Want Skype to bring back Archive method for chats.

I think I'm going to fix this by finding some other messaging program.
Anybody know any that works with osX, win, iOS, android and winPhone?
I've been waiting for about 5 years for Skype to bring back nice Archive method for chats. Now my db file got corrupted because of hdd i/o error. Last back up from last summer and nothing official info how to migrate all chats from different devices and from skype's mysterious cloud....

I don't use iCloud, nor am I willing to.
Removing a feature that users use is simple poor customer support.

SyncServices has been deprecated (ie will be removed in a future update) since Lion was released two years ago. It was a horrible solution wrought with errors, so they went to an open standards based system, CalDAV and CardDAV.
While Apple may be able to enable a local CalDAV and CardDAV server, I really doubt they will restore the old SyncServices debacle.
Since we are not employed by Apple, and we have no contact with Apple, we can't do anything to bring back the features you want. You'll have to contact Apple for that.

Bring Back mini qwerty for nokia X6 :(

please nokia, consider bringing back the mini qwerty for x6 , i don't think it's hard to do that..it really looks a lot better..also,developpers should design a custom pack ,lt should be that when x6 users install swype app. it automatically enables the mini qwerty in x6, otherwise there is no mini qwerty..
forgot to ment ion I've just installed Opera Mobile which gives the option for a QWERTY in portrait mode, and I have to say it works extremely well. Perhaps Nokia could look at Opera's keyboard and implement something similar!

Not sure what version of Swype you are using but perhaps the latest Beta release has addressed this issue. I'm not entirely sure because I don't use Swype at all.

What are the best archiving methods for small colleges?

Hi Folks,
Im thinking a few terabyte hard drives will be my best option for a hundred dollars each.
We have a small operation here at a New England college with two editing systems that get a good amount of student use and use by myself for college needs. Some of the student work will get deleted at the end of each semester, but I need to save all the college's video.
What are the best ways to archive? Some of my concerns are cost and space. I can afford a few externals, do any of you have a nice cheap solution?
I understand if I am to go the route of archiving on externals I should have a backup of my backup, do any of you guys have any feedback on ghosting your backups, is that common?

If it's JUST for backup (not operation), you can get bare drives and either an enclosure for 1 or 2 drives with no tools trays (like the ones from Sansdigital: about $120 for a 1 drive enclosure) or a device like the UltraDock from Wiebetech (I use the latter). Physically install (or connect in the case of Ultradock) a bare SATA II 3.5" drive, connect it via USB 2, Firewire, esata, initialize/erase it, and then copy your files.
Then store the drive carefully in the foil anti-static bag it came in a dry location where it won't get jostled about by errant students (or kids in my house).
The savings in not getting full drive enclosures in the cost of multiple power supplies and interfaces. You pay for that once with the mountable enclosure / drivedock, and thereafter, just buy bare drives.
I also like another reply: have the students provide drives on which to back up their projects. A friend of mine has a ProTools audio studio, and part of his "set up" charge, is $100 for a bare drive that he will archive for 5 years, or the client can take with him at the end of the project (when the bill is paid).

Is Apple planning on bringing "bounce" back to mail?
Junk mail doesn't get rid of these persistant emailers, I still have to deal with the spam report multiple times a day. Unsubscribe is a joke, as most mail still keeps on coming.

Please bring back an option to Add Scroll Arrows!?

