Wall socket charging very slow

I sleep with my ipad2 last night at 1am and today wake up at 10am, my iPad is only from 25% to 75%. I used the wall socket but also use a 3rd party USB extend cable together with the apple cable because original one is too short. Notification shows charging but I don't know it takes so long.

if the charge goes back to normal after you remove the extension cable (and not all of them transmit power as well as you would think) then you may want to  look into the 'replacement' power brick. It comes with a 4 foot power cord that goes to the brick, then the usb that goes to the ipad itself.
$30 but you won't have to worry about poor charging

they  will replace my device? Is that correct?
Assuming it is in one piece and otherwise meets the conditions for an Out of Warranty replacement, yes.
    Conditions are:
Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications.  However, an iPhone that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service.

  • My iphone 4 ios 7 charge very slow .........if we charged whole night it only charged about 30 %

my iphone 4 ios 7 charge very slow .........if we charged whole night it only charged about 30 %

Do you have access to another cable to try that is known good to rule out a problem with the existing cable?
If no change when using a known good cable, the iPhone has a hardware problem.

Let me get this straight. You have a brand new Apple wall charger. It does not work at home but it works fine at the store? Does it work at a neighbor's house?
Sounds like you need to call an electrician to inspect your outlets at home.

  • T61 charging very slow, 1% per hour.

I thought that my T61 was not charging, but it seems like it just charges very slow. Approximately 1 % per hour. Any ideas?

Your 90 w adapter is broken, the 65 w is not suitable for your machine, if you have the nvidia GPU. There is no sufficient power to charge your battery from the 65 w adapter.

  • My ipad 2 charging very slow

My ipad2 very slow charging when it plug in it say "not charging" but it charge very slowly

Are you charging it plugged into the wall with its charger or plugged into USB?
If plugged into the wall, are you using an iPad charger or could you be using an iPhone charger? They are different strengths and using an iPhone charger will show up as not charging. The same with USB. Most USB ports don't put out enough power for the iPad so it trickle charges

  • Ipad Mini Charging Very Slow

    ***NEW PROBLEM***
My Ipad Mini (which I got in December) is now charging super slow (which I mean that's taken 3 hours or more) to get from 82% to 97% usually it takes like 1 hour depending on how low it is.
NOw this is very frusting considering how much the ipad was (I got it for a christmas present) but I know how much it was. This is ridicously every since the new update to IOS 6.1.2
THIS IS NOT COOL. If this is how apple is going to run, I will never purchese anything from Apple again.
    Get your act together.
    Sinceraly:
    Upset Apple Custmer.

Try doing a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. See if that helps. If not, make an appointment at your local apple store and have them take a look.
Also, was that other charger an iPad charger? it's easy to try to use iPhone chargers with ipads, and while they do kinda work, they do not totally work since the iPad wants twice as much power as the iPhone charger puts out.
it will always be slow to charge on a computer. Your average USB puts out half as much power as the iPad wants.
Also, if you have a different cord, try swapping that out as well.
If an iPad wont' charge it's usually one of 4 things. Bad outlet, bad cable, bad power brick.
Swap those out and either confirm or rule then out, and it leaves the port on your iPad. And if it's that then it's time to take your device to the apple store and have them check it out.

  • Socket communication very slow on Mac OS X 10.6

    Hi everybody,
I'm using a socket based communication in an application and in Mac OS 10.5 everything works quick and flawless using XCode 3.1.4.
In Mac OS 10. 6, using XCode 3.2.4, I set the Mac OS X 10.6 SDK, I recompiled the app. but the responsiveness of the app is terrible slow. The GUI itself runs OK but any socket related action is painfully slow (sometimes connection timeout).
The socket communication is implemented using standard CFSocket classes.
Is this a XCode migration issue from 3.1 to 3.2 or a Mac OS 10.6 related one (I've seen lots of complains on networking issues)?
    Thank you very much,

Thank you very much for the info but why it worked (and really fast) on 10.5. I also wonder why I didn't run into TCP_NODELAY problem there ? My TCP buffer size is 1K and I'm using the same testing environment.
Of course there is much more to it than some init parameters but still, what could be so different on 10.6 ? And I tried already the sysctl.conf TCP_NODELAY setting but no effect.

