Waiting for sprint contract to end...

I was wanting to get an iphone for Christmas, but my plan with sprint is not up until June. I have been told that no part of the iphone will work until the phone is activated. Is there any way I can accomplish this without paying a full contract for the iphone every month? Is there any way to use the iphone without the phone part? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!!

Here is a link with the monthly fees:

You would be forced to select one of these plans and pay for the actiavtion as well as the first month up front. With the cheapest plan this will be a little over $100.

  • Getting java to wait for a process to end

    I have an application running Javac i need it to wait for this process to end before it does anything else.
    I have tried using theProc.waitFor() (the Process i have created), but this hangs my application. I know there is nothing wrong with the class paths and java itself. I have checked the process list and Javac is still in it. WHY?
    Can someone suggest anything.

  • Waiting for sprint note 4 pre order

    Pre ordered device on Oct 15,was told it would be there release day the 17th. Come to find out it still hasn't shipped. I called 1877 bby mobile number and they called the store and was told they will not be receiving any this week. So now another week waiting for a phone... No one at the store is any help besides telling me to cancel my order. Horrible, terrible experience. I get no answer from corporate. This is unacceptable.

    Hello JPodlewski-
    Thank you for pre-ordering the Note 4, I know that you place your order on Oct. 15th in hopes to have it by the release date of October 17th.
    I apologize for any misinformation that you may have received, as placing a pre-order only guarantees you a phone in the order in which the orders were received, not necessarily on the day it was released. Please be assured that when we receive additional inventory from Samsung, Best Buy will contact you so that you to fulfill your pre-order. I regret that I don't have better news for you.
    Sincerely,

  • How to use wait.for() /wait() commands for MAC? Not working...

    I am trying to run an external application on mac using runtime.exec() and it runs fine but after it runs it suddenly terminates the program. I have a waitFor() command after the runtime.exec() waiting for that program to end. If i comment out the waitFor() then the program terminates by going through the run command. The waitFor() worked fine for PC but doesnt work for MAC... anyone know what i did wrong or alternative way of listening for it? thanks!

    On the PC i have the following:
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("C:\\program Files\\QuickTime\\QuickTimePlayer.exe "
    +file.getPath());
    p.waitFor();
    It basically creates a process of QuicktimePlayer and runs the file specified. I then have p.waitFor() used to wait for the user to close the application so i can do listener stuff for it- it worked for PC.
    On Mac
    String b= "open"+ tempFile.getPath();
    Process p= Runtime.getRuntime().exec(b);
    System.out.println("before wait");
    p.waitFor(); .
    System.out.println("app. terminated");
    output:*
    "before wait".
    Program terminates before System.out.println("app. terminated"); but the application (quicktime) starts.
    if I do this:
    String b= "open"+ tempFile.getPath();
    Process p= Runtime.getRuntime().exec(b);
    System.out.println("before wait");
    // p.waitFor(); .
    System.out.println("app. terminated");
    output:*
    before wait
    app.terminated
    program terminates "normally" and I see "app.terminated".
    I used Eclipse so the "red square" turns red when running it and suddenly grays out when the player appears. So to me the program terminated before the p.waitFor(); If i commented out p.waitFor() then the program goes to the System.out statement and everything goes "fine". I tried using thread.wait(), this.wait() p.wait() etc. but i get errors saying they are not owner of the thread.
    hope this helps. thanks

  • Contract ending soon...wait for the iPhone 5?

