"Waiting..." Glitch

There seems to be an "app" on my iPad that I can't remove. It's just a grey square that reads "Waiting..." with a status bar at the bottom, and when I try to remove it, there's no X in the upper left corner, either in iTunes or on the iPad itself. Is there any other way to remove it? It seems like it was a failed attempt at downloading an app; and it's a bit obnoxious to look at.

If all else fails, you can wipe your ipad back to new condition.
Settings, General, Reset, Erase all content and settings.
But be advised, this deletes all data, so sync first.
Hope this helps...

After the first sevral glitches the voice loses the picture; the character on the screen isn't saying the right words at the right time. I waited till it was fully down loaded and I restarted my labtop twice to see if the was the cause. It was not and and I getting up set I paid $13 for a HD movie that isn't even a movie; someone please help!

"Bought a movie from iTunes which as gone into my videos file and I am trying to watch it on my computer. "
But you can't? Does it show up in iTunes?

  • Macbook pro early 2011 - overheat and crash with blue screen and glitches

    Hi
since last wednesday my MBP has started to freeze and then crash with bluescreen, glitches and so on...
Most of the time doesnt not restart with any command as is overheating as well.
I did a clean installation on friday night and i am now running mavericks and then again on sunday it start with all the above issue. At the moment i am able to restart only if i reset NVRAM each time, which i do not think is really safe to do it everytime.
    i also tried
    Macs Fan Control
    gfxCardStatus
to fix but they doesn't help.
I read many customers are now experiencing similar problems with this mac as the GPU Amd is faulty.
APPLE SHOULD RECALL AND REPLACE IT or will lose many custumers
I am now waiting to be seen at Genius bar on sunday, however i read about etrecheck in this related post
    http:/https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5081857?start=0&tstart=0
and meanwhile i want to hear your opinion...
    Looking forward

  • Best Buy Order Glitch, Customer Service Terrible!

    Placed two orders this morning. The first one went through just fine. Placed second order for $45. When I submitted it I received message "Oops! There was a glitch, please call 1-888-Best-Buy to complete your order". It did not provide an order number, however, it DID remove the $45 from my gift card. I was placed on hold a half dozen times, transferred several and actually "oops-hung up on because we don't know how to fix it" twice. The last representative actually acted like she was going to remedy the situation but ultimately lied. She told me that she "confirmed" the glitch and that it would "fix itself" in TWO hours". We'll it has now been FIVE hours and no order and the funds are still missing from the gift card. Tried calling again but was placed on hold AGAIN and was disconnected by the representative. This is ridiculous! It is their system yet they can't seem to figure it out, yet it's my problem and I am expected just to wait?? Not to mention how long the item I am trying to be will be on sale?? I always have some problem when ordering from Best Buy which is why I will not sit quietly this time. I will reach out to the Better Business Bureau in the morning if their "glitch" does not resolve itself today. - j. {removed per forum guidelines}

    Hello J.,
I was very disheartened to read about your BestBuy.com order failing to process properly, and even more so by your description of your call-in experience. Certainly your call was not handled in the most efficient manner and I apologize for your having to cope with such an unsatisfying situation.
I will be more than happy to look into your concerns and do my best to resolve them as promptly as possible, but will need some additional information to begin. Please watch for a private message from me. • Rendering glitch in Save For Web?

    Hello,
When I "save for web" with some particular files, I get a rendering glitch in the image that takes the form of small, colorless horizontal lines.
    Example 1
    Example 2
Where do these come from? What can I do about it?

    I have this exact issue.
Happens in "Save for web" and in  "export". I managed to keep CS4 still installed and took the exact same  file and "exported" it and "saved for web", and no issue at all in CS4.  This is def. an issue that has popped back up in CS5 then.
On my  attached image there is no gradients or special effects, just clipping  masks.
I've tried the new options they have in save for web, "Art  Optimized" and "Type Optimized". The issue does not happen in "Type  Optimized" but the quality in type optimized is lower and it renders the  exact same as the vector file appears(so colors bleeding out a pixel  behind some objects etc.) The issue does happen in "art optimized".
Issues  happens when saving in png and jpg format, with or without  transparency.
I've  attached an example, notice the lines in her face. (same as initial  attached image)
So is this a "wait for an update" sort of scenario? or is  this a "use a different program to save for web" scenario?

