- Tray 5 - A4 - Checked
Based on the requirements i have defined this O/p devices pointing to same printer. We are using ACCESS METHOD "C", But when the user tries to print he recieves an message as *Processing*  in sp01( spool request) and if i try to check the O/p request i gives an error saying
WAITING IN HOST SPOOLER (x) where x is a numeric and it gets incremented every time we test to print.
Please advice on what needs to be checked here to fix the issue.

How is the printer defined in SPAD? Is it defined like
<servername>\<printername>

  • Waiting in host spooler

    We are facing some printing prob: SAP Output blocks on printer LJ06 frequently: waiting in host spooler
    SAP Output blocks on printer LJ06 frequently (= every day, more then 1 time).
    This for output sent from several transactions (= not only or every time from the same transaction)
    We only have problem with SAP printing. No problem with BaaN printing neither with windows printing. Some follow-up tests done : it takes average 5 minutes before the status in SAP printer spooler is changing from 'Waiting for output formatter' to 'Waiting for host spooler'. Please provide some solution for this prob.
    Regards,
    Ansar

    Dear Ansar, There can be various resons as to why waiting in host spooler status is coming.
    You would need to drill down down to find out the root cause
    Can you check the status of Print Server up and running or not ? .
    Can you check at SM51 if enough spool process are there to entertain print requests. there might be a conditon where in spool work process is stuck.
    I would ask you to check with respect to your printer architecture. Suppoe if you are using print server to print then can you check if the is any network issue between SAP and Print server.
    If the above is green then can you check if there are many jobs stuck at printer level OR print server level ?
    may be you can kill the first one and try if the if the printout comes.
    Let us know if your problem still persists.
    Try testing the same printer at development, quality and production - this will help you in finding out if there is any issue related to and SAP instance host's network problem
    hope it helps.

    Ok I am upgrading from R/3 46C to ECC 6.0, on the 46c system the printers are configured as follow:
    Device type          HPLJ4    : HP Laserjet 4 series
    Spool server          sapprod1_PRD_00       sapprod1
    Device class          Standard printer
    Host spool access method C: Direct operating system call
    Host printer
    srtroot03.startek.com\srt-dc-c4-sharp
    Host name          sapprod1
    On the ECC 6.0 system the printers are configured as follows:
    Device Type          HPLJ4    : HP Laserjet 4 series
    Spool Server          srtsapeccdev1_DEV_00
    Server Description
    Host               srtsapeccdev1
    Device Class          Standard printer
    Host Spool Access Method C: Direct operating system call
    Host printer
    srtroot03.startek.co\srt-dc-c4-sharp
    HostName          srtsapeccdev1
    The 46c system prints just fine, on the ECC 6.0 systems; I can not get the printers to work.  I have made sure that the hosts file on the ECC server has the printer host address, and I get the following error back:
    SAP spool error log
    =====================
    Print request processing log

    Errors occurred processing this print request
    Error during print request output. l_rc = 1
    There may be no printout
    The access to the Printer Host is wide open, what do I need to do to resolve this issue.

  • Spool Error - Errors occurred processing this print request

    Hi,
          I have a problem printing documents through spool.
    1. I run a form from Form Builder, execute and select to print from spool
    2. In SP02, I select the spool request created and Select Direct Printing.
    Spool request Status is changed to error and following is the error log.
    I get this for all print requests from spool. When I print these documents directly, I have no problem. I understand there is some problem with the spool server but do not know what it is.
    I also observed that when the spool access method is G - I have no problems in printing.

    Hi Sri,
    Try to setup the printer at OS LEVEL.
    then,
    If on Windows---use method C.
    if not,
    use method U and map to your printer queue at OS level.
    Hope this resloves this issue.

  • "Network host busy" error

    Hi, everyone. I have trawled this discussion list and followed all the advice available to no avail. Any help would certainly be appreciated.
    The background is as follows:
    MacBook Pro, 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 duo, 2GB RAM, currently running OSX 10.6.2. Software up to date. Previously on OSX 10.4.11 until 4 weeks ago. Printing to a networked HP 4100 with a fixed IP address in the office worked fine until last week, when a "Network host busy error, trying again in 30 seconds" error arose. Printing from the other workstations (iMacs on 10.6.2) on the network continues to proceed normally. Steps I have taken include deleting the HP4100 print queue and re-installing (several times) as IP>HPJetDirect socket to 192.168.1.100. Clearly the printer is online (it says so) and is identified as the correct printer driver is selected automatically (HP LaserJet 4100 series v 3010.107) and all the configurable options are correctly selected (trays 2,3 & 4, envelope feeder and duplex option) and toner supply levels are correctly read. Still get network host busy error. Rebooted the printer. No avail. Rebooted the router. No avail. Reinstalled HP printer drivers from here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/#printer%20drivers%20mac%20os%20x%20v10.6. No avail. Have also reset the printing system (losing all the other print queues in the process!) to no avail. Checked the printer setup on the iMacs that can print, and it is identical to that which I am attempting to install. Have I missed something? Anyone with any clues, please?

