Wanna keep my music and ringtones

I wanna keep my ringtones and music on my old phone and transfer them to my new phone... how do I do this? I have a motorola w755 now (old phone)

That is correct.
You cannot sync from one iphone to the other.  You sync from itunes to the iphone.
The music and ringtones should be in itunes on your computer.  Sync them from there to your new iphone.

  • I recently downloaded a  bunch of songs an ringtones from Itunes on my phone. I synced up the phone to my computer to back up the files and to charge it and afterward all the new music and ringtones are gone?! Checked iTunes and they're not there either!

I recently downloaded a bunch of songs and ringtones to my iPhone 4 and when I synced my phone to my computer to back up the files and to charge the phones the ringtones and songs were gone. They disappeared from my phone and from my iTunes as well. I checked my my iTunes for downloadable items and there was nothing there. I went onto iTunes and tried to download the same things that I had previously and when I did it said I had already downloaded them? iTunes only gave me the option to purchase the music and ringtones again.  Does this happen often or is there something wrong with the software on my iPhone?

    Hi,
Did you have the music in your iTunes library on your computer when you signed up for match? How did you transfer the music from you iPhone to your computer? Do you have a back up.

  • My dad and I shared an iTunes account for years and now I'm getting my own, how can I keep my music and apps?

My dad and I shared an iTunes account for years and now I'm getting my own, how can I keep my music and apps? I'm worried that I won't have any ability to access my apps and music. We have our itunes separated on different computers, so I have all of my stuff separated from his, but I don't know how to put them in my new account.

Well... there really isn't any fully legal way to do this.
The simplest solution is to continue sharing the same iTunes purchasing acct, but create different ones for iCloud (assuming that's why you needed to do the split).
Slightly less kosher: Burn AUDIO CD's, of the music then copy them back to your new account.
BE sure to do this from original acount, To keep the music info, you'll  copy over the CDDB file (in prefs somewhere) - since this maintains the data of CDs that you've had in library.... (it isn't carried over onto a user created CD.)

Music transferred from your iTunes library to your iPhone is transferred to the iPod on your iPhone only.
If a custom ringtone is in the correct format, it will be available under the Ringtones tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Are the custom ringtones in your iTunes library available under the Ringtones tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?

Don't try to change the songs. Connect the iPod, click on the name of it, go to the Summary page and Restore it as a new device.

  • How can I sync the music and ringtones I want from my Mac to my iPhone?

I have an iMac, an iPhone 5s, iTunes 11.1.x, iCloud and iTunes Match. I can't find a combination that will put the music, smart playlists, and ringtones I want on the iPhone. At first iTunes wouldn't sync my ringtones or my smart playlists the iPhone. I finally got the ringtones on but it stubbornly refused to sync a smart playlist of my unrated songs. I turned off iTunes Match and iCloud syncing and managed to get the smart playlist on, but now the ringtones are gone again, including the ones I purchased recently from the ITMS. All I want to do is sync the music, playlists, ringtones, etc. from my master iTunes library on my iMac to my iPhone. The vast majority of my music (7000+ songs) was purchased through iTunes. Some of the ringtones I created from iTunes purchases, some were purchased and downloaded outright. I only care about iCloud as it relates to backing up my contacts, calendar and bookmarks. What combination of turn this on, turn that off and check this box will do this for me? Thanks.

Oops my bad...I see that during my troubleshooting I inadvertently left Ringtones unchecked in iTunes.

  • How do I enable an iPod touch without the original sync'ed computer? (and keep the music and files)

My iPod got disabled, but my computer is broken so all I have is a computer that isn't sync'ed to my iPod. Everytime I connect it to the computer, it tells me to respond on the iPod so I can sync it, however I can't respond on the iPod; it being disabled and all. I want to enable it without actually restoring it so I can keep all my music and pictures. If my music is deleted from my iPod, I won't get it back anytime soon due to my broken computer. Also, I can't use iCloud to get my music because most of it is from cd's and not connected to iCloud, so I really don't want to loose it.

Yo have to restore and thus erase the iPod. It is a security feature
    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • I had to get a new iphone and i couldn't back it up first, So im trying to redownload the music and ringtones i've bought off of itunes. I found under purchased my songs how can i redownload all the ringtones i bought off itunes?

