Wallpaper, kbfx menu buttons, color scheme

Over time I've been dabbling a bit with my arch install and recently started playing with apearence. Thought I would share a few of my graphics for kde. Although, my tastes might be a little weird compared to most!
Here is my wallpaper, basically I just modified it from an old arch wallpaper...
http://my.opera.com/allisonleigh/albums … re=3262852
here is a color scheme and preview for kde, and some kbfx menu buttons I made using the arch logo, although one set of buttons uses the Chinese version of the word start, but you could easily modify them. The color scheme along with smi-transparency on menus, I think looks totally awsome over the wallpaper..
http://my.opera.com/allisonleigh/blog/2 … n-computer
I have a bunch of icons I made, but im too far away from having a full set, and they're kind of geared twards a Chinese system.
I thought about sharing some of my helper scripts I made, but even though they make my life easier, I decided they're too weird for sharing...

The icons on top of your screenshot (except the firefox one) are made by you?
I like them, kinda clean... Why not release them on kde-look? There are a lot of "unfinished" icon themes available (just in the spirit of ESR) on this site.
Well, the color scheme is indeed a little bit weird reminds me of my old commodore times somehow, but you could also share your kbfx buttons on kde-look, i bet there will be some chinese archers who like them...

  • Dreamweaver CSS div background color doesn't match .png menu button color on PC

    Hello,
I created a menu with buttons the same background color (CSS) as the background color on my CSS template. However, for some reason, the colors don't look the same on mac and a pc. The background on the menu buttons that I created (.png) match the css template div background on a mac. But, when the site displays on a pc, the menu background color from the css template is darker than the .png background color, even though the color code is the exact same. On a mac, the .png background color matches the css div template color exactly. Anyone know what is going on or how to fix?
    I appreciate any assistance!

Windows renders images a tad darker.  To compensate, use Gamma Correction in Photoshop.

  • How do I change a menu button color when a section is complete

I have created a selection screen (menu) that lets participants pick how they want to move through a module: menu item 1, menu item 2, menu item 3, and menu item 4. Is there a way to change the color of a menu item or add a check mark next to a menu item when you have completed a section so a user can check their progress in the menu and know what they have already done. An explanation of how to do so would be very much appreciated. Thanks! (I am using Captivate 7)

Something like I show in this blog post:
Captivate 8 - First Adventures - Captivate blog
The explanation there is for Captivate 8 and with Shared actions. I have explained this multiple times, also in a webinar: Shapes « Rapid eLearning | Adobe Captivate Blog has the link to that webinar.
And several threads in this forum have a short explanation as well. First choice is: do you want to allow the user to visit the same menu item more than once?
You will have to put the check marks in place, but make them hidden (Properties panel). If you want a change in color, you can either replace the menu item (don't know how it looks) by another one with another color, or cover the menu item with a shape that has another color, or apply a Basic effect to it. All that can be done with the same advanced action (standard) that has the Jump to... statement. You can even use Shared Actions in this case, because you don't need a variable.
Problem with this first approach is that for slow bandwidth (and especially for HTML output) the user can sometimes see already very shortly the changes before the Jump action.  And if there are different slides in the menu, you want perhaps to be sure that they visited all the slides. If that is the case, let me know and I'll explain a more complicated solution that will not present the disadvantages of this first solution, that is the easiest one.

  • Help/Tutorial getting menu button colors to behave right?

I seem to have managed to get things pretty messed up with my titles and the colors which will help a viewer know which selection they're on and may click.
I hit "restore defaults" but that didn't help.
I think that I am confused as to how to set the normal, hover and click state for links. can anyone nutshell it for me or point me to a tutorial?

