Walgreens photos don't Show Up

Hi,
I just came back from Walgreens where I had some snap shot photos digitized (scanned) and put on a CD so I could use them as email attachments, etc.  I inserted the CD-ROM and tried to open the photos with Adobe Reader because it was recommend by my Mac.  Whenever I click on a "photo" icon, the following alert appears: "Adobe Reader could not open 'CreatPlg.dll' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."
Would someone please help me with this problem?  The CD is loaded with files with titles like:
* AdvertisedPlugins.dll
* autorun.inf
* BrandingRes.dll
* CD.ini
* CommonRes.dll
* CreatPlg.dll
* EmailCom.dll
* Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest
* PhotoApp.exe
* photoappsetup.exe
* ShoppingCartExtension.xml
* ShoppingCartWorkspacelcon.png
* Sizes.xml
* splash.gpb
* Viewer_Help.chm
* Walgreens.exe
* wgprod.tbl
I told the man at Walgreens that I had a Macintosh computer.  He reassured that all I had to do was to click on the CD image after loading and it would all be self-explanatory.
I use a G4 Mac; run Mac OS X  10.4.11 Tiger.
Sincerely,
Angel

Hi again Angel,
The only file listed there the Mac can use is the .png, but that's just an icon!?
If there are no other files the person at Walgrins has NO clue about Macs, since everything else is only usable by Windows®!?

    Photos don't show up in file name order on the iPad. Is there a way to do it?

    Apparently from reading other forum posts Apple iPad sorts photos by the date stamp.
    Clearly this is not suitable or feasable for people with large photo collections. Currently only people with Apple OS (iPhoto can create a sort order).. The rest of us with Windows based systems are left high & dry.
    Does anyone know how to report a bug / problem to Apple ? They have no way of contacting them via email.
    They need to have the sorting option in iTunes or within the iPad software itself... ie. Allow sorting by file name, etc.

  • I have a Nikon S6300 and when I import into iPhoto the photos don't show up in events or photos only in recent imports

    I just purchased a Nikon S6300 camera and when I import into iPhoto the photos don't show up in either photos or events only in recent imports.
    I have Snow Leopard on my MacMini.

    Control-click one of the photos under the Recent import and select "Show Event" in the contextual menu. Or you can use the View ➙ Sort Events menu in the Events mode to reset the sort order so the new import will be either at the top or bottom of the list.

    Possible iTunes issue:
    Try the following after adding photos.
    Go to file
    Then Home Sharing
    Select photos to share
    Click on All Photos already selected Do anyway
    When Apply turns black click on Apply
    Now go to Apple TV to see if photos there

    Works for me every time photos do not appear on my Apple TV 3
    Hopefully will work for you.

  • Some photos don't show in LIbrary view--just the outlines of them

    Tonight I tried to transfer a bunch of digital photos from a CD my daughter burned into my iPhoto library, into the 2006 year folder.
    I opened the CD and in the icon view, the pictures looked fine--jpeg files.
    After I transferred them, these pictures don't show in my initial iPhoto window (the one that opens first when you click on iPhoto in the Dock, and shows all the pictures in my Library sorted by (in my case) roll/date.
    Then photo thumbnails from years prior to 2005 show up, fine, but for the most recent year of pictures, all I get are the outlines of where the thumbnails ought to show. When I click on one of the blank thumbnails, of course I get a blank ...but the frame in the lower left shows the ID info for the picture and the picture counts, etc.
    I can open the folders from the Pictures file and see them...they just won't show up in the overall Library window.
    So...I moved the transferred ones out of the iPhoto library and just put them in the Pictures folder for now.
    But what did I do? And how do I "fix it" to make all the thumbnails show up again? This is probably some simple thing...but I can't figure it out. I tried showing just the last 12 months...and I get all the blank outlines.
    G4 iBook   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Using iPhoto 5, 768MB RAM,

