Want books on iPad, not on iPhone.

I've recently bought two books on my iphone ready to read on my iPad as the iPhone screen is too small. Got home and tried to sync the books but because I've logged into someone else's Apple ID recently, I can't have the books on my iPad for another 45 days. I don't actually want the books on my ipgone, I just want them on my iPad but out of convenience at the time, I bought them on my iphone. Is there no way I can get them on my iPad before the 45 days are up without having to purchase again?

Where has somebody else logged into their account and redownloaded their purchases, on your computer's iTunes or your iPad ?
If your computer then you should be able to redownload the ibooks directly on your iPad (as long as they're still in the store) via the Purchased tab in the iBookstore in the iBooks app.
If your iPad then connecting your phone to your computer's iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases should copy the books to your computer's iTunes library - does syncing them to the iPad not work ?

    Correct.
You would have to transfer it to your computer from your ipad, then sync it to your iphone.

  • HT5621 I only receive iMessage on my ipad not my iPhone, when looked in settings under messages then under send and receive only my email address is ticked and an unknown phone number not mine is present but grayed out not ticked ?

It's not my phone number under settings / messages/ send and receive, it's greyed out , not ticked and not changeable, so that's probably why iMessages only come into my ipad not my iPhone. Think it'll be the original phone number the phone had before my own number was assigned to it. How can it be changed?

Turn off imessage and turn it back on.  Then check the settings again.
If that doesn't work, then you may need to restore from your backup, if that doesn't woirk then restore as new.

  • HT1178 How do I set up time capsule to back up my data in Imac, Mac Book Pro, Ipad 3 and Iphone 4

I just got my New Time Capsule. I have managed to access wifi but would like to know the process for activating my capsule to update my data on my Imac, Mac Book Pro, Ipad 3 and Iphone 4?

Turn on Time Machine in Imac and MBP..
iPad and iPhone have no direct connection to TC.. they backup to iTunes.. which the computer will backup via TM.

  • Syncing address book with iPad-2 and iPhone 4S.

Since upgrading to IOS5.01 I have not been able to upload my address book to either my iPad-2 or iPhone 4S.
Has anyone encountered this problem and successfully resolved it?

Sorry, but I don't understand what "back end" (Exchange?) is.
Yes, my mail and calendar appear to work just fine. (Slow when opening, but otherwise OK).

  • Ipad not updating iphone calendar

IPad calendar is not updating iPhone calendar but iPhone will update IPad. Has worked fine in past but not now. Can anyone help?

Reset the device. If it doesn't work try removing your account and adding it again. If that doesn't work then try restoring the device to factory settings by pluggin into iTunes and clicking "Restore".

  • Books on iPad not shown under iPad tab in iTunes

For some reason existing ebooks on my iPad mini are not visible under the "Books" sidebar entry inside iTunes, under the "On This iPad" tab. I can add books to iBooks on the iPad by dragging them to the iPad icon inside iTunes, and the books transfer OK; they simply are not shown in the list in iTunes. I have another iPad which works fine, i.e. books on the iPad shows up in the list; same with an iPhone which works correctly. Alldevices have synch switched off so I manually add books (and music; music list works fine on all of them so it is only books having the problem).
This is frustrating since it means I cannot remove books from the iPad using iTunes. Deleting all the books on the iPad (by doing it inside the iBooks app on it), deleting the iBooks app itself, rebooting, and then re-adding books does not help. Also, the iPad in questio  was recently reset using an iCloud backup which did not change the situation.
So any ideas why my iTunes insists there are no books on this particular iPad, even though iTunes happily transfers them?

Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.
Failing all that, see here - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 for Windows and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 for Macs
And failing all that put the device into Recovery mode. See here and note the paragraph 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page -

  • Photo Stream on restored iPad not matching iPhone or iPhoto

I have approximately 950 photos in my Photo Stream (PS) on my iPhone and in iPhoto.  I had to do a Restore as New with the iPad and not it looks like just about 50 random pictures show up in my PS.  I have tried turning PS off/on but that created duplicates of photos.  I finally did an off/on and got just the 50 (non-dupes) back in my iPad PS but I would REALLY like the PS on my iPhone to be on my iPad as well (I thought that was the point).
Is the 30-day rule killing me?  Anything else that could cause this?
    Thank you in advance.
    TC

I think it's the 30-day limitation.  I've read that if you re-enable Photo Stream after restoring as you did on your iPad you only get the photos from the last 30 days.  (Older photos seem to stay in your Photo Stream album on your device until you turn Photo Stream off, then turn it back on.)

  • 3G on the iPad not on iPhone!

Probably no answer for this one but I was surprised when it happened.
This is in my home and I do not get 3G on my iPhone so it goes to Edge.
Received the iPad two days ago and it gets 3G same location.
The only answer I can think of is the iPad has a more sensitive 3G receiver!
    LarryB

Excuse my previous post. There are 5 antenna, but only 2 are for 3G.

  • Pages: Auto rotation works in iPad - not in iPhone ...

I have both iPad and iPhone.
I work with documents and spreadsheets, sometimes from my iPad, with PAGES & NUMBERS
Everything works fine, when I turn my iPad my documents and spreadsheets turn as well, so I have a landscape view.
When I do the same from my iPhone 5, the documents turn, but not the spreadsheets...
It is as if the NUMBERS don't understand the rotation of my iPhone, although they do when I turn my iPad.
And, as you are aware, spreadsheets usually are viewed in the landscape view.
    Any help?

I will try to get your thread moved to iWork for iOS

Not the help you were looking for, but that is the way Numbers is designed currently. It does not work in landscape mode on the iPhone for some reason. LEt's hope they fix this in the next revision. Out of all the apps that could make use landscape mode on the iPhone, Numbers has to be at the top of that list. Drives me nuts evey time I try to use it on my phone.

  • Airplay turns off on iPad not on iPhone

    Hi every body,
While playing music with iPad 2 throught Airplay, the connection periodically turns off.
I have to reconnect again for an over 5 or 10mn.
This doesn't happen with my iPhone.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello pisur2,
Thank you for the details about the issue you are experiencing when using AirPlay on your iPad 2.
I recommend reviewing the steps in the section titled "Troubleshooting performance issues with AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring" in the following article:

  • IPad not recognizing iPhone purchases

I recently purchased a slew of ringtones and alert tones from the itunes store, but they do not appear in my 'purchased' section on my iPad nor in my list of available sounds, is there a way to get my ipad to recognize these purchases? I'd like to use the same alerts on my ipad without manually syncing both devices with my computer.

Ringtones are currently a one-time only download from the store. If they are on your phone then you will need to connect your phone to your computer's iTunes and then do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPad.

  • My new iphoone 4s only picks up my ipad back up not my iphone 4

My new iphone 4s only picks up icloud back up for my ipad not my iphone 4.

Go to iTunes Settings, on the Devices tab you will see a list of all available backups.  If you don't see the one you're looking for there it doesn't exist to restore your phone to it.  Also, if you want to prevent iTunes from syncing automatically you can check "Prevent...from syncing automatically" on the Devices preferences screen.
If you do see the backup you are trying to restore to listed here, you should be able to right-click on the name of your phone and select it to restore from.  When you right-click on your phone you should see these choices, where "iPhone" is the name of your phone:
