Want to be Arch developer/contributor.

Hello,
I have been using Linux for 8 years now and I am a Computer Science student, I believe me that I can program.
I am relatively new to Arch and want to contribute to the community, and want to become a developer.
My idea is to contribute to the project by helping in development. As I am new to Arch I am not familiar with all the internals of Arch and I want to learn it by helping in its development.
Want I need a mentor who can direct people like me who does not know where to start and how to proceed. If anyone can take me as their apprentice, I will be glad to help and contribute.
Thank You
Gopi

You could also try jumping in on some of the Mozilla IRC chat channels as was suggested to someone else in another thread.
Also you could also try the [/forums/buddies new contributors forum], it does now have an Admin monitoring and replying. (At the time of the quoted post Admins were almost impossible to get hold of for forum matters )

    Sorry I didn't see this earlier. :)
I know just the places where I think you'd fit in best. To make sure, just join us in #sumodev and #mozwebqa and #communityit at irc://irc.mozilla.org
I think your skills in php, javascript, python and server admin-y stuff will come in real handy at these places. :D
For example, some help is needed here to fix these tests after a new theme was added to wiki.mozilla.org and they are in python. https://github.com/mozilla/wiki-tests - more info in #mozwebqa
And maybe some help with perl might be needed with firebot, a irc bot written in perl. Channel #firebot for that.
And #communityit (for server admin stuff) and #sumodev could use some help as well, just pop in and ask. :)

  • Pleae help me: I want to install oracle developer on win server 2008

please help me i am try to install oracle developer 10g on win server 2008 but failed because the version of operating system not 5 or 5.1 or 5.2 and it is 6
so i want to install oracle developer 11g on win server 2008 but i am not found oracle developer 11g to download it
please any one help me to solve this problem or help me to find oracle developer 11g
    Thank you

Oracle Developler 11g is now called Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMw) 11g and can be downloaded from the Oracle Fusion Middleware Downloads page. You have to download and install WebLogic Server (WLS) 10.3.3 first, then scroll down and download and install Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (11.1.1.3.0).
When you install WLS, make sure you do not run the configuration step. When you install FMw, it will configure the WLS as part of it's configuration step.
    Hope this helps,

  • Want to install Oracle Developer Suite 10g R2 on Windows 7 (64-bit)

    Hi,
I have windows 7 (64-bit) installed on my laptop. I want to install Oracle developer suite 10g R2 on this machine but when I run the Oracle Universal Installer, it gives me error stating "operating system version: must be 5.0, 5.1, 5.2. Actual 6.1 Failed<<<<
    Exiting OUI.
Can anyone please help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

Developer Suite 10 is not certified or supported to be installed on Win7 (64bit). Although it can be done, you will have problems later if you manage to get it installed. If you really want to have it on your Win7 laptop, I encourage you to install "Windows XP Mode", which is part of Windows Virtual PC. This is free to licensed Win7 users (does not apply to Home edition). Refer to the following:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7

  • WANTED: Acrobat Plug-in Developer

We need a developer on contract basis to develop a plug-in for Acrobat (Reader prefered, but we understand it requires a special key).
The plug-in needs to work on both Windows and Mac.
    Requirements are:
    1. Add a "Save to" and "Open From" menu so users can save a pdf file to our web server and open a pdf file from our web server
    2. "Save to", "Open From" will trigger a dialog box that have a couple more dropddown fields that users should select.
    3. A "Setup" dialog for user to enter web server url, username and password. The information must be saved locally so users don't have to enter again.
    This is for Phase I.
For Pharse II, we would like to merge data from our server to PDF forms automatically.
We have a similar plug-in for Word and we can share the c# source code so the development should not be hard for an experienced acrobat developer.
If interested, please contact me directly at [email protected]
    Thanks.

See if you can find a NPPDF32.DLL files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\)
You can see the installed plugins on the about:plugins page.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/about%3Aplugins
You can set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.
You can open about:plugins and about:config via the location bar, like you open a website (about: is a special protocol to access some build-in pages).
If you get a warning when opening the about:config page then you can confirm that you want to continue.

