Want advice from dreamweaver phonegap experts
Hello,
whish u very very happy new year and season greetings,
I m planning to make a tablet application using phonegap. But before that i want to clear my doubt, In my presentation i want to five button.
First button is for to load html page in that application.
Second button is for to load flash or unity3d app/apk in application.
Third button for to load video
Forth button for to video( half page) and half page for html page means at a time i want to show html document and video on same page with the use of webview and videoview.
Fifth button is for to load xml or sqlite generated quiz (multiple choice question)
So is it possible to load external application using phonegap for both IOS and android. If is it possible than please tell me how to do it.
I want to make one application for IOS and android.
Thanking you.
no the audio will play back alright through the system sound - you don't need to export it unless you have a specific reason to.
your QT file should playback just fine within logic. basically if you can play it wiuth the QT player then you can play it through logic. just go "open movie as float" under options in the main menu. you need a reference point in the QT - if the guys your workling with are at all professional they will provide you with BITC, which you can then line up to your own SMPTE by using the movie start in the float window.
its really very easy. if you are using a really heavy CPU intensive session, then you may want to check what format or codec the QT is in because certain codecs require more from the system than do others. as a rule of thumb, the more compressed and high quality the more work for the cpu.

Why have you removed PhoneGap Build from Dreamweaver CC?
From Dreamweaver October 2014 release is now live! Important information.
"Phonegap Integration deprecated: To ensure that you have access to the latest Phonegap updates, this feature is deprecated. You can use http://build.phonegap.com directly to package your applications."
How to kill a perfectly good service! The service is still there. You'll get the latest version directly from the PhoneGap site. It's impractical to update Dreamweaver with new versions of PhoneGap Build every time PG changes.

Firefox 3 displays the php code when pages launched from dreamweaver 8
The problem seems to relate to files opening as —
file:///C:/localweb/ .... when sent from Dreamweaver 8.0 to Firefox
The first html/php page loads correctly from dreamweaver as
processed HTML, a second page linked from either an HTML or php
page also loads correctly, but selecting any link from that or
subsequent pages displays the full php code instead of processed
html layout - so this appears to be a third level or greater
problem.
If I manually substitute -
http://localhost/ — the problem
does not arise.
This is a problem with version 3 of firefox, all previous
versions I used worked fine with both — file:///C:/localweb/
and
http://localhost/
Both prefixes also appear with pure HTML sites, but they load
and function correctly.
Not every php site I have loads with file:///C:/localweb/, so
I am wondering if this relates to something in the php code or
Dreamweaver - I have conn.php set to:
mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "") or die(mysql_error());
I use winxp and have xampp installed - everything worked fine
until I installed Firefox 3> but selecting any link from that or subsequent pages
You are being confused by a) not understanding root relative
vs document
relative links, and b) not understanding how DW previews
files.
If I have a document with a link to an image that looks like
this -
<img src="/images/foo.gif"...
That's what's called a root relative link.
If I preview that document in DW, then the browser gets the
document, sees
the leading "/" and reads that as the root of the hard drive,
since the
browser has no idea where the root of the site is. Thus, the
image is
broken in the preview.
If I have temp files enabled, then DW will secretly convert
the file being
previewed into a temporary file, and hand that to the
browser. This temp
file has had all root relative links converted to document
relative links
(as you will see by looking at the code in the browser), and
has had all
include files actually embedded in the page, and has had all
external CSS
and js markup embedded in the page. In other words, DW has
made the
document into a stand-alone page.
If you do not have temp files enabled, all of these links
would be broken on
preview.
Now - if you are using root relative links, AND you have temp
files enabled,
AND you click away from the previewed document, then all of
your links will
be broken, since DW has not made that linked file into a temp
file. This is
what you are seeing.
So - if you want to click away on preview, then you must use
document
relative links for the site -
<img src="../images/foo.gif"... (for example)
These will still work on preview since the browser knows how
to determine
the current file's location and how to follow that path.
Make sense?

