I installed Snow Leopard some time ago, but I want to go back to Tiger (10.4), I was wondering if I switch back to Tiger will it reset everything? Like will my pictures disappear, how about my applications like gimp, audacity and such go away aswell? Thanks.

In order to do what you want you will have to erase your hard drive then install Tiger. I have no idea why you would want to do that.

I wanna roll back to iOS5 the easy way

How do we roll back to iOS5, from 5.0.1, that restore is PIA, any easy way? If there is no "easy way" then Apple should find one, it helps when ever their updated OS creates more issues, it should give an option to roll back to previous OS, as easily it a 50mb update installs, using just wifi, that's all we want..

You can't. You can't roll back by any Apple-approved method. And if you did chances are it wouldn't fix whatever your problem is. If you have issues with 5.0.1 fix them as most others have. There's nothing wrong with the release, only with your phone.

I wanna go back OS X Lion because OS X Mountain Lion is so worst

Everything is slower (safari, iPhoto...) i hate my laptop because Mountain lion.

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Ical went to prehistoric times, to year 0099. Don't wanna come back

i was syncing mobileme with ical. it looked everything went OK. but when i opened my ical, it was in year 99. Looks Ical really thinks, it's now march 0099.
when i'm trying to go to year 2009 ( Show a specific date in the main calendar view Shift-Command-T), it allow me just to write 3 numbers.

Quit iCal, and open System Preferences...>Language & Text>Formats>Region:>reset/choose the appropriate region...also check what you have set in Dates/Times.

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

Can I return my iPhone 6 and go back to my 5?

I mail-ordered an iPhone 6 because my current phone's a 5, and I've been doing the every-other-generation dance since my first iPhone, a 3G. For the very first time, though, I think I regret my upgrade. I'm probably going to allow a few days to get used to this new, big phone, but I feel doubtful.
My question, then: is there a way I can say "Ha ha oops never mind", switch my US AT&T service back to my 5, and return the 6? My best guess based on experience is that Apple would take the phone back in 30 days (at least they do that with Mac purchases), and AT&T would be happy to fine me $150 for early-termination on my old phone and sign me up for a new two-year commitment on my old one, again. Which would be kind of awful.
Is there a better way, or do I just have to see this as an expensive life lesson?
Motivation: I find the 6 very uncomfortable to hold and use one-handed, and I have no desire for a larger screen if the tradeoff is that I am obliged use this device two-handed now. I feel quite frustrated every time I need to tap any screen's "Back" button, now physically out of my thumb's reach way up there at the top of the screen. Double-tapping the home button to push the top controls within reach feels like an ugly hack, and reminds me every time I do it that this phone is larger than I'd like it to be. Perhaps most worrying of all, I find myself unable to keep my wrist straight while holding this bigger, heavier phone, and I can feel my nascent RSI tingling while I'm trying to read a book on it. Add all these up and you have the very first time I'm using a new iPhone and am not just not in love with it, but really alarmed and half-panicking that this essential life-tool doesn't even feel like it fits with my body any more.
So yeah. Pretty sure I wanna go back to the light, wonderful 5. Any advice would be appreciated.

In the exact same boat here. Life-long iPhone user. Got a 6 on Tuesday and absolutely hate it to the point where I dread using it. Upgraded from an iPhone 4 I'd had for 4+ years. After making several phone calls, my understanding is that Apple will take it back no problem, within 14 days. My iPhone 4 was out of contract with AT&T but when I bought the 6, I renewed my previous contract for 2 years. My AT&T contract also has a 14 days, cancel for any reason with no early termination fee, clause. I assume your AT&T contract would have the same. But I don't think you need to worry about canceling your contract. Since you still have your iPhone 5, you should be able to bring it to the AT&T store, have them switch the existing contract from the 6 to your old 5 and then you can go return the 6 to the Apple store where you bought it. That's no different than being halfway through a two year contract, your phone is stolen and you have to buy a new one at retail price to replace it on your existing contract. You're essentially just bringing your own device you already paid for (the 5) to the existing AT&T plan.
I would just caution that assuming you want to keep your phone number, get the service put back on your 5 at AT&T and have them deactivate the 6 before you go return the 6. Or just make sure the Apple store is capable of transferring the service from the 6 back to the 5 while you're there to do the 6 return.

How do I go back to my normal app window. After selecting the "purchased" option??