  • TS1702 Ever since i downloaded ios7 my iTunes store app wont open. It does for about a second then glitches out. Ive already tried restarting the phone and closing the app

    I need help!!!

your gonna have to wait for a software update (or do a total reset of the phone, which you would only do if you knew that would 100% work, which it might not) sorry. i found a ton of glitches that cant be fixed without some sort of update. try this glitch: in lockscreen call any number for the emergency call number and hit call multiple times until apple logo appears. it will appear to have resprung but it will call the number you dialed. another lockscreen bypass.

  • Multiple Apple ID's on one computer - it says we have to wait 90 days to add the 2nd one?

I deauthorized our computer using my applie ID - I did not know it would deauthorize my husbands account as well.
I reauthorized it using my AppleID.  Now my husband cannot authorize his account until 90 days go by.  We share the computer, is there a way around this?
He is the one with the itunes match on his account & most of the music.  Now he cannot access it for 90 days?  Is that right?
I will forfeit my account on this computer if we can put his on.

A computer, as far as I know, can't have more than one iTunes library at a time.  I could be wrong, since you seemingly did so previously? Either way, I'd say you will need to deauthorize your account and authorize his.  If you still have trouble, then you will need to contact Apple support to reset the account or you might be better to just wait and contect them right away, get the "rules" of your situation and then see how they can help.
Oh, I think actually I found what might be your problem, yes you will need to contact Apple directly.  The problem is a legal issue due to the addition of iCloud.  So, it seems your computer accessing both accounts was a sort of grandfather glitch that you "fixed" when you deauthorized your account.  Now, again due to legal reasons related to iCloud, you cannot authorize your husband's computer because otherwise what's stopping you from downloading all of your music, then downloading all of his music, then get a few friends together and download all of their music.  Sure, you could copy the files over manually and add them (and that may be what you have to do for the next 90 days) but they can't allow it to be so easy as just downloading multiple accounts to your computer(s).

  • Why is my iPhone 5 screen glitching up and freezing? iOS 7.0.3

I bought an iPhone 5 brand new as my phone with Sprint at the beginning of September this year (so it is just over 2 months old). I have never had an iPhone before so I updated to iOS 7 basically as soon as it came out and didn't really have any troubles with it. I waited to update it again and got iOS 7.0.3. and I think the glitching MAY have come along with it.
When it first started, I would be using my phone and scrolling down the page but then the pixels will discolor in a vertical line pattern and I can still see what is on the screen. I would press the center button and it would go back to the screen and I woul wait for the pixels to return to normal. Now, however, it is getting more severe and there are random patterns of vertical lines and the screen will gradually go to white and freeze up. Then, when the backlight automatically goes off and I press the top button, then it will backlight a black screen and I can't do anything. When I tried to take a screen shot, the photos came out clearly without any issues.
I got really worried because tonight it stayed like that for about 10 minutes and when I plugged the charger into the phone, it didn't do anything.
Here are some photos that show the problems I am having:
This was when I opened a pin on the pinterest app. (I apologize for the quality of the photos, they were taken on my old mac)
This was after I opened the app store. You can see the line issues, discoloration, and distortion of the top menu.
In the last photo you can pick up the discoloration around the flower and horizontal discoloration of lines.
I have had my phone in an Otterbox the entire time that I have owned it and have not dropped it or had any water issues (dropping it in water, spilling water on it)
What is going on with my phone? I am very worried and would not want this mess to prevent me from receiving a phone call or text. Please help!
    Thank you,
    Erika