  • Battery Charge Very Slow

    Hi there,
I've just purchased a new MacBook Pro. Yesterday I used up the
power in the battery (down to about 10%). Then I plug in the AC
Adapter, shutdown the machine, and wait for a whole night.
When I wake up, the battery icon shows it is "17%", which means
it only goes up for 7%. I kept the AC plugged in for one day,
and now the battery is 53% charged. I do not know if the battery
is broken and need to be exchanged.
Any suggestions? Thank you very much!
    Regards,
    Stan

Then maybe you should try reseting the System Management Controller…

  • Battery charging very slow, drain very fast

    Hi there,
I'm Chi. I'm a totally new Macer but I do enjoy this wonderful new world.
In fact, I've purchased a brand new Macbook Pro on 10-25-2008 from one of Apple's authorized reseller in Ha Noi, Viet Nam. (The iShop store at http://www.mac4vn.com/) . This is a 15 inch MBP with 2,53 GHz.
Everything is OK and i'm quite contented with the product except for the battery life. It's incredibly sort: My MBP just works about 2,5 hours running simple task (like web browsing or office application, even sleep) and even more short if I use it for my design work (using Adobe Create Suite). I always run it in the Better Battery life setting. In the other hand, the charging time (from 0% to 100% battery) is too long, usually about 4-5 hours. This is very inconvenient to me.
So what is the problem with my battery? Is it a defective one? And what can I do about it? Some of you suggested calling Apple for a replacement, but I wonder if it's possible here in VietNam.
    Looking forward to your respond.
    Best regards,
    Chi.

Keep in mind that Apple does not manufacture the batteries--it purchases them from a battery specialist. Sometimes something goes wrong in the battery manufacturing process and there will be some that are defective. However, Apple has a record of replacing faulty batteries and even setting up a recall if necessary. My iBook battery was working perfectly and never got hot, but Apple still recalled it and gave me a free replacement just because it had a serial number that was in a group that was known to have some overheating issues. Apple has had a number of battery programs for replacing defective batteries.
Here is one more article you might find interesting, as it gives some descriptions of what would be considered a faulty battery:
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
I'm sure you have read of battery problems with all makes and models of computers. I think there are just some intrinsic difficulties with the battery manufacturing process, and when something goes wrong, it may not be discovered until there are thousands--maybe millions--out in the world. It is to Apple's credit that they recognize that this happens, and at least in the US, have been willing to replace any batteries that do not measure up to their high standards.
I am hoping that your reseller will acknowledge that the battery is bad and give you a replacement. If not, try to contact Apple directly and see what they will do for you.
    Good luck!

  • My iphone 5s charges very slow

I have iphone 5s unlocked usa activated two days ago..it takes too long to get charge
It takes 2.5 hours to charge upto 80% ...need help regarding this problem

    Hello AAK100,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching all the applications on your iPhone:
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting all the apps, I recommend restarting your iPhone and then resetting if it's still not working:
    Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
You can find the full article here:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, the last thing I recommend is backing up and restoring your iPhone:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • Iphone 4 will only charge from computer and wall socket?

Im having trouble with my iphone 4 not charging/syncing with anything other than my computer by usb or the wall socket charger.  It used to sync with no problems before using my cars usb and on my hifi dock (onkyo), but no more!  Im sure this is since the last update.  Ive tried reseting and restore, but doesnt seem to make a difference.  Can anyone help?  Its really starting to annoy me now!

This is really upsetting me as I have spent a fortune on Apple products over the years and the accessories that are "made for ipod and iphone" over the years and now those are useless with the device I use the most.  If this doesnt get sorted, I'll be going to another brand.
That is just illogical and unintelligent.  Stop whining.  And while you're at it... leave.  No one here cares about which product you go with.

An update for what?  Your logic processor?  Not gonna happen.  Only YOU can update that.
Clean the dock connector on the device, it is likely dirty or full of lint.

Jul 27, 2012 2:50 PM (in response to Adirondack Moose)
Finally - I have a fix. It was related to address book problems.
    The solution is highlighted here:
         https://discussions.apple.com/message/19037910#19037910
*** Be warned though - make sure you already have contacts up in iCloud before doing this:
    1. Bring up System Preferences, go to iCloud and uncheck "Contacts"
    2. You need to remove the folder /Users/<your_name>/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
If you have issues removing, quit Mail and Contacts
If you don't have contacts in iCloud, try renaming the folder
    3. Reboot the machine
    4. Bring up System Preferences, go to iCloud and now check "Contacts"
Now when you bring up Contacts, it should sync with iCloud, Mail and Messages will work fine.

  • My iPad 2 is charging EXTREMELY slow!

When I see extremely slow I mean it, no exaggeration..
I had dropped my iPad and the screen cracked but I've noticed that the batteries were draining faster than usual and charging very slow.
I left it charging over night (around 8 hrs) and it had only charged 25%.
Did I beak something inside when I dropped the iPad or does the batteries just need to be replaced??

eitehr is possible. You could have jarred something loose when you dropped it. or it could just be a coincidence.
What I would do, while it functions, do a full backup of your data or get anything off it you just can't lose. You then face the choice of buying an out of warranty replacement, which starts at 249 for an iPad 2. Or buy yourself a newer model.
It's probably just a matter of time before it dies totally