  • How to become a SUMO developer / contributor / supporter

Very simply, I'm an EE/CE with TONS of experience in the industry. I would like to determine if you are looking for developers / contributors / supporters.
How does one do this? Where do I make the request?
I ask because of the feedback I'm hearing in the industry (major corporations and TONS of users) are considering Chrome or something else (other than IE) because they LOVE what the FF 3.6 look and feel gave them... Simple, complete, and UNIQUE... It wasn't IE or Safari or ANYTHING ELSE by default. If you wanted to add extensions or add-ons to taste, you could, but if you wanted a fast, *SAFE* browser that you could navigate any darn way you wanted, FF was the answer.... NOW, FF4 has changed that perception. Fears of FF5 are growing as well.... FF 4 being at EOL already doesn't bode well. Is FF 5 or 6 going to be more IE or Chrome like -OR--- (the overwhelmingly preferred option is to default to the LONG ESTABLISHED & FAMED FF 3.6 look & feel and *THEN*, if and only if, change it to suit your desires. Our active computer user age group has been extended from 18->50+ and doesn't require a degree in Comp Sci just to use or tailor. I would like to do what I can to help restore that GREAT image while providing all the NEW capabilities we have at our fingertips and WANT to use.

  • Want to become J2EE developer

    Hi,
I am a Sun certified java programmer. In my current job i am using core java/c++ but no J2EE stuff. I have around 6 years of experience in telecom industry . It is my keen desire to become a J2EE developer but i don't understand which direction i should choose JSP/Servlet or EJB. I have no web programming experience. Can anybody help me to find the right direction to achieve my goal ? I will highly appreciate your help and support.
    Thanks & Regards
    Upabbi

Servlet/JSP/JDBC is by far the most common and
    versatile.
EJB is very specialized and limited, and to the best
of my knowledge only used in big investment banks and
a handful of huge companies. ('A handful' is here
    comparatively speaking, not literally.)
Not really. Most successful EJB projects are executed in those sectors (and in companies supplying them).
Many more companies though try and fail, often repeatedly.
Everyone wants to be "enterprise", and to many that means EJB (though it might be declining).
There's a massive misunderstanding here that EJB is all there is to J2EE, that everything else is not J2EE at all.
EJB is Enterprise, after all. Enterprise normally
means that it solves problems that only exist if you
have more than a million employees and 500
incompatible IT platforms. Nope. Anything corporate can be called "enterprise". In fact most really large companies have pretty well consolidated their IT efforts on a few platforms by now, with at most some others hanging on for dear life as legacy applications inherited from companies they acquired over time that haven't been replaced (yet).
Enterprise also means that it's massively expensive,
and noone outside the enterprise would touch it with
    a 10-foot poker.
We're a rather small company (70ish people here, some 350 worldwide).
We're running several hundred servers, dozens of them with heavy EJB clusters.
On the upside, EJBs may pay better (more specialized
and big companies have tons of money). On the
downside, EJB skill is fairly useless anywhere else,
and on its own it's too narrow to base a career on.
    IMHO.
It does however give you a foot in the door in a lot of places, even if you may end up burrying EJB projects and redoing them using other things :)
I would suggest that you first find the kind of job
you want, and then check what skills you need to get
    one of those.
    That IS good advise.
But webapp development is a fairly general skill that
can come in handy in many situations. I would suggest
starting with servlet/JSP/JDBC (or Ruby on Rails :)
whether or not you go for the EJB part.Certainly, though specialising on it in this environment of offshoring is dangerous precisely because it is a general skill and can thus be easily moved to say Bangladesh or Bulgaria.

  • Noise reduction, I want it in the develop module

I keep reading how Neat Image would like to make a module for LR once the SDK is out..... I like that Neat Image is willing to work on something for us (I like NI!) But I do not want a separate module just for noise reduction. This is something that should be properly implemented in the develop module. After all, if we start seeing modules for all different types of image manipulation can you imagine how cluttered the module picker will become!!! Not to mention how cumbersome th workflow would become! And we most likely would not get keyboard shortcuts for these modules. I know I don't want that.

I am sure someone from Adobe will corect me if I am wrong, but quite pssibly once the SDK is out some third party functionality may be able to be added into existing modules ather than as completely separate ones. The something like what you want would be possible.
Or it would be like working in QD in Library and hitting R to crop and then hitting G to go back. For Noise redux, it might be N (actually already used for something else) to take to to the Noise Module and hit G or D to go back.

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your email address from your post (it's not a good idea to post personal info on any public forum, unless you like spam email).
You should be able to contact developer support via this page : https://developer.apple.com/support/