  • Disk Utility Issues Wait to Install Leopard

    Dear fellow Mac users,
Rather than a question, this is a recommendation to those who are wondering whether to install Leopard now or to wait until it gets really stable.
My experience in installing Leopard has not been positive and I chose to revert to Tiger. After discovering several issues and going to the "Genius Bar" of the local Apple Store, I fortunately have been able to restore all my previous settings.
The loss has been mostly time and money, and they frightened me up suggesting that I had to change my hard drive. For those who might experience similar problems, let me provide some details.
    1. Installation of Leopard
After carefully making a bootable backup of my HD on an external drive, I installed Leopard choosing the Option "Erase and install." This occurred without visible glitch. After updating the system to its latest version, I migrated all my data and settings. The result was an incredibly slow system, completely useless. It cannot have been the results of my settings, because I also created a "clean" account called "Maintenance," with the same results. On the recommendation of the "Apple Genius" I also added 1 GB of memory, getting a total of 1.5 GB of RAM installed to the cost of $150. It did NOT improve the situation.
    2. Disk Utility
Because I suspected problems with privileges, I tried to run the Disk Utility. The result was an endless spinning wheel. After waiting several hours, I had to force quit the application. Tried to run it from the install DVD of Leopard, with the same results. People at the Genius Bar also tried their disk utility after booting from an external drive, without any success. They diagnosed a probable failure of the hard drive and recommended that I replace it. Fortunately, I didn't trust this groundless recommendation and made a last attempt by erasing Leopard and reinstalling Tiger. Now it runs just fine, and there is not the slightest mechanical problem. Apparently, and I only discovered this today, the whole disk check procedure changed with Mac OS 10.5, and at this stage it is a complete mess, with enough bugs in Disk Utility to keep the developers busy for a couple of months. I came across discussions of this on the Mac FixIt Website.
Thus, my recommendation at this stage is that if you have Mac OS 10.4.11 running fine you JUST STICK WITH IT and be patient for a few more months. Upgrading at this stage amounts to loosing time, energy, and money. Of course, I am sure that Mac OS 10.5 has many promising features and look forward to using it in the future, but not now. I would be happy to hear contradictory opinions, if any.
    Best wishes for patience.

    Nerowolfe,
I have installed Leopard and have had nothing but problems as well. Perhaps you can help me. I am ready to roll back to Tiger. These are just a few:
    1. I cannot mount my external firewire drives. I have separately tested each and they work fine, I booted with the Tiger disk and they mounted fine, I reset the firewire port and when I connected them they mounted on my desktop, but not in the finder window and when I tried to open one, it just hung. I have been unsuccessful after many attempts to mount one of them with Leopard.
    2. I appear to get random hangs. I have a 160GB hard drive and 2GB memory. I have 42 GB space left on the hard drive....yet I continue to have random hangs, especially when I try to open disk utility
    3. Spotlight just does not work, period
    4. I keep finding locked folders. Right now my CS3 is locked and even after going into get info and unlocking it, it just locks back and I am unable to open the application. I am a photographer and have been unable to do any work for the past 2 weeks while I am messing around with my computer. Now I have Christmas photos to sort and can't access the photos on the external drives or even open CS3
I have searched the forums, tried many of the recommendations, but nothing is working for me....perhaps since you have been successful you could give me a hand with these issues.
    I wait for help.......
Other than that, how do I uninstall Leopard and reinstall Tiger????