    Hi there,
    If you have your HP printer queue configured exactly the same as other Mac's that are working fine, and with all the steps you have taken thus far, then I can only suggest that you either have a network issue or something blocking the path.
    So first thing is to check that you are set to the same subnet as the other Mac's. This can be confirmed via the Network Utility under the Info pane. You may have to change the drop menu from Ethernet (en0) to Airport (en1) depending on what you use. Typically the first three sets of numbers of your IP address is your subnet, while the last number is your network address. So, based on the printers address of 192.168.1.100, your Mac should have a subnet of 192.168.1 and a network address other than 100.
    If the IP address for your Mac is set to the same subnet as the HP then while Network Utility is still open, select the Ping tab, enter the IP address of 192.168.1.100, set the number of Pings to 4 and press the Ping button. You should get a response from the printer.
    If you do get a response then it is safe to assume that the network setup on your Mac is okay. At this stage I would check that your Firewall is disabled (located in System Preferences > Security).
    If the firewall is not enabled then my last suggestion is to create another printer queue to the HP, this time selecting IP > LPD for the protocol. Since HP wrote Socket then it is odd that it would not be working, but a network host busy would indicate that the Mac cannot either communicate with the IP address or the Port of the selected IP address. By changing the protocol from HP Socket to LPD you are basically setting the Mac to connect on port 515 instead of 9100.
    Note that if the other Mac's show the print queue URL as "socket://192.168.1.100/" then they are using HP Jetdirect also so it would make no sense that your connection to the same port would fail. But it can't hurt trying an alternate protocol when you have tried everything else...
    HTH and reply if needed.

  • How I fixed the 'network host busy" error

    I've been down for a day solving the "network host busy' error.
    First, I had fits trying to hook up this HP to my system. Here's the thread on that:
    http://forums.techguy.org/networking/858081-laserjet-4500-mac-osx-10-a.html
    Once all that was done, it was working.
    The system was off and sometimes unplugged over the course of the evening.
    I could not get it to work again.
    It turned out that somehow during the course of events, the ip number of the printer had changed. I printed out the configuration page directly from the printer's configuration menu, and reset the ip address to match the new one.
    Protocol in this case was HP Jet Direct socket.
    Hope that helps someone out there. It looks like there are a lot of people tearing their hair out over this message and that there is no one solution.

    I just found a solution to this problem and thought I would post it here, too.
    I'm using a HP Photosmart C7280 with 10.6.1
    Ever since updating to Snow Leopard, I kept receiving the "Network host busy" message. Today, I thought I would try running the network wizard feature on the printer itself, and after the printer connected to my router and I entered the password, the problem fixed itself. No more error message.
    I'm not sure if this will work for everyone, but it did for me. Such an easy solution for such a headache-inducing problem.

    Hi Lee,
    I am working on Oracle ADF 10.1.2 and getting the same problem. The lines in my struts-config.xml are as below:
    <action path="/unitsView" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="view.UnitsViewAction" name="DataForm" parameter="/unitsView.uix" unknown="false">
    <set-property property="modelReference" value="unitsViewUIModel"/>
    <forward name="unitsEditLink" path="/unitsEdit.do"/>
    </action>
    <action path="/unitsView" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="view.UnitsViewAction" name="DataForm" parameter="/unitsView.uix" unknown="false">
    <set-property property="modelReference" value="unitsViewUIModel"/>
    <forward name="unitsCreateLink" path="/unitsCreate.do"/>
    </action>
    I have two lines with [action path="/unitsView"]. The reason why is that I want the user to go to the form create screen for the create button and form edit screen for the edit button. If this does not work, it seems to mean that only a single screen can be used for create/edit functions. However, the ADF editor diagram looks perfectly to point to create.uix and edit.uix respectively.
    Please shed some light.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Michael

  • Print spooler error 0x800706b9

    I have a Microsoft Windows 8.1 and an HP Desktop 2512.  My computer no longer recognizes my printer. I keep receiveing a print spooler error 0x800706b9  I have tried the net start spooler command but that has been unsuccessful. What next? Please help!