    Hi john,
    First problem. You need to import photos into the iPhoto Library the correct way which is while iPhoto is open. Drag the photos out of where you put them (you already did) now you can import them into iPhoto from there.
    Read on for more info....--First thing to know and remember is this...Do not drag any images, folder of images into the iPhoto Library in the Finder. Images have to be imported into iPhoto within the application. Do not scan images and save them into the iPhoto Library folder in the Finder. Save them to another location such as the Pictures folder or even the desktop. You can then import them into iPhoto.
    If you have already put files/folders in the iPhoto Library folder in the Finder then you will also find out that if you try to import them into iPhoto you will get an error message. No worry, just drag them to the desktop and import from there.
    --All images that you import are shown in the library view. You can choose how you want to view, by rolls, by date, by rating, etc. When you put images in an Album, slideshow, book, etc, you are actually just putting pointers to those images in the library. You are not adding more images. If you delete an image from the Album it will still be in the library. If you delete an image from the library it is deleted from iPhoto's database and your hard drive (unless you have it backed up somewhere else)
    --You have a folder of images on your hard drive and want to import them into iPhoto. Drag the folder of images into an open iPhoto Library window and the folder of photos will be copied into the library, resulting in a new roll with the name of the folder. You now have two copies of those photos, the ones in iPhoto's database and the ones on your desktop. You can keep the ones on your desktop that you just imported as backup or you can delete that folder.
    -- you scan a picture/pictures and save it in a folder. You cannot scan directly into iPhoto or the iPhoto Library folder in the Finder.
    You want all your photos in iPhoto so you import them into iPhoto.
    Now you have two copies of that picture/pictures, so you can delete the originals that were in the scanned folder and keep the one/ones that were imported into iPhoto.
    -- You download pictures from your camera into iPhoto.
    There is now one copy of each of the pictures. (DO NOT HAVE IPHOTO DELETE THE IMAGES FROM YOUR CAMERA! DELETE THEM MANUALLY WITH THE CAMERA-if something goes wrong with the import and they are never imported and then they are deleted from the camera you might end up losing those images)
    You want to change something about a picture you imported, such as
    cropping it or changing the size, or changing the orientation.
    Once you do that to a picture, you now have two copies of the picture
    in iPhoto, the original and the edited one. The edited one will be in the library organize view. The original is packed away in an Original folder in your iPhoto Library folder under the date of the roll. You can always revert to the original by control clicking on the photo and choose "revert to orginal" You will not have this choice if you used iPhoto Diet to get rid of the Originals.
    (a quick note on cropping within iPhoto...when you are in edit mode, you automatically will be in the crop mode with cross hairs to highlight the crop area. To finish cropping you must click the crop button and then go back to library view and your cropped picture will be there.
    3.You want to use Photoshop or another graphic program to edit a picture in your iPhoto library.
    You can open up prefs for iPhoto and choose "when double clicking on
    photo ..do" choose "other" and select Photoshop. Now you can edit all
    pictures in your iPhoto library in PhotoShop by double clicking. If you save the photo with the same name and as a flattened file it will be saved right into iPhoto and you will see the changes. If you don't want to save it into iPhoto then do a "save as" and save to the desktop. You will then have the original photo still in iPhoto and your new edited photo on the desktop.
    Or, with iPhoto open, you can drag a picture from the library window
    to your desktop (you see a + sign on the pic you are dragging). You now
    have two of the same picture, one in the iPhoto library and one on your desktop. You can open up the one on your desktop in any graphic program and work on it. The one in iPhoto stays the same. You can also share/export the picture/pictures to your desktop or folder to work on them or do batch processing, etc. You will still have the originals in your iPhoto Library.
    Or, you can open up the ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library/folders and option drag any
    picture out of the folder to your desktop. Notice that you will see a plus sign while dragging the photo. This is copying the file to your desktop
    I would advise anyone not to do this as they might forget to use the option key and drag the photo out. Next time you open iPhoto the photo will be missing.

    Don't tamper with files in the iPhoto library folder
    About the iPhoto Library folder
    Don't forget that in Library view you can Control click on any picture and get a contextual menu with many options. One is to revert to original.
    Now to get to your next problem...do a "get info" on your iPhoto Library folder.
    Get info on the iPhoto Library folder
    Make sure the owner is you and you have read/write" permission. If not, click the lock to unlock and change to you as the owner with Read/write. Click the button at the bottom.

  • New Photos Don't Show On My Apple TV -- Is There a limit? An "Update" button? ...?