  • Screen Flicker and Glitch on 24" iMac, Early 2009

For a while now, my iMac has been having somewhat random display glitches, flickers, freezes, and kernel panics that can only be fixed by shutting down the computer.
Most of these screen glitches go like this: The display flickers black quickly, letting me know that an issue is going to arise. The issues that could happen are as follows:
A blue line glitch (very common)
a random artifact glitch (somewhat uncommon)
    a freeze-up (very common)
    a kernel panic
    Let me describe these:
There are several types of "display glitches" I've been experiencing. Some of them involve random artifacts that are randomly displayed and seem to be hovering over whatever is going on on the screen–for example, once I was browsing Facebook and the glitch occurred, so a square of my browser screen was sort of cut out and stuck on the screen above everything else going on. The issue wasn't fixed until I restarted the computer. This glitch, however, wouldn't show up in screenshots. These are somewhat less common because it seems if this one happens then it either gets worse very fast and there are random pieces of my active windows all over the screen or it freezes the computer up entirely, or even results in a kernel panic.
Another "display glitch" that is far more common is a sort of line glitch. It's very strange: blue lines will outline random shapes and things all over the screen. Pictures on my browser appear distorted and videos look VERY weird. The dock has the lines and random blue pixels as well. The desktop background appears distorted. This glitch often starts with the screen flickering black and the various blue lines appearing. The lines change shape as the objects on the screen move around. The issue doesn't appear in screenshots but I documented it by taking crude videos and pictures on my phone that give examples.
Here's a link to my video of a video about a nonrelated screen glitch. I was actually searching Google for a solution but it turned out to be unhelpful, but since the screen glitch happened to be going on I decided to record it as an example. Notice how the blue lines move with the video...
    Here are some pictures:
This next screenshot looks a little creepy with the armored polar bear–it's a LoL build on Mobafire. CLICK HERE TO SEE WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE:
---NOTE: My computer actually JUST screen glitched and froze up completely, at which point I had to shut it down and reboot. Luckily the post was saved! Just in case you were wondering how often these things occur.
This issue is getting worse and worse. I'm not sure what triggers it, but it seems like graphics-intensive programs like 3D games can trigger it–especially, it seems, when I toggle on and off fullscreen. It looks like it could be a graphics card issue, because if it was a software problem it would seem like it should show up in the screenshots. It's sort of an underwhelming graphics card, but meh. My mom is having a panic attack and backing up everything on the computer and we're thinking about just reinstalling OS X altogether.
Here's some general info about the computer:

Any help would be appreciated. I've looked for solutions for quite some time, but none of the problems people seem to be experiencing match my issue. Thanks!

Lion causes your system to use more resources so it will run hotter. If you haven't cleaned you iMac's dust out:
As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
    SMC RESET

  • Late 2011 Macbook Pro iPhoto 9.2.2 Graphical Glitch

Please see the following video I have posted on youtube. The problem is happening on the late 2011 13"inch Macbook Pro with intel 3000 HD graphics. The problem is limited to iPhoto window. Is it a faulty GPU? or a Software problem?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9m1FD6MYs0&feature=youtu.be
    Any feedback will be welcomed.
    Thanks

If anyone has the same setup. Then I would love to know if you have the same problem.  I have included the steps that recreate the problem. I have sent a bug report to Apple about this, but I am still not sure if this is a hardware issue or a software one.
I believe this glitch is specific to the Intel 3000 HD graphics card, as I am unable to replicate the problem on a Mid-2009 Macbook Pro or a Late 2009 iMac.
    My Setup:
    A) Late 2011 Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz with Intel 3000 HD graphics.
    B) iPod touch 4th Gen 8GB, Original iPad 16GB, SDHC 4Gb Card
I have been able to replicate 3 times out of 5 this glitch by following these steps.
    1) Connect your iPod touch or iPad or SDHC card to your Macbook Pro.
    2) Wait for iPhoto to launch.
3)Once iPhoto is launched. Select iPhoto from the Menu bar and click EXIT iphoto.
    4) Relaunch iPhoto since your iPod touch or iPad or SDHC card is still connected, iPhoto will show you device photos first. Deselect that by:-
    5) Clicking on Photos option under Library and then hovering mouse over your Photos. The glitch should show up.
    6) Quit iPhoto
    7) Relaunch iPhoto
    8) Deselect Device photos by clicking on Photos under Library
    9) Hover mouse over Library Photos. The glitch should be still present.

  • Periodic "Glitch" at 1-Minute Intervals Using Firefox: Anyone Else?