Mac OS X v10.7 Lion - has removed scrollbars and changed the direction of scrolling to better align with iphones, ipads, etc. Thankfully, there are options to go back to behavior similar to classic scrolling behavior, with one important exception. Unfortunately, scroll arrows are now completely gone. OUCH !
Through preferences one can make scrollbars be presented. Behavior can be based on the type of device being used, or scrollbars can be displayed all the time. I choose to display scrollbars all the time.
Through preferences one can make the scrolling direction go back to what one expects if one used Mac OS X versions prior to 10.7 Lion. When I'm scrolling content on my MacBook Pro, I'm either using devices that are not "embedded" in the display (the trackpad or the mouse). When others do scrolling say on an iPad, where the scrolling is directly on the screen, I get it that the direction is different. But don't change up and down so it will match a phone or tablet when I'm on a device where I'm doing indirect manipulation of window content.
To the core complaint... Scroll Arrows are Gone: I cannot get scroll arrows any more. Take a look at Mail or Safari. This is especially needed in Mail. I get lots of mail. I want to be able to scroll up and down by pages (yes there is another preference for this) using the scroll region. I can do that. But I also want to be able to scroll the window (say preview window, or mail message content window) by one line at a time. However, there is no option that I can find. Maybe I want to see the whole paragraph at the same time. Maybe I want to see a code fragment of 5-10 lines all at one time.
Some might say we should just use the up and down keys on the keyboard. I would like to do that. However, with Mail, Apple still has not provided the ability to move from message to message in the preview pane without MARKING THE MESSAGE AS READ ! Most email messages (like this one :-) are too long at least for quick browsing. When I use the up/down arrow to go from message 42 to message 49, then 42 thru 49 are marked as read, even though I can do this in a second or so with seven down-arrow presses. Certainly I can't read 7 real-life emails in a second. See below for a post two years ago requesting this feature which many Mail programs have, but which has never been added to Mac's Mail app:

Please bring back some method for turning on scroll arrows again! And yes, give the option for controlling whether they're stacked at bottom of scroll region, or for using the more common model of up arrow at top of region and down arrow at bottom.
Sadly, this is also a core behavior of Mac OS X 10.7. I have Chrome installed. It does not allow scroll arrows either.
So, Apple... Accept that you went too far. Bring back options to turn on scroll arrows.
...and go back and review that mail preview behavior too, while you're at it.

while the two finger scrolling is a sometime substitute for scroll arrows it is completely inadequate as a full time solution. It is useless in programs like excel that can have multiple split screens and only scrolls in one at at time and there is no reliable way that doesn't affect other operations to tell the program what screen you want to scroll in. With scroll arrows I got arrows for each window when I split the screen. It is typical of apple's (and steve jobs) hubris that they would eliminate these. It's fine if you think it is more sleek efficient use of the screen not to have scroll bars, but why recognize the need for scroll bars and allow us to turn them on and not scroll arrows?.
Forgetting the split screen problem, on the large databases I have with 10s of thousands of records anything other than scroll arrows is unpredictable because the scrolling speed is dictated by the size of the database and the sideways scrolling with the track pad is clumsy.
The lack of compatability in Lion whether with programs or user interface speaks poorly of Apple and it is the first time in a long time I've thought I might be headed back to the dark side.
And I think they do this on purpose, to make people bend to their paradigm -- see Job's refusal for the longest time to let keyboards connect to the iphone.
And, I know I'm not speaking to apple here, I'm speaking to Apple users. Apple doesn't seem to care or think it can do any wrong and has had that attitude for a long time.

How to call backing bean method when user tabs out of af:inputListOfValues field

I am using jdev 11.1.2.4.
I want to call a backing bean method based on the value selected in the af:inputListOfValues field.
The requirement is similar as Frank Nimphius-Oracle has demonstrated here https://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/how_to_notify_the_server but with Input List of Values component.

As first, check to see that you are using correct type for af:serverListener (thet one you are queue in the javaScript onBlurTxtField function)
If still does not work, go to directly to the page source code, and put af:serverListener "by hand", as a child for af:inputListOfValues.
Because it is possible that these messages are false alarm...

How can I collect the selected row value & navigate to next page by DOUBLE-CLICK the result table row.
My application got searchResult page where I am displaying the list of user in result table. Then selecting any one row and navigating to master details page by clicking the continue button. Button Action method will collect the selected row userID which I am forwarding to the masterDetails page.
Same functionality I want to do by double click the row instead of clicking the button!!. I want to trigger the backing bean method if the user double click the row basically. Please help me in this how to do this?