    My contract ends on 6/4/11 and I'm thinking about waiting until the summer to see if there will be a Verizon iPhone 5 since I don't want to buy the iPhone 4 now and have it be obsolete within a few months.
    If the iPhone 5 does come out later on in June or July, my contract will already be over. I've heard that contracts continue on a month-by-month basis if you don't cancel it but I can't find any specific info on the site. Is that true?
    Suggestions?

    a couple of ways to look at this, of course this is amongst the dozens of threads already discussing this
    1. "IF" a new one comes out in june the iphone 4 is not obsolete, it is still a great, fast phone that will continue to get updates as Apple releases them
    2. Buy now, if a new one comes out in june, you can get like $400 or so on ebay and buy the new one
    3. there is most likely a new iphone coming for att in June,  NO ONE knows if it will be for Verizon also, so you may be waiting for absolutely nothing
    4. and the most obvious most given answer, If you keep waiting for the next best thing, you will never own anything
    My other phone, the droid inc is older then the iphone 4, A LOT of droid phone have been released after it and my Inc is still not even close to being obsolete, it runs fine.
    Maybe at this point I finally will say the iphone 3g, not 3gs, is almost obsolete because 4.2 killed it and it's terribly slow, that phone is almost 3 years old and its just becoming obsolete, I still sold it however for almost $200 on ebay so it still holds the value, I sold it for what i paid 2 years later

  • I HATE the Droid "Incredible" and I can't wait till my contract ends!

    I'VE BEEN WITH VERIZON FOR 9 YEARS AND I'M SO OVER THERE SERVICE! I HAVE HAD THIS PIECE OF CRAP PHONE FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS (20 MONTHS TO BE EXACT) AND IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AND ISSUES
    FOR STARTERS, (removed to comply with VZW Community ToS)! I HAVE A CHARGER AT HOME, IN THE CAR AND AT WORK. I'VE TRIED TURING OFF THE GPS TO SAVE SOME LIFE BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP. I HARDLY USE THE INTERNET, BUT GOD FORBID I CHECK MY EMAIL BECAUSE THAT WILL MEAN MY FULLY CHARGED BAR IS NOW AT 50%. YES, I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING A NEW BATTERY. I MIGHT AS WELL GET A NEW BATTERY EVERY 3 MONTHS THEN. BELIEVE ME, THE "SUPPORT" TECHS THAT I'VE DEALT WITH DON'T KNOW ANY MORE THAN WHAT I ALREADY KNEW! "RESTART YOUR PHONE." "TAKE THE BATTERY OUT." "MAKE SURE YOU UPGRADE." HOW ABOUT GIVING ME A FREAKING PHONE THAT FREAKING WORKS!! I'VE UPGRADED THE SOFTWARE BEFORE AND IT SEEM TO HAVE MADE IT EVEN WORSE!
    DROPPED CALLS ARE MY FAVORITE PASTIME WITH THIS PHONE. YEA, I LIKE HAVING AN IMPORTANT CONVERSATION JUST TO HAVE THE CALL DROPPED. I HAVE TO CRAMP MYSELF IN A CORNER JUST TO MAKE A CALL, AND NO I DO NOT LIVE UP IN THE TREES. THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE WITH ME HAVE VERIZON AND CAN MAKE CALLS JUST FINE.
    OH, I ALSO LOVE WHEN MY PHONE IS FINALLY CHARGED (AFTER 3 HOURS) AND I UNPLUG IT AND MY PHONE SHUTS OFF. NO BUTTONS PRESSED. IT JUST SHUTS OFF. IT ALSO SHUTS OFF ON ITS OWN WHEN I TEXT TOO MUCH AND I JUST LOVE HOW IT FREEZES WHEN I USE THE CAMERA. ALLOWING ME TO HAVE TO TAKE THE BATTERY OUT (AGAIN) JUST SO I CAN GET IT TO WORK PROPERLY.
    VERIZON OFFERS NO "SUPPORT". I HAVE TO WAIT TILL MY RIDICULOUS 2 YEAR CONTRACT TO END IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET A NEW PHONE. UNLESS OF COURSE I WANT TO SHELL OUT $500+ FOR A NEW ONE TODAY. I ALREADY PAY A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT EVERY MONTH FOR MY CRAPPY CONTRACT, SO NO. YOU WILL NOT BE NICKEL AND DIMMING ME ANY FURTHER. THERE ARE OTHER PHONE CARRIERS THAT OFFER MY SAME PLAN AND FOR LESS AND WITH THE PHONE I WANT. I REALLY THOUGHT BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER STILL MEANT SOMETHING THESE DAYS, BUT WHO AM I KIDDING. I'M JUST A DROP IN THE BUCKET TO THEM.