    Greetings Everyone.
I have had this problem for quite some time, and after extensive trials at resolving it and attempting to get advice from many individuals, I've finally decided to post here, hoping someone can assist me in resolving it.
I get a "glitch" at regular 60-second intervals. This "glitch" manifests itself in many ways. For example, when using Firefox and I'm on my Google home page, I click on my "inbox" link and open my list of G-mail e-mails, after which time I can then check the boxes for each e-mail and then do a mass delete of the boxes checked. However, if I check any boxes (one or many), and wait for anywhere between 1 and 60 seconds, all of the check marks disappear (as if I hit "deselect all)! If I check mark them again, they disappear again within 60 seconds or less. This "glitch" appears to be occurring exactly at 60-second intervals. It also often causes web pages opened in Firefox to "jump scroll/page up" (usually in an upward direction) in the same manner (it's happened several times while typing this information here). It's as if someone hits a mouse key to inject a command every 60-seconds.
I have done numerous scans with Norton 360 anti-virus, Kaspersky anti-virus, iolo System Mechanic, and more...and the computer always comes up squeaky clean as far as viruses and spyware is concerned.
Yes, I've started Firefox in Safe Mode and it still happens. Yes, I've disabled Firefox add-ons in Safe Mode and it still happens.
I will note that this phenomenon even occurs on two other computers I have that are not connected in any way, one of which is new and has NO files copied from my primary computer and placed onto it. Yet, this happens even when I run Firefox on that netbook running Windows XP.
In some other programs such as MSWord, I often experience cursor jumps to another part of a page, a page jump up or down, etc. I am reasonably certain that this happens in other programs when Firefox is opened and running.
I have observed the running graphs under the "Performance" and "Networking" tabs in Windows Task Manager, and do spot a tiny spike that appears to be occurring every 60 seconds, but does not seem to occur if Firefox is not running.
Note: If I am on my Google home page using Firefox and I have nothing selected and the computer is idel, the entire page still "blinks" every 60 seconds, as if it is being refreshed. If I disconnect my LAN cable and thus kill my internet connection, my Google home page will, within 60 seconds, attempt to refresh itself and loose most all of its content. If I plug the cable back in and do nothing but wait, the Google home page content will reappear when the next "glitch" occurs.
This phenomenon does NOT happen with any other browser such as IE or Safari.
It's as if Firefox is constantly "polling" or "refreshing," but it also affects other programs that are opened when Firefox is running.
From all I can tell, this issue is caused by FIREFOX! I truly believe I've isolated it to Firefox, especially since it manifests itself when using Firefox on other computers I own.
Note that this does not appear to be doing any harm, but it can be a MAJOR pain when using MSWord or browsing the 'net with Firefox.
I have also tried disabling my computer's touchpad...still happens.
In short: there just must be ''something'' within the Firefox application that is inputting something at 60-second intervals.
It's been driving me nuts for over a year. I've searched the support areas and forum, but I have yet to find anyone describing a similar issue or suggesting a fix.
I would think that it would be easier to find the source of this phenomenon since it occurs at a regular interval, rather than randomly....but maybe not!
Can ANYONE provide me with any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Baffled Bobb

First of all, thanks again for your responses. BTW: I was unaware if I had marked the problem as solved. I don't recall doing so.
Are you running multiple AV or multiple Firewalls, are they causing the problem.
'''Well, that may e something to look at, but it is also happening on my other computer which definitely is not running multiple firewalls.'''
Are you able to identify the process.
if it is Firefox did you try Safe Mode with all plugins disabled ?
'''As mentioned above, I have run FFox in Safe Mode with plugins disabled on several occasions: no fix.'''
what happens if you try Firefox offline
'''As stated above, if I am off-line, FFox attempts to refresh itself and loses almost all content. If I reconnect the cable, the next "refreshing glitch" brings back all of the webpage content.'''
what happens if you open only a blank page in Firefox and nothing else (try about:blank )
'''Opening a blank page (BTW: tried it) is superfluous, because then there would really be no content upon which this problem would manifest itself.'''
Still searching for a solution! THANKS for the assistance thus far.

