Wallpaper behind home screen?

Are you supposed to be able to see the wallpaper behind the widgets on the home screen or should it always be just black?

Thanks I was a little surprised they didn't include that but I just wanted to make sure I didn't have a glitch in my Phone. I wish they showed A list of the most popular feed back topics on that site so you could see how many people are actually supporting the different upgrade ideas.

The wallpaper and home screen back ground picture is automatically resetting to un-know pictures. I can save the on phone pics as the back ground then after several hours it changes to other picture not taken by me.

  • Hoe can I increase choices for wallpaper and home screen?

What happened to the cool B&W choices?  What happened to easy access to my pics in iCloud and Dropbox as wallpaper and home screen choices?

Are you sure you have the 3GS and not the 3G. The problem you are describing sounds like you have a 3G only.

  • Wallpaper on Home Screen

Recently saw a screen capture of an iPhone home screen with a wallpaper image behind the home screen icons. How do you do this (without jailbreaking)?

No, I read your post, I just assumed you had not read the manual and did not know how to set wallpaper and that you could only change it in that one place. I assumed incorrectly apparently. But I also knew, even though I don't use Windows, that you could not sync two iPhones (or iPods) simultaneously, which you did not, and I knew how to use Google to search for a dual charger, which you apparently cannot do either. In fact, you could have done a search here on wallpaper.
F for the lack of knowledge, laziness and rudeness. Embarrassing that you are from my birth state.

  • The iPhone update 8.3 (12F70) is making my home screen wallpapers darker than the picture itself. Even if I set the same picture as home and lock screen wallpaper, the home screen image is noticeably darker. How can I change this?

Is anyone else noticing the same issue?
I'm really unhappy with the upgrade, the darker home screen images alters the coloring and detracts from the overall "light" feeling.

Apparently it's been an issue since 7.1, according to this: http://forums.imore.com/ask-question/282076-black-tint-across-top-my-lock-screen -wallpaper.html
The iPhone 6 is my first iPhone so I've never used iOS 7 before. Can anybody who has provide more info on this?

  • Separate wallpaper and home screen background?

I was wondering if it is possible to have the lockscreen background and the home screen wallpaper set as separate images, or if it is possible to switch them separately? I currently have 2 separate images from when I switched my phone from my 3G, but I want to change the lockscreen wallpaper while keeping the bubble background on my home screen.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Find an image you want to use then tap the icon in the lower left of the window. This brings up the options. Chose wallpaper then choose lock screen.

  • Odd Screen wallpaper behind full screen app

My daughter showed me an odd behavior on her MacBook Pro.  When she starts/stops iTunes (most noticeable) and other apps that are in full screen mode, the screen slides over an old wallpaper that isn't visible otherwise. It's not the current wallpaper.  When I hook up an external monitor, it doesn't show up on either screen.  But when you open the full screen app the second monitor shows the mystery wallpaper.  Ctrl-click on the screen doesn't bring up the context menu that would let me change the wallpaper.  If the change-wallpaper panel is already open when you start the full-screen app, it and the wallpaper it was on slide off the screen.   Anyone know how to remove /change the image behind the full screen app transition?

The legacy android viewer didn't support inline videos so they always played full screen. The native Android viewer properly supports inline and full screen. If you want the video to play full screen you have to explicitly set that option in the folio overlay panel on your video overlays.
See Digital Publishing Suite Help | Video overlays for more details on how to use the video overlays panel to set this option.

  • My iPad2 suddenly displays only the wallpaper on home screen.

A hard reset gives me all my apps back, but what can I do to prevent this from happening repeatedly?  iOS & apps are updated.

Is this the reset you re doing?  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Why cant I set a wallpaper to menu screen?

Itunes says I have the newest available software(4.2.1) for my iPod touch,
but I cant set a wallpaper to home screen, or view open apps, or activate "negative" color view.
What is this? I have deleted all data on my iPod, and reinstalled software, but its still the same problem...