  • Spry vertical menu button shows background color instead of image in preview

Hello All, I'm a newbie (to the forum and Dreamweaver) so my apologies if my question is not in good form.  I've searched for this issue but cannot seem to find the exact problem I have.
I've created a website (my first) and used the spry menu bar.  It works well using the default blue and grey colors for button and hover.  However, I decided I want to spruce it up a little and change the buttons to use a background image (rainbow pattern) instead of background color.  I internet researched this for some time and watched all the youtube videos people have posted for this process and editing the spry vertical menu bar CSS.  Using the .a and hover lines from the CSS, I was able to add my background .jpg image file.  In the design view, the button look exactly how I want them to.  However, when I attempt to preview in IE, Chrome, or FF, the buttons still have the default colors and no image.  I've gone back and deleted the default blue and grey, but then the preview just shows dark grey and white for the buttoms.  is there something that I am overlooking that would cause the background color to show instead of the image I have attached to the buttons.  I can't figure out why it looks right in DW but not in preview.
BTW, I'm editing a template file and all the pages are updated with the new image buttons, but none of the pages show correctly in preview.
    Thanks

    Point taken :-)

  • Can you change the color of menu buttons dynamically?

    Post Author: DanH
CA Forum: Xcelsius and Live Office
    Hello, Newbie Here,
Built my first Xcelsious front end and linked to two personnel databases.  Everything works just fine.  The outputs on this particular visualization generate completion statistics for 12 divisions and a 13th for combined.  Don't know enough about the software yet to know whether I can make the menu buttons appear in red for those that have not accomplished a 100% compliance to the task being tracked?  This would make it visually easier for upper management to click directly on the division menu buttons in red, rather than have to click on all of them to see which divisions haven't achieved completion.  Also, wouldn't hurt to be able to turn the other menu buttons green for those that have completed.  Any ideas are appreciated, really scratching my head at the moment.
    Thanx,
    Dan

  • Import color schemes to Excel 2010

    Hi, Everyone
I really need your help for Excel 2010.
For excel 2003, when I import color scheme from another excel: on the menu bar>tools>options>color
tab in the "copy color from" box, click the down arrow and select the workbook which contains the color schemes
Then I can find and use the color imported.
For 2010, Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options. Click on Save.
Under 'Preserve Visual Appearance of the workbook'
    Click on Colors
Click on 'dropdown box' of Copy Colors from and select the file I want to copy the colors from and click OK.
Click OK to close the Excel Options dialog box.
In Excel 2010, I cann't find the color imported in the color palette, nor use it of cause.
If you have any idea, please don't hesitate put your answers, I really need the solution for it. Thanks in advanced

    Hi,
I tried the following and it worked!
To copy your existing colour palette to a document or template in Excel 2010:
    <dir>
Open the file (containing the existing colour palette to copy) with version Excel 2010
    Go to tab "Page Layout"
Click on the Icon "Themes" (Themes menu)
Go to the bottom page and click "Save current Theme..."
Give a name with extension *.thmx (e.g. "mycolours.thmx")
The theme will be available to use and copy in other existing Excel documents repeating the actions described.
For new documents the recommendation is to create a workbook or a template.
    </dir>

Putting your page through the html validator bought up a few errors
    http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.preferreddigitalprints.com%2F
The most important error is that the page isn't using a doctype.  This could account for the bugginess of the page.  A page without a doctype will render CSS in quirks mode and not display the page as intended in some browsers.
Please insert a doctype at the top of the document, then put the page through the validator again to see what errors remain, fix those, and hopefully the page will load OK.  I didn't look at the navbar images, but make sure that they are optimized for the web, because that can also cause a slow down on loading them.
I recommend using the transitional doctype.

  • Customizing Appearance Available Window Themes/Color Schemes?

    *_<Customizing Appearance> Available Window Themes/Color Schemes?_*
I'm planning to get a MacBook Pro very soon. I have never used Mac OS, and I would like to know if it is possible to select custom window themes/color schemes?
*I'm an old WinXP Vet, and I would very much miss the ability to use custom coloring for windows and/or menu bars.*
Here is an example scheme for WinXP I currently use:
*My eyes get less tired when I have a mainly black/dark background, and light buttons/text.*
I would appreciate anyone with information.