  • Macbook pro retina graphic glitch

    Hello,
I'd like to share with you my story with the problems I've had with my macbook pro retina 15' 2012 (with both intel and nvidia graphics) and ask for some help.
First of all, back when it still had Mountain Lion as its OS I already detected some graphic glitches. When I started the mbpr, 1 out of 5 times it would load buggy. The dock would shake whenever I move the mouse over it, exposé would lag a lot and eventually scrolling in Safari was terrible, incredibly shaky. Basically every animation on the OS went laggy or just at 10 fps.
However the performance in terms of speed and results was still OK. If I played a game I would detect no error whatsoever.
So after some months of ignoring it because I had work and couldn't take the mac to the store I decided to take it. It was getting worse as it started to happen more often than usual. By then I had already upgraded to Mavericks (no clean install, just updated) and the problem still persisted.
    Visit #1:
After explaning the problem and being able to show it to the genius they took my mac. They called a couple of days after telling me it was a OS issue and they did a clean install of Mavericks.
So I took it home, reinstall everything from scratch, they told me it may be an account/user issue so I better not use time machine to recover anything.
After a month it started to happen again. I have to say that it happen after I had already installed everything quite some time before, not right after installing any particular app or while running any.
It would load buggy again 1 out of 2/3 times and it wouldn't stop until I restarted and if I was lucky enough it would load OK.
    Visit #2:
I returned to the genius and explained again the problem. They decided that it had to be some graphic issue related to the intel or nvidia systems so they replaced the logic board.
Again a couple of weeks later I detected the problem again.
    Visit #3:
Once more to the store, they were quite puzzled that even after replacing the motherboard it would still show the issue.
After doing some tests they decided to reinstall Mavericks. Once installed they found no issue so they decided it was solved.
After this I had to return once again because it turn out that they forgot to connect the keyboard backlight system and it wouldn't light.
Anyway, this time I decided to install only the absolutely necesary apps for my work. I even downloaded the newest versions of all of them (if they had newer). Most of those apps are from the Mac App Store and the ones that are not are absolutely famous and used by thounsands of people, not that I use alphas or betas of any app.
One important detail is that the problem was getting worse. Now every time I started the mac it would be buggy and it was extremely shaky, it was impossible to read while scrolling in Safari now. Sometimes when using exposé/mission control it would even show weird pixels on screen. Every time I had this problem it was worse, more shaky and more often.
    Visit #4:
Being already a VIP visitor of the genius bar I went decided to solve the problem once and for all. I told them every detail, they saw the problem and I insisted on the software I had was completely "normal". They told me they would replace the screen, the logic board again and the IO just in case.
So imagine my surprise when I receive a call from the genius who was repairing my machien saying that after reinstalling Mavericks it showed no issue! I was furious. They insisted that it was some app I had installed and that I needed to install one app at a time, wait ONE WEEK and if nothing happens install the next.
They were not kidding aparently. After complaining I had no choice but to take my mac back and....here I am.
So my question (after the diary I've written, sorry) is:
Is this really being caused by an app I have installed? Is really an app capable of crash the entire animation system and only while in the OS UI and not in games? I've never had any app running on the background besides Fantastical (from Appstore) and Dropbox (updated).
I am listing the apps I had last time I resintalled everything:
    1. 2Do (appstore)
    2. Indesign CC
    3. Appcleaner
    4. Autocad 2014
    5. World of warcraft
    6. Dropbox
    7. Evernote (appstore)
    8. Fantastical (appstore)
    9. Keynote, Pages & Numbers (appstore)
    10. Pixelmator (appstore)
    11. Sketchup 2014
    12. Skype
    13. Steam
    14. The unarchiver
    15. Transmission
    16. VLC
    17. iPhoto
So, 17 apps, which I believe are just a few. Is there any of those apps you think may cause any issue? I haven't installed anything yet. I am using my old macbook pro (which btw have every app I had in the buggy retina with no problem whatsoever) while I try to see if the problem persist while installing nothing.
I still don't believe it is a software problem. Since it appears every time sooner and with more "intensity" I suspect it might be hardware but I am no expert.
Thanks for any help or info you can share!

Go for a few day (2-3) without installing any apps. Then install AutoCAD 2014 first and run only that for another couple of days. See if the problems resurface. If not, go ahead and reinstall all software, making sure that you create a clone after everything's installed (try Carbon Copy Cloner - they have a few 30-day evaluation period, I believe).
If problems resurface, you'll know that it's hardware.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • ATI Radeon HD 6520G / 7600M troubles. Glitches, crashing and such.

