Wall charger gets hot when charging macpro?

Wall charger gets hot when charging macpro?

Joe
The pwer adapter will become very warm when charging while using the computer. It will cool down considerably when the battery becomes fully charged. It happens to me as well.

  • Gets hot when charging !

I'm new to the shuffle, and having problems... is it normal the shuffle gets hot when charging?? and orange light never goes green..., it also freezes my computer... I had to remove and reinstall itunes... that will help??
    thanks

I am having the same problems and lots more. I loaded new Itunes software; loaded new software for the shuffle and changed USB ports and nothing changes. Still getting very very hot. I am thinking that sending it back for replacement is the only way to fix this. I have three 1st Gen. shuffles and they are still working fine but this 2nd Gen isn't much of an improvement; other than the physical size.

  • My iPad mini adapter gets hot when charging?

Why does my iPad mini FireWire get hot when charging?

The iPad does not have FireWire, do you mean the USB cable?  The charger and cable will get warm during charging but should not actually be hot.  If they are too hot to handle, try a different charger/cable and see if they are just as hot.
If not, take the iPad, charger and cable to an Apple store genius bar to be examined by the technicians.

My iPad wont charge when plugged into a computer, the battery isn't lasting long, and its getting hot when charging

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Bionic Droid gets hot when charging on pad

I've had my Bionic Droid for close to a year.  And I use one of the wireless charging pads by Verizon.  It recently began to get hot, the charging pad and the phone on the back.  Not just warm, but hot.  I stopped using the pad charger and went back to the plug-in charger, and it does not get hot.  Does anyone know if it would be the pad or the phone or what, that is causing the problem.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

However, from the hotness I suspect a hardware problem.

  • Nano getting hot when charging

I have a wall charger for my Nano, and everytime I use it Nano and the charger itself get so hot that it is hard to touch or pick it up. Fearing that the alarming heat might damage the battery, I decided to stop using the charger.
The puzzling part is that when I charge my Nano via my computer, it does not heat up. The Nano only heats up when I use the wall charger, and the charger heats up along with it. Is there something wrong with my Nano, or the charger I bought?
And yes, the charger and the Nano gets abnormally hot while charging - not the normal heat when you charge through an adapter.

I would suspect the charger. If it were me, I wouldn't be using it again until I got it thoroughly checked out.

  • Does MagSafe 2 T Connector get hot when charging and using at the same time (while the light still in amber) ?

    Hi,
Just want to check out with the other Apple Users here. I am using a Late 2013 rMBP, however the T Connector do get hot while I am charging and using the mac at the same time. Is this normal ? or do I have to drop by an Apple Store to check it out ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello there.
It's quite normal for the magsafe 2 connector (magnetic one) to become a bit warm while it's charging your mac. It will be warmer when your battery is low and the heat will start to dissipate as the battery charges. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Normally your magsafe can go upto 35℃ depending your surrounding temperature. Even mine does. Just remember the warmth should not be untouchable, if that is what you feel take to a apple genius bar to get it checked.
    Hope that helps.
    Thank you.

  • Charging brick hot when charging iPad 2

    I have access to an iPad 1, 2 & 3.
When charging the iPad 2, the apple brock and a third party charger both get quite hot. When charging the 1 & 3, the chargers stay cool to the touch.
Could there be a problem with the iPad 2?

It does not sound normal. I suggest yopu take it Apple and allow them to check it out.

  • IBook get hot when charging while asleep

When asleep w/lid closed and on the charger, my iBooks HD tries to spin up every minute or so. It also gets very hot on the bottom in the area of the HD, not the battery. Consequently, I have to make sure I shutdown before closing the lid if the charger is connected.
This is very inconvenient since several members of the family use the iBook and to get them all to remember to do this is impossible.
    iMac 2Ghz Core Duo, G3/BW 600Mhz, iBook G3 600Mhz, StarMax 5500 240Mhz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   WINDOWS: eMachine DT, Averatec 12" LT

A word of caution. That problem can come and go. I had this happen on my iBook and it came and went for months, gradually getting worse and better. Eventually, I took the time to fix the problem.
The most common cause for waking while the case is closed is the magnet coming loose inside the machine. The official repair process probably involves replacing the top case, but if you are able to disassemble the laptop far enough, you can solve the problem by spending $1.95 to buy a roll of double-stick scotch tape....
If memory serves, the magnet is mounted on the underside of the right handrest, near the corner, sandwiched between the battery compartment and the handrest, but I could be remembering wrong about the exact location. It's a pain in the backside to get to it, so you probably shouldn't attempt it unless you're comfortable doing some significant disassembly. If possible, you should find an actual tech to do it for you.
It should take under ten minutes for anybody who has actually cracked an iBook before.... I would not recommend this as a first repair job. It's really easy to drop screws inside your machine while removing/reinstalling the top case, and that's a pain in the you-know-what to take care of. I've actually gotten it back from repairs done by professional repair people and heard rattling, only to disassemble it and find a screw rolling around inside. When I say it's really easy to screw up and lose a screw, I mean it's -really- easy to lose a screw.
Anyway, if you do choose to get in there, there's a rectangular box that marks where the magnet is supposed to be stuck. Add a piece of double stick tape on the sticky side of the magnet, then stick it back in place, and put the thing back together....

  • Plug gets hot when charging iPad mini

Hi, I charged my new iPad mini for the 1st time today, for just over an hour. It reached 50% and the plug felt dangerously hot. Is this a fault with the charger which was supplied with the mini or the mini iPad? Has anyone else experienced this issue? Why is it happening and is it dangerous?
    Thank you

It does not sound normal. I suggest yopu take it Apple and allow them to check it out.

My iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1 become very hot when charged almost reach 100 % and will shut down itself. Then I need to off the power and let it cool down first before I can on the phone back. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks.

    Hi Limfromsi,
It is normal to an extent for the iPhone to get warm during charging. If your iPhone is currently in a case, you may want to try charging it without one and see if the issue occurs, as the design of the iPhone uses the exterior of the device as a cooling surface. For more information about iPhones and temperature, you may find the following article helpful:

If you continue to have issues with your iPhone in the default config (no case, using the included original cable and power adapter), you may want to have your phone evaluated for service. The following page may be of use:

  • Iphone get warm when charging?

so i have a agent18 case for my ihpne when i charge it gets warm is that normal?
also my wifi is on would it help if i turn the wifi off when not n use?
    thanks

Yes, it's normal for the phone to get warm when charging; too hot to touch would be a problem. Good idea to remove it from the case when charging though.
And yes, get into the habit of turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not in use, as they are major battery drainers.
    Hope this helps.