Customizations/themes for Leopard are at the moment I think thin on the ground. For Tiger there are plenty. Some people though are reluctant to install them. I used a product called Shapeshifter while on Tiger and never had an issue with it though many did. The have not yet updated for 10.5

  • Buttons Color Changed

This may sound like I don't understand button states or whatever, but every time I convert an image to a button and preview the menu the button isn't the color I created it. I open the menu in Photoshop and there are no layers that should be causing this. What is Encore CS3 doing to buttons and how do I edit or stop it? All I want is to have the buttons show up the color I create them not some hue shift that ruins my color scheme.

    Hi Ruud,
Yes, i have no doubt watching the tutorial movie would help.
If fact, last night before posting this topic to the forum I did a search and came up with the topic with the link to the movie,
but after downloading the movie Windows Media Player says it is missing an audio codec it needs to play the movie and when clicking the Web Help button the page only tells me WMP is having a problem with the file (not all that helpful).
I thought I'd import it into Premiere but it seems to be an unsupported format.
So for the time being, I'm a bit stuck with the file.
I have a month's membership with Lynda.com and have been watching the Encore CS3 movies but haven't gotten what I need yet.
I am going to continue and most likely something there will click for me.
I had the problem last week and one of the check mark selectors cleared it up, but nothing seems to work on this project.
It seemed to be related to a feature that was kind of like a visited link color change.
    Any further help is appreciated,
    Don

  • Windows 7 Boot Camp Color Scheme Issues

Hi. I just recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my Boot Camp, and the first thing I noticed was the poor resolution that was stuck to 1600x1200 pixels. The Display Adapter used is listed as "Generic Non-PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter." ortunately, I got this sorted out by choosing "Advanced Settings => List All Modes", and then selecting "2560 by 1440, High Color (16 bit), Default Refresh". Here's where the problem comes in - it's in 16 bit, obviously, and there's no other higher color schemes for me to choose from in the "List All Modes" menu that's 2560x1440 pixels. The only other mode of this resolution is "2560 by 1440, 256 Colors, Default Refresh".
What should I do? Could someone please guide me through the process step-by-step, as the Apple support team was of no help, since they aren't 'familiar' with Windows procedures, despite "Boot Camp" being a Mac-related hardware. And I'm no technical expert, either, so tossing me terms like "update to the X&Y" driver is probably going to confuse me, so please try and explain that to me, thank you.
Thanks for your patience and please get back to me soon.

It appears that you did not follow the step in Bootcamp Assistant where you were to download the Windows Support software. You then had to install the Support software from within Windows. Did you do that step? The display drivers are part of the Support software.

  • Menu buttons not working/highlighting on burned DVD

    Hi all,
So, I'm encountering a problem with my iDVD 7.1.1 project.  When I burn a DVD of my project and play it in my BluRay DVD player (It's a new LG), the menus on the first screen that come up work fine, but once I go to any menu off those, the highlight button color and button effect flash a few times on my first option (which, in this case, is "play movie") and then disappear.  I have a few other options in that same menu and I can't highlight any of them.  After about 5 or 10 seconds of pressing the select button on my remote, I can sometimes get the first "play movie" option to work, and my movie will start playing.  The project I've created works fine when I save it to a disc image, mount it on my computer, and play it in DVD Player- I can navigate perfectly through all my menus and all button highlighting works properly.  It also works perfectly previewing it in iDVD.  Per advice on the board, I've burned a DVD-R at 4x write speed with Toast, using the Disc Copy option and reading from my mounted image file DVD.  Media is Memorex.  I've encoded the DVD project at Professional Quality.  I suppose it could be an issue with my player, so I'm going to attempt to use another DVD player later today and see what happens.  Does anyone have any other suggestions or things I can try?
    Thanks in advance,
    Evan

For anyone else that may encounter this problem, I found a solution on the boards that another user (colorgrader1) discovered: it has to do with static menus being set to a timed loop duration:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2242205?threadID=2242205
If you set the loop time to "0 seconds," the problem is fixed and the DVD will play in standalone DVD players.
