Wallpaper flashes and windows expand whenever iTunes changes track.

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone else is facing this and has a solution: basically my wallpaper image flashes and any windows I have minimized to the Dock expand whenever iTunes changes tracks. It's not a huge problem, but it can be a bit of a pain (there, it just happened again, I had to minize stuff in order to get back to this window). Any thoughts? Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Give this a try guys. Found it while searching:
Close iTunes, open Terminal and write these two lines
defaults delete com.apple.dock itunes-notifications
defaults delete com.apple.dock notification-always-show-image;killall Dock
Seems to have fixed it for me!

HT203164 help! i am using itunes 10.6.1.7 and windows vista 64. itunes will no longer burn cds. i have searched online and tried all i saw that could possibly fix it and it is still not working.

i have tried:
reloading itunes
unchecking 'write'
removing lower filters in regedit
ensuring i had the correct 'gear' info in the upper filters in regedit
removing 'gear' from regedit, system32
reloading updated version of 'gear'
cleaning my registery
deleting itunes
cleaning registry again
reloading itunes
cleaning registry again
i still cannot burn cd. t i can import and play cds in itunes and i can watch dvds. itunes will just not burn to blank cds, and i have tried sever new blank cds, each is not recognized.
i do not know what else to do, i have searched the internet and whatever i saw doable i tried.
when i check the cd drive in itunes i had gotten a 4220 error, cnet advised to download a free error fixer, however, this error fixer gave me and enduser message, so that didn't work.
the diagnostic for the cd burner read that i had to put in a formatted disc with content so i did and there are the results of that were that it read the cd and that the 4220 errir code was encountered last time there was an attempt to burn.
and 'could not open cd handler 32. there is a problem with the installation of the drive in windows or the drive contains a copyprotected cd.
the above is not the case as it also popped up for me to import cd to itunes.
i tried to copy and past the entire contents here but it would not allow me to paste.
please help!

I too have only recently encountered this problem. I have been able to burn disks before but it keeps making all these weird sounds. It might be a hardware problem but the fact that everything else that uses a disk works I doubt it.

Mac and Windows on same iTunes Library? NAS?

I moved my mac iTunes library to a NAS, hoping that all machines in the house (Mac and Windows) could access and update the library (but not at the same time because of file locking). So I moved the .itl and .xml files over to the NAS as well but some machines can only see parts of the library.
Is this not a supported configuration? How could I set up such a sharing library with update capability? Thanks in advance.

You don't need any software installed on the windows PC. Just plug it into the Ethernet port on the router to the Ethernet port on the NIC card. If you want the Fios software installed go to activatemyfios.verizon.net and click configure another computer and enter your fios user name and password. If you are having connection problems go to verizon.com/connectionwizard and install that software.

Itunes change track

Hi!
I recently have noticed that my iTunes is very slow when I change tracks, and first press play.
My setup is Itunes 10.2.2.12 on Windows 7 x64.
My music is placed on a NAS with gigabit connection.
If I browse or play the songs from another music player the change of track is quick. But with iTunes each change of track takes up to 10 seconds. On the NAS drive I have about 15000 songs, mostly ripped from CD some purchased from itunes store.
I have tried replacing the itunes computer, but there was no difference in the time it takes to change tracks.

I suspect iTunes is revealing "corrections" made by Windows Media Player. If so the damage is done and you'll probably find other tracks have been affected over time.
See my post on Getting iTunes & Windows Media Player to play nicely. Most importantly uncheck the WMP options as displayed in the final image.

ITunes changes track order when burning discs

When burning a playlist to disc iTunes changes the track order. I want the disc to have the same track order as my playlist. How do I do that?

Nope, when I put it in my car CD player the tracks are randomized. On the playlist I can put the tracks in the order that I wanted them in and when I burn them iTunes randomizes the order on the cd. I've burned it 4 more times and each time the tracks have been randomized. This is also with a cd that I bought from the ITS. So the playlist is in track order and I even checked the tags and the numbers are in the correct order.

Flash and Windows Media

I'll start off by saying I'd much rather use flash video, but
the client isn't allowing that option.
I have a training page with Flash on the left and a windows
media screen on the right.
The page is set so they look like one seemless scene. The
video plays and then needs
to be able to play an action in the flash side when it
finishes playing the video. Then once the
action is taken by the enduser in flash then the next video
plays. This would all be sooo simple
if I could use flv but I can't. Any ideas?