I do not believe that. The 2G and 3G iPod look identical on the outside.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • Get rid of intrusive HUGE and UGLY dark bands behind HUGE icons on Home Screen

How do I get rid of the intrusive, huge and ugly dark bands behind the huge icons, and reduce the size of the icons on the Home Screen?
On my 8320 I can use pictures of my kids for wallpaper. On the 8900 they have wasted half of the beautiful screen with these huge ugly icons and dark bands - cuts right through two of my kids eyes and two of my kids mouths and below.
What were they thinking? They advertise the 8900 (and the 8520) by emphasizing a full screen picture - but when you actulally buy the phones, they have inserted these cursed screenscape hogs. Any firmware fixes yet? Or, now that Nokia has released their E71 that not only handles email as well as my BB, but also allows me to create and edit docx, should I abandon the 8900 as a lost cause and buy the E71? And, as long as we are discussing RIM's myopic short sightedness, why no 3G on this device?
Please hurry, my buyers remorse clock is ticking and I need to send this thing back to the carrier if it can't be fixed.
    Thanks in advance.

Hello, to change the size (I have six icons per row not five) go to options>advanced options>accessability and change the amount on the grid. Default 6x6, then 4x4 3x3 etc., you can also change the colours. Hope I`m not barking up the wrong tree but have bbn of help! Regards Kew

  • IPod Touch 2gen iOS 4 Can't change home screen wallpaper

I just updated my iPod Touch 2 generation to iOS 4 and I was excited about changing the home screen wallpaper, but when i went to change it, that option wasn't there. Is there some reason this feature is not available on the iPod Touch (or mine at least)? I am confused and disappointed..

You never could change the background... At least, I never could!
You can change the picture for the "home" screen, unless I'm mistaken. This is the screen you see when you click on the iPod waking it from stand-by. You'll see the "slide to unlock" slider, and your image in the background, but that's it!
Now, here's the "thing"... Granted, I've not been using it for a couple of months, so correct me if I'm wrong. Behind all the icons, the background had the typical "space" image. Dark, with red gassy clusters and stars... The same default image from OS X. Or, maybe I'm going crazy, and it's always been solid black.
After I ran the update, I did the same thing as everyone else... Tried to set my background, only to find it isn't supported on the 2g. I was surprised to find it solid black though. Were did my star picture go?
So, please let me know if I'm imagining the old starry background was there, or if the update has sucked it away to blackness.
(Otherwise, folders are good... That is all.)

  • Why can't iPod touch 2G use home screen background wallpaper?

It really didn't make any sense. Everyone wants to update their iPod touch to iOS 4 just because they want to use Multitasking and home screen wallpaper. But Apple just don't let all the iPod touch 2G users use these features. I know that the touch 2G hardware is not powerful enough for the multitasking ability and it's reasonable, but just why can't we just replace the home screen background by a picture?

Reports have quoted that Steve Jobs said that icon performance was degraded too badly with wallpaper for Apple to feel comfortable including that feature.

  • Home Screen Wallpaper

Is it possible to use the feature for customized home screen wallpaper? My daughter has iPhone 3GS and it works for her, I have 3G and can't seem to use that feature after updating to OS 4.0.2. Am I doing something wrong or is that feature not available on my phone?

Am I doing something wrong or is that feature not available on my phone?
Sorry, not available on the 3G.

  • When setting photo as lock screen/home screen wallpaper, quality is reduced

When setting a photo as the wallpaper for my lock screen/home screen the photo quality is dramatically reduced. This appears to be an issue since updating to iOS 8, as I have not changed my home screen wallpaper yet since updating, and when setting the same photo as my lock screen now, there is a noticeable difference. This only seems to be a problem when using landscape photo. Anyone else had this problem?

    Hi Mara,
This is apparently a bug in iOS 7. Take a look at the posts to the right under "More Like This". Several users have come up with creative workarounds for this. Hopefully it will be fixed soon in an upcoming release!

  • I can't change my iPad Mini home screen wallpaper at all, not even a default. I can't change my lock screen either. Help! I'd rather not waste my time bothering with computer programs so please give me a SIMPLE solution if you can.

How do I change my seemingly unfixable iPad Mini Home Screen and Lock Screen wallpapers?

I tried that and that is what initially started this. I wanted a new wallpaper for my home screen and it didn't work so I reset it. The wallpaper is now zoomed in, I can't zoom it back out, and I can't change it to the new one I want. Plus, recently I had reset it and it stayed at the Appe logo and didn't move and I got scared that I'd never be able to use it again, I tried random things and it turned on again. I think I was just lucky so I don't want it to happen again. And yes I did look up how to fix it but it was really complicated so I just did what I mentioned.