I had to get a new iphone and i couldn't back it up first so im trying to redownload all of the songs and ringtones i purchased i found my songs but how can i redownload all the ringtones i have already purchased.

Apps can be re-downloaded for free (instrutions here : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519). Media (musiv, films, tv, tv shows) can only be downloaded once, which is why you are advised to make and maintain backups of your content, especially purchased content. You can try contacting Apple via the Lost or Missing Items under the Music Purchases tab on this page http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/ - but Apple are under no obligation to let you re-download any content (and if they do it may be on a one-off basis, and you might not be able to do so again in the future)

  • HT1451 iTunes keeps losing music and playlists

I am running the latest version of itunes on my XP machine, and upon opening it, my library was missing 2/3 of my music and all of my playlists were gone. I reimported all my music from the File/Libary/Import Directories function inside iTunes.  I then used a product called TouchCopy to copy all my Playlists from my iPod back to iTunes.  I opended and closed it several times to see that it remained unchamged.  I opened iTunes again a couple hours later and it was back to the way it was, missing 2/3 of my music and all of my Playlists.  I fixed it twice and it keeps happening after a certain unknown amount of time.  I also unimstalled and reinstalled iTunes in between, and it still happened again. Any ideas what is wrong?

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
AVG AntiVirus is one possible suspect in this matter. If you have AVG you should download the latest patch. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process. I'd be interested to know which AV package you use to see if others may also occasionally interfere with the library files.

  • My audio is not working on my music and ringtones.

Works on other apps. Everything is updated. Have turned off and on. Have even done a restore. Checked all the settings and cannot figure it out. Help?

Yes it began after the restore. I just didn't figue it out until today (did it last week). All of a sudden my music ringtones where not ringing which had me stumped but I just changed them to regular tones. Then I went to use my music this morning and there is no sound.  I can go to itunes and preveiw songs just fine...its just my music app and ringtones on the phone that wont come through.

  • Music and ringtones

I had perviously purchased some songs and made ringtones out of them. I have since had to delete the user profile on my computer due to corupption issues. When i did that it did not backup my itues library or any of my songs and ringtones i had. I have all of the ringtones on my Iphone 3G but I dont know how to get them onto my new itunes without losing everything i have on it. I still have the recipts in my email for all of my purchases. Is there a way that I can reverse sync my phone and retreive my information off of my phone?

Hello, Welcome to discussions. Information below will assist. Post back if you need more assistance.
Step 1: Authorize new computer with the iTunes Store account associated with files on iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
Step 2: Connect iPod, Cancel any messages asking to sync. And then Import purchases back into iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
*You should notice all iTunes Store content now copying back into iTunes. Below are links for backing up iTunes. I would also like to recommend you may wish to invest in an external hard drive. A couple if you are interested. As it will allow backups for backups or for multiple dedicated use.

  • Update to iTunes 10.6.1, sync iPhone, lose all music and ringtones

OMG, I am so tired of Apple screwing up my iPhone either with iOS or iTunes updates.  This time I updated iTunes to 10.6.1, synced my iPhone, then I got a call and I notice that the ringtone wasn't the one I had set up as the default.  I started checking and all my ringtones and music playlists were gone.  Thanks Apple for testing your code so well.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 4s and Windows 7 computer.  I noticed after updating both the phone and iTunes that I lost all my music from the phone, and it wouldn't sync back.  I still had it in my iTunes library, could sync apps but not music. I also could not download music over wi-fi from iTunes directly onto my phone.
I got onto the phone with Apple Care, they had me try everything under the sun, took hours over several days, and in the end they suggested that I restore my phone and set it up as a new phone.  That worked, and I now have my music back

  • Music and ringtone mix up

My iPhone 5c uses a copy of a song as a Tone and in Music, the original song plays only the ringtone portion. This does not happen on my 5th generation iPod Touch or iTunes on Windows 7 where the song plays normally even if it has the Tone.
Downloading the song from the cloud onto either of the three devices changes nothing and leaves the problem unresolved.
    Suggestions for fixing this?