Two places to check:
In your Utilities folder, go to Audio MIDI Setup.app. Select it. When the panel opens make sure your Output settings are: Line Out - 44100 mhz, 16 bit 2 channel. Also, make sure the volume slides are to the far right.
Restart the computer.
If no change, go to your System Preferences>Sound>Output. Make sure Line Out is selected, again slider to the far right.
As an aside, if you recently upgraded to 10.4.8, make sure you "repaired permissions" using Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.

Text disappear after flash and windows update

Hi,
I'm living a strange exprerience from the last windows software update (after i update even flash, to ensure that there was not a compatibility problem) , i can't display some fonts if I choose the option "anti-alias for reliability" , for example for the joeHand 2 , but the text came out again if I choose "bitmap" or "use device fonts" as display option.
This seams a problem with this particular font, but appears only after an automatic windows update, and is not valid for every font.
Someone resolve/had a similar problem?

WIndows hide whenever I change to another app

Hey guys, I don't know if I changed with a setting or something, but something strange is happening. When I click on an open application in the dock to start working on it, the rest of the open windows that are open hide themselves. If I click on them, they reappear, but the window I just clicked on hides itself as well.
So only one program can be seen at a time, anyone have an idea as to why this might be happening?

It is possible that a hidden "Dock" setting has become enabled - if so, it wouldn't have happened by accident because there is no GUI for that setting in OS X, however some third-party software could have been responsible.
If this behaviour only happens when switching applications via the "Dock", and not when using "Cmd-Tab" or the "Finder", etc., try opening "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "Terminal.app" and entering these commands:<pre>defaults delete com.apple.dock single-app
osascript -e 'tell application "Dock" to quit'</pre>

Can I sync one iPhone via two computers (MacBook and Windows XP) using iTunes?

My idea is the following:
Sync one iPhone using iTunes installed on two computers:

Can I do this?
How would I have to do the set-up?

You can't. You can only sync with one library at a time. I is possible, though not recommended, to sync contacts with one computer and media with another. There is no way to sync contacts with more than one computer.
The best idea would be to sync it with your MacBook and the cloud, and sync Outlook on the PC with the cloud.
Since iCloud requires Windows 7, you would probably be best to sync contacts and calendars with Google or Yahoo.

HT1386 I have IPod touch running iOS 5.1.1 and Windows 7 with iTunes 11.0.4.4. When I connect the IPod to my PC, iTunes recognizes it but before synching can get very far, it is interrupted by "charging not supported on this acc." Now what to do?

I'm having trouble with the wi-fi synch for iTunes and would be happy if I could just synch by the USB cable. With the new iOS, the connection to iTunes seems to get broken every time the dreaded "charging not supported with this accessory" appears, which is only a few seconds into the synch. Since my PC is obviously not an Apple brand charger, IPod won't stop producing this message. Using the Dismiss button doesn't resolve the issue because synch has already stopped. It looks like the hardwire to PC option is now dead.

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

ITunes changes track lenght times!

Hi!
I noticed sometimes when I'm playing songs on my iPod that the songs skips the final seconds, I check the lenght of the song and it is less than on the cd or the original track lenght when i first played it, but... when I check the same song on iTunes I found that the lenght is the same as on my ipod, the issue is that when i double click this "altered" song it turns out that the song plays normally and the playback time are restored to the original lenght.
Is there a way to avoid this track lenght changes?

ITunes Change Track Time

Hello,
I first noticed on my ipod that some songs suddenly stopped playing, and I saw that the elapsed time was 0:00 even when the song wasn't finished playing at all, then on iTunes I found that the song had the same time as on the iPod but when I double clicked it, it changed the track time to the real track time.
What is generating this? Is it possible to fix it?

Have you tried to just simply enable the Crossfade setting on your Nano?
To turn on crossfading:
1 From the Home screen, tap Settings.
2 Tap Music, and then tap Off next to Audio Crossfade.

Itunes - Changing track location via COM interface

Hi,
I transfered from xp to vista with subsequent re-organization of all itunes libraries where I noticed that the old library had already a lot of broken links.
I wrote a VBA program to intelligently find the new location for broken links, however, I cannot get that information back into itunes as the Location property of IITFileOrCDTrack is read-only.
Has anyone found out how to do that conveniently without adding each file, and deleting the old library information (which involves also updating playlists etc) - a lot of hassle which is not really required?
Anyway, does anybody know why Location is read-only?
