Wan has port no light

A few hours ago my "At Home phone" T-mobile device stopped working completely. I went through the standard procedure of shutting everything off then powering up the cable modem, my t-mobile phone, then the airport extreme. The front light on my airport never went green.
I plugged my laptop into the cable modem (did the modem power cycle) and got connected to the internet with no problem
I did lots of experiments trying many things trying to get my Airport connected to the internet. And I know when I change the device connected to my cable modem that I have to power cycle it.
Eventually I noticed that the light on the wan port on the back of the Airport never comes on.
I am able to use the Airport Utility to look at my airport.
It tells me "Nothing is connected to the Ethernet Wan port"
I tried turning off my wireless on my MacBook, and connecting my MacBook to my airport through a ethernet cable to the Airports lan connections.
That worked (my Airport utility could find my Airport) and the green light came on for the connection.
As an experiment, I connected my MacBook to the Wan port on the Airport. No green light, and no connection could be found by the Airport utility.
I could never get the Wan port's green indicator light to come on.
Are my fears true? Is my WAN port dead?
And why did it die?
If I get a new Airport should I be following a different procedure when power cycling it?
The thing was working right before I power-cycled it.
What are my service options, is this one of those things where a new device is cheaper than a tech messing with it?
I don't have any warranties or service agreements.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options left.
Suggest that you try a Factory Default Reset on the AirPort Extreme to see if that will help.

If you try this a few times, and the WAN port still does not function, it has stopped working.
Repairs are probably not feasible, but you might have a local shop take a look to get an opinion about that.

Insert a headphone jack and remove it and see if the light goes out. The red light indicates the switch didn't switch from head phone to your Mac's speakers. Some folks have actually used a match stick to undo the switch.

Holding the home button and off button at the same time do not work. When I plug it in to charge or to the computer it vibrates every 10 seconds and itunes does not seem to recognize it. It gets really really hot when plugged in (which I don't think is normal). icloud does not recognize it under "find my iphone" either. What could the problem be? I am wondering if dropping it dislodged something inside. if so, what did I dislodge and is it possible to fix this myself?

Sounds like that drop was a critical one, my friend. I would make an appointment at your nearest Apple Retail Store, because you're going to need a replacement. Also as a side note: the reason that the charger is making the phone vibrate over and over is because there is a disconnect somewhere in the charge port of the phone, causing it to plug in and out over and over.

WRT300N - Port 1 Light not working

Just wanted to know if anyone has experinced the LED port light not functioning...Details:
The Router seems to be working fine...It is just bothering me that the Port 1 light is not working....I have that port active with a Vonage Modem and the Vonage Modem is working fine.....It is just annoying me that the light is not functioning onthe WRT300N...
I noticed the previous day it WAS working.....

Well the LED does not light at all, or it flashes in a while? Anyways if the port is working then, why to worry about it!

    Plug in and remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Your question, "Based upon that, I believe you are telling me you do not think it is the BIOS--is that correct?" Yes, as long as you dont see any "white" light reveal from LCD bezel back side while with blank screen state. LCD bezel is the cover around LCD, most design put LED modeule at the bottom side next to LCD. While back light is not on during boot up sequence, that means system doesnt have chance to get BIOS program running. It also means, it stuck at state of hardware bring up. Normally motherboard related.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    4.    Open iTunes.
    5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

Dual Wan and port routing

I am setting up a configuration with SA520W and 2 Wan, in load balancing. But I face a problem that I could not understand.
Traffic is HTTP, SIP and 2 servers.
Servers are for a VPN tunnel and a mail server with ActiveSync
Both services absolutely need port 443 on the external IP, and that's one of the dual wan reason.
The 2 wan are running, load balancing mode is enable and NAt routing in firewall tab as follow :
443 Enabled     WAN     LAN     ALU_OpenVPN     ALLOW always     Any         192.168.0.150     WAN1     Always
443   Enabled     WAN     LAN     ActiveSync     ALLOW always     Any         192.168.0.254     WAN2     Always
If load balanced
Port 443 is NOT routed from wan1 to 192.168.0.150
Port 443 is routed from wan2 to 192.168.0.254
If only WAN 1
Port 443 is routed from wan1 to 192.168.0.150
If only WAN 2
Port 443 is routed from wan2 to 192.168.0.254
In fact I did other testing and no port routing with WAN1 when load balancing is enable, even on port that is not used at all on Wan2.
With a FTP filezilla server, it's OK if on wan2, and it stop before logging if on a wan1 (on laod balancing, ok on both case if only one wan)
Firmware : latest 2.1.18
Any Clue ??

I confirm, there is a strange behaviour.
Simple test :
Dual Wan configured.
A FTP server on the LAN (192.168.0.254) port 21
Firewall , ipv4 config :
WAN   to   LAN     FTP     ALLOW always     Any         192.168.0.254     WAN1
WAN   to   LAN     FTP     ALLOW always     Any         192.168.0.254     WAN2
Then some testing using a FTP client outside the LAN, connection from Internet.
Then, changing ONLY the Wan Mode :
1/ Use only single WAN port : Dedicated WAN
==> FTP connect through WAN1
2/ Use only single WAN port : Optional WAN
==>FTP connect through WAN2
3/ Load Balancing
==>FTP connect through WAN1
==>FTP DO NOT connect through WAN1
Is that a bug or do I have some strange stuff somewhere ?
I will pick up another SA520W from stock, brand new, update the firmware, configure the 2 WAN (invering the 2 provider just in case) and do the same test.

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

WAN Ethernet Port Settings?

Under the Apple Airport Admin Utility/Internet tab there is a button marked WAN Ethernet Port. This button gives you several options, including "Automatic", and then four other options referring to what I guess are port speeds, and the terms "Half Duplex" and "Full Duplex". Any one have a clue to what these are/mean? What should I choose to maximize my Base Station?
I'm running a LinkSys Cable Modem into my Base Station. Right now I'm supposed to be getting 8 MBps service thru Comcast. But I'm only maxing out at about 768 kbps.

Those all have to do with ethernet port speed and transmission of data. Automatic means the ethernet port will try and sense what it is connected to and set the correct port speed and duplexing level. The duplexing means transmission of data. Half duplex will transmit data in just one direction at a time and full means that it will transmit and recieve at the same time. A walkie talkie is an example of half duplex and a telephone is an example of full.
Usally setting it to automatic is the way to go but you want to make sure each side is the same. Make sure whatever your cable modem is set to (Automatic, 100/Full, 100/Half, etc.) is the same on the WAN port of the AE.
If not you will receive CRC errors etc causing slowdowns and retransmission of data.