        Gjr8103, I agree with you! Having issues with your phone is never a good time and I’m here to help! I want you to have a working phone that you’re happy with and would hate to lose you as a customer. Let’s get to the bottom of this!
    From what you mentioned it seems you’re having quite a few issues. Did they start after a recent software update? How long is your battery lasting? Is the phone charging completely? Keep in mind the battery life depends on the usage and Internet access will definitely use up the battery faster.
    Let make sure a third party app previously downloaded on the phone isn’t causing the problems. Run the device in safe mode http://bit.ly/p5eed2 and see if you notice a difference. If you see an improvement you will need to delete all third party apps and reinstall them one at a time to determine which one is causing the problem.
    If there is no improvement while in Safe Mode the next step would be a hard reset. Since you are having so many issues with the phone a hard reset is highly recommended. This will even help out with the dropped calls your experiencing.  I know this can be very inconvenient to do but, it’s a very important step in getting these issues resolved.
    If you are still having the same issue after the hard reset http://bit.ly/oOaRQt please send me a DM with your name and mobile so I can access your account and see what options are available to you.

  • Waiting for Activation i have an iphone 3g. iphone is from my old contract and i have given it to my girlfriend. she then went to the O2 store and they gave her a new sim card which is compatable with iphone 3g. O2 have told me the phone is not blocked.

    " fault code,,,,,waiting for activation, this may take some time,,,,,"       O2 gave my gf the contract and the new sim card to go into my old iphone 3g which was with O2 previous, O2 have assured us that the phone's imei number is not blocked, they have also said the sim is activated and there is no reason why the phone should not work. the phone is out of date warranty. the sim card does work in other handsets, also my sim from my iphone 3gs does not work in the iphone 3g. i have spent hours litterally on the phone to O2 and now to apple, but because i am out of warranty apple want £25 just to even listen to me over the phone. someone please help me. i am getting very frustrated for hopefully what might be an easy fix for someone. i have done all the resets that are possibly humainly possible, i have done all the resores you can do, have sync'd on many occasions all to come up with the same fault. i am still getting O2 in the top left corner but with no bars and when trying to call it fails imediately. wifi is fine, it works as an ipod.

    ONLY AT&T can legally/legitimately unlock it.  No one else at all.

  • Can iTunes be set to stop at the end of a track and wait for a manual play.

    I am wanting to use itunes to play sound effects in a live drama but I need to have it stop at the end of each track and wait for a manual start. It needs to be done without deselecting and selecting tracks by myself and, importantly, others who may be confused by the computer.
    If iTunes can't do this is there any other app that can, I've been looking but failed to find any apart from DJ packages which are more complicated than I would like for others to use.
    Dave

    You want to have a bunch of tracks, play them in order, the first one plays then it stops and all you have to do is hit Play to continue to next track?
    This script will do it.
    Play the first track and iTunes will stop at the end and queue up the next song. Just press Play (or Spacebar) and it'll  play the second song and stop till the end of the playlist.
    No need to select any songs or do anything fancy.
    -> Stop Track!
    "This script applet runs in the background while an iTunes playlist is playing. Whenever the accompanying "STOP_TRACK_05sec.mp3" track is encountered, the script will stop iTunes and advance to the next track, which you can start manually."

