Wall charger compatibility for

I realize there have already been a few posts about chargers already, but I have a spesific compatibility question. I have several chargers for my motorola phone, they are mini usb chargers just like what the Zen uses. I realize that creative cannot/will not verify that this will work as a charger for my zen, but I am afraid to plug it in without someone telling me that it will not distroy my Zen. So I am hoping that someone will post with their experience on this issue, or at the very least could someone point me to the power specifications for a charger that Creative supports for the zen.
Thank you,
Bric

The Motorola chargers, if they are the genuine article with the Motorola branding, will usually work on the Creative players, but the Creative chargers will not work on Motorola phones.

  • Wall charger compatibility???

I bought a generic wall charger for my 60gb ipod video.
The output of it is 11v/700mA.The company i bought it from is so horrible , that i want to make sure for myself that this charger is safe to use.
    Will this charger work safely?
It has been an unbelievable hassle to get this figured out.
I almost regret buying from a company that makes compatibility so hard to figure out. Thanks

May I ask which company you purchased the wall charger from?
I purchased my wall charger from Griffin. They make great quality products. I also like DLO.

  • Wall Charger OK for 120 GB classic?

Some time ago, I purchased a wall charger from Apple for my old shuffle (2nd gen). It's the cube charger with the folding prongs. The info on the charger gives a model number A1205 W005B050. I can't find this charger anywhere on the Apple site to check its compatibility. Does anyone know if I can use this charger for my IPod Classic 120 GB?

    Hello otter_69,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Are you talking about this?

If so, then yes you can use it to charge your iPod classic as well. In most cases, if the charger works for one iPod model, it usually works for all.

  • Is the wall charger better for the battery then using the computer?

I was looking for things for my Shuffle to add to my Christmas list when I came across this in the Apple Store. Someones review said that this item is better for the battery as when you plug it into a computer it drains the battery, then recharges it. As to this iten which charges the empty space only and does not drain the battery before recharging. Is this true? I will give points to those who can answer.

Apparently it makes no difference to the life of the battery how or how often you charge it.
I charge mine in a USB port on the external speakers I bought (iSound) and a full charge takes about 3 hours. - this is about the same as just plugging it into your USB port on your PC.
(I tend to just top up the charge after a couple of uses)
I just find it more convenient to be able to charge it without having to power up the PC everytime.

  • Searching for wall charger for use in China.

    Hi everyone.
I have been searching the Internet for a wall charger solution for use in Hong Kong (China). Does anyone have any recommendations? So far I have found these.

    Cheers!

Those should work. But, the adapter that came with your phone can run on 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz - so, all you really need is a plug adapter like this one. You can find them at Radio Shack, travel stores, etc.

I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.

Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :(

  • My iPod won't charge on a wall charger, only on the computer. I used the same cord for both though. I used to be able to charge it with a wall charger, but now suddenly I can't. I've even used other wall pieces. Nothing seems to work.

My iPod will no longer charge with a wall charger, only the computer. I know it's not becuase of the wall piece or my cord, since I also use the same cord for computer charging, and the wall piece seems to work with others devices. It worked a couple of weeks ago, then suddenly quit. I think it may be something to do with the inside of my iPod where the charger goes. I find it really inconvient to always have to use the computer to charge my iPod. I believe I have a three year warrenty on my iPod, but I wouldn't think it would cover this problem. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

  • My new charger wont work for the computer but will work in the wall charger

So recently, the charger for my Ipod touch 5th generation broke(my puppy chewed it) so I went to get a new charger. I found that the new charger was not working when i plugged it into my computer. After i returned the charger, and got one that seemed a little better, i plugged it into my computer and found that that one also didnt work. I was extremely angry and confused about why they werent working. I was wondering if the problem was my ipod or the charger or the computer. So i plugged it into a wall charger in the wall and that did work! So now im assuming its just my computer but it has always worked before when i plugged it into my computer untill the last charger i had broke. Any idea how to fix this? Or is this unfixable?

  • Will my old wall charger for Zen Vision:M will work with the (New) Z

i bought a wall charger from amazon for my Zen Vision: M 30GB, will it work with the (New)Zen? i just bought the Zen 6 GB and it doesn't comes with an adapter, pretty bad move there, well, does it has the same plug? i hope it's compatible. thanks

    sebastiankf,
That third party adapter from your Amazon link is hard wired specifically for the Vision:M and will not work with any other Creative player unless it has the same pin-outs using the same docking interface. The Creative AC-5V adapters will either have a coaxial power plug connection that will work with most of the Creative hard disk based players, except for the original NJB and Zen Micro, or a USB Mini-B plug that will work with all of the flash players that have a USB connection and the Zen Micro.

  • Where can I buy a wall charger for a third generation iPod Touch?

Does anyone know where I can buy a wall charger for a third generation iPod Touch?  I am giving this iPod to my father because I want to buy myself a fifth generation iPod Touch for my birthday.  Could I just get an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 or 4S wall charger and use that?  I used my brother's iPhone 3GS wall charger, when I was visiting him out of state, and it worked just fine.

Any wall charger with a USB port will work. You can go to Target or BestBuy and other places too. An iPhone charger is fine.

  • What do I do if the the wall charger doesn't work for the ipad2?

my ipad 2 won't charge with the wall charger. What do I do if that happens?

If it's saying 'not charging' it is likely still charging, just at less than optimum and will take much longer than normal. You can go and get a new brick at almost any retail outlet. (yours could be covered under warranty if it's not too old, but sending it off doesn't help you charge it while it's gone)
If you buy a new brick and still get the 'not charging', you can also swap out the USB cord. If you try it with multiple outlets, multiple bricks and multiple cables...you can try to reset your iPad, either power cycle it or hold down the home and sleep button until you see the apple logo.
If you reset it and have used multiple combinations of outlets and bricks and cables then it's a very good possibility that your docking port/USB port on the iPad is going bad. Which means, depending on how old it is, you can likely exchange it or send it in for replacement/repair.

  • Using wall charger for first time I get error message "charging not supported by this accessory."  Been using since December and not seen this before.

Using wall charger and am now getting error message "charging not supported by this accessory."  Have been using since December and this is first time I have encountered this.

Did you look to see if there is debris or dust causing the problem? Get a flashlight and take a look to make sure.
Is there something in the USB end of the cord perhaps?
You didn't answer this question ....Are you using the charger and cord that came with your iPad?
You could try changing cords if you have another one available to see if it is the cord. Have you tried connecting to your computer to see if you get the same message?
You could try a hard reset by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. Then try the charger again.