    I have my Apple TV 2nd gen set so that after two minutes is shows photos from my computer as screensaver.
    I have an album in iPhoto where I drag the photos I want and I've told the Apple TV to pick up those photos.  Has always worked fine.
    Recently I added some pictures to that album but they don't show on the Apple TV -- just the previous photos are on display.  Is there a limit?  There are 94 photos in that album.  Have I forgotten some sort of "update" button? ...
    All the settings both on the Apple TV and my iTunes look fine and I recently ran whatever update Apple wanted me to (I had this photo hiccup both before and after that upgrade so that ain't it).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Aperture photos don't show on iTunes synch

    Synching with iPhoto works fine, butI can't see any photos when attempting to synch to Aperture. As noted in another post, Projects don't show up. It does see smart albums, but with a zero photo count for all. Any thoughts on why? Do Aperture photos have to be managed in the library vs referenced in order to be seen and synched? [All of my photos are references to outside image files.] Does it matter that the Aperture library is maintained in a non-standard location?

    in the photos tab of the A-TV setup, there's a label near the top that says, "Sync photos from:" and a pull-down menu next to it. from here you can choose either iPhoto or Aperture. you have to have Aperture selected in order to sync them and see your albums.
    also, make sure that you've got at least Aperture 1.5, but preferably 1.5.2 and that you've got previews turned on and being generated for new albums. finally, there's also a setting in the preferences to share the previews with other iLife apps. i think iTunes needs that to be able to see/sync photos.

  • Canmera roll photos don't show

    ipad Air, newest PS Touch
    When I want to add photos from my camera roll many of the photos I have there don't show via PS Touch. Can someone explain how to make this work? It's quite annoying.
    Thanks!

    Guido,
    Thanks for the reply.
    They are photos I had taken with a Canon then loaded onto the iPad with camera attachment thing. They show in my camera role but now when using PS.I cant see them. (Some are there but not the ones I wanted.) I had already enabled the "use native viewer" and I can't see that it helped.
    Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

  • Imported Photos Don't Show

    Let me start from the beginning. I was playing around with my iPhoto library to try to get rid of duplicate photos that were just rotated. I went back and realized I deleted some photos. Yeah, dumb. I know.
    I have a backup of my library. I took the whole iPhoto Library directory on my computer and moved it to my desktop. I copied the backup of my old library into the Pictures directory on my computer. So now I have my old library showing up in iPhoto and things look fine.
    Well, there are some photos I've taken since this backup copy of iPhoto was done, so I want to put those photos into the library. I am looking at the Originals folder for these images. It doesn't matter whether I drag them or go to FILE -> IMPORT. It shows the images being imported one at time, but when it's done, I end up with blank thumbnails and blank images in iPhoto. Please see the images below.
    http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p31/theotheragentm/nopicturesiphoto.jpg
    http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p31/theotheragentm/nopictures.jpg
    I have no idea why this is happening. I've rebuilt the library and thumbnails, but that doesn't work. When I open iPhoto again it tells me the images weren't imported and to import them. When I say YES, it looks like they're being imported, but I get the same result.
    Can anyone explain this to me? It should not be a version problem with iPhoto as it has been recent that this happened and I don't believe there were any updates since. Thanks in advance for any help.

    TOAM:
    Do you have rolls activated in the View menu? Can you see the photos in the Last Rolls section of the Source pane?
    Those blank windows are indication that iPhoto has lost it's link to the files. In your case both the thumbnails and originals. If the originals can't be located then the rebuild cannot create a new thumbnail. So it looks like you'll have to start with a fresh library and import the original file from your current library as follows:
    Creating a new library while preserving the rolls from the original.
    Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
    Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
    This will create a new library with the same rolls as the original library. However dates on the rolls may be different but can be edited as you would the roll title.
    Once this is completed you can delete the Originals folder from the desktop and the iPhoto Llibrary folder. If desired, you can keep the older library folder to try other fixes on it.
    There's one way to get rid of the auto-rotated modified files. Copy the Modified version of it to the Desktop. Then open the Originals folder and locate the same files in that folder's subfolders and replace with the rotated modified version. Now go back to iPhoto and do a revert to original for those files. iPHoto will delete the modified version leaving you with the "modified original" version.

  • Portrait Photos don't show in Slideshows...