Back Up Server - for 10g Database

Dear Gurus,
I have the following requirement:
I have a production databaser running on Dell Server with Windows 2003. I want to create a back up server for the same and it need to be updated daily evening. So i have writtent a batch fil as follows:

Now from the above file you can see i am using the exp utility and taking a full backup of the database and copying it to S drive which is nothing but one of the drives i have mapped for coping over the network to my back up server. Now on my backup server i have installed Oracle 10g Database same version as on production with the same SID. Now after doing the export can i run import on the back up server using system user to load all the data from the export file?
Will it work also i have to perform this exp/imp daily evening automatically so what will happen to the data which is on Back up will all the users data will overided or what will happen, I will be thankful if anyone can explain and guide me in performing the above mention task.
Note Db Size is 450MB.

If you want to use an export as a supplement to a viable backup mechanism, the least you could do is use datapump. However, if this is all that you use, like damorgan says, you are a disaster waiting to happen.
Physical backups are backups of the physical files used in storing and recovering your database, such as datafiles, control files, and archived redo logs. Ultimately, every physical backup is a copy of files storing database information to some other location, whether on disk or some offline storage such as tape.
Logical backups contain logical data (for example, tables or stored procedures) exported from a database with an Oracle export utility and stored in a binary file, for later re-importing into a database using the corresponding Oracle import utility.
Physical backups are the foundation of any sound backup and recovery strategy. Logical backups are a useful supplement to physical backups in many circumstances but are not sufficient protection against data loss without physical backups.
Unless otherwise specified, the term "backup" as used in the backup and recovery documentation refers to physical backups, and to back up part or all of your database is to take some kind of physcial backup. The focus in the backup and recovery documentation set will be almost exclusively on physical backups.

Bringing back the Soundrop experience, listening to music in a social way

Hey Spotify team, I want you to bring back something similar to the soundrop experience, as an app or as an integrated part of the platform. For everyone that doesnt remember Soundrop was an app in spotify where you could open up rooms with a specific title and people could come in and add music tracks specific to the genre or theme of the room, these tracks were then played for everyone in the room simultaneously. You could also upvote tracks, tracks with the most upvotes were played next in line. You could also chat with the people in the room and meet great new people who shared your music interests all over the world. Soundrop was an eldorado for new music inspiration. As a playlist creator I loved going on there and finding out whats new in specific genres. The rooms were often run by people who really know whats out there and had a passion to share good music but in the end everyone in the room could contribute. I must say I have much less inspiration for my playlists now that its gone. And maybe you are saying yeah great but the people who actually used Soundrop was not that significant but: If you regularly hosted events on a platform like soundrop, e.g. getting artists to host a room, fanevents etc. there would be increased traffic.Using Soundrop makes u realize that listening to music together and even chatting about it, exchanging, sharing, is something that can be much more fun than listening alone, and this will become more and more popular in the future, kind of like a social network for music!A problem with soundrop in the end was that it was not really taken care of anymore and updates were scarce, therefore it dropped some users but if updated and managed well an app/platform similar to soundrop could thriveThings are more fun if you share them with other people you care about, thats a simple life rule, in terms of sharing and interacting spotify doesnt offer much up to now...Please think about it and lead the way, nobody else really has something similar to this, beats music, apple... How to get the back order quantity for sales Order

Hi Friends,
I want to get the back order quantity for sales order . in MD04 t-code,
there is a field(MDEZ-MNG01) for Received Qty/ Required qty. But MDEZ is a structure.
I tried from MDTB table, but the table is not updated with the values in MD04.
Please guide me from which table I can get the back order Qty for sales Order
(ref: t-code MD04, MRP element = CusOrd).

In SQL query anylizer this stored proc brings back some

Something sounds fishy. I'm not sure what more you could do
at the database, since PL/SQL VARCHAR2 variables have a max length
of 32,767 (as opposed to the VARCHAR2 data type limit of 4000
bytes). Should let you return more than 900 bytes! Perhaps you may
need to look into your kernal parameters, or Oracle parameters like
sga_max_size, etc.
You say that "Long Buffer Varchar is checked and set to
max"... what value? Also, what version of ColdFusion are you using,
as I can not "check" Long Text Buffer (chr) but only supply a
value, or I can check CLOB (or BLOB), where checking CLOB will
override the Long Text Buffer (chr) value.
