Walkman playlist feature

Once songs are added to a new playlist is there a way to render the songs and save that order permanently?
I know any active queue of songs playing can be reorganized but this does not impact the actual playlist. I even tried to add the songs to the playlist in the order I wanted to have them play but they were seemingly added in at random in no specific order.
If this is not a feature, to change the order of songs within a playlist, it should be. Was trying to use my z2 for an event and have to fall back to ipod. Thanks.

There is a little "Diskette" icon in the top row of "Play queue" window showing the tracks to be played, which I believe saves the Playlist and then allows you to play songs in the preferred order.

Since I upgraded to iTunes 11.01 the "Smart" playlists feature no longer works. I can CREATE the list but, the songs that I have played don't accumulate in the list. I haven't changed the steps that worked for me previous to the upgrade. I have no idea

Click on a station and drag to the left. The playlists sidebar will open up. Drop on the playlist you want to add to.

Default Walkman playlist lists everything, and I mean EVERYTHING

I have the latest version of Walkman installed, 8.4.A.3.1.
It's nice, but only one minor quirk.
It used to be that it showed only songs from the music folder, but now the default playlist shows every single sound file on the phone.
For example, it displays all the sound effects from one of the games installed. It's not that bad, I can listen to all the in-game music.. but it spoils the experience when I'm listening to music and the next track is suddenly the sound FX of the game.
Not sure if it's a Walkman bug or a game bug, but maybe you guys could look into it. The game is Puzzle Trooper.
Also it's nice that you can play music from a folder directly, but would it be possible to play from a main folder in the SD card?
I have a folder called Music! in the SD card, and in it are sub folders for the albums. But the folder feature only lets me play from the album folders, I want to play from the Music! folder.

Search/filtering within playlists feature removed

Hi,
Spotify updated itself yesterday to version 1.0.1.988.g8f17a348. The UI got overhauled and few features got removed but the most annoying thing about the change was the disappearance of searching/filtering within a playlist. CMD + F doesn't do anything right now. It was an essential feature used very frequently by me. What exactly was the reasoning behind removing it? Will it be brought back?

What is the thought process going on with the product and engineering team? Can they stop releasing updates to the product that lack critical functionality? This is the same terrible decision making that allowed the "Your Music" features not to exist on the iPad for a year after it was released everywhere else. What's even more frustrating is that I've now received 2-3 updates since the filter feature was removed and it's still missing! I love Spotify, but this total lack of common sense is unbelievably frustrating and deeply concerning. At this point I wouldn't be surprise if you release a new version that didn't have shuffle or just removed the ability play songs altogether. Smartwatch 3. walkman Playlist becomes empty mysteriously..

I'm using my Z3 Walkman application to transfer music to my SW 3. It works fine for some days, and suddenly music on the watch is empty and Playlist on the as well.. I wonder if this issue is belonged to Android wear update .. Did someone experienced such issue?

Undo/Redo Deleting of Playlists Feature, And More...When Were They Added?

I started "Playlist Cleaning" today, (I have over 500 p/ls), and just noticed that the iTunes 'Edit' menu now(?) includes the option to not only undo the accidental deleting of a playlist (or redo it as well), it also has the ability to undo the dragging and dropping (copying) of a song(s) into a playlist, And, go back and undo several of those tasks as well...pretty cool.
Whenever these features were added, they sure are welcome ones...But if they've been around a while and I just didn't notice them...someone please delete this post...(or not)!!!

[All Platforms][Playlists] Feature for normal user to customize playlist cover

Hello spotfiy commuity! I saw a post about this a cople of years back, but I feel like its time to revisit the subject. I have always wanted a feature that enabled me to choose a custom playlist cover photo. This would make my playlist even more personal. I always wonder why this wasn't a feature, I thought that it could be legal issues with the pictures, but just resently spotify released the "Discover weekly" that is absolutely amazing! On the playlist they use your facebook picture as the playlist cover. So it can't be legal issues? One can use anything as a facebook photo (No copy rights needed). I know this is a feature for records companys or larger playlist and so on. I can understand that its limited to partners, but I don't think it would do any harm to add this feature for regular users aswell? All I really want is an reason why this isn't a feature for normal users :)

Why did they take away the playlist feature for movies and tv shows?