So I'm messing around with my phone, and open my app store. At the very top u see the "purchased" option and I select, cool it shows me all the apps I have. Now I'm done and I wanna go back to the way it was..... What do I do??? I don't like it this way. Now I have to individually update my apps, not the "global way", where for example if there is 10 apps to update, I could do them all at once. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't see this at the top of your phone's screen, Restart your phone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, Reset your phone: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logoappears.

After I saw that everything was deleted, I hit the back up and only my contacts and photos from May 2010 came back. I then hit 'restore' and all my contacts deleted once again. I just want my pictures and contacts back from before I updated this software!!

if you wanna get back your pictures and notes restore your friend iphone on your pc but make sure that your friend had the same name of your iphone and the same verison of the old sofware before you update , after that all your contact and note and everything are on your friend iphone , you can copy them in a way or another , I did this with my sister iphone , no matter what is the two iphone's generation the sofware verison is the trick xxx
and for the contacts you can locate the contact folder at your pc , and copy them into your device one way or another xxx

What's the key command : back to last "play position" after I do punch I/O?

I have been try all key commands about "play " function ...
but seems all key command will back to the last recording punch in point,but not back to the last "play" point...
for example:
move playhead to bar 5 and play, punch in at bar 9 and punch out at bar 11..when I hit stop,I wanna go back to "bar 5 and play" ,maybe do punch I/O at 10 ~12 this time ... is there any key command can make play head go back "bar 5 and play" ?(without setting any locator ..go to...or left window edge )

If you imported your key commands from version 7 there can be problems in version 8.
Try using one of the key command presets from version 8.

Backing up ONLY files from your hard drive

So recently installed Yosemite and it caused even more problems I had on this MBP. I now get the grey screens of death during start ups many times before it will actually boot up completely. So I went to back it up and it wouldn't work and I read online that formatting your back up and re-backing up solved the problem and it did. But now I wanna downgrade back to mavericks so I created mavericks boot install and it formatted my HDD and then used my boot OS X Mavericks drive and I was now back in mavericks. And the mavericks new owner intro thing popped up and made me set up my computer info and aske if id like to restore data and i selected yes and selected my external back up drive and it said I could not do it because that drive only had a Yosemite back on it (Because I deleted my mavericks back up earlier) so I went into recovery mode to restore my files I selected my external back up HD and it worked this way but when it finished restoring it restored all my files but it restored It to Yosemite because that was my last back up. So is there any way to back up my files without backing up the OS as well. Would I just have to select every file individually?

Boot into the recovery partition.
Select Disk Utility from the 4 option menu.
Drag the indented VOLUMES to the Source and Destination fields.

Can I go back in time and just grab iTunes?

I don't need or want to redo everything, just iTunes. I downloaded version 9 and am having so many problems I wanna go back to yesterday and get back my version 8.xx. Can I do that? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

All you need to do is, from a Finder window, click the TM icon in your Dock (or click the TM icon in your menubar and select +Enter Time Machine.)+

Going back from 7

Is there a way to convert your songs back to the old iTunes file type from the iTunes 7 type so i can use the old one since the new one has too many bugs to work through for me. geez i can even listen to songs (the whole point of a player)

better yet use musicmatch or something. i am about to give up on itunes.
i wanna revert back to 6 as well. at least it playes music. is that too much to ask for? who did the testing for this product?

How can MDB send back a feedback to the client?

Hi colleagues, I have made a client which sends a text message to a MDB. Before sending, I have created a queue for replay messages and I have this piece of code:
               txtMsg.setJMSReplyTo(replyQueue);
               msgID = txtMsg.getJMSMessageID();
               qReceiver = qs.createReceiver(replyQueue);
               qSender.send(txtMsg);
               qc.start();
               receivedMsg = (TextMessage) qReceiver.receive();
So the question is, how to send back from the MDB to the client a message if I already have this code in the MDB:
String msgID = msg.getJMSMessageID();
               Destination destination = msg.getJMSDestination();
               String txtMsg = ((TextMessage)msg).getText();
               String sender = (String) ((TextMessage)msg).getObjectProperty("JMSSender");
I wanna send back for example, the messages' ID.

I thought MDBs did not have clients.An MDB can have pretty much whatever it wants :). Its a very common requirement for an MDB to talk to a database, talk to an EJB or send new messages to some destination or combinations of all of those things.
