Wallpaper OS Bug

I've discovered that nay non Default (25 images) that there is a zoom applied to these images when used as wallpaper.
I have been planning a few wallpaper images for download for the PB forum members but until this issue is resolved I'll hold off posting on my website.
Please take a look at this image the artwork is created 1024 x 600 and uploaded to the PB. When viewing the image it looks perfect but selecting it as a wall paper it gets zoom by about 60%..however er if I select a default PB images a wallpaper it's fine.
I've tried PNG and JPG and any artwork I create and set to wallpaper it gets zoomed.
This is definitely a OS bug!
Please review the attached image as you can see the original artwork and screen grab clearly shows the problem with imported images

it looks like the PB OS is centering all images and applies the ratio depending on teh rotation....but that still does not explain why a 1024 x 600 image does not fit the defalut landscape mode as per my above iamge ....technically it shoudl fit perfect and be cropped when rotated, but itès not so
I did try a 1024 x 1024 iamge but hat is certainly a poor fix for something that is clearly an OS bug

Desktop Wallpaper Screensaver Bug? [When waking from sleep]

I'm not sure if this topic is in the correct category but it seems to fit.
I have a new 15.4" MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.3. I have multiple images that I want as a wallpaper and so I decided to select "Change picture" in the preferences pane. I also selected "Random order" and chose "When waking from sleep" as the time for the wallpaper to change.
However, if I close my lid, and then re-open it, when the computer wakes up, instead of the wallpaper changing, it changes twice.
Now, this isn't really a problem but it can get annoying sometimes and I was wondering if this problem is due to something I do, rather than the operating system.

I just noticed something, perhaps this will help? There appear to be two kinds of sleep, display sleep and computer sleep. I noticed that if my machine is running (playing music, for instance) and the display goes to sleep, when I use the mouse to wake up the screen the background changes. So maybe when I wake up the machine from computer sleep it changes once for waking from computer sleep, and once more for waking from display sleep?

Skype problems after New update

Hello i was never got problems in skype.This is the first time... After the new update it's updated normally and restarted i signed in and for 1 minutes all normal , after it started to bug the grapics for example the chat messages are showed each in other ,two messages or more in one message and it's laggs , not only with chat is the problem with everything what i open in windows after new skype update.... if i close skype with quit skype everything is working fine.If i click on for example friends on skype half shows the friends half the recent and if i scroll down show one of my friends in list bugged in.I think i can't even tell how looks like if i minimalize a part of skype is on my wallpaper still bugged like v**it.I tryed to reinstall serval times with older versions and with newest versions but the older version's installers doesn't work because show an error messsage:Can't communicate with the server.After reinstalling the newest version i click one skype one of my friends and shows the following error message:Not enough storage to process this command.And the chat windows appears still like v**it.Web skype client works fine i don't know the PC versions of skype why doesn't work please help me.It's urgent. PS:I looked and my ram is not full ,on disk i have 40gb on C: and 71gb on D: Pc specs:Name:Asus EEE Pc 1005HGO/1005HBO1gb ram.Intel Atom 1Core 1.66ghzIntel GMA 945 140GB HDD If you need more info i will send.Thanks for help. 1gb ram

If the reset does not work I would try the following before going to Apple
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Wallpaper bug

My iPod touch 4g has a bug. When I go into settings and wallpaper and select a wallpaper the set screen slides up and three buttons appear at the top of the screen that say: "set home screen" , "set lock screen" ,and " set both". I thought this was a iOS 4.2.1 update until I noticed that after a few seconds the buttons disappear and the normal buttons that say set and cancel don't work. Anyone know what's with this?

Have you try the basic? Restart, reset, restore?

Help! I was trying to set a picture as my wallpaper, but the iPad only let's me set 1 quarter of the picture as my background! Can anyone help fix this?

N8 Bug : Changing multiple menu wallpaper turns of...

Just came throught a weird issue :
I use N8 with Nokia Black Theme.
1) Theme effects are enabled and working nicely, I have nice animations when changing homescreen and switching apps.
2) I changed the wallpapers on my home screens (I have 2, and changed both).
3) No more effects, although in settings they are enabled. I tried to disable and enabled again : no luck.
4) Tried resetting home screen wallpapers to default : no luck
5) I restarted the phone
6) Theme effects are working again
7) Tried changing wallpaper on first homescreen
8) Effects works
9) Changed wallpaper on second homescreen
10) Effects are still working

I tried the steps you mentioned and found that this issue is also present in Previous versions as in PSE 10 also.
I will suggest you to check "Convert Files to" check box and then select "JPEG Max Quality" from corresponding drop down in order to maintain the quality of your JPEG image.
You can do it specially in case you are processing JPEG files and your image quality will remain same.

Rotating wallpaper bug

I have my wallpaper set to change at random every 24 hours, drawing photos from a folder I made. This used to apply to Mission Control so that when I added a new desktop it would appear with a randomly chosen wallpaper. Now, however, one wallpaper either appears with far greater frequency than any other or only one wallpaper is ever chosen.

Add-on: I see what is happening. The random picture works, every hour I get another desktop wallpaper from an IPhoto folder. BUT: every time I restart the MAC, the wallpaper picture is same first picture it always starts with. So the desktop does not remember the last picture it loaded. It just always starts with the same picture like it starts with at the previous reboot.