File Manager Pro.....Advice from other users please
I uploaded much of my music collection to Skydrive in anticipation of iPad ownership.
I planned to hold a small selection on the device and refresh/replace albums from Skydrive whilst on my travels using Hotel WiFi.
I have discovered that even using the "Skydrive App" one can only stream such media content, not download it.
Enter "File Manager Pro".
...This promised to be the answer to a maiden's prayer.
...alas, no.
Though I can now download music using the App, it remains imprisoned within the application, only being playable on the "One Shot" rudimentary in-built player.
Does anyone know of a way to transfer these music files to the iPad library where I could then access them from the iPad player?
Alternatively, is there some other way of downloading music from Skydrive directly to the iPad music library?> Any other user please advice how do you transfer files

If you are seeing Save to Remote Server, then your site is
not properly
defined. It should be defined as an FTP site, NOT as an FTP
and RDS Server
site (unless you REALLY know what you are doing).

Downgrade from Dreamweaver CS4 to Cs3?
Is there any way to downgrade from Dreamweaver CS4 to CS3?
I've looked all over and can't find anything on this subject. (I
tried to find a new copy of CS3, but encountered a host of problems
of one description or another, and I don't want to pirate a
copy...although it's depressing to think piracy would be the
easiest method...)
Thanks.Sorry, Jo - didn't see your reply.

I just upgraded to CS5 from Dreamweaver 8 - where are my sites?
I just upgraded to CS5 from Dreamweaver 8. I am running Mac OS 10.5.8. I was expecting that when I launched CS5 for the first time it would find whatever files it need from my Dreamweaver 8 and my sites would be available in CS5. However, I don't see any of my sites that I manage regularly in Dreamweaver 8. How do I import them in?
Thanks.Beacuse of the upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7.3 my Dreamweaver 8 (unexpectedly) stopped working altogether so I had to upgrade to CS5.5
(which, functionally, I didn't even want to do (yet)).
Although it was an upgrade, it didn't take my site settings from v8.
How can I get them now, as Dreamweaver 8 stopped working!?
Please advice as there are settings in there that clients have entered themselves and are not tracked anywhere else.
Ansd is there a way to get CS5.5 to actually work with our html5 / css3 sites as it shows them all garbled?
I hoped this would at least solve this issue, but it sure hasn't :-(
Kind regards

Cannot connect to an Access database from DreamWeaver
Hello.
I'm creating my first web page with a DB connection.
I have a minimal DB with a simple table.
This is a DB as Access create it by default, with no password
and no
security constraints.
In DreamWeaver, I have created a default DB connection string
for Access
2000.
I have removed, from this connection string, the UserID and
the Password as
there is no password for my DB.
I have put the right path for this DB.
But it doesn't work!
I receive the message: (sorry for my bad english) cannot open
the DB, it is
already open by another user (it is not the case: the DB is
closed) or you
must have autorisation to visualised the data.
Do you have an idea ?

I'm not an expert in file permissions so I have simply moved
my DB on the
HDD of my PC, before it was on another server.
So, now, I think I have no file permission problem anymore.
I can connect the DB from DreamWeaver but I cannot see the
tables !
If I open the Tables node of the db tree in the Database
window of
DreamWeaver, I receive the message:
"Error calling GetTables".
Do you have an idea or an advice ?
Thanks in advance,
Alain. -
Opening Fireworks from Dreamweaver CS5
I am trying to open Fireworks CS5 from within Dreamweaver CS5.
When I do I get an error message that says that "Fireworks is unable to be launched or an error has occured"
I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When I originally tried to open Fireworks (either directly or from Dreamweaver) I got the following message:
"Your user privileges do not allow Fireworks to update your registry. Launch and Edit with Dreamweaver will not work properly unitl Fireworks is launched while using Administrative privileges."
I got the following advice - Try right-clicking on the Fireworks.exe icon, then select 'Properties', select 'Compatibility' and then under the section 'Privilege Level', put a tick in the box 'Run this program as administrator'.
I have done what was suggested but now every time I open Fireworks I get the same Windows User Account Control message as follows:
"Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer" - Program name Fireworks. When I say yes the program opens OK.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way everything works OK on my laptop running a Windows XP Pro 32 bit system.Further to previous posting the error message I get when I try to launch Fireworks from Dreamweaver is:
"C:\Program Files\(x86)\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS5\Fireworks.exe
Please be sure that this aplication exists and that there is enough memory to run it."
Photoshop launches OK from Dreamweaver. Fireworks is the default image application. -
Accessing above public_html from Dreamweaver
We're a small family business (father and son). We both have
to do a bit of everything but I am mainly a developer. All our
sites have more-or-less the same structure on the server which is
as follows (where [D] shows it is a directory)-
www.website.com [D]
-incs [D]
--errors [D]
--headers [D]
--footers [D]
-public_html [D]
--css [D]
--scripts [D]
--index.html
We both want to be able to access the files in the
directories incs, footers and headers which are on the same level
as public_html from Dreamweaver. If I set the root as
www.website.com in the Dreamweaver site manager then none of the
images or css files link properly since Dreamweaver is linking
relative to below the public_html directory.
I know one way would be to set the root as public_html and
then just use an ftp programme to access the files under
public_html but this is far from practical. I quite often am
editing files in Dreamweaver above and within the public_html
directory.Dooza wrote:
> The root folder in Dreamweaver HAS to be /public_html/

