and Match is working. If I click on the "Genre" link the greyed out songs show that they are ready for download from the cloud but I cannot download them. I have downloaded over 1500 other songs, so I am trying to understand what is going on here. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
ThanksI did think about that and if I have to I will do that, however there are about 50 songs. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times and I am sure that I have the latest version. It fails right away but I can click on the cloud download icon and download the song that it failed on ... therefore it is not that song "or any one song" causing the issue. Any ideas?

Stuck on waiting for download? Any quick resolvable tips?
I have paid for the mountain lion and have recent mac book pro with 4 gb ram, NOT the retina model but later than 2009. I am stuck on waiting for mountain lion to download. I have a good ISP conection and all my other app stores download fine. Is there something wrong with my mac book pro or the app store or my ISP dns ? I'm with TalkTalk UK. I have tried using 8.8.8.8 4.4.4.4 dns also to no avail.
I solved it by holding down in the launchpad on the mountain lion icon with a left mouse click held down. When it wobbled I removed it with the X. Sounds simple fix like the iPad troubles some people get, but wasn't expecting it in the full OS of Lion too. Oh well don't expect anything I guess.

OS X Mavericks stuck in waiting for download?
I've clicked the download tab in the apple store and see that Maverick has transfered to my app tab. However, it doesn't leave waiting. Is there anything I can do?
I've got the same thing happening here; I Located OS X 10.9 in AppStore through multiple methods, including shared links and searching. Then selected "Free Upgrade" > "Install App" > <-Enter password-> > Where it then seems to pop an icon from AppStore into Launchpad where it looks like a DVD disk with the X logo on it with a status bar and it just forever says 'waiting...' I have tried multiple restarts after attempting to delete the 'forever waiting' state of the app from in Launchpad after clicking the 'x' to remove it; however it doesn't actually seem to remove itself from launchpad until after clicking the Delete option after clicking the 'x' followed by a restart. I have no idea why this is. It would be real nice for a solution on this.
Just to confirm...there is no actual network activity taking place while it is saying waiting and it is in effect just displaying that image and doing nothing. Any ideas how to solve this??
Also I do have one of the minimum hardware requirements being the model:7,1 iMac. -
Any way to eliminate quicktime logo appearing as viewer waits for download?
When I make a slideshow in iWeb, it works fine except it puts a huge quicktime logo in a viewer's window until the slideshow downloads. I want to have the slideshow appear and disappear without that distraction. Hope I am being clear.
Is it possible to eliminate the quicktime logo while files are downloading?
thanks, HughiWeb writes page code that uses the QuickTime browser plug-in. It "hides" much of that code inside javascript files.
Javascript (.js) files can be edited in any plain text editor like TextEdit. For an average user they can be quite daunting. The page code you want to look to edit contains:
SHOWLOGO=value (Optional... requires QuickTime 7.1 or later)
SHOWLOGO can either be set to TRUE or FALSE. The default is TRUE. When set to FALSE, this attribute prevents the "Q" logo from displaying in the plug-in when a movie is loading.
Since the default value is true the showlogo tag doesn't even have to be in the javascript code and you would have to enter it by hand (showlogo="false").
A better way to eliminate the big blue Q is to have a "fast start" QuickTime file. Check the QuickTime Discussions pages for more answers. -
Wait for download to complete, then copy the file to a new location
I am downloading some files with PowerShell using webclient.downloadfileasync.
Im using "Start-sleep -s 10" to prevent the files to be copied before it is completed, but sometimes the download takes longer than 10 Seconds or the url is not accessible. Is there some way to check when the file is completed?
Or maybe another solution is to check the url before it even starts downloading.

I keep my Galaxy S5 data turned off so I use free WiFi as much as possible.
This saves my data plan allotment.

How can I store the music I listen to on my iphone without streaming it from the cloud and using all my data on my phone plans? How do I dump it on my phone all at once in itunes rather than waiting for each song to download individually from the cloud?
What?? You asked how to get all your music on your phone at once rather than downloading it to your phone from iCloud.
Go to your purchased list in iTunes and download all your music to your iTunes library, as explained in the linked article. Then sync it all to your phone using iTunes you're done. The music will be stored locally on your phone and you won't have to download it again in the future. -
new iphone. (someone else put in their username and password. so i had lots of apps that i had to eliminate but do NOT wish to compromise the contact list) time for me to update the iphone. downloaded itunes onto pc. plugged in iphone and waiting for prompt to show phone. pc thinks it is the camera. how do i get itunes/pc to recognize iphone ? then, how do i backup contacts and proceed before updating iphone?

I have 3 songs waiting to download for 3 days. I am unable to swipe to delete and I have rebulit my itunes libary which did not remove the songs from my phone. What do I need to do to get rid of these songs?

I know it can be frustrating when you are waiting for content to download to your iPhone from the iTunes Store. There are a few steps I would recommend in this situation. Please read over and follow the steps in the attached article.

If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.

Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security (or Security & Privacy) > Firewall
If that doesn't help, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Now here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
com.apple.appstore.plist
com.apple.storeagent.pllist
Now here:
~/Library/Cookies
Click Go
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, try the App Store. -
Message: "Waiting for App Store to download Mac OS X Server Add on"
Trying to install 10.7 (from 10.6.8) on Mac Mini server 4,1. I don't use it as a server, and don't know anything about that.I get a message "Waiting for App Store to download Mac OS X Server Add on" check download at App store. There is none. Help?
Mac Mini Server 4.1/2.66 GHz/Intel Core 2 Duo/8 GB MemoryRan into this myself on a new MacMini Server. I renamed the ServerVersion.plist file in /System/Library/CoreServices/. That allowed the install to start. Unfortunately it seems the installer is setup to install that at the same time. I renamed the file back before the restart and it complained on restart that the server install wasn't found.
So I thought I would try downloading it on another computer with Lion. That didn't work either. As soon as it finished download it installed and deleted the installer.
What a pain.
If you can start from scratch, you should be able to rename the file, do the Lion install then after the Lion install rename it back. Then do the server install. I'm not sure what that will do to existing server configs though. There must be some reason Apple set up the Lion installer this way.
Oh, now I can't reboot into my existing OS. It keeps rebooting into the installer. Tried the option key and both options are named something like base os. Neither boots my existing Snow Leopard. Gonna have to get an external DVD drive and install from scratch I think. Luckily this is a new server not in production, so not a big deal. I hope people with production machines read the boards and tread carefully. -
OK, as always I waited before downloading a new OS and I'm sure glad I did. On the APP store I sorted comments by most critical...and WHOA...what is Apple doing? No support for Logic 9, MS Office? Is Apple only trying to reach the iphone/iTouch crowd? HELP! I was going to buy a new Mac pro & two 27" monitors but until I see some real problem addressing by Apple...I'll keep what I have and see how everything pans out. If anyone has any comments to ally my fears, I welcome them. I've been a devoted Mac user since 1993. 7500; G4; G5; and my latest Mac Pro...Where do I go? Again...HELP!

If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.