    Okay, so I was making a Slideshow to send to iDVD when I noticed that while previewing the show, none of my portrait photos were showing up. The landscapes, however, were OK. After going back to the portraits, I saw that for every single portrait, a gray box with an exclamation point took the place of the photo. I tried remaking the slideshow many times, but I always got this error. What's going on and how can I fix this?

    That is a very likely cause for the issue you're having, yes.
    Using iPhoto Diet to tamper with the iPhoto Library Folder is not a recommended activity. It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss.
    If space is an issue then the best solution is to use a firewire external HD and run your library from there.
    If you don't want - or need - version control (the ability to revert to the original image) then my best advice is to use another Photo Organiser. Version Control is at the heart of iPhoto and trying to defeat it is - as you're discovering - a risky business.
    Regards
    TD

  • Photos don't show/won't copy/show black in slide shows

    I have used iPhoto5 successfully for 2 years on my Powerbook. I accumulated over 8,000 photos so I copied the rolls onto CDs. Seemed to work but when I tried to view the copied pictures they look blank. Also, I can't view an original picture from a roll on my computer. When I click a photo from the list, it shows a blank on the screen. When I create a slide, all the pictures look black. How can I recover? My eternal gratitude to anyone with a solution.

    I am having the same problem and posted a qyery on this about a week ago. I have since noticed that the thumbnails are there in the iPhot library, but when I try to expand them to full screen since (without creating a slideshow), the screen is blank white. Not a solution, I realize, but another piece of info that I hope someone can use to find the answer.

  • Photos don't show individually. they only come up when I double click the blank box. how can I restore iPhoto?

    when I open iPhoto, the screen shows only blanc squares where the photos should appear. when I double-click on a square (titled by date taken), all pictures come up. how can I get back to seeing all individual pictures?

    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuold the thumbnails. This can take 3 or 4 goes to work

  • 'Send to iDVD" from iPhoto problems - photos don't show up properly

    Hi
    When I send photos/albums from iPhoto to iDVD using the function: Share->Send to iDVD' iDVD opens up, but the screen is blank in iDVD, the project info shows the photos are there, but there is nothing playing - just the blank screen.
    When I do the same action on our Tiger iMac it works as advertised, not so on our Leopard iMac.
    All software is up to date - iDVD 08, iPhoto 7.1.4
    Any thoughts anyone? Thanks

    Thank you. It doesn't actually "fail" in that it crashes or comes up with any error messages etc. It just doesn't show anything in the screen. I have pasted the Console entries that came up when I sent album to iDVD - can't see much evidence in there but you might?

  • IPhoto 7: Menu Selections Gray, Photos Don't Show

    Trying to install iPhoto 7 (iLife '08) on my dad's iMac G4 (1 GHz, PowerPC, 768 MB RAM, OS 10.4.11) -- ignore the computer info below as that's my own computer, not the one on which I'm trying to install iPhoto.
    According to the package and Apple's web site, iPhoto 7 should work on this computer. However, after installing and running iPhoto, the photo library doesn't open and almost all menu selections are gray. I have tried following Apple's instructions for rebuilding the library (holding down Command-Option while starting) and that does not happen. I have tried updating iPhoto 7 to 7.1.4 and the same things happen. I can select the Help menu. I can also select the Preferences menu item but the Preference panel does not open. I can quit iPhoto. That's about it.
    I tried rebuilding the old library (iPhoto 2.01) and reinstalling iPhoto 7. Nothing changed. I tried using iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the library and that made no difference. I cannot manually import photos from the old library because the menu selections don't work.
    What am I missing?

    Terence -- I really appreciate the time you're taking to try to help me.
    I upgraded iPhoto all the way to 7.1.5. Nothing changed.
    Per Apple's instructions for rebuilding the photo library, I launched iPhoto holding down the Command-Option keys. Nothing changed -- the library was not rebuilt as far as I could tell.
    I tried launching iPhoto with just the Option key pressed as you suggested. Nothing changed -- no menu.
    Every time I launch iPhoto, I get the opening splash screen that, if clicked, takes me to the iPhoto page of Apple.com.
    Could this be an operating system problem? Do I need to try to reinstall OS 10.4.x and then upgrade back to 10.4.11? I would need to do an "Archive and Install" since I would be installing an earlier version of the OS over the current, older version. If I need to do that, what issues am I facing in order to get the settings (System Preferences, etc.) back to where they are now?
