Waiting for Ipad

Im trying to complete a full restore ( approx 37 minutes) however just as I feel all going well the apple logo appears along with an empty progress bar & the words "waiting for Ipad" on the Computer screen . This lags for ever with no
progress whatsoever. Any help greatly appreciated. Apple suggest taking in to Genius bar but have warned me as it is out of warranty I may face a £206 bill.

Stop the process, reboot both computer and ipad.
Update all software on computer, especially itunes.
Try again, but with another usb port, if available.

Use the charger that came with the iPad or a name brand charger of equal or greater capacity. Plug that into a known good wall outlet. Then wait at least an hour. While the iPad is still plugged in to the charger reset your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
If the iPad restarts continue to charge it until the battery is at 100%
If the iPad does not start Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

How long has it been displaying the Apple logo? Does it have a progress bar underneath?
If you feel like it's been that way for too long, try putting the iPad in Recovery Mode:
Leave it plugged into the computer. Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the screen goes black and the Apple logo reappears. At that point, release the power button but continue holding the home button until iTunes on your computer says "iTunes has detected a device in Recovery Mode." Then click "Restore" in iTunes.

Ipad 2 stuck DFU mode when restore stuck on waiting for ipad apple logo

After updating ios 7.01 after a week or less it went blank. After that fixed on itunes restore and update. Gone on 7.04 latest hangs for the 1st 2nd 3rd waiting for ipad.... And finally installed. After 1 day, ipad is on DFU mode and when prompted to iTunes recovery mode restore and update... It hangs saying waiting for ipad no progress... It stays on dfu mode.

after updating iPad 2 it stucked... Nothing is working: hard reset does not work, changing ports do not work, turning off AV, firewall - doesnt work....Nothing.

"Waiting for IPad" message & seems stuck during update.

Hi. I am in the process of updating my IPad from software version 3.2.2 to the current version. My computer took over an hour to download the update and now has been stuck for hours saying it's "waiting for IPad" and that ITunes is updating the software. The IPad has the Apple icon and a download bar which has not progressed at all. I am concerned the upgrade has got stuck and I don't know what to do next. Any ideas of what to do will be gratefully appreciated please.

I have a iPad 2 that will not power up nor will it recover. When plugged in, iTunes detects the iPad is in recovery mode and tells me I must restore to continue. I agree and iTunes downloads the recovery and updates file, decompressed it, verifies it, then says it is Preparing the iPad for recovery. I then get the apple logo on the iPad screen with a progress bar. iTunes then says "Waiting for iPad". The progress bar never moves and iTunes has said Waiting for iPad for 2-hours now. When I disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, the logo/progress bar remains until I do a hard reset (home button/power button) to power it off. Power button alone will not power it off. Again, the iPad will not power up and again, iTunes will recognize it when plugged in and the whole cycle starts over again.

When did this start happening? I mean, what was happening to the ipad that prompted you to try a restore in the first place?
Did this start when trying to updated the ios?
There were some issues awhile back with ipad 2 and updating to ios 6.1. The ios file had to be downloaded seperately to the computer and all other previous ios update files previously downloaded had to be deleted from the computer.
If what I'm saying describes the issue, then take a look at the following article links, otherwise, you may just have to keep trying to follow HT1808 (it may take several attempts).

up to you. I pad 3 may come after the first of the year, it may not come til 2013. Up to you how long you want to wait.

After installing IOS7 it would turn itself completely off sometime and have to be restarted with both buttons. If I turned it off normally it would restart okay within an hour or so but overnight it would always go to hard off.
Using both buttons would usually start it with the Apple logo on the screen until it came up. Worked normally then. Knowing something was afoot I did a restore.
Now it will not turn on at all and I tried to restore in itunes but it stops at the point of "waiting for info from the Ipad"
I tried the Apple forum "recovery-restore" process several times with holding down the home button and plugging in the USB but it did not respond.
When connected through itunes it is still recognized as needed to be restored but the process will not complete.

exactly like mede1 said. I'm in the same boat as you here. My advice is to wait till next year or even the year affter that. Beside the retina display, the new iPad doens't offer any thing highly over the iPad 2

Clearly, iPad 3 is known for its amazing retina display, but is sometimes known to overheat if you use it for a while.
So if you don't have an iPad, but you don't want your ipad to overheat, wait for iPad 4.
If you don't have an iPad, but you don't care about the overheating, buy iPad 3, because it is still pretty great.
If you have an iPad, stick with it and see what iPad 4 brings to the tablet market.

If you play big games and watch movies a lot, get the 64.
If you like surfing the web, checking email, get a 16.
If you are a little bit of both, theres a 32 gig iPad with your name on it.
If you have a computer with internet at home, there is no point in getting 3G. Depends how rich you are - it's all a luxury anyway.
Smart Covers are quite brilliant. They are perfect for watching TV, playing games, and pretty much everything. Sometimes it is nice to have a more protective case though, but in the end it comes down to personal preference.
When it comes down to color, get the black version. The white tends to get dirty.
If I got and iPad, I would get a black Wi-Fi 64 gig with a lime green smart cover.

I am facing the same problem with my iPad! However I was able to turn it off except that while trying to retore my iPad through iTunes, it takes iTunes like forever waiting for iPad! I tried repeating the restore process for three days now but my iPad doesn't respons! do you have a solution to this problem?
