Wanadoo base station/won't accept WEP password

complete novice at this. trying to connect wanadoo wireless. Pasword not accepted. Have followed Airport support: seems to be hexadecimal password,26 characters so 128-bit. Tried $ and "0x" and '0X' before password. Not worked. Any ideas.

Thanks. Yes, able to select as you said in "other" (but not under "wanadoo") so at last got past password. Airport status tells me I'm connected but Safari says I,m not connected, so doesn't work.(now on old dial up). However, this is probably Wanadoo connection problem rather than Mac. Thanks again

  • Setup won't accept my password. Help?

I am trying to install Elements 13 on my Mac.  I get a box that says setup want to make changes.  type your password to allow.  It won't accept my password although this password works for everything else with Adobe.

That's the security software that you have got  on your computer. I was asking about the type of thing encryption used on your network, common types are WEP, WPA etc,.

  • ITunes store won't accept my password

Just changed ISPs (from Orange Wanadoo to BTInternet. Had the 'engineer' come out and do all the connecting stuff because I ALWAYS get it wrong.
He said he had connected everything and all would be OK.
    But it isn't.
I wanted to check email on my iPhone, and it wouldn't. Took my phone to an O2 shop (where I bought it from) and bloke there got it going eventually.
Back home, I want to download the BTFON app, but when I enter my iTunes password, it is rejected.
Can't understand what is going on, and getting very, very angry with it because virtually nothing works like it did.
Can anyone PLEASE tell me what to do to get my iPhone to accept an app download from iTunes?
    Many thanks,
    Bill

I tried "resetting" my password, but b****y iTunes just keeps asking me for ANOTHER password, and won't accept the password I want to use! I'm getting mighty fed up with iTunes - I'm a senior citizen, and my memory isn't as sharp as it might have been, so passwords HAVE to be fairly simple and OBVIOUS to me. I can't just keep thinking up new passwords because they are getting more and more irrelevant, and I will NEVER remember them.
What am I supposed to do now?
I can't use my iPhone when I'm out of the house, because it won't recognise my new email address and password. I can't use BTFON because it needs my password, which I can't get iTunes to accept.
I can't get the bloody thing to do anything, and although it cost me £600 when I bought it 2 years ago, I'm not very happy with it any more because I just can't get the thing to do anything.
    HELP!!!!
    Bill

  • Orange Livebox C9C8 won't accept my password.

I see a lot of people having the same problem as me. Just got a new ipad 2 and I cannot connect to the internet, my Orange Livebox won't accept my password, I know I have the correct one, but as soon as I type in the first letter the option to join button on the keypad fades out. If I don't get this sorted by the weekend I'm taking it back and asking for a refund as it's no good to me as it is
Hasten to add, I'm a 63 year old Silver Surfer and not all that technical, but I've hooked up other wireless equipment in my home and never had this problem before, not even been asked for a password, a wep key yes, and I have that to hand as well.

How come I don't get a reply yet every other question on this page has one? No worries, it's going back to the store at the weekend, I've not paid £579 for it to sit collecting dust.

  • When I try to access the Apple store to install a game on my Iphone3g, another person's email address comes up on the page that asks for my password. Has someone hacked my account? It won't accept my password because it's someone else's ID!!!

When I attempt to install a game on my I phone 3g, another person's ID (email address) is on the little box where it asks for my password. It won't accept my password because it's not my ID. How can I get this person's ID off my phone?  Have I been hacked or something??

Just sign put of that account and into yours.
This is covered in the manual:
iPhone User Guide (For iOS 4.2 and 4.3 Software)

  • I'm trying to sync my firefox and it won't accept my password.

Firefox Sync won't accept my password and when I tried to reset it I keep getting hung up on the "An unexpected error occurred. If this continues, please contact support." response after filling out the "Reset Password" fields. I wan't to sync Firefox for this pc. How can I get around this?
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
    == Today: Wednesday 28 July 2010

I solved the problem. Apparently, when I tried to sign up in sync the first time, it didn't go through. All I had to do is re-apply. I used the same username and everything (that's how I know it didn't go throught the first time). My Firefox is now synced and there are no further problems.
    P.S.
If only I could sync my Firefox bookmarks, calender and notes with Opera, Safari and Chrome. That'd be great. I like using different browsers for different purposes. When I need the browser to disappear so all I see is what's in the window, Opera works best. Firefox can't disable the tool-bar "Auto-hide" feature in full screen mode. And Safari doesn't have a Hot-key for full-screen. At least not that I've seen.