    Hey , Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
    I understand that you are no longer able to print from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Deskjet 2512 All-in-One Printer as your computer is reporting a 'Print Spooler Error: 0x800706b9'. I would like to assist you today with resolving this Print Spooler error. Now, just so you are aware, the Print Spooler is a feature of your Operating System. It is built into your Windows computer. Essentially, it is the print system built into your computer. Printers rely on the Print Spooler to be functioning in order to print. The Spooler is not specific to HP. Therefore, I will be able to offer you some standard computer troubleshooting steps. However, should the issue persist you may need to speak with Microsoft Support or the manufacturer of your computer to resolve this Operating System issue. With that being said, can I please have you follow the steps below to resolve this issue.  Step 1: Check Print Spooler: Open your Start screen by selecting the Windows button on the bottom left hand side of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl buttonIn the Start screen type RunClick on Run to launch the Run dialogue boxIn the Run box type services.msc and select OKWhen the Services window opens scroll down until you see Print SpoolerClick on Print Spooler once just to highlight itIf you see Start in the top left hand corner than that indicates that  your Print Spooler is in fact Stopped (not good). But we will leave this for now.If you see Stop or Restart in the top left hand corner than this indicates that your Print Spooler is actually Started. Please click on Stop to temporarily Stop the service.Minimize this window as we will  need to come back here Step 2: Check Spooler Folder: Reopen your Start screenType Computer. Click on Computer (or This PC) when it populates as a resultIn the Computer window select your C DriveClick on WindowsClick System32Click SpoolClick PRINTERS. You may get a permissions warning, just Continue past this.The PRINTERS folder should be empty. If there is any files in here they are corrupted print jobs. Right click on anything in this folder and 'delete' the files.Close the PRINTERS folder Step 3: Start Spooler and Check Dependencies:  1. Reopen the Services window we previously minimized 2. Click on Print Spooler again to highlight it 3. Click on Start in the top left corner 4. If you get an error message please take note of it 5. If the Print Spooler starts successfully you will see 'Stop and Restart' as your options in the top left 6. Next, double left click on Print Spooler. A Print Spooler Properties window will now open. Click on the Log On tab at the top. Can you please make sure this is set to Local System Account and make sure the box is checked to 'Allow Service to Interact with Desktop'. 7. Next, click on the 'Dependencies' tab. Please check what Dependencies are listed. I will need to know this should the issue persist once you complete the steps I'm providing in this post.   8. Click Apply and OK for any changes you may have made under the Log On tab. Close the Services window.  Once the Print Spooler Service has started successfully you should be able to access your HP Deskjet under the Devices and Printers folder on your Windows 8.1 computer. You should also be able to print. Can I please have you test printing at this point to confirm that the Print Spooler error has been resolved. Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Best of luck!

  • Getting spool error when trying to use a network printer from a remote computer.

    I have 2 HP deskjet printers attached to my computer.  One is a D4260 and the 2nd is an F4280 all in one.  I would like both of these printers to be available on our wireless network so that my girlfriend can use the printers from her laptop. The D4260 is working just fine but when I try to print to the all in one it looks as if it printed on her computer but I get a spooling error on mine and no printing.

    Go to hp.com.au, top right corner select support & drivers
    select software & driver download type in your printer name HP Deskjet F4280
    then select your operating system-step 1
    on step 2 select utility diagnostic tools,select HP Print Diagnostic Utility
    run the software, select your printer, then diagnose...then select fix all
    this software automatically detects spooler errors & fix them
    just follow the instructions from the HP Print Diagnostic Utility
    good luck.

  • MS2026 -anvna Wait for Acquisition Complete -ERROR

    Hi Everyone,
    I wrote a labview program (LV 7.1) with instrument MS2026A VNA (Anritsu) and it was working fine.
    However the original equipmet stopped working last week and we have received a loaner (until our is fixed), same model, but does not work with my labview program.  I even try running this equipment with the sample program provided by NI:  "anvna Acquire Trace Example" and it gives me an error -please refer to attached pictures.
    The error is in the "anvna Wait for Acquisition Complete.vi."  I think it has to do with timeout (256).  I have added delays all over but nothing helps.  I used to have this same problem on the first instrument but it disappear "mysteriously."
    Could somebody point me to way to fix this issue?   Thanks very much,

    Hi Fvalenzu,
    I have a few questions about your application.
    Is the replacement instrument the same revision of the instrument you sent to get repaired?
    Is the device at the same address?
    Are you able to successfully communicate with the instrument in max using GPIB commands?
    You might want to verify the program is calling the instrument by the correct alias or address and you are calling the device correctly.  Also, I would check and see if there is a newer version of the IVI driver for your instrument. IVI drivers can be found at the link below.

  • Failed: 4x Host[hostname] error: NewMovieFromFile Failed -2048  Help please

    I have seen a lot of talk about this error but none of it really applies to my situation.
    Failed: 4x Host[hostname] error: NewMovieFromFile Failed -2048
    I am compression a large number on video files most of them are media100 or mpeg4 or mpeg2. Most of the files work just fine but a few of them just won't work. I get the same error each time just on a different Mac.
    I have a managed cluster setup with 5 G5s. I have 1 mac control all the others and the files are submitted from one of the other machines in the cluster. If I submit the files to the single machine they work fine but when I submit them to the cluster I get this error. The hostname will change each time but the error is the same.
    All of the macs can view the files and play them fine. Someone mention QT Pro. I tried adding that to a few of them but I got the same problem. It seems that there is just something about the files that it doesn't like.
    Any ideas.
    Ken

    I've seen this error when our Xsan was configured for high data transfers. Turns out there the san was corrupting the segments, and the nodes couldn't read the segments and assemble the files. Only the node that wrote the segment could read it. After talking with Shake support, turned out setting the san to default settings fixed it.