Dynamic Wallpaper bug

So at "system preferences > Desktop and Screensaver" I've set my wallpaper to change everytime it comes out of sleep.
For example, I have wallpaper 1, 2 and 3.
When I close the MBP, I see wallpaper 1. When I open the MBP again, I see wallpaper 1, it fades really quickly to wallpaper 2 and then again quickly fades to wallpaper 3. Then the "change" is complete and it stays at wallpaper 3.
Is it common that it skips one wallpaper in the rotation?

I don't need it in a special rotation, I currently have ticked the "shuffle", but the problem is that when I open the MBP again, I see my old wallpaper, a new one briefly flashes in, followed by another one that stays.
Can anyone recreate this?
Use a folder with several wallpapers, set it to change wallpaper when it comes out of sleep, and see what happens.

Wallpaper from a picture bug?

Can someone try this and report results... Open a picture, and select "set as wallapaper", and see if it actually set. I've tried it with 2 pics, and when o nthe locked screen, I just see a black background instead of the picture.

it worked fine for me with 2.1.1 but just noticed it happening now, after I updated to 2.2

Probably a case of the image demisnions and aspect ration not matching what is needed for wallpaper. About the only solution (since there does appear to be a resize bug in the wallpaper select function) is to crop the image and re-upload

If Apple thinks that they can intentionally leave “key” features out of the iPhone just to make us think that the iPhone2 is a “significant update”, then Apple isn’t the company I thought it was. Make your phone the “best” it can possibly be for the time it comes out. Don’t leave out “standard” smartphone technology that will make people think twice about trashing their Treo or Blackberry. Adding true GPS or upgrading the internal memory is a different story, but things like the inability to copy and paste, the inability to record video, and the inability to use voice dialing should definitely not be issues with iPhone’s release, especially due to the fact that Apple had more than six months to test the thing. I really hope Apple fixes a lot of these “flaws” immediately or else iPhone won’t be as successful and as respected as it could have been.

Shut Down bug reproducable - Macbook appears to shut down when it doesn't

So, I've run into this issue 4x now, and it's the same every single time.
The bug - when you shut down your Macbook, everything appears shutdown, but in reality it's not, your batteries get drained, and a bad day at work ensues.
How to reproduce the bug.
First - have your macbook running normally.
Connect your external monitor, USB Keyboard, and USB devices.. etc.
Close your Macbook lid to force it to sleep
Turn on your macbook using your external keyboard.
This will allow your external monitor to become the primary screen for your mac - While your macbook stays closed and acts as a desktop.
Now through software methods go and select Shut Down.
The macbook will shut down everything and will appear shut down.
The light will stay on however. So if you open the lid, the macbook won't turn on. Once you close the lid, the light will go away. At this point it time, it really does appear as though the macbook is shut down. But it's not!
And you find this out the morning after you wake up.
-- To get around the issue, you essentially just turn your Macbook back on and shut down again. But it's rather annoying when you're in a rush.

I've been having the same problem - and its not just with the Macbook. I've found several times that I'll go to shutdown my Macbook and the finder, dock, menubar will all vanish - as for shut down - only I'll be left with the wallpaper and spinning sticks. I've left the system for several minutes (5-10) and it still won't shut down so I have to force it to shutdown with the power button. I had exactly the same issue with my 2007 silver iMac the other day. I've also found that my Macbook will appear to shut down and not have done so it drains the battery. I've reset the PRAM on the iMac and still get the issue. Haven't tried with the Macbook I must confess.
I have a local version of iDisk on my desktop and often find they refuse to shutdown even after I've cancelled a sync. I wonder if the problem may lie there?

IOS 8 wallpaper size is now a problem again. How to fix?

Today I tried to change my wallpaper on my iPhone 6 and Apple does not make this an easy process. When I added the new picture to use as my wallpaper it automatically zoomed in really close on the picture. I guess this is the "perspective zoom" feature. Even with the perspective zoom turned off I can only zoom out slightly and a large portion of my picture is still cut off. After trying to fix this for the past hour I can't seem to find a good fix (and no, zooming out and taking a screen shot from farther away to use this new version of the picture DOES NOT work as listed in so many fixes on this forum. This only distorts the picture and still does not give me a workable size) I also refuse to download a 3rd party app that will "allegedly" fix this problem. I am looking for a solution from Apple whether this is simply a setting change somewhere or a bug they are working on fixing.
To make this worse when I gave up and tried to change it back to my previous wallpaper I can't get my previous picture to work anymore because it's automatically zoomed way in. So basically I'm not stuck with a weirdly close background that looks horrible.
1. Is there a fix to this awful "perspective zoom" feature in IOS 8 where I can use the actual picture instead of a zoomed in version of the picture?
OR
2. Is there a way to revert back to my previous wallpaper before I tried to change it? (without restoring my iPhone)
Note: The previous wallpaper was inserted with a version of IOS 7 I was using before the update that apparently let you use an actual picture. I'm now running IOS 8 and can't figure out how to get this option to work correctly. In doing some research I see this was an issue with an early version of IOS 7 but Apple had apparently fixed it in a later version....The problem is now back with the early versions of IOS 8.