I've been am having issues with getting my graphics card to work properly.
EDIT: tl;dr Running cinnamon with xf86-video-ati is no bueno https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7122698/bbs_ar … adface.png (other stuff happen as well, but this is the most annoying)
I was using catalyst until recently. When I deemed the glitches and the occasional crashing (which I assumed were caused by the driver) to be too much,
I decided to switch over to xf86-video-ati.
While the open source drivers seem to work, they manage to somehow corrupt pixmaps/textures and they manage to hang my computer even more often than the catalyst did.
    I'm running aur/linux-lqx 3.6.4-1-lqx (as well as core/linux 3.6.5-1), extra/xf86-video-ati 1:6.14.6-2, extra/xorg-server 1.13.0-3, extra/gdm 3.6.1-2 and aur/cinnamon 1.6.4-4 . I've
also moved the damn thing to core/systemd 195-2 with sysvcompat.
I doubt that the problems are caused by gnome 3.6 having troubles with systemd or ati drivers, as I'm also having texture corruptions in opengl applications (using SDL for init stuff.)
I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with my cards, as they work fine under windows.
Right now I'm running using late kms start.
/etc/X11/ contains configs for twm, xinit and input drivers (all installed by their respective pkgs), as well as the config that I'm using right now:
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-radeon.conf
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "UghImSoAngryNow"
    Driver "radeon"
    Option "NoAccel" "on"
    EndSection
This is, of course, not preferable. However, it fixes nearly all the pixmap corruption problems and I haven't gotten it to die on me yet. Occasionally, my desktop background becomes
black with lines of varying (read: 50) shades of grey (aka. white noise), before it reloads itself, but haven't crashed yet.
The wiki page on ATI tells me to try and disable KMS by booting with radeon.modeset=0 or nomodeset. However, this causes Xorg to fall back to xf86-video-vesa, which
is itself quite glitchy (cursor flickers, all ttys are corrupted (unusable) except for the one I'm on, etc.)
Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.
(I'll see if I can post screens with the artifacts.)

Nope. Minecraft seems to run fine, albeit quite slowly:

The rendering errors at the bottom border of the "Cinnamon Settings" window and the white boxes between the chromium tabs. These are more or less permanent, they stay there until the window is destroyed, and reappear quickly after the window is first rendered. The white noise looking things on the chromium window stay there until the window repaints itself. Moving the chromium window causes the white noise to start flickering.
The screen froze when I opened a nautilus window and tried to resize it. Xorg.0.log doesn't mention any errors.
This doesn't happen in Cinnamon 2D, so I assume it has something to do with the OpenGL implementation.
    Forcing 7600M by adding
    BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
    to
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-radeon.cfg
causes Xorg to not even start.
I'm thinking that I've managed to improperly configure the drivers, although I don't see how.

The .wad (data file containing all the game's assets) isn't corrupted. The engine itself might be, as the sprites are always corrupted in the same way. Note the barrel on the right side that has parts of a lower resolution version of itself (mipmapping) and blue armour, the light thingy in the middle that contains a lower resolution of itself and a shotgun ammo, and the pillar in the other room that is just not nice to look at. Moving away or towards the sprite (which effectively changes the mipmap level rendered) might make the sprite look as it is supposed to be.

  • My Macbook keeps glitching and freezing

Since March 18, 2013 I have been dealing with glitches from my MacBook Pro. It freezes up and won't allow me to move my mouse or anything. Is this occuring with anyone else? The screen also glitches and beeps repeatedly at me because I have to use the On/Off button to shut down. Do you believe this could be from hardware or software damage? I take care of this like it's a baby with the except of carrying it in my backpack (Which I am very careful about) during school there has been no risk or time that I have dropped it or damaged it somehow. I could seriously use some help or light on the situation. Thank you!

i dnt think its even charging, it just has the apple logo on the screen, it dems and comes back on and then it says low battary please wait.