  • IMac running 10.5.8, me email won't accept my password. One day it worked normally, next day it won't and I did not change password. Now I cannot reset the password, almost as if it was changed by someone else. I am the only user of this iMac.

My email won't accept my password, was working fine, then one day it wasn't. It is almost as if someone else changed the password and now I cannot use my password or change it to a new one. My iMac is running 10.5.8 , using Earthlink and Safari. Any ideas on this problem?

Are you using the Mail client or Safari to access your email?

  • Changed Apple ID now mobile phone won't accept the password

I changed my Apple ID using my laptop.  I have synched my phone since then, but somehow my phone now won't accept my password.  I'm trying to download an app and it brings up the old apple ID and then says my password was entered incorrectly.  My password is not incorrect and I am able to get into my apple account via my laptop.  What can I do?

On your Phone sign Out of your Account... close All open Apps.. and Perform a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
    Now try it...

  • Asking for password for keychain access, but won't accept my password... What's up with this?

Restarted my MacBook just now and it's got a continuous stream of pop ups asking for password for keychain access, won't accept my password, won't go away (cancel), any suggestions.

    Hello Al323,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Keychain Access on your Mac.  I found a couple of articles I suggest for the issue you described.
Your keychain uses your the same password as your login password.  If it is not accepting that password, I recommend running the Keychain First Aid using the steps in this article:
Mac OS X 10.6: Solving problems with keychains
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH7296
If you are still repeatedly seeing a prompt to enter your Keychain Access password, you may need to reset your keychain.  This will create a new keychain so any saved passwords on the old keychain will not be available, and you will need to enter them when accessing sites for the first time again.  Follow the steps in the article below to create a new keychain:
OS X: Keychain Access asks for keychain "login" after changing login password

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • My email on Mac 10.7.4 won't accept my password.

how can I send email messages if Mac 10.7.4 won't accept my password.  It never asked until recently.  Messages are delivered and are readable, but I can't send messages.  I installed iCloud but I think that was after the email began misbehaving.  Thank you for your help.

I checked the pondini fixes and ended up doing the following - in case this could help someone else with an iMac, OSX Lion, and Time Capsule... http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
First, I downloaded and used Airport Utility 5.6 instead of 6.1 - BTW, I had to attempt download and installation THREE times before the program actually installed.  Be persistant.
Pondini #5: It's possible some names (of all things!) may be a problem.    See item C9.  I had to re-name my Mac, Time Capsule, network, etc... to remove all apostrophes and spaces.
Pondini #7:  If you have WD SmartWare installed on Lion, it's not compatible, per RoaringApps, and there are reports it can cause this problem as well.   Use Western Digital's uninstaller, or delete the app from /Applications and the files com.wdc.WDDMservice.plist and com.wdc.WDSmartWareServer.plist from /Library/LaunchDaemons.   There may also be a file in Library/Application Support.
I then had to shut down computer, unplug Time Capsule, unplug modem; plug everything in again, then reboot computer; then had to go to Apple- System Preferences- Network- and reselect my Time Capsule to connect to WiFi again.
Then opened Time Machine preferences again and attempted back up - it worked!

  • Mavericks won't accept my password and I can't authenticate any actions

Following my recent mishap (https://discussions.apple.com/message/25466460#25466460), I successfully reinstalled Mavericks on my MacBook Pro.
Here's the new problem. It won't recognize me as the administrator. I'm the only account in my laptop, and when I try to authenticate any changes in the system preferences, I type my admin account and password, but it won't accept it! The password hint even shows up, but it still won't accept my password!
What really bothers me is that whenever the window opens, the Name: part is empty. Before, my account name is automatically there, and all I need to do is to enter the password! I am super super worried right now, because I don't want to reinstall Mavericks again.
    Thanks!
P.S. On a side note, I was not able to oversee the completion of the reinstallation. I was out during the last few hours it was being reinstalled.

    more details about my problem:
following the reinstallation, I just wanted to check if the system file I had messed around with (the one mentioned in http://idevicedailys.com/os-x/howto-use-candybar-os-x-mavericks/) was still okay. But this shows up:
I tried using other sudo nano commands like sudo nano /etc/hosts but the same result happens. Please, I am super super desperate!

No, you will not lose anything.
The lock button is the one on the very top of the device, and the home button is the one on the bottom front. They are the only two buttons on the device.
