Want help with badi implementation?

Hi experts,
I m new to BADI'S.I got a requirement to get a sub-screen to the standard transaction MFBF.The subscreen will be having 2 fields personnel number and personnel name. For this the functional guy told me to activate the badi rm_hr_integration to get the sub-screen.If the badi is activated he said we get the above mentioned 2 fields as columns in the table control in the selection screen of transaction MF42N. What should i do to activate the badi?If i activate the badi will i get the require sub screen?Do i need to write any additonal code?
Please anyone suggest me the soln with some procedural steps.sloutions will be rewarded with points.

Thanks for the reply. I created the implementation for the badi and activated the badi.Then i run the transaction MFBF to see whether i got a subscreen but i there is no change.In the implementation of the badi there is a tab for subscreen.In that tab there are some fields to fill.The fields call program and screen no are filled automatically with values SAPLBARM and 800 respectively.There are 2 more fields to fill called program and screen no.What i have to fill in those fields?any suggestions?

Go to transaction SE18 and display the BAdI definition. Read the documentation which will explain what this BAdI does and even tell you how to create an implementation and where do you find additional help/documentation regarding BAdIs.
There is also a sample code which is available in SE18 via Goto -> Sample code -> Display.

Need help with BADI..

hi,
in VA02 when i delete a sales item, i need to check something and if that validates to true, i dont want to allow the user to delete that item.
i was able to trace up to a level where when user clicks on the minus icon in the materials window and confirms by clicking Yes, a BADI called BADI_SD_SALES_ADDON is called.
but SAP fails to get a handle of it's class which is CL_EX_BADI_SD_SALES_ADDON. I am not sure how i implement my code inside this class!! I cannot implement BADI_SD_SALES_ADDON as SAP does not allow me to do so.. what shall i do ?
i think if i make SAP to get the handle of CL_EX_BADI_SD_SALES_ADDON then if i write my code inside this class as an implicit enhancement ?? I am not sure.
any suggestions please ?

Help required with badi implementation for IBASE

Hi,
I have implemented and activated a BADI (Defination name: BADI_IBASE_SAVE_CHCK). This BADI is for additional checks before changes to an IBASE is saved. However, this BADI is not getting triggered.
I tried debugging the transaction IB52 during the SAVE operation, but couldnt get the reason.
Can anyone help me out with this...
I implemeted the BADI from the SPRO transaction in the following path.
SPRO>Customer Relationship Management>Master Data>Installed Base> Enhancements-->BADI:Additional check when saving Installed Base.

Help with badi activation

Hi friends! I want use badi definition BADI_J_1BECD for transaction J1BECD. To do this, I have created implementation on SE19 with definition "BADI_J_1BECD" and coded method "Fill entire register I051", but I cannot debug it even putting Break-point in this. I tried debug with SM50 (fake loop) but without sucess. I'm forgetting anything?
My release is 4.6c.

I've got an NFR of CS6 and I'm trying to give Adobe Story a shot.
Seems it requires online content and a CS Live account to do anything.
But when I try to create one it dies with the error message:
Account setup not completed
Could not set up your CS Live account. Try again later.

UPDATE: Downloaded update and that fixed things.
However, turns out my NFR of CS6 Production Premium doesn't allow me to use Story.
And here all I wanted to to do try out the transcription features of Premiere Pro.
Without a script it's complete gobbledygook. Would like to try it with a script but it appears I need Story to convert my PDF to Adobe Story format.
Oh well.

Help with API implementation!

I should be grateful if you could shed some light on the implementation of the public int read(b[], int off, int len) throws IOException method present in the ByteArrayInputStream class in java.io, since the definition, in my opinion is a bit awkward. infact it says that in order to find out the number of byte read, you have to add k, which is the length of bytes read to pos, the index + 1.
Having access to the implementations of methods in the API, would definitely make a better programmer, I think.

The Javadoc comment for read isn't very good since it also tells you how it's implemented rather than simply what it does.
All you need to know to use it is this:
1) you tell it the number of bytes to read
2) it returns the actual number of bytes read, k
3) the bytes read will start at b[k]
The source for all the core classes is available if you really want to look at it. It's in a file called src.zip or src.jar located in the installation directory of your J2SDK.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Is it a good idea to use function modules in badi custom code
i am trying to modify one of the infotype records (0004) using badi but the field is not getting updated , im using func mod HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION.

Unfortunately you did not reveal the most important detail for answering your question:
Which BAdI are you using?
Assuming that you perhaps use BAdI HRPAD00INFTY (Update / Infotype maintenance) then you can see from the signature of the interface methods (IF_EX_HRPAD00INFTY; on ECC 5.0) that none of them is intended for changing current data of the transaction. On the contrary, all method parameters are IMPORTING parameters and are called BY VALUE. Thus, no changes of the parameters within the interface methods will be transmitted to the caller.
Method IF_EX_HRPAD00INFTY~AFTER_INPUT is the only method having an exception which implies that this method can be used to perform checks (compare PBO vs. PAI data) and reject changes by raising the exception.
Final remark:
It is complete nonsense to commit work within a BAdI because the BAdI is called within a transaction which should be properly committed at the end of the transaction.

But I believe the country cannot be changed in your profile; most likely they will tell you to temporarily create a new profile with your current country.

Wanted: help with creating overlapping arc selections

I use Elements 6, make album pages, and want to replicate a design I have seen. There is a background image. Around the edges are several overlapping arcs which "frame" the image. Each arc has a white stroke outline and is a different color (obviously pulled from the background image). The interesting thing is that where two arcs overlap the stroke outlines of both arcs are still visible, and also the section within the overlap has a third color. My questions are:
1. How do I create the arcs in the first place? I tried extending the canvas, creating ellipses and moving parts of them over the edge of the background image. This worked for the first arc, but Elements balked at doing more! Should I create arcs on separate files and move them over?
2. Once I have two arcs overlapping on a page, how do I retain visibility of both their stroke outlines? And how do I select the overlapped area in order to recolor it? How do I make different layers opaque and transparent at the same time, and only show the parts I want visible? What tool(s) do I use?
Does anyone know? Or is this something too advanced for Elements? Thanks. MH1071

You could use the ellipse shape tool to make the arcs. Drag out an ellipse shape; arching the top to taste. Click on the subtract from shape icon in the options bar and use the ellipse tool again to cut the ellipse.
Use a clipping mask to clip your image to the shape. See this link:

For the outlines, each shape and use the stroke command (edit<Stroke) to stroke each shape. Note: Stroke will not be included in the clipping group...put it in a blank layer above the clipping group. (On PC, Ctrl click the shape thumbnail will select the shape.) To get the strokes the way you want, you may have to experiment with their position in the layer stack.
For the solid colors, you can clip solid fill adjustment layers to the shapes. This is nice because it makes experimenting with color very easy. Just double click the color fill to bring up color picker and swap out color.
Here's an example of what I mean. My layers palette UI will look different as I did this using Photoshop. Everything done however, would be done exactly the same way in Elements.
Edit: For the olive green solid color fills, I used selections of the arc shape to mask the area I wanted blocked in with a solid color. (Use black paint to hide color; white paint to show color) This is why it isn't in a clipping group. (You could but I didn't in the above example.