Correct, but this is only the case where you are using links
relative to
the site root. The problem is avoided by using
document-related links.
> The only thing to do is move the inc

be setup to use

Not true. Dreamweaver will use any folder that you designate
as the root
folder.
The way around BaritoneUK's problem is to create two site
definitions:
one that has public_html as the root folder, the other that
has a higher
level folder as the root. Use the first site definition to
manage the
site with links relative to the site root. Use the second
site
definition to manage the files outside the server root.
Dreamweaver will display a warning when you originally set up
the nested
site definitions, but you can safely ignore it, as long as
you don't
rely on Synchronize Site.
I used this system on a site for many years without problems,
but no
longer do so, as it's much less convenient than keeping
everything
within the public server root.
Dreamweaver would benefit greatly from the ability to manage
files
outside the server root. It's a feature that many people have
asked for.
If it's important to you, I suggest filing a feature request
here:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
The more people who ask for a feature, the more likely it is
to be
implemented in a future version of Dreamweaver.

I've had **** with my iMac, the hard-drive failed so i replaced it with a new 1TB Samsung drive. Then when i tried to install SL from the install disk, all went to plan until it asked me which drive i wanted to install it on, where it came up with a box where my options should have been, but instead it didn't give me any options to install it on any drive i.e. it asked which drive i wanted to install it on but no drives came up to select.
So i followed the advice from another forum, look at the 'Extended Hard-drive preparation' response
( https://discussions.apple.com/message/10576009#10576009 )
After following these instructions i have now got a new partition, but when i restarted my computer to install SL on the drive, the option to boot from the drive is now not available, now i must boot from the install disk, whereas before i was able to boot from either the install disk or the hard drive. The hard drive is still visible in disk utility as it always has been, but i am now unable to boot from it, let alone install SL.
Please help my iMac has been broken for months and i've been trying to fix it for so long and am getting problem after problem. Thank you!
<div class="mcePaste" id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;" mcestyle="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;"></div>Hi db2
That off the shelf MS-DOS / FAT-32 drive needs to re-partitioned GUID Partition Table / Mac OS Extended (Journaled) before you can install OS X and Startup your Intel iMac from it.
1. Boot from your original install or retail SL DVD and open Disk Utility.
2. Highlight the new HD in the list of drives and select the Partition tab.
3. Under Volume Scheme select 1 Partition and click on the Options... button.
4. Select GUID Partition Table in the drop down window and click OK.
5. Set the Format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and click the Apply button.
6. Once thats done, then you can do a clean SL Install, Restore from TM , your old HD or Bootable Clone.

Problems upgrading from Dreamweaver 4 to CS3
The website I manage is www.episcopal-dallas.org. Today, I
upgraded from Dreamweaver 4 to CS3. In Design view, I can edit
about half of the pages, but those of the other half (including the
index/home page) have gray backgrounds (with a few exceptions that
have white), and, although I can make changes in the code, I cannot
edit them in Design view. The cursor forms the universal "nicht"
sign — circle with a diagonal slash through it. I can't find
any commonality between the ones that I can edit and the ones I
can't.
Also, on some of the pages, the navigation panel that is
supposed to be on the left side has ended up above the text of the
main body of the page. Manuals I have say nothing about upgrading
existing websites.> Apparently, DW4 didn't make
> the pages conform to the templates
Of course it does.

I upgraded from Dreamweaver CS4 to CS6. but now when I want to upload I get "an TFP error occured - cannot make connection to host". I spent hours with the host technician and we cant find the error. I reinstalled DW4 and it connects to host perfectly. Anyone else seen this problem?
Mac OS 10.8.5
None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We have double checked all of them and we have everything exactly right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Could there must be factor in 6 that didn't exist in 4? Something that isnt in the SiteSetup but in some hidden dialog box ?
I can also upload to my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And as I said DW CS4 works fine. So the problem is not with my host, its with DW CS6 in particular.Thank you Jon, that fixed it perfectly. You have saved me from going crazy. The only difference I see now is in "Server Name" it changed what I had entered (my ftp address) to "Remote Server"; which seems odd -- but it works! Although I know there maybe also some other dialog box I have never seen
Of course I saw that menu item "Import" and but I thought thats obviously not for me: "Why would I want to import an entire website?". I did not however see "Export the selected site" for thats only a tiny icon in the footer. However I would have thought the same: "Why would I want to export my entire website?".
An observation: I've seen this problem in a lot of Adobe software, the menu-names of items are obscure, non descriptive. What would be better would be for the menu names or popups to say "Export Site Setup settings" and "Import Site Setup settings" -
Photo in video cut when going from "Quick" to "Expert"
I created a video using Premiere Elements 11. I used a video I took on a Canon T3I and pics saved on the computer and edited using Photoshop Elements 11. I created the video with the Premiere Elements 11 set to "Quick." With the video created this way it worked fine and it up;loaded to you tube and worked perfectly on there. I then opened the completed video file and saved a copy. I then opened the copy and clicked the "Expert" button. After the screen had changed to go from "quick" to "expert" I noticed that one of the pics in the video was cut and replaced with a red and black screen that says "media off-line" in several languages. The caption from the original pic is still there but when I play the video on Premiere Elements 11 the picture is not there and when the video plays it shows the red and black media offline screen. The pic that was eliminated is a .tiff file. what happened to that pic and how can I fix it? Thanks.
Henry XYZ
I suspect that somewhere along the line you moved the source media that went into the project.prel after the project prel (project file) was saved closed. Let us see.
But, I need to go through your details to see where that might have happened. I want to make sure we are distinguishing between import source media, source media on the Quick view Filmstrip, source media on Expert view Timeline, and the export of the source media to a file.
1. You set up a project with video and photo content in the Quick view. And, uploaded that to YouTube. Am I correct that the uploaded to YouTube was from Quick view Filmstrip via Publish+Share/Online/YouTube?
2. What did you save when you wrote
I then opened the completed video file and saved a copy.
Was that a copy of the project.prel (project file) that you saved via File Menu/Save A Copy or something else?
3. Then you wrote
I then opened the copy and clicked the "Expert" button. After the screen had changed to go from "quick" to "expert" I noticed that one of the pics in the video was cut and replaced with a red and black screen that says "media off-line" in several languages.
Assuming that is the copy of the project.prel file and given that you switched to the Quick To Expert view and noticed a missing photo (.tif) when viewing in Expert view, what next?
a. When you first opened the project.prel copy, apparently it opened in Quick. Did you see the photo at this point?
b. When you went to Expert view and found the photo missing, did you go back to Quick? If so, was the photo still there?
4. Do you have any drive letter changes going on in all this? Where is the source media for this project saved?
Please review. Your reply will help us to help you resolve this matter.
It is not uncommon for the Quick view not to offer features or present as does the Expert view. But I have rarely if ever run into instances of the reverse.
So, please check the save location of the "missing" photo in Expert as to what is going on there. Premiere Elements project has only copies of the source media and these copies link back to the originals at their hard drive save location.
Thanks.
