Wallpaper compatibility

Question

Probably an easy one for everyone but me. I have a problem getting wall papers to appear for selection.
Pictures I take are available as wallpapers, as are some that I upload to my phone, but not all, even when they are in the same folder. Photo viewer doesn't show them either but if I use file manager to select them they display ok.
So the question is what do I have to do to get these pictures I have put on my phone available as wallpapers and viewable inas photos? Do they have to be a certain size or format or in a particualr directory or something else?

The size or format could affect it, most jpeg and png files will work, but best with a 640x320 aspect ratio. I've found some grat wallpapers that I use at Tehkseven

and as for your own pictures, try editing one in Paint on Windows pc, hust resize to the correct aspect ratio