The subject line pretty much sums it up but does anyone know why they took it away? It was seriously the greatest thing ever with my kid's tv shows. I could just turn on the playlist and they could watch a few episodes back to back without having to mess with the remote.

I don't think they have.
A recent software update may have reset your Settings which by default is playlists only for music.
Check AppleTV Setting menus and enable playlists for all not just music.
Let me know if you can't find the setting in the menu.

Now that I have home share my drag and drop feature doesn't work to create playlists

Now with Home Share there are two subsets of playlists. One is on the hard drive of the acutual computer where the iTunes originated. Once I am at a Home Share computer I cannot use the playlist feature. I can CREATE a playlist and name it, but the drag and drop feature does not work for songs which are not directly located on this hard drive. I can, for some reason, attach an iPod and make a list over on that, but that is all.

Because IE is running in a different user context. You cannot drag and drop anything from Explorer into a different user context. This isn't a "SharePoint" issue, as it relates to any application run as a different user.

How do i add a playlist from itunes to my ipod without having to sync any of my music.

i noticed that you can select certain playlists to sync with but i just want to add them and not erase my other music. itunes wont let me drag the playlist onto my ipod but thats really all i want to do. i am working with a pretty slow computer that crashes alot so having to put all my music back onto my ipod (50ish gbs) usually takes awhile with many attempts. please help! again i stress i do not ant to use the sync selected playlists feature. as for background i have the newest itunes and a 4th gen 64gb touch.

Do it by manually managing music. Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

IPod playlists ain't cooperatin'

I had a two year old iPod and when I would make a smart a playlist (on my iPod) and say -- sort by year, when I would view the playlist on my iPod (away from the computer) the playlist would be in the same order (sorted by year) So today, I get a brand new 60gig iPod today and make a smart playlist featuring my favorite guy, sort by year, view it on my iPod (away from the computer) and the playlist is in some wacky order known only to God. What gives! What is the point of having a playlist if I can't have it sorted by album or year or whatever? Please, I beg you, someone, help.

After you sort it the way you want in iTunes (and the songs are in the order you want in iTunes), right click (or ctrl click) the playlist's name in iTunes (under source) and go to copy to play order.
Now update your iPod with iTunes. Assuming that you are automatically updating, the songs should now be in the same order as they are on your iPod.

Ipod New Features and Functions Suggestions?

I'm sure with the continuous updates for the Ipod Software that there is a place where we can make suggestions but I can't find it? That said, I have an idea I would like to post so that someone from development could take under consideration. As well this could be a thread for other's ideas as I'm sure we all have them. Here we go:
1. Wouldn't it be great if while listening to music on your iPod using the shuffle feature, if you heard a song you like, you could press a button and have it return directly to the album from where it's located. When you have 20 - 60 GB of songs, scrolling back through menus to get to artists or songs is long and painful. This would also save serious battery time, etc.
2. How about a feature on Itunes that allows you to sort or count how many songs (and size) that you have checked versus what you don't. I have 60 gb of music but only a 20gb iPod. Currently you have to use the "Allow iPod to create a playlist" feature to select 20 GB worth of music and then edit from there.

There is a form you can use to submit suggestions for future iPods; messages submitted there will be read by the iPod engineers, while suggestions posted here may not be.

Why can I not open multiple playlists/windows in itunes? Ugh!

I have used an ipod in the past and was always editing playlists. I would open multiple windows and drag and drop between them. Now, with my iphone i would like to be able to do the same thing but apparently apple thinks this feature is useless i guess? itunes 11 has removed it? I tried "upgrading" to itunes 10 to reclaim this great and underated feature and to no avail.
It told me that my library or user something or other was created with a newer version of itunes, so now im back with the "downgrade" of itunes 11. I mean, do i need to use media monkey exclusively? And then deal with my iphone thinking its being pirated everytime i want to hook it up to my computer? This is crazy! It's no wonder people jailbreak iphones. But i shouldn't have to, and apple needs to put that simple multitasking with multiple windows/playlists feature back into itunes.