  • Wait for end mp4 DIr 11.5

    Does anybody know how to make Director 11.5  wait for end of a mp4 (h264) video ?
    I made the upgrade to version 11.5 just for being able to import and control the MP4 as read I have read in the
    "Top features: Support for MP4, H.264, FLV, and F4V video formats and video streaming"

    It work perfectly, thanks Dean, and make me know in the next survey;
    I usually get it late.....
    I work with director since version 7, it's still a nice program for very professionals presentations.
    More versatile and productive than flash for our point of view.
    Fortunately I need poor programming knowledge but most graphic or communication skills.
    With mp4 I can introduce video as a graphic component so After Effect (as before Photoshop)
    became a contribution program.
    But.
    Flv doesn't work, is practically impossible to import the file into the timeline without having an error message.
    Mp4 sometimes is not visible, if I go to play in editing mode.
    Some suggestions?
    I'm working on a Boxx Extreme. Win XP 64bit , 4 quadcore, 2 Nvidia Quadro CX graphic cards

  • Updating start date and end date at header level for a contract

    As per the requirement I have to create a contract and assign the start date and end date to the contract.
    I am using BAPI_CONTRACT_CREATEFROMDATA for creating a contract. I am assigning value for start date and end date for header data of contract in fields
    -CT_VALID_F and CT_VALID_T of CONTRACT_HEADER_IN import parameter and also setting the corresponding indicator in CONTRACT_HEADER_INX parameter.
    The BAPI executes successfully and does not return any error but when I check the start date and end date for contract in va43 the values are not assigned.
    I also want to update the start date and end date for contract in other case for which I am using BAPI_CUSTOMERCONTRACT_CHANGE and passing date values to the same fields as those create but it give me an error while executing. The error is as follows:
    Field 'GUEEN' cannot be changed, VBAKKOM 2000000162 ready for input.
    Can anyone suggest what can be done for update the date values?
    Thanks in advance.
    Komal

    So are we... The BAPI BAPI_CONTRACT_CREATE has the following importing parameters:
    HEADER     TYPE     BAPIMEOUTHEADER
    HEADERX     TYPE     BAPIMEOUTHEADERX
    VENDOR_ADDRESS     TYPE     BAPIMEOUTADDRVENDOR
    TESTRUN     TYPE     BAPIFLAG-BAPIFLAG
    TECHNICAL_DATA     TYPE     BAPIMEOUTTECH
    Change the HEADER and HEADERX parameters as I have indicated in my first post.
    Regards,
    John.

  • Servlet waiting for threads to end

    Hi !
    To make our web app more efficient, we wanted to delegate some work to threads. But it seems that the servlet engine (or something else) is waiting for all spawned threads to end before sending the response back to the browser. So, if a servlet finishes execution but the threads it spawned are still working, I do not get the next page in the browser. I only do when all threads are done. So my question is : is this a normal behavior of the servlet engine ? If so, why ? If not, what could I have done wrong, what should I look out for when using threads inside servlets ?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Yup I agree with the other guys.
    I am building a servlet that has 2 threads running continuously (looping), and they do not bother the requests/responses at all. But in your case if I understand correctly, you spawn threads from the request. You must have some kind of interaction between them.
    Are you sure you are spawning the code in a separate thread??. I use something like this:
    class Mythread extends Thread
    public void run()
    // code here
    THread threadobject = new Mythread();
    threadobject.start(); //( DO NOT CALL THE run() method, but the start() method.)
    Are your threads sleeping (to not hog up all CPU power???). Are your threads higher priority then the normal?.
    See ya,
    Andre

  • Waiting for the new Q10 to hit sprint but what will happen to my email?

    I am currently waiting for the new Q10 to hit sprint.  but i am hearing that i will no longer be able to use my blackberry.net email with the new blackberry.  i currently use it as my primary email.  1st is it true they will no longer have blackberry email and if so what steps do i need to take in order to make a smooth transistion?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1. yes, the blackberry.net email is no longer available... and quite honestly, in my opinion, this is a good thing. The blackberry.net email is not available anywhere except ON your BlackBerry, you cannot view it anywhere but on the handheld device itself and no backup otherwise. Get a free gmail, yahoo or Outlook.com account.
    2. Read this:  Article ID: KB33260 BlackBerry (hosted) email address forwarding for BlackBerry 10 OS
    So, create and start using the other free email account now. When you finally transition over to BlackBerry10, you will have your solution in place for forwarding the blackberry.net email account.
